Yesterday was OK. We had group lunch at work - BBQ and all good side dishes. I ate some of the stuff I really like and skipped things I thought I could do without. Ate about 5 really small brownies, though. Also had pineapple sherbet in the evening. I walked about 1 hour and today I am going to ride the bike!

The house reno is FINALLY starting to move ahead. Whew - we'll see....Oh yes - we had a great surprise from the contractor this a.m. He gave us the update of the cost of everything (mostly - so far)-which we were kind of concerned about. He said his estimate is about $200 in OUR favor - in other words -- we aren't over budget on any of the updates so far - we are actually under budget by about $200! I hope he is correct! I can't believe it because I thought we were over by maybe $1,000, but the bath tub that my husband found on line turned out to be $800 less on clearance than our allowance. It's a good brand and has more jets than the last tub, too, so we are very happy about that. It just happened to be a discontinued style - and who cares - it's still a newer style than the one we had installed 13 years ago when the house was built! Talk about making out like a bandit - we feel like we have on this. YAY!

I am feeling so much more positive. I hope to continue to be able to find the positive in it all.

Husband is going out of town for work Fri-Wed coming up. I usually use those days to get caught up on stuff and to exercise more - eat less. I hope to do the same this time.

I decided to take a vacation day today to get some things done I've been delaying - go shopping for mirrors for the bath room and some decor accessories for the kitchen, etc. Perhaps a bike ride later, too. So - here's to a good day for my body and mind.

Well, I'm still hanging in there. The house is still just a mess and I am stressing about the amount of $$$ we will have to wind up paying. Also frustraated because husband just says it'll get done when it gets done. How can he stand it! Our daughter doesn't even want to come home, much less have friends over......I am trying to be patient and happy about the end result....but not doing very well at times. June 10th was the date of the accident.

OK enough venting about the house! On the health front - I'm doing ok on exercise still - not so well on food, but better sometimes. I can't focus enough to write everything down. Just too much to deal with for me right now. Maybe if I take control of that, though, I will at least have control over SOMETHING! Hey I may have a great idea here. I need to lose 15 lbs. I have gained about 8 and I still wanted to lose 7 when I started to back slide. That is NOT a lot of weight, and frankly, I think that is why I don't just do it....it's not so much, so I tell myself it's not so bad.....but it can add up so quickly. I have a better attitude about food, right now so maybe the tide will turn.....

Walked a lot this weekend and even ran a little. Would love to get on the bike, but timing is an issue right now.

Maybe even if you can't write it down here on DD, maybe try getting a pretty spiral notebook and keeping track on paper for a while...I used to do that before DD and it did help some....Write down a scripture verse to read througout the day/week at the top of each page to help you realize that God is watching and helping you.....

Have a good day...Try to relax and keep in mind how much nicer things will be when the house is finished..Easier said than done, but worry doesn't change things...I am learning that myself.....

Oh, my mom doesn't encourage me to eat AT ALL. she encourages me to have healthy stuff and lose weight. but I am being weak and eating more.

Yes, when we are doing pretty good, it is so easy to GIVE IN to ourselves, isn't it??? I know...I'm the same way. Stress does have a lot to do with it. Don't be concerned about not posting your menu...you know what it is each day...it is a good idea to keep count of calories for yourself, though. I try to at least do that...helps me to stay on track. Hope you have a good evening, Hollybelle!!!

I hope your house stuff starts to settle down, I am like you..I cannot stand it when the house is out of order. It makes me feel scattered and out of control. Glad that you are still hanging in there, and you are right 15lbs isn't a lot of weight to lose and when you are ready to tackle it..I bet it will FLY off you in a couple of months!

I know everyone must think I fell off the face of the earth! Not the case! I'm still here and doing pretty well just too busy with house renovations and school starting and life in general these days.

I am doing so-so on food, but great on exercise. I am doing 20 minutes on the eliptical trainer every day and walking 30-90 minutes every day plus most days doing ab work on the yoga ball. Boy that yoga ball really works - I got it free when I bought the ET, but I think they run about $20 - if you have room of one - try it. I am amazed at the weather here in KY in AUGUST. It is usually very HOT and ver HUMID, but it's only getting up to low 80s and NO HUMIDITY! What a blessing. I usually totally stay indoors in August/Sept!!

Glad to see your back. We have a yoga ball and I do not use it as much as I should. I love to lay on it and stretch out my back in the morning as it really helps. We are also having cooler weather and this weekend the highs are only going to be in 70's. Of course it is suppose to rain for the next 5 days. Take care and keep on moving!!!!

