Hey DD'er's Sorry so long between entries, but I'M BACK!!!!

Wow, what a hectic few weeks in our little world of Cleveland, OH. I have been struggling with issues at my church for the past 8 months. Last August, they voted in a new pastor. Mind you, I have voting rights, but I wasn't there for the vote as I was with all the wonderful people having a great time at the WLS Indy picnic. *much better place to be*. I wasn't happy with the way they did it, but oh well, the powers that be decided that was the way to do it.

Pastor Eric Schall came to us from Circleville, OH. He had been a youth pastor for many years, and had taken many missions trips to the Philippines, *sp* and other 3rd world countries. He seemed to fit the vision that our board envisioned for our little church. We had about 35 families who were members at our church but on an average Sunday, attendance was about 50 people. Our former Pastor and his wife were good friends of my husband and I and we miss them terribly, but we still see them socially.

In the 10 months that Pastor Eric has been "Lead" pastor at our church, he has drastically changed things that has caused about 1/2 the membership to leave. I tried very hard to stick it out, but he basically has the attitiude "my way or the highway" and I wasn't getting anything out of the services anymore, and found myself sitting there disgusted. I had put 7 years into that church and last week, with great sadness, resigned my membership and left. I cried terribly as I wrote my letter of resignation. My husband and I had donated time, equipment and services to that church and felt like everything was for nothing. So emotionally, I have been drained.

I have started going to a wonderful Assembly of God church in Avon, OH. it is a bit of a trek from my house, but well worth the trip. My son is so excited about this church, the pastor, the youth pastor, the worship team, etc. I feel so good when I leave the service, I feel like I can conquer the world. God is truly working in the church and in my life.

Things with my weight have been pretty consistent. I have been able to maintain my weight for over a year now and am happy about that. I am hitting the gym 5 days per week and doing circuit weight training 3 of those days along with cardio. I am also riding 4 miles on my bicycle each way to the gym in the good weather. Usually at 5:30 Am which is always a good wakeup call.

Today is my 21st Wedding Anniversary. We are going to spend the afternoon garage/yard saleing and then having a nice early dinner at Red Lobster. Then we are headed to a local car show near our home. Hope you all have a wonderful day and nice weekend.

Progress as of today: 115 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

thinnsidenotout on 07/10/2008:
I could of swore that I wrote this entry's beginning...... Yep!...We are experiencing the similar thing @ our little church as well...The governing board voted, but not the members.... The new senior pastor is Mickey's (my walking partners) husband....He works in a supervisory capacity @ his job as well.... "he is a supervisor!" and let me tell you it is very hard to sit there with an open mind to see how things are going to turn out in the long run..He was installed 2 weeks ago..We weren't there for the service (Son had a ballgame) and I cannot say that I missed being there...Very bad of me!.... WE are letting the Lord guide us this mext few weeks and it is a toughy, as I am piano player, custodian & hostess, plus hubby is a Sunday School teacher & our son is a guitar player... Very involved..... So, know you are not alone in the changes of your church life..

"A Happy Anniversary to you! A Happy Anniversary to you!......May you feel Jesus near every day of the year.... A Happy Anniversary to you! A Happy Anniversary to you and the BEST year you've ever had"... Hard to catch the tune to it, but it is a good one!

I wanna go yardsaling!

Sounds wonderful!! Glad you are happy and content with your new surroundings!

Beth201P on 07/10/2008:
Happy Anniversary to you. Enjoy yourself. I go to a real small church myself. I really enjoy it. I think that we need to work on getting our church family a little closer. We have a lot of members that don't come like they should, but it is getting better. Well you enjoy your new church. ((Hugs))

Congradulations and a very Happy Anniversary!!! I lived in Cleveland for a few months a couple years ago. I lived in Cleveland Heights. It seems very friendly.

welcome back! quite a few old dders have rejoined us!

WI3 on 07/12/2008:
Glad you found a new church that you enjoy. Have a great evening!

anewhb on 09/11/2008:
Hey - just wondering where you are! I was gone a bunch in June/July myself as a tree fell on our house and repairs are still not done. This was result of a storm. Caught up with your post about church - I think sometimes things like this happen because god wants us someplace else. I hope all is going well with your church life now. I know I am one who will not drive out of my way to go to church - so I am lucky I have a church I like close to home. LOL!

