YES, this is my SECOND entry for today - My first one was actually all about YESTERDAY and I want one that is just about today.  See below for yesterday's news.

Did a 12 minute kettlebell routine this morning.  I am finding that this is a good way to wake up in the morning.  It's quick and I DO feel stronger.  I am doing basics for the upper body - just a litttle bit of abs and lefs with a light bell (8lbs).

B:  PNB Cherrios, dash of milk and tea  260. 

L:  WAY WAY overate - no more eating for me all the rest of the day!  Friend provided lunch "treats" - pizza and cookies!  Oh well, I'll learn the hard way, today, I guess 1000

D:  1 cup vegetable soup and two small rolls 350

1610 Calories - not terrible, but higher than I needed! Short kettlebell workout in the a.m.  was very tired after work and took a nap.  Went to bed early too and slept almost through the night.  Yesterday's event must have finally caught up with me!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

I'm kind of scared of kettlebells. I have the feeling that with my expert art of balance and grace, I would end up with a kettlebell in the eye.

It sounds like the symposium went well overall, congratulations!! You're doing great with the kettlebells too. My little one is going to be 4 in June, I can't believe it! He's been daytime potty trained for nearly a year and is determined to get it down at night now too. We didn't realize how lucky we were with my older son, he trained for day and night all at once and was done with it!

Yeah on being finished with your symposium! Things should be better now. I find that when you have a big project coming up and all your brain power is dedicated to organizing and preparing, it is easy to get derailed on eating. And then of course there is just so much plentiful good food available at off site meetings. Tomorrow is a new day and you and your bells can kick it off with a bang!!!

Yesterday is OVER and it went fine.  I had some trouble with the paperwork because our Board thought I needed help from more people to pass out the CE forms and take them up etc (I usually need one - maybe two other people) and it was a mess.  They didn't keep the forms straight even though I explained what to do and I was actually missing two table's paperwork.  I had to have the tables recreate it - which wasn't difficult, but was an unnecessary hitch.  Second session I did it all myself with ONE other person and it went fine.  I will have to load all the info onto the Dept of Insurance website for BOTH sessions and tthe Synposium will be done for one more year.

Food yesterday- I endulged in a little bit of dessert, but over all it was OK. There was so much food around I could have totally eaten my way trhough the entire day - but I didn't! The best thing I did was - even though I had to get up at 5:00 a.m.- a 10 minute kettlebell workout before I jumped in the shower!  Yesterday I ate:

B:   2 spears of pineapple, lots of coffee

L:  small boneless chicken breast - baked, lots of sauted green beens, very small piece of delicious cheesecake!

D:  Martini, 1/2 cheeseburger, roasted brussel sprouts

S:  PNB Cherrios  

I will not add up the calories for this day - I would say that the total will be around 1900-2000???

I figure I ended yesterday with around 1850 calories +/- a few....But that was my biggest calorie day in a long time, so I think it's OK.

I got up this morning and was pressed for time so I did a 10 minute kettlebell workout off YouTube.  I will browse around for another one, but this one was OK.  I only have an 8 lb kettlebell, so I will do what I can with it.  I do feel like it was a good start back to my exercise program.  I know I won't get to workout anymore today or at all tomorrow, so it's better than nothing today!

B:  2 very small farm-fresh organic eggs, coffee  175

L:  Vegetable soup, grapes, 1/2 pineapple yogurt 490

Subtotal - 665 perfect!

D:  With the Symposium Board and Speakers - will be nice - but I will choose wisely.


D:  roll with butter, salad with ranch, 1/2 salmon and :o(  dessert - blondie thing.  Estimate about 700

1365 calories. 

