Onward and upward.  Ate too much last 4 days, especially Fri & Sat.  Sun was better.  I also did lots of yardwork and walking on Sat and Sun so all that activity counted for something.  Walked 3 miles on Saturday - my heel let me know it, too.  Did all kinds of yard work Sun from 9:00 to 3:00 - woo-hoo - got a good jump on the work for the family Memorial Day picnic.

We should know more about the insurance situation for husband's auto accident.  The young woman who hit him got a ticket for failing to yield right of way and innatentive driving.  She is only 21 years old and had a 2 year old with her - moving from MN to NC.  Bless her heart. Just so glad no one was hurt at all.

Mother's day was ok.  Did all the yardwork and then Mom and I went to the cemetary and put flowers on graves of great grand, grands and my brother and father.  Anyway - that is not morbid, to me.  We have done it every year for decades.  Usually have it done before Mother's Day, though.  We went to eat with daughter and SIL afterwards and I got gas for Mom's car and brought stuff up from the basement she needed.

Planning on walking or biking tonight - it turned cold again and got down to around 37 here last night!  Unreal.

Eating will be much better this week and exercise will be, more yardwork and other activities......

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 05/13/2013:
Good luck with insurance co. and have a great day.

hollybelle on 05/13/2013:
Thanks.

thenewMLE on 05/13/2013:
Sounds like you are at least getting some productive exercise with the yard work! It so satisfying when you can see that you made a difference. I hope insurance will settle soon so hubby can get his new car fixed! What do you think of this strange weather patterns? WE hit 36 last Friday night and I was primitive camping in MS!! My friend had to go into town and buy a better sleeping bag! When it is not raining, the cool has made the bike rides very pleasant. Hope you get to ride soon!

hollybelle on 05/13/2013:
Oh, I saw your camping pics and about the low temps! I actually don't mind a little cool - better than too hot.....

grannyannie on 05/13/2013:
Good luck sorting out the insurance. You're doing well on exercise. Have a great week Holly.

V on 05/13/2013:
OMG I am just catching up with your entries and sorry about your hubby's accident and thank God no one was injured! Happy Belated Mother's Day to you my friend <3 I am happy you had a good one!

hollybelle on 05/13/2013:
Yes, very lucky no one hurt. So thankful. Thanks for the MD wishes. Got to spend part of the day with Rach and Will.

So busy - ate too much yesterday and almost today - today was better, though.  Not sure why - just searching for something that was tasty enough for me to stop, Lack of planning again......I need to stock up on my healthy munchies.....

Husband was in auto accident yesterday when he went out for a late lunch.  It could have been worse, but was bad enough.  He and the other parties were not injured but his new car was smashed to pieces - especially on the passenger's side.  It wasn't drivable so he is in a rental and it will be a couple of days before the police report is available.  It was ot his fault.  The other driver - in a U haul truck pulling a trailer with a car on it got a ticket of some kind.  We hope she has good insurance because we do not need another accident on ours - after the theft and damage done to our two cars in our driveway last fall!

Carry on everyone......

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 05/09/2013:
Glad your husband wasn't injured--still it sounds bad enough the way you describe it. I hope everything turns out for the best insurancewise. Take care!

hollybelle on 05/13/2013:
Very lucky. Insurance still up in the air, but we should know more today - Monday 5/13.

OhioRaven on 05/10/2013:
Keep Calm and Carry On, Holly! It's one of my favorite sayings. O even have it on a T-shirt. Glad everyone is ok.

hollybelle on 05/13/2013:
I just thought of "Carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest and don't you cry no more" - good line. I don't know how to do anything else but carry on. It's a good place to be. :-) Thanks for your support.

thenewMLE on 05/13/2013:
Happy Belated Mother's Day!! Sorry about hubby, thank God he wasn't injured! I have been thinking about you and really want to thank you for inspiring me to ride. It was last year when y'all told me I needed to add exercise to my routine, and just the word alone scared me!! I really have enjoyed riding and the padded pants make it enjoyable! You really do parallel my life, as work has been responsible for my absence too. Take care and I hope to chat more soon!!

Sorry for the unintended absence.  I have been so busy with work no time to post.  I have done OK on food except for a weekend faux pas that resulted from my making a cheese danish and eating most of it myself!  Hadn't made one in years and probably won't for years again LOL!