There is a possibility I will be coming to Cleveland in the Fall. My daughter and her dance partner may come to a ballroom competition there and they can't go by themselves (because I say so) - it's too far - and we need to shar the driving, etc.

Is your son enjoying his drama program at school? What plays are they doing this year?

Daughter's school is planning Fiddler on the Roof and I don't think she wants to audition. I hate this because it is her Senior year and I'll miss her in the musical of her senior year if she doesn't, but she doesn't think there is a dance part in it that will be "worth her time" at this point. Although I hope she changes her mind, she is working after school - teaching ballroom dance and she loves it - so I guess I really want her to do what makes her happy.

Wow, first day with no school so I got up early, and rode my bike to the gym at 6:13AM. Got there around 6:33 AM and then worked out on the circuit training and then 30 minutes on the eliptical, then biked home. Was home by 8:05 AM, took a shower, got to work by 9. I am so glad that is over early in the day and I won't be taking so many showers. LOL It was a beautiful morning for a ride. Not to hot, not too cool. I think the temp was 64 when I left the house and close to 68 when I left the gym.

I am hoping by getting the exercise early in the day, I won't be as hungrey, *which I am not really that hungrey anyway* but less tempted to snack.

Hope you all have a great day. Sun is shining here, and low humidity. Take care!

Progress as of today: 115 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Good Wednesday to you!

Hey everyone! Got home from a weekend of camping with my son and his friend. I even took my little pug and she did very well. I have never camped with a dog before, so it was interesting. I may take her in the fall when we go. Wasn't to crowded and even though it was close to 90 all weekend, we had a shady spot and enjoyed just veggin.

Actually lost 3lbs this weekend. Don't know how, but I did. I have been so consistent with my exercise every week and hope to start exercising early in the morning now that school is out. I can ride my bike to the gym and get a workout in by 6:30 and then come home, shower, and get to work by 9. That way I don't have to take 2 showers a day like I have been.

Well hope your all doing okay. Will check out your diaries tonight and tomorrow from work. Take care!

Progress as of today: 115 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Good Monday everyone. Sorry I have been so lax in posting updates. Crazy end of school time. Finals are this week for my son and next Mon/Tues for my daughter.

Was very diligent with my exercise and that's good cause I will be running all week and might not get there every day, or it I do it will be late.

Going camping this coming weekend and looking forward to it. Brought the camper home from my storage place to have my husband make some minor repairs and almost lost it in the freeway. I had a brain fart and put the wrong hitchball on and it was too big, so the trailer didn't seat right. When I hit a bump, it came off the hitch, and thankfully, I had put the chains on right and I didn't lose it. I was able to get to the berm and redo it, but what a heart stopper. I was just glad it didn't cause an accident.

Got a video of my son's performance in Joseph. I plan on uploading his solo to YOUTUBE this week sometime. Will let you all know when I do. I am gonna attempt to do it today or tomorrow.

Well off to work early today. Have a hearing for my husband for workers comp and I have a dog who needs tooth attention at the vet later today. Love ya all and talk soon!

Progress as of today: 112 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

Over 1000 motorcycles strong came out to support the 4th Annual Greater Cleveland Firefighter Memorial Ride. Alot of money was raised to care for the memorial and to give to the families of fallen firefighters. Already nationwide this year 47 Firefighters have lost their lives in the line of duty and it's not even June 1st. These brave men and women take the dangerous leap everytime they answer an alarm. God bless them and their families.

My cousin and I rode in the 45 mile ride past 9 community firehouses. We left Cleveland Browns Stadium at 11:00 AM and pulled into the final destination at Lake Erie Harley Davidson at 12:52 PM. Needless to say, alot of numb butts. LOL It was a nice trip through communities on the west side of Cleveland and up and down alot of residential streets. What a wake up call on a Sunday Morning.

My bike handled great and I rode my farthest ride on freeway ever.

Spent the evening with my husband, and two other couples who love classic car shows. We took my 66 mustang and our friends drove their 62 Fury and 74 Camaro. They hold this car show at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sheffield Lake, OH. It's alot of fun and good food too. The highlight of the evening is when cars are pulling out and the burnouts start. It's like watching Olympic diving with the rating systems. LOL Alot of smokin tires.

