Today was more mass confusion on their systems - in a word - they suck.  I know I will learn everything eventually, but nothing is streamlined and everything is so fragmented. But I can do it, I think.

Ill friend's husband is going to spend the night with us tonight if she is doing well later. She started chemo therapy today and he said it been hard.

Haven't overeaten today.  

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L:  Blackened chicken sandwich from Backyard Burger

D:  Rotisserie Chicken and mashed potatoes

Got some mini drumstick ice cream treats and may have one of those later - 140 calories!

Yup!

S:  1 Mini ice cream drumstick

S:  1/2 C cottage cheese and 1 peach

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

First day of new job (Tuesday) went pretty well.  I have SO much to learn, but that's OK. I got to see my office - needs cleaning!  The last person in there was very......dusty!  I will go in a little early tomorrow and try to clean a bit-mostly the keyboard and the PC monitor for heaven sake.   But it is nice.  Big window and trees.  Met my two co-workers - one male one female. They seem OK-so FAR!  I can see I am going to have my work cut out as they have both been there a long time.   

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L:  1/2 Subway tuna sandwich sun chips 

S:  Cookie from Subway lunch

D:  Smoothie

No exercise.  Not very hungry either. 

I and thinking of my friend.

I wound up not going to NKy yesterday after all.  Husband and daughter and SIL went.  I didn't feel much like being with a lot of people due to receiving bad news about a very good friend.  Lots of prayer called for.

I wound up eating some cake, daughter left it for me and not overeating yesterday.  

One more day until new job starts.  I would be so excited if damper not felt by friends news.   

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, two biscuits and one sausage

L:  Chips and salsa, one beef taco

D:  Small serving of chuck roast, one small new potato and green bean, two biscuits with jam

Daughter and SIL going to come to dinner tonight. Made a crock pot roast and will have green beans and new potatoes and cornbread

UPDATE:  I won't say I really overate today, but I ate a lot - much more than I have been...made breakfast for husband and myself then we wound up eating lunch out and then a home cooked dinner at home.  

Friend's husband is staying with our house while she is at the hospital here.  They live over an hour away and it's hard to go back and forth.  Went to see her today.  She was in good spirits, considering.  But the look in her eyes just broke my heart.  Guys and gals - don't sweat the small stuff - most of the stuff we worry about never happens or won't matter in a matter of time. There is no time to waste dwelling on trivial issues.. Keep things in perspective - evaluate your values and make sure you are living by the right priorities.  Thank God for his wonderful gift of grace that He extends to us.  Praise Him everyday!

Hello all!  Didn't post yesterday because was so busy.  I made food for the baby shower which turned out great.  The food and the shower, that is.  I made little poppy seed sandwiches - hot with ham and roast beef.  They are definitely not healthy - but so good. Then I made a big salad with Baby Kale Mix and just a little tossed salad mix to add some crunch, pecans, cranberries and crispy won-tons with homemade poppy seed dressing and a big fruit salad with some fruit dip.  Due to the Labor Day weekend holiday we didn't have as many people as we thought so had lots of good leftover and I bought too much, too.  I will freeze the extra roast beef and ham in small packets and I'll try to give the extra lettuces/kale away - plus take the extra trays of little sandwiches and salad to the family picnic we are going to today.  There will no doubt be pictures on FB later on.  The hostess really did a great job.  They had the MOST delicious cake - a princess cake with white mousse and raspberry layers.  It was wonderful - no fondant icing - marzipan!  It was so wonderful!!!!.  It came from a bakery called European Delights that makes many wonderful things - but I had never had the cake. Husband liked it too so this may be our birthday cakes from now on - they were that good!

How did I do??  I had two small pieces of cake and definitely ate a lot of calories at the shower (didn't nibble while I was cooking), but I only had zucchini for dinner last night. - still didn't balance out the day - but I think it's OK because it was a very special day.  

Today we will go to NKY to visit with husband's family and there will be hamburger hotdogs, picnic stuff - I'll try to keep it reasonable, but I'm sure it will be another big eating day.  I am starting to notice, however, how BAD I feel when I eat bad stuff and that I definitely do NOT like the feeling of being really full and very sweet rich foods really make  me feel bad, too.  Signs of progress.

Ok - last day at current job is over.  Wasn't too bad.  I left at noon because I had to go pick up my birth certificate from my mom's house and go to the social security administration office (joy - joy) to apply for a replacement SS card because I haven't seen mine since 1979.  I know I changed my name when Mark and I got married 23 years ago!  LOL!  But I haven't been asked to produce a SS card for a long long time.  Anyway - got one ordered and can give proof of that to new employer in the meantime.  Only took 2 hours to drive there, wait, be called, get it done and drive back!

I had packed up most of my belongings from my office a little at a time, so all I had to do was finish up and carry boxes to my car.  I handed off the files for the business they are transferring to another agency to the lady who will be in charge of them in the future and that was that.  Now for the next phase of my life.....

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L:  at 3:00 no less!  hotdog and cheese/caramel popcorn - too good!

D:  ???

Going to make food for the big baby shower tomorrow - I am not going to have to serve - just make it and someone is even going to transport it for me!!  Having - little mini ham and roast beef sandwiches with swiss cheese - these are hot with mustard and poppy seeds - delish, big fruit salad and big tossed salad-then the hostesses are providing drinks and cake and cupcakes.  It's at 2:00-4:30 so in between lunch and dinner.  

Sunday will have family Labor Day cookout at the Ohio river at Mark's cousin's house - fireworks on the river - big time!  So many, many, many food opportunities this long weekend.  Will do my best not to undo all the good I've done the last 3 months or so!   I really like feeling like I feel NOW!