I feel bloated and look it, too - not sure why. I didn't eat between meals and I know my calorie count is OK -  

I am going to try not to eat anything in between meals, except maybe the apple and Yogurt from my lunchtime choices.  -was successful at this

1850 calories doesn't break the bank, don't worry! :-) for me, and maybe since last spring, 1850 calories is actually LOW! haha.

and your foods are plenty healthy - very nice to read. you and others motivate me, as lately i get into bad spells of too much processed junk! especially protein bars. it's easy for me to have at least TWO of them per day!

my night out? so weird, like i was in the twilight zone. i ended up spotting a guy i had gone out with for a few months at the first bar i walked into - thing is, he acted like he didn't know me to the point where as i look back on Saturday night, i can almost believe that he wasn't the guy. it's just weird. we've even texted back and forth since. i feel like i don't know what's real and what's not and it's actually giving me a headache thinking about it!

also, i flirted/chatted with a couple guys at the bar, but nothing else. at least it was a decent night, decent dinner, and change of pace. no movie...

I like the kettleball idea. Your question about my India trip, about the poverty, I try to understand that not everyone aspires to our Western lifestyle and that some people can exist happily with very little. It is hard to understand in a country where it appears that more could be done to help the very poor but than I think about the US and the lack of basic health care & people going hungry even among the wealthy.The difference with the poor in the US is that it's not as out in the open, at least where I live in the northeast. The trash just throws me though & sems like something that could be taken care of through public policy and town programs. ( sorry , didn't mean to go on...)

Ok We are back from the little road trip.  I haven't really over eaten, but no exercise.  It's just been a tiring week, but  I will get back on track with exercise this week.  Tomorrow a.m. with the ET more than likely.  I have the Symposium dinner Monday night and the Symposium all day on Tuesday.  After that life should get back to more normal and hopefully I will be more well.  Husband's cold has hung on and on in the form of a bad cough still.  

The concert was good.  I hated the casino - they actually smoke in the restaurants and on the casino floor. It was astounding!  There was, however, no smoking in the concert - thank God!  I will never go back to the casino to eat or anything, but I would go back to a concert only. Kansas sounded great - especially the violin and lead guitar.  The crowd was very.....interesting.

We stopped by in laws on the way home.  FIL seems to be doing much better.

B:  French Toast, 2 slice of bacon and 2 scrambled eggs 500

L:  Arby's Jr Diet pepsi 300

S:  Peanut Butter Cherios 400

D:  Gr Turkey vegetable soup  350

S:  Banana Bread  300

Husband wanted to go to mexican restaurant last night.  I wasn't really hungry, but wound up eating chips and salsa and queso dip!  I estimated 500 calories...I think that is reasonable for the amount, etc....ednded up with around 1500 cals yesterday.

Today I want to clean the house some, get a pedicure, have my car cleaned and get ready to go to the casino for dinner and the concert.  We will be eating dinner and breakfast out so I'll try to keep it reasonable and still enjoy it all.  I hope to get some exercise in there, too!

Daughter's bf is going to stay at our house and take care of the dogs.  Daughter is in W KY with his two sisters and mother on a "girls retreat" for 2.5 days.  They sounded like they were having  good time when I spoke to her last night.

Have a great weekend everyone.  Will probably not post again until tomorrow night.

Enjoy your weekend! You're doing well if you can go to a Mexican restaurant and not eat 2,000 calories! I miss Mexican food as we don't have any good ones over here. :-( Of course, that's good for me in a way.

Ended yesterday with 1180 calories - even though I ate two cookies and 2 chocolates.  That was thanks in the most part to eating lots of vegetables, liking everything I ate and being satisfied.

I am taking vegetables to lunch today. I hope they are OK left over - turnips and brussel sprouts.

B:  Baguette and butter, 2 scrambled eggs, tea- 320

L:  Friend called to go to my favorite home cooking neighborhood restaurant....I will be good.  1/2 buffalo chicken sandwich, 1/2 healthy cole slaw, 1/2 corn  550

S:  3 chocolates 135

Subtotal:  1005

Chips and Salsa - husband wanted to go to mexican restaurant......queso dip......not sure of the calories 500? 


I'll have to be careful with calories the rest of the day.

I feel like I have missed out on calorie burning all week with feeling bad, but I'll just have to exercise as soon as I can.  I have been beat.  Feel better again today, though.  Fingers crossed. 

