(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Saturday was a small blip on the screen, but got back on track Sunday.  This week will be no different on the food scene.  I am going to follow good eating habits and lose the rest of the weight that is slowing me down!  There is a 40% chance of showers today and tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 80's.  Cool for this time of year, but Oh So Humid!  Hope I can get some biking done on the roads tonight as the trails are too muddy to ride and will rut.  Not a good thing!

Should give my notice at current job today or tomorrow.  As soon as I hear back from the new job that I passed the drug test, physical, etc.  and get the final, firm, official offer!  Then to bring in the person I have in mind for my job!

Win/Win/Win situation, I hope!  I win = new job, my current employer wins = capable replacement, my replacement wins = new improved work situation and opportunity!

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, 1/4 C cottage cheese

L:  Chili dog - oh, oh - but that was ALL I had.  It was POURING rain - as in cats and dogs and that was all that was around.

S:  1/2 C cottage cheese

D:  Sm  servings of pork roast, mashed potatoes, slaw, green beans yum - good meal.

S:  Peach

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 08/12/2013:
It looks like your monthly averages are always the same. Are you really maintaining this ? I think You're a Winner, Holly !

hollybelle on 08/12/2013:
Oh, I don't update the scale thing on here because I do not weigh! I have scales-phobia! Drs and nurses aren't allowed to tell me my weight or talk to me about it, either - sends me into fits!

OArecovery on 08/12/2013:
Good luck with the job situation- I hope it all goes well! Is sounding really positive :)

legcramps on 08/12/2013:
Congrats on the new job and the whole situation - it really sounds like you're super excited about starting something new!

Umpqua on 08/12/2013:
Sounds like things are going great for you, wahoo!

Maria7 on 08/12/2013:
Sounds like you've got all your ducks in a row. Happy for you! :-D Thanks for your comment last nite...really helped!

hollybelle on 08/12/2013:
My pleasure!

Maria7 on 08/12/2013:
No scupponongs yet? And it is AUGUST! Well, surely they should be there just any moment! This season, for some reason, when I get them at the farmers market, it is like I have to fan lots of flies away (very unsanitary) to pick out the ones I want (the bronze semi-soft ones are my favs)...and at our farmers market, everybody digs in with their hands into the large boxes of grapes and picks out the ones they want and puts them in the see-thru bags. I clean mine real good before I eat them after I get them home! Is it that way at your farmers market???

hollybelle on 08/12/2013:
We usually get ours around the 15th of August and it's exactly like that, Maria! I wash my really well, too. It's kind of sad, they are not a best seller here. I love them, though.

Girl I don't know about you but Sundays are always the worse for me as far as waking up far too early and not being able to fall back asleep( that's really the only day I actually have time to sleep as long as I want, go figure,LOL)

Anyhoo happy to hear you had a good weekend Holly <3

hollybelle on 08/12/2013:
Maybe we should go to bed Saturday night and "pretend" that we have to get up early on Sunday so maybe we'd oversleep???? Then again, maybe we are just anxious to enjoy our days off?

I didn't fill in the menus from yesterday mostly because I can't remember exactly all that I ate.  I overate a little but, but not that much, really.  Just more than I have been eating.  Worked pretty hard around the house - more rain here.  I don't think it will ever stop!  Very wet year for us.  Going to clean up some upstairs today and get ready for the week.  It ought to be an interesting one as I  will probably give my notice at current job this week.  I hope it goes well with the person I have elected to suggest to replace me.  I think they will probably just be glad I have someone in mind for them, but I don't think they will be happy altogether as they have grown comfortable with me.  They have been very good to me and this job has been good for me, but it's time to move on.

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, Cereal 1/2 banana

L:  Soup, drumstick ice cream cone

D:  1/2 chicken salad sandwich

Got a lot done, but not as much as I wanted. Husband's cousin and his wife stopped by to borrow pressure washer and stayed 2 1/2 hours.  I enjoyed the visit, though.

Big week ahead.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 08/11/2013:
Mornin' Holly. I've been watching the rain just south of us keeping you guys wet. It'll keep that Bluegrass growing. I use an app called "Diary" for Android and fill in what I eat every day. Your probably right about my appetite. My body might be seeking more fuel. Take Care.