Thursday official post - confession is good for the soul.

I was getting so  bend out of shape over my current job situation and all the things I was doing to prepare to leave there and I couldn't figure out why - sure there were frustrations with the PC dying at a really inopportune time, but I was over reacting to an extent and I couldn't quite understand why.  It was a matter of my (false) pride - afraid of losing face if the new agents don't cut the mustard so to speak and  say negative things about me when I leave to the current employer.  Dumb, right?  I know what I have done under the circumstances and I know I can hold my head up.  So......better day today, I hope.

B:  Iced vanilla coffe

L:  My current employer is ordering in lunch today from PF Chang and having dessert for my lst day tomorrow! Good thing I ate really light yesterday, huh?    Very nice of them! UPDATE - Ate 2/3 of Singpore Street Noodles, piece of coconut cake and a sample of this orange fluffy dessert which was good.  They really went to some trouble for me.  Flowers - a dozen roses and some yellow mums, a card signed by all and everyone posed for a picture which  posted on FB page.  

D:  Peach and cottage cheese

Husband been gone since Saturday morning and coming home tonight!  Yay!  UPDATE:  Husband is home. 

Last day of work tomorrow.  I have to apply for a new SS card!  My new employer requires one and I haven't had a hard copy in decades!!!  They will let me work if I provide evidence that I have applied for one within 3 day of employment.  The on line instructions are confusing about how to apply for a replacement.

I agree with legcramps- its not dumb at all, and there's always going to be a lot of fear attached to major life changes- even if those changes are positive! well done for speaking about it! Hope its a little easier today

Wednesday was an awful day at work - details include my PC having a thermal event and a basic meltdown and they will not replace it because I am leaving in 2 more days.  So.........I am working on my phone email and forwarding any important things to a co worker's PC so I can work it.  Putting the final touches on getting the business ready to pass off to another agency.

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L: 1 Cup  Cottage Cheese

D:  small BBQ sandwich at home and a few bites of peaches and a small bowl of granola with 1/2 banana

Not much appetite when  I am this stressed.  I am doing OK, though.  Prayer getting me through to patches of peace.  Feeling bombarded.  But I will find the way to even out.  Long weekend ahead.  New job starts Tuesday. 

Daughter came over with the dog during the evening and kept me company.  Her husband was working late out of town and she didn't have anything better to do, I guess - LOL- seriously glad she came.

Yesterday is updated.  Finished out with very good calories and healthy foods for the most part.  Very emotional week at work and on top of that mother is going through something only an almost 79 year old can go through - I know I can't really relate and it's hard to "be there" for someone who mostly pushes everyone away out of life-long habit.  Sigh - God helps me get through each and every day.  Praise be to the Father!

So, today I plan to eat lunch in the office and get some work finished, take a nice long walk in the evening with the dogs and relax!

B:  Iced Vanilla Coffee, boiled egg

L: boiled egg, chicken salad, tomato, peach;

D:  smoothie, 4 bites of scalloped potatoes

S:  PBJ on 80 cal bread

UPDATE:  Sorry if the earlier post paragraphs above seemed too negative or down - don't get me wrong - I welcome and will take all the prayer but I was just kind of sounding out frustrations of life.  Thanks EVERYONE for your concern and prayer  I'll take it and I appreciate it!  Love you all!

RYC Thanks yeah my workouts are not only the highlight of my day they are also non negotiable.. Yep I have a fan and I thank my lucky stars for it..Unfortunately the A/C guy didn't make it today, I am pretty sure I am bottom of the list since the visit should be a freebie since he allegedly "fixed the issue" a little over a month ago and they are supposed to be a reputable company.. Not going to stress about it but if they don't show tomorrow, I will be forced to go beast on them..Hahahaha Good evening <3

Yesterday was OK overall calories - but had a candy meltdown - got that out of my system.  I thought I would control the sweet tooth with the chili chocolate like yesterday, but I had a weak moment!  iI guess I could have blown it all together for the day - but held it together.  I guess this isn't the best nutrition, but maybe it is an OK way to eat some days.

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, turnips and 2 bites of cottage cheese

L:  Grilled Salmon, green beans, rice and carrots

D:  1 Mango, 6 crackers with a tiny bit of pimento cheese

S:  1/4 C granola

Last week of work at current job.  Praying for a graceful exit and a nice long weekend and good start to new job next week!

Yes, V - thanks. I did pretty well. I ordered some dress pants on line a couple of weeks ago and have hemmed them but needed some sweaters to make summer/fall clothes work as we go into cooler weather. I think I'm set - but will probably need a couple pair of shoes. I am a bargain shopper so it won't set me back too much! LOL!

I had a busy day yesterday.  Did great on food.  Had a hotdog that was not good nutrition, but kept calories in check!  Lots of exercise walking at the Mall (where I never go!!), but ran into my cousin whom I have not seen in years and years and we had a nice chat.  

Breakfast is non-traditional for sure...

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, turnips with tiny bit of butter and salt & pepper!  YUM  will eat a bite or tow of cottage cheese for protein in a minute!

L: 6 34 degree wafers & chicken salad,

S:  5 peanut and caramel candy!!!  Then 4 yogurt covered pretzels and  8 peanuts and raisins covered with chocolate !   Dang - ruined - but got it out of my system, I think!

D: 1 cracker with pimento cheese, 2 bites of chicken chili (daughter made it - too hot) and a medium sized salad made same as last night....

Going to church with husband's cousin's wife......

More later - have a good Sunday!
