Yay for me yesterday - I did a Zumba class - free and close to my house.  It was at a church.  Good instructor.  Small class, but nice group of ladies.  I was rusty but I kept moving and did OK.  Food was really good - in part due to getting home late and nervous about the whole job situation thing........I want to change jobs - this is a great opportunity in many ways - different field, but would use my knowledge in different way - big company, fair salary (more than I make for the additional hours I'd be working), great benefits,chance for advancement  BUT, it would be 5 or more, more hours per week, I would not have the flexibility of schedule running my own show I have now, our parents are aging and need us more and going to be a GRANDmother soon and afraid I will be giving up a little too much babysitting time, I love my employers now, but am very concerned about the future of a small health insurance agency in the healthcare reform world that is coming up, and I think I know someone who would consider taking my place, how much longer am I really going to want to work at age 59, anyway??-forever???.......So there are about an even # of pros and cons.....then, again, they haven't offered me the job for sure, yet. 

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L:  Supposedly with my friend again (the one who may take my job if I change)

Had a a great lunch of fried green tomatos, kale, corn and 1/2 a corn bread stick - no butter!

S:  5 crackers and chicken salad

D:  1/2  spaghetti with tomato sauce and 1/4 chicken breast

Nice job getting some zumba'ing in! Very tough decision for you regarding new job/leaving old job. I am considering applying for a different position as well, leaving the health region I currently work for and moving to another one in another city. Whole nother universe it seems. But sometimes we need to change in order to focus and get closer to our ultimate goals. What are yours?

To retire soon! Hahahaha...but good point - goal is to transition out of the health insurance industry before Healthcare Reform hits here. To use knowledge and skills for another purpose. This does it. I don't know why I am questioning it so much!

Yesterday was another good day.  I didn't exercise because I got home so late and was tired, but food was good.  I think I am managing to exercise about 4 days a week - nothing intense like I used to do 1 or 2 of those days, but 1-2 of those days I am doing something a little more intense (BMX).  At least it's something.  Most important thing food is so much better, even though I am eating the same thing most lunches, it satisfies me.  Main thing!!

B:  Iced Vanilla Coffee,

L: Cottage Cheese, peach and 15 grapes

D:  cantaloupe, 1/3 sauted chicken breast,

S:  1/2 C cherry vanilla granola cereal dash of FF Half n Half

at 4:00 today I have interview.  We'll see how it goes.

UPDATE:  ARGGGHHHH:  I had interview and it went fine.  Great in spots - OK in others - interviewer complimented me several times.  Keep in mind I have not been without a job or even had but 2 interviews in 34 years!!  But I swear, I couldn't tell if they are likely to REALLY offer me the job or not.  So, who knows!!

Handled my anxiety with a ZUMBA class.  It was good.  On concrete floors, for heaven sake, though!  It was free and close to my house so all in all a good deal!

OMG, V - I have decided I don't EVEN know if I want the darn job. It makes sense on one side, but really, not on the other. I am just so afraid of getting back into a rat race again and with the gbaby coming and all....I don't know. Am I nuts?

I think the interview went well, but I wish I had asked more questions. Sometimes we don't say enough in those situations for fear of saying the wrong thing. I thought I'd get a call today, but not yet.....

Good morning!  Walked 20 minutes last night and didn't update post....so little Yay for some activity!

L:  Cottage Cheese and Canteloupe and a peach - friend didn't confrim on lunch  

D:  Not sure yet - have church ladies tonight - my friend I brought into the group is bringing another lady!!  The good just keep on coming!  Husband will be home tonight!

UPDATE:  small piece of swiss steak and 1/4 C mashed potatoes, flan

Good morning!  I had a good day yesterday with food.  At first I thought I ate too much dinner, but looking back it was fine.  I didn't do any exercise. Just no energy by the time I got off work, went to the grocery for a few things and got home and made dinner, did  a load of laundry and cleaned up a little.  Although the weather was beautiful.  I didn't want to walk as my foot was hurting badly from the 2 hour walk Sunday.  Will do something tonight. 

I can tell that my "middriff" area has shrunk a bit.  That feels good.  Incentive to keep at it!   

Heard back from the job I interviewed for - final interview Thursday at 4:00. 

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, smoothie

L:  boiled egg, tiny amount of Asian slaw, cottage cheese

D:  chicken salad and 8 crackers

S:  cereal

20 minute walk with dogs - husband is out of town.

Yeah for shrinking midriff! Hope your foot feels better. I've had plantar fasciitis before. Not fun. Good arch support helps a lot.

