(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Today so far:

B:  1 sausage pattie and 1 ww lf waffle with jam, coffee 260

S:  Banana and 10 pretzels  - my stomach was upset and  I thought food would help.  Apparently it did 200

L:  Frozen Lasagna not too tasty and too much garlic 270

Sub total 730 calories

S:  CAKE!!  AUGHHHHH!  300

D:  nick-nacked - better than paddy-whack, I guess!  LOL

Probably ended the day with about 1800 calories - not all that bad, but didn't make those good choices I have been making.  I will  be back on it Wednesday!!  I got this!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Hey Holly!!! Hope that stomach upset doesn't come back, have a great day today :)

V on 04/02/2013:
Hope your tummy feels better Holly <3

horn_of_plenty on 04/02/2013:
hey, thank you for asking! i had a blood test this morning which will come back in a week or two. i was supposed to have other tests, but they were cancelled bc i was in a wheelchair, but needed to stand up. later in the day, i went to a second orthopedist, he told me i should skip the wheelchair and walk when i can. that sitting in the chair was very bad for my health. so after three days, i am walking a little bit. it is still painful though.

hollybelle on 04/03/2013:
Just take it as easy as you can. Good to have the bone density test to see if there was reason for the stress fractures that can be headed off at the pass, so to speak.

sailingeagle on 04/02/2013:
Hi Holly! I hope you had a Happy Easter, too. AR had over an inch of rain this past Sunday and more rain is still to come. Guess as the saying goes, "April's showers bring May's flowers".... Have a great night! :0)

Updated yesterday's diary.  Did OK yesterday.  It's the work-week now. so onward and upward.

B:  2 scrambled eggs, coffee  200

L:  Lean Cuisine - had to resort to this - no time, but at least I know I can control the calories and be OK on those.  There are about 3-4 I actually don't think taste too bad.  Today it was mac & cheese with salisbury steak.  Not bad and pretty filling.  I have a banana, pretzels and dry roasted peanuts for later, if I need them......260

S:  Dry Roasted Peanuts - just a few.  popcorn skinny pop -  250 maybe

D:  Homemade Chicken Pot Pie and salad.  Husband loves the CPP - I can take it or leave it.  350

S:  Granola bar 140

Wow - I am really full and I ate about 1200 calories today - cool

I am going to work on looking at 1/5 of my clothes closet tonight and see what I can part with.  I think if I divide it down like that I'll have the closet done by Friday night and only the dressers and boxes under the bed will remain for the weekend and next week.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 04/01/2013:
Hi, Holly !

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
HOWDY!

thenewMLE on 04/01/2013:
Don't you mean onward and downward??? I like your closet philosophy. I have those containers on wheels with two sides that flip up under my bed and I found clothes in there from before Katrina!!!They fit, but the styles are just not in - flared bottom corduroy pants and not enough length on anything, shirts included! Funny how those things change!

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
Yeah. I probably don't pay as much attention to fashion as some, but I know I need to get rid of some capris that are under that bed. They are unbecoming, anyway and just need to go. I need to shop for bottoms this summer. At least when I get things pared down I can take inventory and decide what I really do need.

V on 04/01/2013:
Spring cleaning time huh? I really need to do this too since I can't even close my closet door, LOL Hope you had a good day <3

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
Yup! That might be a sign it's time to do something with the closet, LOL! I must get organized at least a little bit. I usually don't give a rat's patootie - but I can only do that so long then it just reaches a point. I'm at that point!

getmebackto150 on 04/01/2013:
Yay for being full at 1200 calories!!! Agghhh I really have to go through my closet too, but I just keep procrastinating it... lol

hollybelle on 04/02/2013:
It really makes you feel better if you do it!

