Hello there everyone!  Yup, it's really me - for those of you who remember me, anyway!

I am doing some better lately.  I have been exercising quite a bit - on bike and walking/hiking.  Food -- well, I'm still eating most anything I want.

Clothes still tight, but not quite as much.  May have lost 2-3 lbs.  Feeling like I may be able to face up to the music and get back on tract for health - need to lose 12 lbs at least - but probably realistic.  I know, I know, that doesn't see like so much.  I just haven't been able to deal with making better choices - after all this time it still isn't a "natural" for me, but I'm better than I could be, so that is some progress.

Had the medical procedure for my femail issues and so far so good.  Will still be about 45 days before I'll know if I will be bothered by the monthly problem again......YAY!!

Glad that is taken care of. And good job on exercising, if you keep up with that, probably the food part will follow. One thing at a time. You're on a good path. As far as Match.com, yes, the idea is kind of weird, I got on it and started dating J, so have used it on and off, not frequently. What I learned though, is that it's EXACTLY the same as meeting someone naturally. Only it's faster, since you don't have to wait on casually bumping into someone. The cool thing is that you have a change to meet someone who has similar values/interests, which in 'real life' sometimes it takes a while to know about all that stuff (religion, politics, music taste, work, etc etc). Needless to say, there's a bunch of idiots on there too. hahahaha So you're lucky to be out of the market baby! hahaha Kisses and welcome back!

Welcome back! The charts I use are copy and pasted from the daily plate, which is a food logging tool on livestrong.com - I love it as it helps you keep track of more than just calories and it's free and easy to use. I like knowing how much sodium and carbs I am eating, too, so that makes it easier. Good luck!

Hello all.  I'm havng a hard time finding time to post on here.  But I have been thinking about you a lot!  Julie - (McWoo) thanks for the note.  I misssed you when you were gone so long.  

How am I doing?  OK sometimes - not so much at others.  I need to lose 10 lbs - no doubt - in order to fit back in my best clothes!  I can wear them, but they look pretty bad and are very tight.  I can do it.  I just need to be consistent. 

I've quit the Deli - it was just too much - for now and I am working more hours at my other job and looking for another job all together.  I do not feel secure where I am, but these days what is secure in the job department!

its difficult to lose weight if you are worried about other things! maybe when you feel more settled you will start to feel better about those elusive 10lbs! keep up the good work

Hey Holly, I too have been away awhile. Started back to college and now my daughter graduated high school and off to Ohio State in the fall. Hope your well, and things are good with your daughter. My son recently played "Captain Hook" in Peter Pan at his high school. It was fantastic. He won "Best Actor" for the 2008-2009 Season.

Hello Holly,i thought i was seeing things when i saw your name.I have been private posting but i tend to do better when i do a public entry.The last 6weeks have been awful i started with a sore throat which lasted about 4days earache with it aswell.Then it turned into a chest infection.I hope your not eating but i was vomitting what i was coughing up.I had 2 lots of anti-biotics yesterday started with a sore throat and my nose is blocked,maybe i'm run down???The bp has come down slightly even with loosing weight it's not come down that much and the doc says if it's not come down next month when i go again i will have to have another pill,gosh i will be rattling!!Shoes,yes i need a good pair of casual shoes.The woman who i work with gave me a gift voucher for my 40th yes 18mths ago and i still have'nt spent it so that's what i have planned tomorrow.As i put in my diary hubby's birthday/our anniversary so hubby wants to go out for lunch i hate dinning out trying to see what's healthy etc.Yes i an trying to stick at it this time,but you know what i'm like,be positive Julie.Anyway keep in touch with me even if your not posting,take care and i hope the family are ok.PS Alfie is 2 now gosh where does the time go.We are taking him to Wales in August it's about 1hr 40mins drive away looking at all the dog friendly beaches in the area.Bye for now Julie

Exercise - working at the Deli

I am having minor surgery on 5/21 (hopefully this will "cure" female issues with which I have long suffered).  It's called a uterine ablastion and I am excited.

Hang in all - I'll post more later.  I have planned all meals today!

I love oatmeal with maple syrup. I hope your surgery goes well and takes care of your problems. I know what you mean about gardening, I neglected mine completely last year because I was at the end of my pregnancy and then dealing with a newborn. And things really got out of hand! I'm slowly reining those suckers back in though. And it's so rewarding to see things blooming now.

Re: Separation Anxiety...Yes, she had adjusted to my leaving (somewhat, but not totally) when she was at the nursing home...but when she got into trouble regarding her foot, I spend time with her EVERY DAY for weeks and I guess this made the difference.

Ok dearies - here I go again - or is it still yet?  I m going to make a good effort to eat well.

Hey McWoo - are you still on here?  What's up with you these days? 

