Yes i love mullers,it stems from going to slimming world as they where a free food eat as many as you want. They have taken all the nice flavours away (chocolate and a summer fruit one. )Did i read somewhere you where veggie hence "greengirl" because you could'nt have them due to the gelatine in them.I tell you what is nice greek yoghurt with an options (the single sachets) mixed with it, and hardly any calories if you wanted something sweet.

Heres my points update for the day.

exercise 35 minutes on treadmill (wanted to do more but couldnt due to time constraints) 2 points

Fruit and veg 4 portions so 2 points

Water really made an effort 9 glasses 2 points

Calories was doing brilliantly until about 7.30pm tonight. Had eaten about 1350 cals and then I noticed a box with some chocolates left over from Christmas. I thought I'd just have one (45cals each) but one led to another, and another and another until I had finished them off. OVER 500 CALS WORTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well at least the damn things are gone for good now but obviously no points for the calories today. What a naughty greengirl I have been!!! The worst thing is it is weigh-in day for me tomorrow. I dont think it will do that much damage overall but its so annoying that I did it!!!!

Anyway that is 6 points in all, still a good score but I admit I am disappointed that I couldnt resist the chocs. i havent even got much of a sweet tooth. Will do better tomorrow :)

Progress as of today: 29 lbs lost so far, only 48 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 01/07/2007:
I ate about 600 cals worth of cookies yesterday--at least they had a good amount of fiber--haha!

Good for you on getting on the treadmill--a little is better than nothing--Keep up the good work!

WorkingIt on 01/08/2007:
Great job on the exercise and the water! Sometimes when we really get aggressive in our exercise, the craving for salt replenishment will lead us to crave chips or chocolate...I found that drinking some type of low-cal sports drink (gatorade, etc) helps to curb that craving..and making sure I'm getting enough vitamins and minerals. It is amazing what the body will do in order to replinish!

You are doing great! Good luck with the weigh in!

Hey everybody. Hope you have all had a great day. Just reading some of your diaries. I was also wondering if briansgirl would be putting in an appearance soon. If you are out there briansgirl Happy New Year and I really hope you had a lovely time with Brian!!

Full 8 points on the challenge today

I thought I would tell you my menu today, as it is different at weekends. I only have three meals, but they tend to be slightly larger than my weekday ones.

Breakfast 2 poached eggs, 2 small wholemeal toast, lowfat spread, small apple 326 calories

Lunch Small baked potato, two slices low fat cheese, tin chopped tomatoes, apple 368 calories

Evening meal Vegetarian cottage pie, mashed potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, gravy 486 cals

Extras or snacks of whatever you like to call them one chocolate 40cals, one slice of cheshire cheese 100cals, another small apple 60 cals, large vodka and low cal bitter lemon 110cals

I drank 8 glasses of water, its all i drank today (apart from the vodka!!) Gave other beverages a miss

I exercised in the morning 50 minutes on the treadmill. I'm working my way up to an hour a session on it.

I make my calories 1492 for the day. Cutting it a bit fine but still under my limit. Did really good on the fruit and veg, water and exercise. Probably been my best day so far this week as I got all my ironing done this evening too ( the job I hate the most!!) so tomorrow night I dont have to worry about getting Sarah's school uniform ready for Monday. it's already done and I will be able to put my feet up and watch some telly!!!

I heard Claire Sweeney over indulges at the weekend, then is strict with herself in the week.I'm so lazy when it comes down to ironing ,i have a setting on my dryer for ironing, and i take it out straight away and hang it up.Just wondering are you a corrie girl or eastenders?

Good evening everyone (well its evening here 9.48pm). I had another goodish day.. this challenge is doing me the world of good, keeping me focussed on my healthy regime. Not 100% today but not bad at all.

Calories 1567 (1 point) Fruit and veg 4 servings (2 points) Water 8 glasses (2 points) Exercise 10 minutes on my step (1 point)

6 points in all

I might do some crunches before I go to bed but today is my break day from the treadmill so I accept just one point for exercise. I really think this is helping me get back to basics. I think that was the original aim of the challenge, wasnt it?

Progress as of today: 29 lbs lost so far, only 48 lbs to go!

Moody on 01/05/2007:

I am the appitamy of a creature of habit!!! No matter where I am I must do my work outs first thing in the morning and if something gets in the way of that: oh man am I cranky!!! I get so stressed out when I have to start a new routine too because I am never sure how it is going to turn out! And soon I am going to have to go back to school with a whole new schedual! Ek! ha ha, I think I will be alright though! I am glad you dont feel bloated anymore! I love feeling "empty" lately I havent though because, I AM STILL ON VACATION! ugh, too much food! ha ha! Good luck with the scale: seems like your weight is coming off nicely!

Hey guys, just a quick look in tonight as I have been out at my sisters helping her with some stuff for a course she is doing. I scored 7 challenge points today. I went slightly over my calories with 1536 so just one point for that. I had 9 glasses of water (2 points). I had 3 fruits (banana, apple, grapes) and one veg (flageolet beans) (2 points) and I did 10 minutes on step this morning, 10 minute on my nieces eliptical cross trainer this evening, and 20 crunches using the new abtrainer thingy my hubby bought me (2 points). I have to say, at one time, before I started my healthy living regime I used to really struggle to do a few minutes on my neices trainer. Tonight is the first time in months that I've used it and I found it lots easier. I attribute this to losing 30lb and frequent use of the treadmill. I must be a heck of a lot fitter than I used to be!!! YAY cause for celebration!!!

