Daughter's car broken into about 2:30 this morning.  Purse and laptop stolen, husband's car AND garage door damaged.  Yes, we have TOLD her and TOLD her not to leave her stuff in the car even in the driveway.  We live in a "safe" neighborhood, but there have been car breakins around here for months!!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Oh, Holly, so sorry to hear that. And I know she must feel violated. My daughter got her car broken into at work on Mother's Day years ago. She had hidden her purse under the seat, but they must have watched her and known that she would be going in for a shift (she was dressed in all black with and apron) so they knew they had several hours. The worst was she had cash in her purse from being paid the previous shift but they got MY credit card. That was fixable, but her anxiety and distrust was not. She is the most anxious person about being vulnerable. And I can only imagine when it's your home or own property that has been tampered. I hope they catch those criminals.

Oh poopoo....We are used to living 17 miles out of town and we are now in a county turned city area..A bit hard to get used to "locking up"...Nice neighbors and neighborhood, just sidewalks in front of the house means for a lot of foot travelers from outside skirts to allow more visualization of possesssions...

Goodness...and it sounds like they tried to get into your Hubby's car also, as well as into y'all's home through the garage door. Sorry y'all are going through this. We've been broke in on and robbed more than one time over the years so, it takes time to get over something like a break-in, including a car break-in and robbery. Glad y'all are SAFE...thank the Lord y'all are SAFE. :-)

RYC, LOL you are too funny Holly..I totally agree about politics discussions, I don't allow it at my bar. That couple was really nice and I am hoping to meet more like them if the weather permits..It is looking like we are in the clear(other than rain and winds) I am thankful but now worried about Em :(

I cooked dinner and cleaned up a little and went to bed early last night.  My elbow started stinging and hurting really badly again for some reason.  I put more bandaids on it and rested it.  The bruising is really bad.  I still can barely touch it, although the wound itself is healing better.   Also, I need to get over the mental stress I am experiencing now and do the exercise I said I was going to do.  I will cut myself ANOTHER break for last night, though and just keep on thinking positively as I can.  I "should" have gone for a walk, at least.  Weather was great. 

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Hey Holly! Keep in mind that you are recuperating from an injury - don't be so hard on yourself right now. You are lucky you didn't break your elbow. Bruising is painful and needs gentle healing too. I was wrong about the brand of my biking shorts - they are Canari and they have a pad, but it doesn't say chamois on it. I need to look into the gloves. I also was looking for a new pair of shoes. I am using my Nike walking shoes because I don't clip and I am really afraid to clip, but is there a recommended shoe that is NOT a clip? Do I want smooth or grippy bottoms?

Nothing real big to report today - Rode only 10 miles on bike last night.  It was a good ride to get back in the swing of things.  Neck and back just a little "off" today.  Will hang on inversion table this afternoon before I go on ride.  Will try for around 15 miles tonight. 

Work is stressful and probably will remain as such through the end of the year.  SIGH!

Glad you're ready to get back to biking after your accident.

I don't normally have problems with my knees but I do hate the idea of ever having serious issues. One reason I don't jog/run any more is I found it too easy to hurt my knees if I landed the wrong way off a curb, etc. Used to run for a while in the 90's, but won't do it now. Power walking is good enough.

Terry is the maker of the 2 skorts I have! I got them on 50% off and have really enjoyed them. The pants are Champion and came from Sport's Authority for $24 and the capris were on sale for $10! Do you find the gloves help? I have never worn them, but hubby wears his all the time. How are your elbows healing? I thought about you as I came down the levee slightly out of control last night. It was VERY wet and I felt that I was sliding more than rolling. And I had a flashback at that sign I hit back in May! Hope you heal quickly. Have a good ride tonight and try to keep work from stressing you too much.

10 miles sounds perfect to me :) Hey i am hoping your neck and back pain will be sorted out..Have you tried stretching a bit? Cat Stretch and downward dog might help.. Ask R if she has any quick classes that might assist you( TF Stretch 10, Extreme's Recharge20, Asylum's Relief 25, etal)

I can't wait to see the new SVU season(stupid cliff hanger, LOL) I have been faithfully watching the CI reruns every day..I really miss our Bobby Goren <3 I just love watching the "master" do his thing and when he tilts his head, i melt... Hahahaha Okay enough, I am working myself up... Have a good evening Holly!

OK - sinus headaches and bike accident injuries behind me now!   Going to get on it this week!  Going to ride or walk or do ET EVERY DAY this week.  Just because things haven't worked out the last 2-3 weeks for exercise doesn't mean it won't this week.  I am not going to be "down" about it - I'm forging ahead!

10 miles on my bike tonight.  Felt good.  I cut it short because a little neck and back strain I sustained during the accident showed up and I don't want to push it.  I will try to schedule a chiropractor appt tomorrow to see if I can work it out.  May hang on the inversion table later, too.

I thought about you today as I watched Law and Order CI.. It was the one when Bobby's mom was dying and he found out about him possibly being the son of a serial killer :( This episode always breaks my heart..

Retirement is the best! I was lucky to retire early - age 55. I stopped working when hubby volunteered to go to Uganda, and I didn't go back to work after we came home.

Ten miles is better than nothing!! I am glad you are feeling better. Take it easy with the neck pain - the inversion table is a good remedy for that. If it continues to bother you, be sure and get it checked out. The neck is a very complicated area with all those nerves and discs that can trap things. Have a great day!

Saturday was a busy day.  Caught up on some chores and husband and I went shopping for a replacement for our 18 year old dishwasher. It has been less effecient for a couple of years, actually, have been having to be careful to rinse everything very well before loading it, etc.,  We should have a new machine installed Monday!  More $$$  new HVAC, wedding and dishwasher!  But......we are at that time of our lives =  everything is getting old and wearing out - LOL!