Yesterday's food was:

2 pieces of natural oat bran toast with jam, iced vnilla coffee

baked chicken and salad and roll at professional association luncheon

small wendy's frosty

spinach salad with leftoveor grilled chicken, almonds, apples, crispy wontons, dressing

1/2 PBJ on 50 cal bread 1/4 C skim milk

Also put out some flowers - slowly but surely between the rains we have had since Monday........want to ride bike, maybe late - after 7 pm tonight????  Will go to church first.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 05/08/2013:
Yes those darn deserts. Glad to hear from you. Have a great day Holly

grannyannie on 05/08/2013:
I certainly understand about desserts as well! Have a good day, Holly!

Was a really busy busy day yesterday and didn't post for Friday - but I did OK. on food.  Overate just  a bit at dinner - but was healthy foods.

Today I am taking down the little dwarf maple tree that is 3/4 dead now and husband is going to dig out the stump and roots of it and the mugo pines I chopped down this week.  I have lots of weeds to pull and plants to get in pots.  My hay fever is already acting up.  Hope to get a short bike ride in sometime today - it's cooler and raining off and on.

More later.....

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, 3 slices of bacon, 1 scrambled egg and two small biscuits!  YUM

Update:  Woo-Hoo - yard work from 9:30 to 3;00 - yikes!  My heel is killing me and I am pooped.  Husband helped too and it looks great.  Front yard is almost done and the backyard is for tomorrow.  Rain held off.  Once I get it all done, I'll try to remember to take a couple of pictures and post them.   We;ll see.  I am glad our yard is not bigger!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Posted late yesterday - was a pretty good day.

B:  1/2 PBJ on Natural Oat Bread - Iced Van Coffee

L:  Cup of creamy tomato soup and 1/2 baby spinach salad with grilled chicken

D:  chicken salad, smoothie

S:  Just a bit of chocolate covered popcorn at the ladies night - they had all kinds of desserts there.  So I did good. Seriously I had 5 bites.

S:  1/2 PBJ on Oat Bread and 1/2 C Skim Milk

Going to go to church tonight to a ladies program with a friend so not sure I will be doing much exercise - but big plans for exercise this weekend - if rain doesn't cancel, etc.

UPDATE:
I had time to get the rest of the shrubs cut out before I went to church - so did get some exercise in !

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

JBGirl on 05/02/2013:
What kind of exercise do you do?

hollybelle on 05/02/2013:
Not a lot lately - but it varies - mostly yard work and cycling. I love to ride my bike most of the time in decent weather. I sometimes do Zumba calsses or an elliptical trainer I have at home or walk with my dogs.

Puddles on 05/02/2013:
Enjoy your evening out at the ladies program. Take care.

Go up late this morning.  Day went OK, even so.  I didn't get to eat breakfast at home and had an unusual breakfast at work.....was going to go bike riding after church, but husband got home way ahead of schedule and since it is his birthday we went to eat a casual dinner at one of our old favorite hangouts - Joe Bologna's - ordered zuchinni parmesan and ate half with a sald and half of one of their world famous bread sticks.  We split a piece of cake.

B:  Pretzels and cream cheese, iced vanilla coffee

L:  Grilled chicken sandwich - with lettuce and tomato only, unsweet tea

S:  Granola Bar

D: 1/2 Bread stick, salad and 1/2 zuchinni parmesan, 1/2 or less of cake slice

Didn't get to ride my bike, but I did work in the yard about an hour and 15 minutes. Worked on the front yard.  Planted some flowers, started to cut down these shrubs that we have never liked and they have gotten really overgrown - Mugo pines - they are coming out this weekend along with the poor dwarf japanese maple that has a checkered past - it was damaged in an ice storm probaby 15 years ago and was never the same since.  I had tried and tried to trim and prune it into shape, but no dice.  It's coming out.  I have to decide what to put in each spot when we dig them out - maybe spirea in place of the mugo pines and just another lariope where the maple is - there is a semi circle of them around the maple. Then there is a small bush on the side of the house that needs to come out -  Pretty hot pin trumpet blooms in June - wigiela.  The rest of the time it is funny looking.....there are 3-4 of them, but this one has been getting smaller and smaller.  There is almost nothing left.

Night night - DD friends!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

V on 05/02/2013:
Hey I have to get going but I will respond to your question later, have a good day :)

Updated yesterday with menus and calorie count.

Today I brough leftover potato and 1 lone BBQ rib for lunch.

Planning to either plant some flowers - may have to wait for yellow and blue....., wash the dogs, or take a long walk, or ride THE BIKE (finally) - we'll see how much energy I have at the end of the day.