Umpqua on 04/02/2013:
I need to do some spring cleaning as well, good for you. Hope you have a good one!

hollybelle on 04/02/2013:
It made me feel so much more in control- ha! What a joke. I went thru 1/5 of my closet, but it was the part that has most of what I typically wear, so that didn't result in getting rid of much. It will be interesting to see what happens when I get to the slacks section because I am having trouble admitting I will probably never wear some of those sizes again, but who knows, maybe I WILL! At any rate maybe I can just tell myself they aren't even in style anymore.....like that matters to me, if I like clothes I like them - not exactly a trendy dresser!

Still house cleaning - clothes/shoe closet today.  Lots of work!  Need husband's help to finish completely, but it's mostly done.  Culled out shoes - going to work on getting rid of clothes later this week.  I think my allergies are in high gear due to the dust bunnies in there.  Yuck!  I am going to get more shoe racks to put the shoes on because having loose shoes in part of the closet floor makes it too hard to vaccum in there as often as it needs to be.  Once I get rid of all the clothes I need to it should be much easier to get ready to go places and to put away laundry.  I used to be really good at that, but have become somewhat of a packrat.  Everything has a place, but it's a packed place.....LOL

Anyway - food was ok yesterday. Nothing real good nothing real bad.  I didn't keep track and today I have had an OK food day although not as good as I need to have.  It's just one day, though.  Back on track tomorrow - no problem.

B:  3 sausage patties - small ones......three buscuits, coffee

L:  Not nutritious - one LARGE piece of coconut cake

D:  Pork Chop and 1/2 C mashed potatoes

Husband has gone to visit his parents in N KY and I am still Beanie-Weiner sitting with the neightbors doggie.  Still working on laundry and wondering when I am going to get to the yard work I was gonna do today - it rained most of the day, but the sun has decided to come out in the last hour.

Update:

Did squeeze some yard work in and a short walk with dogs and neighbor's dog.  Not together - separately.  I got the liriope (monkey grass) cut back and the knockout roses cut back.  I will work some more on raking the left over leaves up and seting the solar lights back straight - or I may take them all out back this year.  They don't stay straight for long.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

V on 04/01/2013:
Hey hope you had a good weekend <3

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
I did have a good one - how about you?

thenewMLE on 04/01/2013:
I enjoyed some yard work too. I like that when the weather is pleasant. I SIL has a wienie dog and so did my grandma. I love them! Is he long haired or short haired? Girl, my closets sound like yours. Maybe that will be the next targeted area of my life. Sometimes I feel like my closet - overstuffed and outdated! Have a great day!

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
You are too funny. I will be so relieved to clean out that closet and my dressers, etc. I have been threatening to do it for about 5 years! But I just know I will feel so less burdened when I get it done. Sorry to "mislead" you on the dogs nickname - he is actually a teacup poodle - gray - and his name is Bean. I just call him Beanie Weanie for fun! I am not crazy about small dogs, but I like him. He has a really cute personality. Not "yappy" and very affectionate.

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
I love reorganizing closets and getting rid of stuff!

hollybelle on 04/01/2013:
In that case, I wish you were here! I only like it once it's DONE!! I am having the hardest time deciding on what to keep and what to give up on the clothes. But I am feeling in a "releasing" mood, so I'm gonna strike while the "ion is hot" - and I don't mean the STEAM iron!

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
Yea, when I feel ambitious about this kind of stuff I can't ignore it.

Updated yesterday.  It was an ok day.  You will see my "restaurant review" on yesterday's entry.

I am doggie sitting for a little tea cup poodle down the street.  He's so cute.  Not the typical tiny poodle personality.  It's so amazing that he and our dogs can be the same species!  His name is Bean.

Coffee so far today - not sure what else.  May make a chicken pot pie with the rest of the left over chicken and I may try to make bread - yes - glutton for punishment.....