Yes, Annie - I am finding that out. I cannot tolerate shoes that do not have strong support in the arch and I put them in if they don't. Learning. There also some exercises that were recommended to me by another P.F. "sufferer" but I'm not real regular on those, yet.

Thanks, V. I am excited and nervous at the same time. It would be a little more $$ and a little more hours. It is in an entirely different field than I am in now - Human Resources - working in benefits for a large physician practice (1200+ employees). It is so hard to transition to another field especially at my AGE! I am so glad they contacted me, and I think there is a really good chance I will get an offer, coming this far and not getting it would be a little sad. But if it's not really meant to be.....also, I would hate to leave the people at my current job. I've been there 8+ years but I'm ready to move on. There is a lot to learn in my current job because of healthcare reform, but I need a change. Sorry for the novel!!

L:  Cottage Cheese and tomato and tiny, tiny bit of Asian salad and 1 boiled egg

D:  Chicken Salad, 3 slices of tomato, 2 corn on the cob, 1/2 blueberry corn muffin, flan

Going to make sure I drink water today.

10 minutes of weights, ride or walk

2 mile walk with dogs yesterday.  Food was not bad.  I kind of had a sugar fit late yesterday.  Flan for 130 cals, granola bar and a cookie for 240 = 370 in sugar calories.  Not sure why other than I didn't plan dinner because husband wasn't around and  I just nibbled away......better food for today. 

B: Iced vanilla coffee, 2 LF WW waffles and blackberry/raspberry jam

L:  BBQ sandwich, Asian slaw - YUM!!

S:  Blueberry Corn Muffin

Other:  "ALO" Aloe Drink!  Delicious!  120 cals, though!

D:  Small piece of swiss steak and 1/4 c mashed potatos

S:  Granola Cereal - Cherry flavored from my fave food coop!

Very unseaonably cool weather here.  Great since yesterday was so  muggy and nasty.  Bike ride on the horizon.  Smile!

UPDATE 12:12 p.m.  Beautiful day - out did myself on exercise (for my record lately at least) rode the bmx trail up in the park again and rode the green (easier) trail twice and rode the blue (more difficult) trail once.- at least 8 miles!!  No doubt the blue trail is a challenge.  Didn't get my gearing right and had to stop a couple of times and push with my foot.  Also got caught on a stump with my left pedal and threw me off going downhill into a slight turn and almost wiped out a bit - grabbed a small tree with my forearm and kind of pulled my shoulder and upper arm (bicep) tomorrow and the next day will tell if any damage done.  Took ibuprophen!  Was gone over an hour and it kicked my butt!

THEN this afternoon I walked for an hour an a half with my friend.  Woo-Hoo on exercise for me!

Had another good food day yesterday!  Also walked 2 miles with husband and dogs.  Planning  trail ride on the bike this morning.  Yay!

B:  Iced vanilla coffee (one day off from this is enough!) 2 LF WW Waffles with jam

L:  BBQ sandwich and bun  180 calories for this thanks to portion control and 80 cal bun!

S:  2 slices cantaloupe

D:  Odd stuff - Cottage Cheese and avocado, peanut butter and 5 pretzels, Carmel Flan (130 cals for Flan thanks to Ramundo)

S:  Granola bar and 1 cookie!!!

We are helping Mark's cousin move into their rental house late this afternoon.  May try to make some dinner and take it over, too.  Or go out to eat - hehehehehe!

Gotta run and make my coffee and let the dogs out - reverse order, actually!

It's a real Frog Strangler here in the Ohio Valley, Holly. No bike riding today ! My bike is a 21 speed Shwinn Aluminum frame. I use an App called MapMyRide to calculate my mileage and stuff. My ride to work is 5.58 miles. Plus a 12 minute walk from the gate to my office. It's a great routine if the weather cooperates. Have a great ride, Holly.

Yeah, great routine. I wish I could ride bike to work. My close enough(for now) but I would have no way to clean up once there, change clothes, etc. Oh, well, maybe someday I will be able to bike to work. That would be cool! Good to be able to fit exercise in such a natural way!

Finally getting to sit down and post about my day.  THANKS for all your prayers and comments about MIL. If you didn't read yesterday's update - it was a good report.  There is an area they are keeping an eye on - and she will have another scan 2 months from now instead of 3, but we'll take it!

Another good food day -

B:  Smoothie - shock - no iced vanilla coffee!