Maria7 on 08/11/2013:
I hope you are having a good Sunday, Hollybelle. :-)

Pretty good day yesterday.   Calories were ok.  No exercise.  Made a hugh pot of ground beef cabbage bean soup.  Going to share with my friend who is working two jobs right now.  She requested it.  It's the least I can do to help her out. Was SO tired so went to bed early.  Slept well.  Got up this morning and went to the bank and grocery to get coffee creamer!  Started another load of clothes and made breakfast

B:  Blueberry pancakes (3) and maple syrup, few bites of cottage cheese, iced vanilla coffee

hollybelle on 08/10/2013:
Yes, the soup is good. It has ground beef or ground turkey and also tomatoes, onions, salsa....yum!

Maria7 on 08/10/2013:
That ground beef cabbage bean soup sure sounds DELISH! Sweet of you to to that to help your friend. Sounds like you're having a good Saturday. :-)

hollybelle on 08/11/2013:
It was good, Maria - Although I made a huge stock pot full I shared a lot - my friend and my daughter - it's almost gone! I love making soup. It's a great thing to share, too - we eat it mostly in fall and winter, but all year is fine!

Didn't go to Zumba.  I was too tired from not sleeping enough the night before. :-(

Food was good.  I ate a really late lunch.  I think the physical went ok.  it was not big deal, although I worry about the eye exam.  I couldn't read very low on the eye chart with my glasses. But I don't know how all that works,

B:  Iced vanilla coffee.

L:  Cottage Cheese, greens, peach and a little cantaloupe

D:  Soup, pretzels and 2 mini drumstick ice cream treats!

Tired - went to bed early and slept well!

Good day yesterday on food.  Nothing stopping me now.

B:  Tea, hard boiled egg

L:  2 brisket tacos, few bites of greens - yum yummmmm!

D:  Drumstick ice cream

S:  a few grapes

I will go have the pre-employment physical this afternoon.  If that goes well (AND if I passed the background check - LOL) I will get their official offer and give my notice to current employer.

Taking the Agent on line test for Healthcare Reform from home this morning - mostly so I can help the guy I work with and the lady that is interested in my job - could have stalled, but want to go out doing everything I can for them.

Considering going to Zumba at 6:00 again tonight since I haven't exercised much at all this week.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Updated yesterday - good day for food.  We went to the park for the free jazz concert and our big dog, Smokey saw a golden retriever he wanted to go visit and actually PULLED me up out of my chair and DOWN to the ground and DRAGGED me on the grass.  The leash rubbed a big chunk of skin off my little finger and a big bruise on my upper leg.  Thought I might be more sore this morning, but I'm OK.  Ouch!

In case you didn't see it already - I got the job.  Life will change for me drastically in the next few weeks.  I have to tell my current employer and see if they want to hire my girlfriend.

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, 1 hard boiled egg

L: Salmon, broccoli, rice and green beans

D:  Cottage Cheese and peaches a  few concord grapes

Church group tonight.....

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 08/07/2013:
I'm sorry you got dragged around, skinned up and banged up...but I think It's kinda encouraging to know you've kept yourself skinny enough for a dog to drag you across a park. Sorry Holly. I just gotta smile at some of this. Have a Great day.

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
Ya gotta laugh sometime!

grannyannie on 08/07/2013:
Ouch! Congrats on the job! That's fantastic.

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
Thanks!

Maria7 on 08/07/2013:
Good morning, Hollybelle. Wow, you must have a really large dog. Sorry you got hurt and hope you are soon better. Did he get to visit with the golden retriever? :-) Happy for you about your new job (and I prayed). Hope you have a good day.

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
Yes, he's very big - 100+ pounds - black lab. He did get to stiff the retriever up close, too!

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
that would be SNIFF!

Umpqua on 08/07/2013:
Oh geez, I guess Smokey was really excited! I saw your updated about your Mom yesterday too, and that's really great. Gives me encouragement that some day I'll have a similar experience with my own!

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
How nice it is to know that sharing my "mom" experiences may have helped someone along the way. She is def a challenge - has been all my life. But I guess there s hope.

skinnygrlwithin on 08/07/2013:
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU FOR THE JOB!!!! As for smokey, he must have had a serious crush on that pup haha... sorry you had to be dragged though for him to go hang out.

hollybelle on 08/07/2013:
Thanks and LOL!

horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2013:
sorry about the retriever injury! who would have known that they are that harmful to humans! lol, but yes, I hope you recover soon!