Daughter and SIL gone to his parents in W KY.  Told my mother the blessed news last night.  :o)

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 03/30/2013:
You did well at the restaurant. Too bad the food wasn't so great. What kind of bread do you plan to make?

hollybelle on 03/30/2013:
Not sure what kind of bread, maybe an oatmeal/whole grain, but my yeast is out of date, so may have to wait until tomorrow. ;0(

Puddles on 03/30/2013:
There is a lot to be said about homemade food. Have a great day.

grannyannie on 03/30/2013:
Bread sounds good, but old yeast is useless. I used some that still had a couple of months to go on it and the bread wouldn't rise.

horn_of_plenty on 03/30/2013:
there are so many good add-ins for bread these days...lol, you can add chia seeds or flax...and so many different mixes, right? you could probably even make a protein bread with extra eggwhites?? ...you can add cranberries...oh wow...it must be endless? pumpkin?

sailingeagle on 03/30/2013:
Bean is such a cute name for a little dog! lol Thank you for the birthday wish, it was wonderful! Happy Easter to you.

Yesterday's calories - 1485 total - Small walk......

More later.

B:  Banana, coffee

L:  whopper Jr. and diet coke - that's my two diet cokes for the week.

D:  Will be a very nice restaurant with husband and mother.  May have a "cocktail"!  Woo-hoo!

There wasn't a thing on the menu I wanted.  The restaurant is resting on it's old town reputation.  Food I ordered was awful - as in - my food is way better - I opted for vegetable plate and husband and I shared some fried banana peppers.  I had two small ones. I ate a small house salad with cucumber dressing (low fat) an corn pudding.  I ordered green beans - they were so salty I couldn't eat them.  I ordered an baked potato - which I saved for later.

Before going to the restaurant I ate some skinny pop popcorn and after dinner I ate 20 milk chocolate chips.....wanted something sweet.

Not sure what the cal count was but I'd estimate maybe 1700 or so......not bad.  Too bad the meal was a bomb.  It was very expensive, too.  Mom and Mark liked what they had, but that place needs to get a chef with more imagination!!  Or at least one that can do the old traditional recipes some justice.  I'll shut up now.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Yesterday was OK.  I think I wound up with around 1500-1600 calories-not the most nutritious foods, but not totally bad.  Don't be fooled by the taco - it was beef, but not greasy at all.  I don't know how they do that.  Counted the chips and salsa but I did have another piece of the cake yesterday. Today is another day and I'll just have ANOTHER GOOD DAY!

I am going to go all the way to my goal to get back down to 150!

It is supposed to warm up this weekend so I should be able to get a ride in.

More later......

OMG!!! That's exciting and wonderful!!! I've been trying to read to get caught up and I'm glad to see that you are focused on yourself again to better health!! I missed following your posts. You were gone for awhile with the wedding and then I had to cut out for a little while, but I'm back!! And ready to cook and share again. I have been riding daily since my friend bought a bike 2 weeks ago. I have to ride at a different rate, but we are still going for an hour so it's counting as my rest day. I feel the same as you do that I don't want to jump from this strange winter weather straight into hot summer. PLEASE save us some spring weather!!!!

hollybelle on 03/28/2013:
We were ALL (including the newlyweds) very surprised to say the least! I posted more about biking riding on your diary. I am glad to be more focused, too. It feels right.

Umpqua on 03/28/2013:
Omigosh Holly, I'm so excited for you! And happy the pains were due to that and not something else. All I have to say is that you are gonna be one hot, fit grandma :D

hollybelle on 03/28/2013:
Oh, you are so sweet - it IS INCENTIVE for me to get more fit again!!! I want to chase that little booger around the yard with the dogs, etc.!

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
Congrats on becoming a grandma!! It's the best thing ever!

Have a great day and I hope you can get out on your bike soon.

hollybelle on 03/28/2013:
Rachel won't care if I told you guys. She is just barely pregnant. Hadn't even suspected at all, and probably wouldn't even know for sure by now, except for the midnight ab pains, etc. I am really looking forward to bike rides. Will be 59 degrees this weekend, so.....going to try for 18-20 miles so my muscles will probably be needing some nutrients!

sweetpea1977 on 03/29/2013:
Congratulations Grandma! Im so excited for you!

hollybelle on 03/29/2013:
Oh, thanks, Jenny - I am trying let it sink in. It's early yet, so I will have awhile still to adjust to the role!