Thanks everyone for your sympathy on my cycling accident injuries.  I am happy to report that I am starting to heal.  My shoulder doesn't seem to be any more sore on day 2 so that's good news.  I found some wonderful bandanges that are like a plastic "skin" that will allow me to wear sleeves today, I think.  My elbow is still very very tender, but I am confident I am going to be ok! :o)

I didn't exercise.  We had some unexpected company and we grilled out - hadn't  I cooked in forever!!!!  And had a nice dinner with husband, cleaned up the house and did two load of laundry to get a jump on the weekend chores.

Im glad you're feeling better!

At first it felt like a crick in my neck, like I slept on it wrong. This morning it felt like my neck as well as the whole muscle/muscle group that runs from my neck to my right shoulder blade. So, Im guessing I strained it while doing some sort of shoulder exercise at the gym on Wednesday. I put a heating pad on it for a bit and that seemed to help a little. It no longer hurts to swallow, but my lower neck and shoulder still really hurt. I will be trying a epsom salt bath tonight to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice!

I am happy to hear that you are on the mend :) RYC, the Agility Ladder is used in Asylum..It lays flat on the floor, lots of track/football drills are done with it and of course PUSHUPS...Hahahaha have a great weekend <3

Good morning!  I rode bike last night and had an accident.  I was going downhill around a sharpe curve, too fast and got my front wheel caught up on the curbing and down I went.  It was bad, but it could have been so much worse.  I banged up my knee, my elbow and my shoulder on the right side.  The elbow is the worse.  It's UGLY.  I can't wear a shirt sleeve on it and it's awful looking.  I am so so so thankful that I didn't break anything.   My glove saved my palm on the right - the gloves are ruined.  When I knew I couldn't fight my way out of the fall I just tried to land as much on my side as possible and that probably saved my knee cap.  I will probably be more sore from the impact tomorrow, but for now I will count myself as lucky work on healing and ride again tomorrow!  Unusual bonus - since I am taking the prednisone for the poison ivy already, that will probably help me heal!  Oh, gosh - did I just say that????  I'm a mess!  (Not really)

OH NO!!! That's so scary! I'm glad you have enough presence of mind to think through and not try and stop on your knees. That's always my fear is the speed can really be dangerous and my reactions aren't always the best. Did you have someone to help you or were you alone? Riding SLOW tomorrow will probably keep you from stiffening up too bad. I'm sending you hugs and best wishes for a quick recovery! take it easy this weekend!

Wellllllllll........I didn't get home until 10:15 last night after dinner with co-workers, stopping by and seeing my mom and picking up husband from airport.  BUT I did do some weights after I got home.  I should have planned better and exercised in the a.m., but I sent to the doctor to get a RX for my poison oak outbreak I didn't mention earlier, etc. in the a.m.  So all in all it was an OK day because I did exercise a little bit.  Stuck to my goal to exercise everyday this week!

Good work on getting some weights in on a busy day! Poison oak is brutal, glad you got a prescription. The one thing that gives me relief when I get poison ivy or oak is running scalding hot shower or sink water right on it. It releases endorphins or something and gives some relief from the itching. Have a good one!

I've never been to Bonefish, but my daughter worked there in Baton Rouge for a while a couple of years ago. They just opened one in New Orleans a couple months ago. Glad you got your ride in - we did too!

Thanks for your comment yesterday. Im sure I'll like the peace and quiet soon. At least I no longer have to worry about feeling guilty when I workout at home. Im hoping by next summer I'll be done/taking a break from the beachbody programs and spend more time at the gym.

OK - new week!  My goal is to exercise everyday this week - doesn't have to be an epic workout - just moving in some way, shape or form!  Going to do it!

This weekend was kind of lazy - I dropped husband off at airport around 11:00 Saturday morning and stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up a shower curtain liner (exciting) and wound up going to Marshall's and T. J. Maxx and Shoe Carnival.  I wound up buying several things at Marshalls, a couple of things at TJ Maxx and nothing at Shoe Carnival.  I hadn't shopped for WORK clothes in a LONG time and I got some things for Fall that should come in handy and allow me to "retire" some of my more worn out work clothes as well as bring the calibur of my work clothes up some.  I have been going too casual lately - mostly because I didn't have dressier items.  Good news is that everything in my closets FITS - including the structured "shirt-blouses" that I like to wear with pants or skirts.  I need to purge lots of shoes from my closet and then I'll be in better shape on the organization front!

I walked the dogs for over 90 minutes on Saturday - they had a ball in the creek.  I pressure washed the front of the house really well - so that was my exercise for the weekend.

Hey Holly! Yes, I bake the Blueberry skillet in a 450 degree oven. On the stove top, you start with the skillet over a low heat and melt the butter and brown sugar. After layering the biscuits, blueberries and streussle topping, you bake it so the biscuits can cook and the blueberries kind of sink down into the dough. It's really good! I'm glad you enjoyed your shopping. It makes you feel better about going to work when you feel like you look your best. I am stuck in a logo polo and khakis as to not excite the male workforce. hahahaha I'm with you on the moving this week. I don't want to lose this pound and a half edge I've gained, but we plan on leaving for Pensacola after work Thursday to eat at Lambert's. It's the "Home of the Throwed Rolls" They make the best hot yeast rolls and they throw them across the room for you to catch. And I adore their fried chicken that I dip into honey. They pass around fried okra. I'm not supposed to have any of those things, but that will be my splurge meal. Can I tell you, I'm excited about going and eating my favorites, but I'm also apprehensive and scared. I've worked so hard to get this far, but I just need a taste... So no skipping the bike rides this week!!! Have a great week!!