Updated yesterday's post.......didn't do bad - the cookies are almost gone, thank goodness!  I will NOT buy anymore for a LONG LONG time.  Didn't do all that badly at the restaurant - the eggplant wasn't all that good to me.

B:  Iced Van Coffee

L:  Cottage Cheese and 1 peach

D:  ????  Giving husband the rest of the eggplant from last night  UPDATE-1/2 can Amy's chunky tomato bisque with 1 T sour cream and 5 cookies- ok cookies are GONE!

****Well, I heard from the interviews and......drumroll, please......I got the job!  Contingent upon a background check and a drug screening (they are a healthcare facility - a very large medical practice with about 1300 employees and adding more all the time).  I am excited, but apprehensive at the same time.  More hours is the main thing, but if I am busy and learning new things, I THINK it will be just what I need.  Spoke to them about  time off when the baby is born and they said we'd work something out - even if it is days w/o pay.  So now to get this place I work now set up for my departure.....please please pray this is best thing for ALL concerned.  I really do not want to make a mistake about a job at this point in my life!  I guess you can never be 100% sure and I am fairly certain I'll like it.  So.....I am about to take the LEAP of FAITH!

Oh, and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed dinner with my mom last night.  Although food was not very good, mom was In a good mood and it was as close to a "normal" experience I've ever had with her.  Sounds weird, but that's how it is.  Makes me happy and hopeful.  Never put anything past God - when it comes to healing relationships - he can work in mysterious ways, indeed!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 08/06/2013:

Congratulations on your new job! So happy for you! I will pray, too. And that is wonderful about your outing with your Mom...how everything went real well and all. Thanks for your comment, also.

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Well, I had a busy weekend, cleaning house!  Mostly did that non-stop.  Ate weird stuff since husband was out of town.  Didn't do any other exercise, except walk on Saturday - which I don't think I posted about.  But all in all not a really bad weekend on food or exercise.

Tonight I will break my boring food (cottage cheese and X) habit as I am going out to eat with my mother to a very nice Italian restaurant.  I will try to be sensibl e as I can at a great restaurant.

B:  Smoothie, Iced vanilla coffee

L:  Hot dog - had to go to Sam's at lunch and very very small piece of angel food cake for a co-worker's birthday - no icing

D:  Salad with BV dressing and 1/4 of eggplant parmesan - it wasn't that good, 1 piece of bread with butter

S:  4 thin cookies

Probably will get in a small walk with the dogs. - NO walk.....

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 08/05/2013:
Be careful with that spaghetti. There was a time in my life when that was all I ate. And it showed. CottageCheese is NOT boring. It's the last thing I eat at night and I really look forward to it. Have a good time with Mom.

grannyannie on 08/05/2013:
I eat things my hubby doesn't like when he's away.

Angel food cake is very low cal.

V on 08/05/2013:

Maria7 on 08/06/2013:
Hope you had a nice evening out with your Mother. :-)

Maria7 on 08/06/2013:
PS...have you had any scupanong grapes up there in KY yet? I went to our local farmers market last week and got some and they are soooooo good! :-)

biscottibody59 on 08/06/2013:
Good Italian can't be beat--hope it was a good time!

I hope the vacuum fulfills your needs. I have a Dyson upright that is about 10 years old now--it's still going--I should replace some of the hoses at the bottom, but have just duct-taped them and it still works just fine. I don't LOVE mine, but it does the job--haha! I keep expecting it to just stop.

Your entry reminded me--I oughta just order the hoses already:-)

I also have a really old Kirby that I keep in good working order and it really is still a workhorse (when I've used it for carpets or floor). I have an authorized dealer that keeps it going for me. It's nice to have something like that that hasn't become obsolete or just a crummy old "throwaway."

RYC: I hear you on the peace of mind thing. I think being mindful of it is helpful--we'll never reach perfection, but it is good to notice when it's better than usual.

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Did OK yesterday.  I splurged on little crisp cookies and an old fashioned Coney Island at a decades old greasy spoon establishment - I was in the neighborhood.  But did great for the rest of the day

Exercise was house cleaning - taking advantage of husband being gone.  Also - have been thinking of purchasing a really good vacuum cleaner- exciting, right?  And stopped by the sales office yesterday and bought one.  Got a Miele canister type and it seems to be doing a very good job with ease of use, in case you want one, too.  To give you an idea of how long I had been putting this off - my last vacuum was a Kirby in 1981 - it was about 4 years old when I bought it!!!   We use it and  Kenmore canister that is 8 years old I bought just because I needed another one.  It has lost it's pizzaz to say the least.