B:  2 LF WW waffles with blackberry jam, iced vanilla coffee

L:  Baked potato with 2 T sour cream and butter mixed up, 1 BBQ rib

S:  10 pretzels

D:  1/4 C chicen salad on WW & oat bread

Came home after work with a tired brain - studying for a prefessional license I need to get in these changing times and was just worn out from thinking - lol

Stopped by the flower stand and purchased some more flowers - still waiting on New Guinea impatients and golden choleas to come in tomorrow to finish off the choices and tomorrow or Thursday I will start planting them.  They will either look good or not - I am not sure as I deided on some different stuff this year - we'll see.

Rode the bike almost 12 miles.  It was easier than I thought it would be since I haven't been riding that much lately.  After the first 3-4 miles I got in the groove - not a lot of speed, but it was good training and felt good.

Needless to say the dogs are still dirty and didn't get a walk!

hollybelle on 04/30/2013:
Temps are great for most anything here today, V! Not a cloud in the sky at 8:00 p.m., even! Love you, too, my friend!

V on 05/01/2013:
RYC you know even at goal weight I find it alot easier to eat balanced healthy meals when I plan it out for the week not to mention how life is so much easier when you don't have to think "what's for dinner?" every night, actually lunch as well..Sure i work at a restaurant but I would rather bring a healthier option, LOL. It becomes second nature..

hollybelle on 05/01/2013:
I keep trying to PLAN meals, but I am not good at it. Any tips for planning? Maybe I should just copy yours!

Sorry for my absence over the weekend - it was unintentional.  Usually an absence means I have gone "off the rails", but not the case this weekend.  I did not attend the retreat due to the strange stomach illness that nagged me all last week.  It has gone away, however, so all is well once more.  I basically didn't do much Saturday at all except assist husband to gt off on his next work adventure to Wash D.C.  He will return on Wednesday - his 55th birthday (yes - he's about 4 years younger than me!!)  and will leave again next weekend for yet another trip - that should be last one for about 3-4 weeks, though.  It is unusual he travels this much in such a short period of time.

I made some choc chip cookies for the new neighbors across the street and managed to eat just a few myself.  I balanced/rationalized those with the fact that I didn't eat big meals at all and those cookies were the majority of my calories for the meals.  Kept within the calories, both days.

I must make a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for a friend to take to a birthday party Wednesday (I'll make it tonight - it's better after it sits) but I am not worried about that at all , as I won't eat any of it at all.  I'm not going to the party!   We will eat lean meat and salad and brussel sprouts for dinner.

I am going to put out some of my flower pot flowers tomorrow.  The nurseries don't have anything blue or anything yellow that I like yet, but I have the rest of the stuff.  Thinking about doing something different, but I usually end up doing the same old same old.

Have a good evening, everyone!

Update:

B:  Iced Vanilla Coffee - wasn't hungry because ate eggs and toast LATE last night so.....75

L:  Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich and WATER - no fries, either!  350

S:  Granola Bar 140

D:  1/2 baked potato with sour cream, salt and pepper - 4 BBQ ribs - very very lean and about 2 T BBQ sauce 500-600??

S:  Licked the icing from the bowl when I made friend's cake....3 TBs? 150-200?

Total Calories 1265-1365  ish

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

V on 04/29/2013:
Sorry that you missed the retreat :( Thank goodness you feel better!! Have a great evening Holly <3

Good for you to be able to eat a few cookies & keep thing s balanced. I do the same thing about plants - wanting to try something new but then going with the tried & true,

Have a great day!

OhioRaven on 04/29/2013:
Hey, Holly. I'm certainly no veteran plant hunter. If anything, I'm a very late bloomer. I think its a part or an extension of who I am now. Maybe my next step to being healthier. Today I found Henbit.

hollybelle on 04/29/2013:
Henbit, we call Lamium around here abounds! It usually comes up so much you couldn't pick it all here. It is part of the mint family and actually helps the honey bees which is a wonderful thing. So many of the bees of N America have died off over the last 20 years. Penticides and urban development of the their pollen grounds. I have never eaten it, though. I didn't know it could be eaten!!

Yesterday calories were very low.  Had stomach "issues" which made it no challenge.  I think because I ate too much of othe granola with FLAX SEED in it.  I am laying off that stuff and hoping for the best.  I may not be able to attend the retreat because of this.....  :-(

Today so far:

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, 1 sausage biscuit

L:  Mexican Pizza - Yikes

S:  LF Ice Cream Sandwich

D:  ????