L:  cottage cheese with tomato

S:  Peach

S:  6 cheese crackers

D:  very small piece of swiss steak, 1/4 C mashed potatoes, Asian chopped salad

S:  Plan to eat cantaloupe later after walk with husband and dogs.

Good day!!  I have had quite a few in a row!

Also - I had a call from my contact that suggested I interview for the HR job - She said they will have final interviews next week - her boss has been out of town for 2 weeks and they plan to have it down to 2 candidates and have her boss interview both - I am one of the candidates.  She wanted to know what dates I was available so she could try to mesh with bosses schedule.  ANOTHER thing - I MAY have talked one of my friends into taking my job - I think it would be a good match and help her out as well as allow me to leave with a good conscience.  I really hate to leave there in so many ways - but.....

Yesterday is updated and it was another good food day.  No exercise at all, though.  Although the weather was great, I was too busy - should have gone out after dark for a walk, but.....

Today going to work 1/2 day and go to Cincinnati area to take MIL to her appointment. Thanks for all the support on her  behalf. Keep praying, please.  For those who don't already know - MIL has completed aggressive treatment for cervical cancer a few months ago and has had one post-treatment scan that was clear and the second she had on Monday this week and results are today.  She also suffered insufficiency fractures of her lower spine as result of intense radiation treatments.

B:  Iced vanilla coffee

L:  Wendy grilled chicken sandwich - plain

D: Steak and 1/2 sm salad

S:  Cheese wafers

UPDATE:  First of all MIL's report was good.  Apparently there is an area the doc is keeping an eye on, but for not it appears to be OK.  Second of all Boy oh Boy I resisted so much junk today!!!!! Cookies, candy, rolls with butter at dinner, you name it - I didn't have ANY of it.  Another good food day! Thank you for your prayers and support though my trying times.  Really love you guys!

not to be nosey, but did your MIL go for pap tests regularly? i'm only asking because i did not go for my first one til i was 35 yrs old! the doctor said i was the oldest woman she ever had who never had one... i was terrified something would be wrong and that i did not catch it in time. it came back normal along with the one i had almost a year ago. i'm due again in a couple of months. i had a doctor phobia for many years. i wouldn't even get a routine blood test for 11 yrs at that point. i'm still working on my 'medical health' phobias but i've come a long way and am much better. my mom was the same way. she did not get a mammogram for 20 yrs and was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and passed 5 months later. i will say a prayer for your MIL that she will stay cancer free!

Thank you for your prayer, Michgal. No, MIL did not get regular paps probably hadn't had one since my bro in law was born 50 years ago. She was stage 3b when they caught it and they couldn't do a hysterectomy at that point. A very complicated case. I am so glad you are conquering your doctor/medical fears. It's so not worth it not to get the tests we all need. My dad passed of colon cancer last year - he was stage 4 and lived a year with treatment. If he had gotten his colonoscopies like recommended he would not have lost his life. It's not fun, but just gotta suck it up and go. There may be a little bad news along the way, but usually NOT, and it's so much better news EARLY on than later on!!!

MIL had the intense radiation treatment at UC, so we might have seen ex at one time or another, but her regular onco doc is out of St Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. We think he is great. In laws live in Covington/Latonia right across the river. Daughter was treated in Cincinnati Children's 8 years ago - good hospitals.

Yesterday ended well.  Not the healthiest foods for dinner last night but not bad calorie wise and enjoyed the concert in the park.  So blessed that summer events like this are only 10 min away from our house.  Dogs love going with us - Elle is OK.  Must have been hard to wake up husband in the middle of the night.  Both dogs will go in kennels at night and a short walk right before bedtime.  They get a long walk almost every day.

Please pray for my MIL - get her test results back tomorrow at 2:30.  I have been elected to go with them.  FIL is hard of hearing and family thinks someone else should be there and husband doesn't think he can go.  So....she is continuing to struggle with the insufficiency fractures in her low spine and pelvis.  Some days are better, though.

B:  Iced Vanilla coffee

L:  Something with - you guessed it - cottage cheese!/Ate Cottage Cheese and peach and 1/2 avacado.  Sounds weird, but was delicious, 2 br rice and bean triscuits, 5-6 cherries

S:  Plum

D:  Weird stuff - bowl of cereal with 1/2 peach with dash of FF half n Half, small piece of swiss steak I make for MIL/FIL and for us for TOMORROW night.  

Probably will make some food for In Laws to take to them tomorrow along with fresh peaches and tomatos.  Those are their favorites - and green beans..