Have more house work to do today - yes the house was in REALLY bad shape.

I am also distressed because my flowers out front seem to be dying prematurely.  We have lost the cherry tree to fungus, apparently, but now the flowers in the front bed and the big pots on the porch look awful!  I am supposing it is because of all the rain, etc., but I don't know!  Weird and it makes me sad.

Well, off to get at it!

B:  Iced Vanilla Coffee, cottage cheese and peach (again!!)

L:  Smoothie

D:  Peach nd cottage Cheese - again

S:  Late got into the cookies again - thank goodness they are small and thin...

overall not too bad, though

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 08/04/2013:
I get a lot done when hubby gone for a few days as well.

My last vacuum died a few months ago and I got a Dyson. Love it.

Umpqua on 08/05/2013:
Congrats on the new vacuum, I hope it serves you well! I've had horrible luck with canister vacs and uprights. We have an Electrolux central vac system that was put in when this house was built (late 70s) and it's fantastic. I had it serviced once and it's more powerful than any of the other vacs I've owned. The older I get the more I realize what inferior products we have available these days compared to a few decades ago!

hollybelle on 08/05/2013:
Yes, I haven't had a good vacuum since the Kirby was new! My mom loved her ancient Electrolux, but the new ones aren't as good, she says. I'd love to have central vac, but no - not in this house.

I didn't hear from the job again yesterday.  I really expected to.  I don't understand.  My contact there asked ME to interview.  Has been coaching me along the way and told me the extra $$ I am asking for is not a problem.  It's not much over their range and with my experience they have to understand that.  I went ahead and ordered a Thank You card for both the people I've interviewed with - I belong to an on line card service - it's very handy.  So who knows, maybe I'll know more about it next week.  I have gone from nervous about getting it to nervous about NOT getting it!!  I do want the job.  I do.  I. do not want to do my job in the next year.  I do not.  But not to worry - really - it's all in God's hands.  This popped up out of nowhere and perhaps it's a test for me to be patient and trust in Him.  I will rest in these thoughts and quit trying to figure it out.

On the fitness and health side of things - I am so happy with the changes I see in my body. It seems like this week all my month-long hard work is beginning to pay off.  Noticed my midriff first, as I said the other day and now even my arms and legs are looking better to me.  I think I have more energy, too - which is a definite plus.  If I could get my right foot to heal completely I would be even more active.  Time, time will tell.  It almost makes me wish I weighed in to see what I've lost - LOL - ALMOST!!

Anyway - husband is leaving around 11:00 today for business trip - will be home Tuesday.  Yay-means I will have the weekend to myself.  We'lll see what I can think of to do with girlfriends, etc.  Should be interesting.

I'll get a bike ride in for sure.  Weather looks lovely - not sure about the humidity yet - will go have my coffee outside and check it out!!

B:  Iced vanilla Coffee, small cottage cheese and peach

L:  Old fashioned Coney Island from local decades old greasy spoon establish and diet coke

S:  Annie cookies - 1/2 a sleeve - they are very very thin - almond flavor - my treat for the week

D:  Peach and cottage cheese - I am so boring - but it tastes so good.

Exercise was house cleaning.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 08/03/2013:
Crossing my fingers and toes that you get the job, Holly! Woohoo for positive body changes!

Enjoy your bike ride. I enjoy getting time to myself when hubby takes a trip for a day or two.

hollybelle on 08/03/2013:
Thanks, Annie. Me, too. I am afraid they want someone to take the would be bosses place as she is bound to retire in a few years and we are about the same age....so....could be making them hesitant.

michgal on 08/03/2013:
Congrats on the body changes! looking forward to seeing what your weigh in shows...

hollybelle on 08/03/2013:
Hahahahaha, michgal, that is the joke. those who have been on DDs a long time have heard me tell how weighing "freaks me out". I don't do it. I weigh only when the doctor makes me! I just go by my clothes and leave it at that. So I was making a little joke above. The numbers really just make me nutz so I ignore them!!

biscottibody59 on 08/03/2013:
Good to have noticeable and wanted changes! Keep up the good work!