Got up early this morning and rode my bicycle to the gym, *4 miles* and then did 20 minutes of circuit training, and 30 minutes on the ET. Then got on my bicycle and rode the 4 miles home. Great morning, good temps and sunny. I am headed to Canton at 5 to go to a wake. My brother's mother in law died, and I am going to make an appearance. That's a half a tank round trip. Yikes.

Well, have a great, safe week everyone. Thank a veteran for their service today and say a prayer for the ones who didn't make it home.

Spent Saturday at Cedar Point with my son. We had a great day, as the weather was fantastic, and were able to get on 2 big coasters. Maverick was constantly breaking down but did ride Magnum XL and Millenium Force. Those were wake up calls.

Got some good walking time in also. My son and I walk really fast, so was able to get a little exercise walking the Frontier Trail. This picture was taken in the new Planet Snoopy kiddie area. It is really nice. They had some games in there we played, of course, I only win at the kiddie games. I won a little pink teddy bear just by picking up a duck with a color on it. LOL Games of skill, forget about it.

My neice had her babies last Monday. They were very small, 3lbs 3 oz, and 1lb 15oz, girls. They are improving every day and hope to be home by July. Their names are Jaelin Noel and Gabriella Rose. I got to see them 2 days after they were born, so tiny. Gabby's head was the size of a tennis ball and Jaelin's was a little bigger, about the size of a grapefruit. They are breathing without a ventilator or oxygen and are taking my neice's breast milk through a feeding tube. If I knew how to post 2 pics on the same post, I would post some pics of them here. I will try later. Please keep them and my neice in prayer.

Have been doing good with exercise. Am using the eliptical at the gym these days. I am up to 35 minutes on level 3 and like it cause it's not as hard on me as the treadmill. I have been biking *bicycle* to the gym, doing my workout and then biking home. Total of 75 minutes of cardio, and 20 minutes of weight training 3 of those days also. Weather is supposed to be nice today, so I will be able to ride.

Going to try and hit Bike Night tonight. Haven't been in a few weeks due to weather and committments. My husband fixed my tailights and adjusted my saddlebags. They were rubbing on the chain and it was tearing a hole in the leather. He fixed all that, so I now will be able to carry things without worrying about losing them.

Well, I am off to get ready for work. Have a blessed day everyone.

Progress as of today: 112 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 05/13/2008:
Well, you sure have harkened to a "wake up call" yourself. The exercise is wonderful! I like the ET. It is better than treadmill and much easier on joints. Your level and time are very good - don't try to increase too fast. Just go with the flow. Biking to the gym - my - wonderful - and saves on GAS, too!! Husband fixed headlights and adjusted saddlebags, huh - I don't know....that sounds kind of "personal"!! (hee-hee-Just kidding!)

Wow, what a fast past couple of weeks. Have really been doing my due diligence on the exercise. I am now biking *in dry weather* to the gym (4 miles each way) and then doing my workout and biking home. It feels so good and I just love the change of scenery from just looking at a tv or the gym wall. I love spring and all the flowers and plants blooming. *My hayfever doesn't share my love* but oh well. I have recently starting doing the eliptical trainer. I didn't think I would be able to as I have bad knees, but I love it.

Yesterday, my 18 year old neice gave birth to Indentical twin girls, about 8 weeks premature. Jaelin Noel weighed in at 3# 15ozs and Gabriella Rose weighed in at 1# 15 ozs. My neice didn't inform her parents until last week that she was pregnant and when they did the ultrasound last Thursday, she found out that she had twins. They immediately put her in the hospital after it revealed that Gabriella wasn't gaining the weight that Jaelin was. They kept her off her feet and then gave her steroid shots througout the weekend. Yesterday, they determined that she would grow and develop better on the outside so at 6:46 pm yesterday, they were delivered by C-Section. They will be in the NICU for 6-8 weeks but hopefully the next 48 hours will show some improvement.

I am going to see her today, but I doubt I will get to see the babies. I am hoping they have pictures in her room. If you have a minute, say a prayer for her and the babies.

My son was also inducted into the International Thespian Society on Sunday. His school has a charter membership, so he qualified to be a member after performing in his 3rd production with his high school, It was a small ceremony, but hoping it will look good on college applications. I am so proud of his accomplishments. He is already planning on next season. His school is doing "Rumors" in the fall which is a Neil Simon play and then for the spring musical, it will be Peter Pan. He is wanting to try out for Captain Hook in Peter Pan. My mom has already voluteered to do the pirate costume for him.