By the way I've been thinking this must be creating a lot of extra work for workingit so can I just say that its much appreciated!! You are a star workingit!! :) Big hug for you winging its way from the UK!!

Good evening everyone. Isn't it nice that we have so many new members. I wish you all good luck with you new healthier eating habits and hope that you all stay with us for a long time.

On the challenge front I'd like to claim another 8 points and i thought today I would actually write down my day's menu for you so you can see a typical day for me.it was my first day back at work after the hols and a bit of a grueller!!!

As regards exercise first i did 10 minutes on my step this morning at about 5am just to give my metabolism a kickstart for the day. When I got home from work this afternoon I did 30 minutes on the treadmill before having a power nap. I walked about 2.8km (thats a bit over one and a half miles.)

For breakfast at about 5.20am I had one oatibix (oat version of weetabix) at 90cals, one small banana at about 110cals together with 150ml of Alpro soy milk at 65 cals. For my lunch at work i had a quorn sandwich, on two small slices of Nimble wholemeal bread (48 cals a slice, so 96cals altogether. The quorn is 30cals and I had some low fat spread on the bread (40cals). I also took 15 seedless grapes (45cals). i ate this at about 10am. When i got home from work at about 2.30pm I had a quorn shepherds pie (176cals) and a medium apple (55cals). I gave in to an impulse and ate two cadbury chocolate biscuits (200cals) and a small orange (40cals). At about 6.30pm i made a sort of vegetarian risotto for my evening meal. Ingredients were 100grams quorn mince (94cals),50gms brown rice (175cals),small onion (30cals), 150gms mushrooms (35cals), one pint of stock made with a stock cube (35cals) and I sprayed the wok with about ten sprays of low cal oil spray (10cals). I also count 200ml of semiskimmed cows milk that I have in tea (100cals) . I make that 1426 cals altogether. I drank 7 glasses of water throughout the day and i will take one to bed with me too.

i dont know if you are familiar with quorn products in the US. They are a TVP made from mycoprotein (from mushrooms)combined with rehydrated free range egg and other stuff. They are pretty good for protein.Quorn is a bit like soya in that it can taste like various meats soo it is a good substitute for vegetarians to use. I dont usually eat so much of it in one day but it was just convenient today. By the way mince is the uk equivalent to your ground meat.

This is my monday to friday routine, but at weekends it is completely different as i get up much later and tend to eat three slightly larger meals rather than four smaller ones.

by the way, while i was at work today my hubby bought me an abtrainer. Its a sort of rolling bar thing that helps you do crunches properly. He knows that i hate them and is trying to encourage me cos I really need to work on my tummy!!! Hope evryone has a good day tomorrow:)

*by the way, are mushrooms counted as vegetables. I know they are really fungi but can we count them??*

Progress as of today: 29 lbs lost so far, only 48 lbs to go!

moody on 01/02/2007:
What a wonderful day you had!! Stayed right on track with your foods and got some exercise in also!! Good for you!! While I was reading your menu I was thinking "what is quorn?" but then you explained!! Sounds pretty good actually!! Your dinner sounded scrumptious!!

I've always considered mushrooms to be veggies..but thats just me! LOL

Hope you have a wonderfully relaxing evening!!

WorkingIt on 01/02/2007:
Congrats on the points and on all that great exercise!!

Soon2BThin on 01/02/2007:
Thanks for explaining your foods! It's so interesting to read someone else's menu for the day, especially the foods I've never heard of. Just proves we can always learn something new. Have a good Wednesday!

Hi everybody! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I have changed my stats to reflect what has ended up being a slight gain over Christmas. It looks as if I only gained one pound but when I weighed last Friday the scale was showing 200.5. Its only because I've put in a bit of effort since then that i am nearly back to where I was before Christmas.

As regards the challenge, I am allowing myself 1500 cals a day. Today i have consumed 1483 up till now (nearly 7pm here) and I'm not planning to eat any more. This morning I spent 45 minutes on my treadmill, taking just under 35 minutes to walk (briskly) two miles and the other ten minute was getting up to speed and then chilling out by slowing down at the end. I have drank six glasses of water, and I will have at least another two tonight and take one to bed with me. As regards my intake of fruit and veg, I had a banana as part of my breakfast, and had large portions of carrots, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower with my evening meal. I usually eat more fruit but less veg. Also I had some baked beans at lunch time. Does that count as veg?

I think that gives me full points today YAY!!! Back to work tomorrow, thats when I sometimes lay off the exercise. Good luck to everone taking part in the challenge. Will update tomorrow hopefully!!!!

Progress as of today: 29 lbs lost so far, only 48 lbs to go!

WorkingIt on 01/01/2007:
Great day! Based on what you posted you get2 points for calories, 2 points for exercise, 2 points for water, and 2 points for fruits/veggies! YAY! 8 points for you! YAY!

WorkingIt on 01/01/2007:
Now that you know how to add your points, it will be easier for you to add them and then I can just skim through and pick up the total but I'll still check just to make sure you gave yourself all the points LOL. Have a great evening!

Mcwoo on 01/01/2007:
They say (the nutrionalists)that the tomato sauce in the beans counts as a portion also ketchup, but i suppose it's how much you eat of it.you don't want to eat too many beans would you!!