B - Banana, Tea 100

Lunch is PLANNED as it must be for me to have success.  I have several things to choose from for lunch today - chicken and stars soup, apple, cheese and wheat thins.  Will probably have them all!

L- Chicken & Stars Soup 150, Laughing Cow Light Cheese 35, Wheat Thins 70, 1/2 small can peaches in pear juice 50, Total 305

Plan to have apple snack this afternoon

I don't know if you all ever watch Good Morning America, but the tennis star, Monica Selas (I don't know if that's really how to spell her name or not, but I'll bet you know who I mean) was on there and she has come out and said that she suffered from binge eating for 9 years!  She was in the tennis spotlight at the time and the press made some really nasty remarks about her weight going up and down.  She left tennis behind and got some help with her eating issues and has written a book about it all.  At one point her trainers were telling the hotel staff where she stayed to unstock the mini-bars in her room and not serve her room service.  She developed the problem after her Dad's death and after she was attacked on the court by a raving lunitic.  Anyway - she said once she realized she was deadening her emotions with the food she was able to get bettter.   Should be a pretty interesting book for some of us on here, huh???

Hello all!  Whew !  What a whirlwind.  I have not done so well on my eating habits the last week.  BUT...I am doing OK today and I'm going to do OK more often again.  

As some of you all know - Dad had colon surgery last week.  He did OK.  We still don't know about the follow-up treatment he will need - he has an appointment next Wednesday 4/8 and will find out more then, but he came through the surgery OK and is recooperating at home.

In the meantime they have re-finished my hardwood floors at my house and should be there now putting the large appliances back in place in my kitchen and tyinig up loose ends.  Then all we should have to do for the renovation to be complete is:  put the stuff in boxes away and have the professionals in to clean the house completely - light fixtures, flower arrangements, etc.  ALL OF IT!  Woo-hoo, what a journey it has been since that trer fell on 6/10/08.  

Hope you are doing well on your eating and exercise...I'm going ot check out your diaries later!!

Doiing OK on diet - but too much going on to write down menus.  I've been staying between 1500-1800 last few days.   

Thanks for good thoughts and prayers on Dad.  He was actually able to get in to the surgeon/oncologist office Wednesday.  He is going to have surgery on Monday at 1:00 - please cover this time with your prayers!  Surgeon said path report indicated Stage 2 but would know more after operation.  Worried because he is so weakened.  He's lost weight becuase doesn't feel like eating - tumor is large and almost blocks his colon - causes discomfort.  Told to eat milkshakes and other high cal liquid and soft foods, but he's not cooperating so far.  Going ot take him DQ milkshake at lunch.

Thank you for the encouraging words regarding my Dad.  He was going to have to wait to see the surgeon until next Thursday, but they had a cancellation and he is going today.  Please pray today for him and my Mom.

 

Yesterday - I kind of lost track of exactly what I ate.  But, I think I was still in a pretty good range.  I'll go and see if I can recreate my menu - I didn't write it all down, but it wasn't that much so I think I can remember at least most of it.  Walked with husband and dogs about an hour!  YAY!

Holly ~ Having a dad who has been diagnosed with cancer (jaw bone) in the past, but surgery getting it all...Now, having another spot being kept eye on... I can empathize with you in I'm sure "worry"... Dad's are special to their lil girls and uniquely enough...... I am sorry for your time of "worry", but also know that God is the great physician to allow Dr.s the knowledge/skill to treat people as He sees fit.... I will keep your family in my prayers....

I'm so sorry about your dad. My grandmother had colon cancer when she was 67. She had surgery, and lived to be almost 94. I hope he'll make it through this just as well.

Got on the site yesterday and read some, but didn't comment or post - kept getting interupted!

This weekend was good. I overate on calories, but not terribly.  Kind of made up for Saturday on Sunday and evened out a little.  I will be back on track this week.  

Today - FORGOT to eat breakfast - I will have to get something in me fast!  I have a protein bar and a fruit cup in my purse!  Tea 0 calories!

B:  Fruit Cup and 2 small cookies, tea 150

L:  Nachos with beans and beef 600

D:  3 Cookies and Pretzels with cheese 460

Total 1210 Cals Worked at the deli for exercise

I'm not hungry for breakfast right now, but know if I don't eat..I will be over-hungry later.... I have started putting "bars" in my purse again myself and that is nice to fall back on at times...Less tempatations when your out - n- about.....

hi honey. louise hay is great! so positive. seems like you are recovering fast from a crazy weekend. i, too, got a little out of control with the eating and drinking celebrations, but i havent done that since i started yoga teacher training. the tattoo is on my right rib cage...its hard to tell. i wanted something really abstract and out of the ordinary:) xo