Glad to see you're doing so well on the workouts. That's probably more important for you now, since 163 is not a really high number. When you get to a place you can be better with food, you'll see the pounds come off. I always feel that when you're falling off the wagon it's easier to focus on one of the two (food and exercise) first and then move on to the other.

As for you question, I don't know. I think sometimes I am not lovable, because I never really had a boyfriend or a relationship other than J, really. He was not even my bf, just dated for a while and were pretty close and active on each other's lives. I tend to think it's because of my weight, and then also I don't have a super pretty face to make up for my weight. I think that's the first thing people look at when it comes to relationships. Chemistry that comes from physical attraction. Of course there's more and that should be the most important and deep part of it, as moral values, common interests, rapport, etc etc, but I feel i never really pass the physical barrier. And I don't feel like it's changing as I lose weight, even though J is a guy who can probably have a lot of cool/pretty girls and one way or another he dedicated a lot of his time to me, even though not the best way at times. So i guess i should look at that as a progress.

Some of my friends like saying I go for the wrong guys, it's the type of thing people say without thinking, especially in my case, because I dated all sorts of guys, poor, rich, good looking, not good looking, etc etc... xoxo

I didn't realize that the weather was so much like S.C. in August in KY...I thought y'all were a lot cooler than us...Hubby's and my favorite vacation we took was in KY in 04. We went to Cumberland Falls State Park Resort (stayed at the lodge there) and had a wonderful time...also went to the one at Lake Cumberland and Buckhorn Lake, too...ever visited them???

the weather here has been gross as well. i do own an ab ball and am starting to use it more regularly! wow! you are doing great with exercise hunny!

Hello all. I am back, AGAIN! Sorry to miss so many days posting, but things are really happening with the repairs of my house. I am in a big mess to say the least and on top of that I have had some MAJOR set backs - health - wise with regard to female type issues - WI2 - I know you can sympathize with that! AGGGGGH was my exact sentiment last Friday! Won't go into detail, but you get the prcture.

Eating has been OK for the most part - I am having a hard time writing everything down since nothing in my life is on schedule - I have no kitchen for the time being and we are living (mostly) in our basement. It could be worse - but it's bad enough. We now have a whole new roof - with NO HOLE in it. The gutters are supposed to go on today or tomorrow and the siding may go on this week, too. We have new outside lights - which my husband picked out, and I don't like - so I have to work on that with him. It's hard to get something that looks decent on our budget - insurance won't pay for new ones because the old ones weren't damaged in the tree accident.

I just keep repeating - it will be worth it in the end, it will be worth it......etc.

As far as exercise - I have been doing some - but, my female issues have me SO TIRED that I can barely walk up the stairs at night. I am back on iron supplements, so maybe that will kick in soon. No giving up - doing the best I can and holding my own.

Been thinking and I think when this is all over I'll get a fresh start with a new DD name - I'll give advance warning, though. Hope this finds you all well. I'll check out your diaries soon. God Bless.

Oh...to have newness in the house you already live in....It will be worth it, as you say. Just hard to feel it when in the middle of chaos...

Yesterday was OK. I'm not sure what the calories were - will post menus and look up the count later. I walked 1.5 hours last night with two dogs and my neighbor/friend.

B: Coffee 150

L: Chicken, Broccoli, Rice

D: 5 bites of chicken burrito and a few chips (10?) and salsa

S: Banana, FF caramel dip 150

S: Icecream Sandwich 100

S: Spec K bar 110, 4 oz 1% milk 40

Yes, I am surely going to start (I ALMOST WROTE 'TRY' to start behaving!!!) behaving myself for sure...I have really been 'LAX' with myself...don't really know why...(weird)...I 'know' what to eat and what not but think that calories in healthy foods (bananas, etc.) are FREE...and eating out calories are free, too, apparently...and I don't know WHY I have given in to eating so much white sugar here lately but that is fixing to change BEGINNING TODAY!!!!

I bought some cracker jack rice cakes the other day and the taste like caramel...Yummy!!!! 60 cals each...

My g'ma ~ what she said that in a joking way, but it still stung a little. I had th choice to allow it to "eat at me" and cry right then or go back at her with the "I"M NOT SO FAT ANYMORE!"... It felt good for a change to stand up and not let it make me cry....I am learning that I am in control of reaction, instead of "crying" all the time....She said it about herself and was in the mode of being funny in her style of course..... I love her no matter, cause I know she would NEVER intentionally hurt me and would actually come close to death if not die if she thought she did hurt me in any way....

Great job on the walking....

Hoping and praying that you are able to stick with yer notions and feel accomplished in what you set out to do.... Good Day!

