This will be my last update before we start the challenge. I'm looking forward to it. I really need the motivation. Today i cleared out the stuff from my fridge that are my big temptations. This mainly involved full fat cheeses of several varieties and savoury pastries. The sweet stuff I left for hubby and the kids to finish off. I can resist them!!! Today i wrote evrything down that i ate. I stopped doing that during the holidays. I am aiming to be back where i was on christmas Eve, by the end of the first week in January and then I'm going for it. I've been back on the treadmill this week a few times this week. Really enjoyed it!!! Good luck to everyone in getting back on the horse LOL!! And Happy New year to all :)

Getting rid of the high-cal/high-fat things in the fridge was a good thing!!! I've been eating high-fat cheese also....YUM....But whereas you don't care for sweets...I sure do!!!...Good for you on getting back on the treadmill this week!!! Big Smile!!!

Hi all. I'm not updating my stats this week. Dont want to depress myself. I thought I might set myself a few goals for the New Year. I would dearly love to be down to 150lbs by the summer, say by August. It was August this year (after seeing some appalling holiday snaps of myself) when I decided to join our merry band of travellers on lifes path, and I think it would be nice to meet my first serious goal by next August, just a year later. I have enjoyed passing my small milestones along the way and sharing them with you, other people who understand exactly what I am going through. I would like to join in with workingits challenge but I dont get enough time to myself to update every day so instead i thought I would update more often than I have and include more information about my actual lifestyle, you know what I mean, calories consumed,exercise taken, perhaps some daily menus, perhaps every other day if I can make the time. I am not going to make New Years resolutions this year, just a few promises to myself, like I'm not going to let people take advantage of me any more (I'm a bit of a soft touch), and also I'm going to look after my skin more, with a bit of pampering. I deserve it and if I dont do it, no-one else will. I think it must be the approaching New Year thats making me feel so introspective.

I'd just like to add my best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy New year. I'll update soon :)

Thanks for your comment! I'll try not to mention that "O" word again, lol! You're as young as you feel, right? Well, that doesn't work for me either, I certainly don't feel young with this extra weight! I would love to reach my goal also by next summer, 140. I feel pretty good at 150 (it's hard to remember how that felt though, so long ago) but I'd just love 140, a little room to play with. So good luck to you. Let's keep each other motivated, although you're doing great already! Happy New Year!

Those sound like great resolutions (okay, "promises")! I could say the same for myself - I have also been thinking about how I need to take better care of my skin and hair, and I would also like to stand up for myself a bit more. Often it isn't even that other people are taking advantage of me as much as they just don't know what I want because I don't tell them.

Thanks for the comment you left me - it is very reassuring to know I'm not the only one who has over-indulged lately. At least we aren't losing any time trying to get back on track!

Believe it or not, you are doing just fine this holiday season. If you dont believe me, just think about where you were a year ago! You have changed a lot, both physically and mentally, so please dont beat yourself up over this minor setback. Just use this temporary setback as a little lesson and move forward. No looking back, ok?!!! :o)

Great goals for next year. Knowing you, you will reach them with flying colors!

Hi everyone. My stats update is late this week. Been too busy with last minute shopping and work and stuff. I managed to lose one pound this week but now I have broken into the Christmas goodies and eaten lots of sweets at work so I'm expecting to gain over the next two weeks. I am hoping to keep down to 200lbs. I would be disappointed to go over that again. I am going to keep up with my treadmill exercise whilst at home in an effort to minimise damage. I dont expect to update until the New Year . I'd like to leave you with the greetings of the season. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope we all have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Only one pound down this week but still very pleasing. The further i can get from 200 lb the better!!! I had a busy week this week which is why Im updating my weight a day later than usual.

I had a works Christmas lunch on Tuesday and then another party at the night.Although I enjoyed the lunch, it left me feeling very bloated at the night. I was still feeling uncomfortable when going to sleep that night. It was the Christmas Pudding that finished me off (even though I was unable to finish ot off). I think this augers well for Christmas week as I may be less tempted to overindulge now I know how bad it makes me feel. Goodluck to you all in our lifestyle improvements !!

hey everyone!!! i am very pleased to tell you that I managed a 2lb loss this week and i am finally down to under 200lbs. I was determined to do it before Christmas and with your encouragement and motivation I was able to succeed. I feel great but now I need some new clothes. Nearly everything is hanging off me. I have managed to take the waist in on some trousers and skirts to help a little but I really need some new gear. This could prove to be expensive in the long term as I expect I will have to do it again in a few months. I might pop into the local charity shops to see if they have anything suitable. It's work clothes that are the main problem. I'm not complaining though :). Lots more comments on my weightloss this week but someone actually asked me if it was caused by stress!!!! I felt like saying no it was caused by bloody hard work!!!! Looking forward to enjoying Christmas but i think I will try and lose another couple of pounds before then so I dont go back over the 200 before New Year. Keep up the good work ladies and gents!!!

By all means shop at the thrift stores until you reach your goal, otherwise it'll be very expensive. I know when I was losing, I was so thrilled at being able to get into a 12 again, that I bought 3-4 pairs, not thinking that I would get down to a 10 and finally a 8. Consequently I was only able to wear these pants 2-3 times before I gave them away. I was glad to be able to but could have kicked myself for spending all that money. But it was worth it!

YAY!! Im thrilled for you. Do go out and buy some nice clothes for yourself. You can find some pretty good deals at secondhand shops and "gently used" stores. Enjoy trying on the smaller sizes!! :o)

hey everyone!! Weigh in day for me today and I am down another pound. I have been very careful, and got in lots of exercise, as I have had a couple of days off work to do some Christmas shopping and get the house straight. I think my body is determined to drag out the length of time I am over 200lb but I am determined that THIS IS THE WEEK. This time next week I WILL be in the 190's. Strangely, even tho' I have only lost one pound, this week several people have commented that I have lost weight. YAY!!!! I am a little short on time tonight but this weekend I will catch up with diaries, and give what support I can to our group !!! Good luck to all:)

Lost another pound this week despite slight overindulgence on my weekend away. I only need to lose another 3 lbs to be under the 200 in time for Christmas so I am going to be extra vigilant for the next couple of weeks so I can lose it before my Christmas parties at work. I've actually got two Christmas bashes on the same day, on the 12th of December so I could do with being down to under 200 well before then!!! Wish me luck :) Hope you are all enjoying yourselves

By the way Soonie, I only wish I was the redhead in my pictures!!! She only weighs about 140 lb!!!1 Her hair is glorious :)

Hi fellow DDers. Just a quick visit to put some photos on from my short trip away. This is Scarborough!!! You know, from the song Scarborough fair!!! You can just see the medieval castle on the cliff at the back of the town. I think its about 800-900 years old.
