Overate a little bit today, but I rode 10 miles on the bike and walked for about 30 minutes.

Girl, go get your bike tuned up and get back out there!! The weather is gorgeous! I bet it is a combination of the bike needing a tuneup and the trepidation from the last crash. That's such a scary feeling and it takes time to get back up on that horse, I mean bike!! Glad you got your walks in and your introductory ride back to a season of fun!! I have been somewhat MIA too as work was overwhelming since before the hurricane, but just got worse due to a week out of the office. It just meant I had twice as much work to do and 1/2 the amount of time! Boss is gone today and so is a lot of the work load so I am trying to visit a little with everyone. Have a great weekend!

Sorry I've been MIA lately.  Miss everyone - although I check in for a quick drive-through the DD site and FB daily, I'm just not posting or commenting much! Eating going OK.  Walked an hour last night with husband and dogs....biking has been intermitttent the last month.  Wish to get back on a daily cycling schedule through the Fall!  Interference!

Going to church tonight.  More later.

Bike ride - 10 miles!  At least the first one is over.

Going to ride again tonight.  

Food OK.  Have poison ivy AGAIN.  Got it off the dogs - it's on my face and arms.  Went to the dr and got RX as soon as it came out so I'll be good as new soon.

Going to Louisville to see friend and go to play - "Wicked" and dinner afterwards.

Hurt my rotator cuff badly twice and moderately several times. So it makes me very nervous to have any pain there!

Still haven't ridden my bike, but I did walk 2.5 miles last night with husband, daughter and her fiance and the dogs, of course.  Better than nothing.  I have been feeling energetic in the mornings, but bone tired in the evenings.  It's beautiful weather for cycling, but gong to be hotter today.  I am going to church tonight and staying late so probably no chance to ride bike today.  Eating has been OK.  Not overeating, but nothing exceptional either way/

Don't discount the walking - at least you can't get hurt!! Just kidding... I want to ride real bad too and the weather is getting hotter but my bike should be ready by tomorrow. I have noticed that the winds seem to be higher as these fronts approach and I have not ridden in the fall in over 30 years so it will be a new experience. don't forget to take a vitamin to help with the fatigue. I'm feeling the same way with my new early morning schedule. I get a lot more accomplished earlier in the day, but boy do I get tired at night. Hubby is loving the bike riding so far, I will keep you posted :)

Ate really well this weekend.  But not much exercise.  Getting on my bike FOR SURE tonight.  Will have to build back up at this point, I imagine.

Are you feeling better? I'm ready to ride too! We got our first shot of cooler air yesterday. It was only in the mid 80's and I wanted to ride so bad!! But I got in the pool instead. They say muscle memory is a great thing and we shouldn't have to build up too much! Have a great week!

Updated my menus from yesterday.

Went to Sam's Club and cooked dinner last night. So tired when I finished - only lifted weights a little while and called it good.  

1 scrambled egg with a tiny bit of grated cheddar, toast with jam and iced coffee

What a whirlwind life I lead - Hahahaha.  

Tonight I plan to get back to some kind of exercise.  Not sure what it will be - but I will report back....several options and I already lifted some weights for upper body.  Feeling a little stronger.  

Two LF WW Waffles and jam, iced coffee for breakfast

 LF cottage cheese, homegrown cherry tomatos (really big ones), scuppernong grapes and an apple for lunch.   

snack was some crackers and peanut butter

dinner was a small bowl of angel hair pasta and marinara sauce, toast and jam

bedtime snack - 1/4 C Trail mix

Sorry for the long absence.  Last week work had a couple of bombs dropped - may post more on that later....then this weekend - the 3 day holiday weekend when we were going to daughter's engagement party in a lake house in a recreational area of the state given by fiance's parents - I was in BED all weekend - from Friday night until late yesterday afternoon - stomach bug.  Missed the party! 

That's one way to lose weight I do not recommend - LOL!  Explains a lot, though - maybe why I've been feeling unmotivated, etc......rested well last night and feel better today - at work and hope to stay most if not all of the day.

Will update later.

Oh, no!! you've been gone as long as I was!! I'm so sorry you missed the party with a stomach bug. I hope you are feeling better. My work went bizerk too. I hope things settle down soon for you. Hubby brought the bikes in today for 6 month free tune up but they won't be ready until next Thursday. We cut portions back tonight but I think we will have to work out a little with weights because I don't think I can handle 10 days off track! My daughter is still not engaged and I think the storm was an interference. I agree that stomach flu and stress are not the ways to lose weight, but I'm not about to give those pounds back! Take care, my friend!

I live in Jefferson Parish and I work in Orleans Parish. The worst flooding was in St. Charles Parish. We ride our bikes through all three parishes. On an evening ride if we go east we do Jefferson and Orleans, if we go west we do Jefferson and St. Charles. I have several friends who took 5 feet of water in their houses. So sad... On another note, I miss my bike!!

Busy day - making arrangements for daughter's rental car, taking mom's doggie to the groomer and getting some work done.

Planning on riding bikes with friend tonight.  I am planning on riding over to her house and then going to the Shillito park closed tail with her which isn't too far from her house.  That way I'll get some extra mileage in and she will, too.

Argh! rental car arrangements always suck for me. I can see why they are so picky though, with giving out cars. It is cool that you are integrating different exercise types into your routine, such as bike riding. Thanks for your comments on my blog.

Thanks Holly for more than you will ever know..This experience with the RNC as well as the concept of depending on tourists and the weather has made me realize I gotta get out of this soon before the bottom completely falls out..Time to get the ball rolling and create something new/stable/fulfilling..I am sure I will have to sling drinks/wait tables somewhere else while I make more things happen, I just don't want to do it there anymore..Yes I will keep you updated on all of this <3

Ouch, just read about your daughter's car. So sad that we have to be so careful & can't trust people. I've had my house broken into, car radio stolen out of my car in the garage, and then my bike stolen from my closed garage- all years ago but still bothers me. Now I live in a country where people get caned for doing such things so there is a bit of fear & not as much crime.

Rode 20 miles this morning - left later than I wanted to - around 11:00 - rode to the Food Coop Cafe and had a bite to eat and came back home.  Cleaned up. Did a couple of loads of laundry and went to Home Depot with rny friend who is redoing her guest bathroom.  Then we both went to the grocery and stocked up for the week and I came home.  Having soup and half sandwich for dinner and relaxing after I get the laundry put away.

Your Sunday sounded like my favorite Sunday! I scrambled for supplies, but I did manage to get in some pool time. I took oldest daughter to buy a bike Saturday. She looks like she may go with a Trek hybrid since she had lower back issues. She said it felt better to sit more upright. We didn't take it home yet. I guess we will wait until the weather passes through. Have a great day!

Oh no!! Sorry about your daughter's belongings. That's horrible!!! I had someone break into my car once..well,actually, it wasn't locked. They took tapes (it was the 80's) but I really had nothing else. They were actually so drunk they left a MAJOR DNA sample in the drive way...if you know what I mean. They didn't get far...how can they when their pants are down around their ankles while they're squatting in the open. : )