Now that is a fantastic 1200 calories menu and the 1 and 1/2 hours walking, too! You are doing real good. I know you will be so glad when your house is finished and you have all of that behind you. If I can quit smoking I can lose weight....I just keep telling myself that lol!! there are these special k meal replacement bars that are under 200 cal. i think they are 190 and soooo good. they also have a good amount of fiber. i love them!

Thanks for all your comments on my semi-rant yesterday. Today has been better in that I got so much done around the house. All the laundry caught up and the whole house picked up.

Had to take girl dog (Elle) to the vet yesterday - she has....let's just say "intestinal" problems. She had to have her annual visit so we just did it all at once. Whew - expensive! she is not any better today. Will give it one more day and see how she is. The vet really counld diagnose her. I thought at first that it might be because the men were working in the backyard and that had upset her - she is the easier stressed dog in the family, but she was sick before they even showed up.

Been doing OK on food today. Had iced coffee for breakfast, roast, mashed potatoes and biscuits for lunch. Ordered a pizza for dinner. I don't think that's too bad if that is all I eat and I do easy on the portions of the pizza. My exercise is going up and down the two flights of stairs doing the housework. LOL!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I will try my best to catch up on diaries tomorrow. God Bless in the meantime!

Good evening everyone. Just checking in to say hello today. I am doing OK - have not felt really well yesterday or today. Today is my daughter's 17th birthday. I took off work and husband took off half a day and we went to lunch with her and one of her freinds. The GPs came over this afternoon for cake and presents and she had to work tonight. We are allowing her to go out after work to a campus grill for some food with another one of the instructors and one of their students. She has to be home by 11:45.

I have been doing OK with the food. Not much appetite for cake or anything else, really. I haven't been exercising much. Picked some blackberries in the woods back of the park Wednesday and got eaten up by some kind of bugs even tho I had sprayed myself with OFF head to toe.

Hope to get some yard work done tomorrow. Need to pull weeds and trim some trees in the worse way. Husband says he will help me.

They finally began working on my house from the tree damage.....which happened the first of June! They really had done nothing until today. Two men came to put up scaffolding and one of them crushed his hand between the poles as they were setting it iup and had to be taken to the hospital. While I am very sorry for the man's injury - it feels like my house will NEVER be repaired. Needless to say we are NOT happy with the insurance company's contractor and are about an inch away from firing them and hiring someone else. It has been ridiculous! I know they had to order windows, and other materials, they cannot match our siding and as a result we will get all new siding, which is actually a good thing, but I am tired of everything being out of place and running up and down two flights of stairs to get anything I need. I feel really bad for complaining - considering people who have lost everything in fires, hurricanes, tordados, suffered dire bodily injury due to mother nature, but I'm really for some progress on the house!

On that sweet note I will say bye for now and hope to be hack and in a better mood later.

Sorry to hear about that man...hope he will be okay.

As for your house, you must really be ready to have all of the fixing and all done and behind you to where you can move on and think of other (fun) things to do.

As for the blackberries...I bought some today at the grocery store...they were on sale...I think it was a 2 for 1 deal...regular 3.99..but got 2 for that price...each container had about 1 cupful in them. They were real good, though. My family and I used to go to the back of a field and pick blackberries when I was a kid...I didn't like them then...I picked them and gave them to my Mom, who LOVED them...she liked to make blackberry pies...

I think you will be feeling much better when your house is finished.

Hey Holly! UGH I despise insurance contractors. They did the floors in my condo after the water damage from the broken pipes below. They had to come back ten times AFTER the job was done to correct the things they did wrong. If you feel they should be fired, fire them!

I hope you are feeling better, but I agree with Maria that you will probably start to feel much better when the house is done and you aren't feeling so detached from normal life. Stay strong! Have a good day! =)

It was so WONDERFUL to come back to my diary and see the positive comments from all of you! Thanks so much for hanging in here with me.

I was reminded that there are ups and downs - just don't let the ups get too "UP" - if you know what I mean! LLL (Laugh, Laugh, Laugh)

I didn't so so well Saturday just wanted to lay around and watch TV due to TOM and low energy. Sunday was better and today seems better. I will get some exercise in today for sure.

Holly, just do yourself a big favor and find a little time in each day to post something on DD...Not for us, but for yourself.....Take that time to write down your feelings...We are here for the good & bad times for each other... I had a rough patch last week. Had I not felt I could at least write down my feelings for me, I don't think I could of made it..Honestly I don't....I haven't felt that yucky in a long time. It was mostly hormonal when I reflect upon it, but at least I "got it out" and could see where I was at mentally.....