My daughter got a promotion on Saturday at her job. She has been at Taco Bell for 7 months and got promoted to Crew Trainer and also got her 6 months raise, crew trainer raise, and if she works 1 closing shift a month, she will qualify for Night Crew raise. She is loving the money and hoping to possibly be a manager within 1 year. I am also very proud of her. She is so focused on her future. She wants to be a vet with the SPCA. She is already doing research for college grants and financial aid.

My husband had a doc appt yesterday. They shot his elbow full of cortisone. He tore a tendon about 6 months ago and got a shot then, it lasted about 4 months, and has flared up again. Dr. Keppler *who is the team ortho doc for the Cleveland Indians* told him they would give him another shot yesterday, if that didn't help they would have to consider surgery.

We have adjusted to our new addition *BRIDGET THE PUG*. She is turning into a real sweetheart. She doesn't hardly bark, and is learning her place in the pecking order. I am going to put a half door in my kitchen though. She loves to hang out by the side door and has ran out when people open it without looking. We have 3 steps that go down toward the side door and the another flight of steps to the basement. We figure if we put a half door, that is high enough she can't jump, it should help her from getting down to the door.

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. We are headed to Cedar Point for our first trip of the season. I am so excited. I want to get on those coasters!!!!

Progress as of today: 112 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

Good Sunday everyone! This is Bridget, our new baby. Didn't expect to have another pup but she kinda presented herself to us on Thursday evening. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow to find out her age, and have her checked out. My husband found her wandering in a neighborhood near ours and she was very dehydrated. She had a new collar, clipped nails and was clean with good teeth. Someone paid alot of money for her and then turned her out. No signs looking for her for the last 5 days. She is very thin, so he brought her home.

She is a little domineering but my other dogs are putting her in her place.

Did some great workout this week. On Thursday, I rode my bicycle to the gym *4 miles* then did 11 miles on the recumbant bike and then rode my bike home *4 miles*. I was exhausted. Did my normal cardio for all 5 days and my circuit for 3 of those days also. It was so beautiful this week, almost didn't want to be in the gym.

This coming week is my birthday, and we are going to the Indians game to celebrate that night. I will also be getting a CC Sabathia bobble head doll. There are 12 of us going, so that should be fun.

Hope you all had a nice weekend and have a safe week coming up!

What an awesome day. Spent a rainy morning with some of the greatest people on the planet. I and about 1000 of my closet friends, rode in procession to Cleveland's Public Square to the 6th Annual Rally for the Troops. We salute the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and those also risking their lives everyday in our armed forces. Due to the rain, not as many bikers made the trek. I was determined to participate. My very good friend Dawn and her husband Bob were there. Dawn is also a WLS success story. She is almost 5 years out and has maintained her weight loss and still working out. She is working with a personal trainer and like me, loving the results we are getting. Her husband is a Cleveland Police Sergeant and she was also on the job before the birth of her 3rd child. They used to work with my husband. We met up with about 10 other officers and rode together.

Also saw a friend of mine who I was in business with. Her son was killed in the waters of the Persian Gulf while on a submarine. He fell off the submarine while trying to rescue others. He was a father of a young son. I was able to hug her and her husband Walt for the first time since Michael died.

Afterwards, we rode in a small procession back to Cleveland Harley Davidson to share a nice lunch with our friends. All the proceeds raised today are going to assist Honer Flights Cleveland. My previous post shared that importance. I was also able to meet some heroes from WWII today. They truly are the greatest generation.

Back to the gym tomorrow. Gonna be a great week. My son's play has ended and it was wonderful. I was so proud of him singing his solo. My brother and his wife were there last night and thoroughly enjoyed the show. Now he has to concentrate on the final 6 weeks of school and getting his gpa up.

Well, hope you all had a great weekend. Got some yardwork done and got a little sunburned. Thanks for the prayers for the riders today and if you would like to donate to the cause, go to the website www.honorflightscleveland.com These guys don't have much time left to visit that memorial. 54 soldier died waiting to have the opportunity to go.

Take care and will catch up on your diaries this week!