Can't believe I didn't get to post yesterday.  I had a good day.

B:  Coffee, 3 grapes, 3 melon balls - ran out of time and didn't' get to eat much 100

L:  Gr Beef/Cabbage Soup, 1/2 turkey sandwich, water  310

S:  1 3-inch square piece of yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting 300?

D:  1/4 C corn and a tiny bit of roasted chicen  -  just wasn'st that hungry 100

810 calories - really?  That is crazy - not on purpose.  Just happened.

Not the best, most balanced menu- but I think the calories are OK.

I did fine resisting the chocolate pie, as predicted, but I was afraid there wouldn't be enough for everyone so I made a yellow sheetcake withchoc butter cream and I DID have a piece of that.

I wasn't relly hungry for the rest of the day, though.

I had a late afternoon appointment with a customer near daughter's house so I stopped in to deliver a gift someoe had dropped off at my office for her and helped her clean her house up.  Go figure....my house needs work and I am cleaning hers!

Wed Menus:

B: Oatmeal with little br sugar, craisins and almonds, coffee 300

L: one beef taco - not greasy at all.......love this restaurant, 15 chips and salsa diet coke 500

S: cake 200

D: skinny pop, two toaster waffles with jam 500

UPDATE

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 03/27/2013:
You did great just having one piece of cake when being surrounded by chocolate pie and cake! And overall it looks like you certainly did have too many calories. Have a great day, Holly!

Another good calorie day.  1380 yesterday.

Ate lots of good stuff, too.

Tonight I must make 2-3 chocolate pies for my co worker's birthday tomorrow.....Luckily I am not tempted by chocolate pie. Although I love chocolate, I don't really care for chocolate pie or chocolate donuts.  I will probably have a 3 bite piece of it just to "make sure it tastes good", but not a big deal for me.

B:  Coffee, and oatmel with br sugar and craisens 350

L:  Gr Beef Cabbage and bean soup 200

S:  Pita chips and cheese 170

D:  Small pork chop, mashed potatoes,  300

yeah, we got a lot of snow this year too...and some is anticipated for next week too!

i hope this stress fracture can fully heal. i am pretty worried about the lack of cardio i am going to have to deal with.

hollybelle on 03/24/2013:
Maybe you can use these 6 weeks to put effort not weights/weight circuit. See what the doc says you can do - maybe work with a PT a couple of times for suggestions???? Dang. I know it's hard. My fractures were in the shins from high impact aerobics. When went back to teaching aerobics I switched to lower impact to step aerobics, so they stayed healed. It was dificult, but I had to do it.

Puddles on 03/24/2013:

I am betting that this will be the LAST cold week we will have here in KY. I hope you get to say the same! I just hope we don't go from winter to hot summer without any spring at all.

Had another good day yesterday.  Made blueberry buckwheat pancakes for breakfast.  I reduced the oil from 1 T to 1t and used the most wonderful vanilla/butter flavored extract.  They were great.  Didn't have creamer for my coffee!  Yikes!

B:  2 Blueberry Buckwheat pancakes with maple syrup - yum 500?

Need to figure out what to make for dinner tonight

L:  Smoothie 300  Big salad with grilled chicken, spinach, feta, cranberries, almonds and crispy wontons and asian sesame dressing  cals??  400-450?

S:  granola bar

D:  Put off going to grocery until 6:00!  Picked up some ready made BBQ and it was awful!  It was Tony Roma's pulled pork and it was just next to inedible.  The sauce was great, but meat was tough, fatty.  Picked through what was supposed to be 16 oz to barely make two sandwiches for husband and I.  Mine was on small bun.  Drank some tea and called it a day