We have the concert at the casino tomorrow night.  I am looking forward to a good meal and fun with husband. Then next week on Monday night I will be going to a pre-symposium dinner at a very nice restaurant with the board members, special guests and speakers.  I am usually so tired by that time with the Symposium walk-thropugh and last minute details all day long that I don't really enjoy it, but I'll try!  I usually have salmon, but they have a wonderful beef filet that I may get.....geez, is it good to be planning that meal this far in advance?  LOL!

FIL got out of the hospital on heavy-duty oral antibiotics so we'll see how he does.  YAY!

hahaha, totally fine to dream of what you will have in advance. I do the same. I also have been eating tons of veggies and notice i cannot get my calories too high (unless i eat out). And I am never hungry! Funny, huh?

Well, it was a chocolate kind of day yesterday but I ended the day with 1190 calories. 390 of those were chocolate.  Hehehehe, I don't think that is the prescribed % for any diet, but I think it's out of my system now.  I hope to have Zumba tonight as I have been feeling better for about 36 hours now.

B:  2 scrambled eggs, tea 120

L  Happily found myself at my favorite healthy food restaurant at lunch time today - had food from their hot bar - 4 roasted potato cubes, a few roasted parsnips and carrots, sauted kale, 1 tiny stewed chick thigh, water and a delicious Ginger molassas cookie! 470

Need to hit the water hard this afternoon - subtotal cals = 590 - great!

I stopped by TJ Maxx to look for a weight vest like daughter purchased yesterday or day before - but alas, they were all gone!  Rats - They are around $30 - but she found it at TJ's for $15!

S:  Cookie ww choc chip 200

D:  sour dough baguette and butter brussel sprouts, turnips 300

S::  2 Chocolates  90

1180 calories - I didn't make it to Zumba :o(     I am just so fatigued.  Gotta work on it.

Yesterday is updated - 1100 calories.  Still no exercise due to feeling under the weather with sinuses.  I do feel quite a bit better, though.  I will plan to go to Zumba tomorrow night and hope for the best.  I have obligations tonight, but might get in a light ET workout later.

I got the pressing part of my responsibilities done for the my professional association symposium yesterday - still a little bit of paperwork and copying to do.  We are doing a walk-through at the venue tonight and having a last board meeting to pull together loose ends.  This is my 7th year with the board.  This year is a record attendance 350+.

B:  Honey Bran Blueberry mini-muffins 2, tea 100

S:  Choc coconut nest 160

I am having lunch with my customer/friend who lost her husband on January 16th-this year.  So I hope to keep it  healthy and good calories.  She spent her Valentines Day with her pastor yesterday.  Kiss your "significant others" extra today - they are precious, after all.  


L:  grilled Salmon, rice, green beans 450

S:  5 dove chocolates (bliss) 220

D:  Sourdough bagette w butter, grapes 250

1190 calories  Went to church and mom's house afterwards.  Home at 8:30.  Feel better tonight.  No more off the hook for exercise starting tomorrow if I continue to feel better.

Glad you are feeling better. That's sad about your friend. Sometimes you don 't realize how temporary life can be. We should all make the most and best of it. My best friend lost her husband 3 years ago and it's a pain that just burns in our hearts. Good luck with the symposium.

Updated yesterday somewhat - under 1500 calories.  Appetite is not good - that's OK.  I feel better today, but still not even 90%. 

I had to get up early and drive downtown in traffic / sleet /rain this morning.  Had a meeting with insurance carrier underwriters.  They provided breakfast and all I ate was

B:  eggs - probably 3 and one bite of bacon.  Really!  Coffee with cream  255

L:  1/3 small Jimmy John's turkey sandwich and 2 Valentine Cookies - they were smallish and delicious!  350 

I am sure there will be temptations later in the day as the "guys" in the office usually bring the "gals" a goodie or two.

 Husband sent the sweetest card and DAUGHTER sent me flowers!  I cried TWICE!


S:  Another Cookie 100

D:  1/2 pecan crusted cajun boneless pork chop, 1/4 cup mashed potatoe, 2 rolls with jam, tea  400

Round 1100 calories  Still feeling tired so no exercise - early to bed

Home sick from work at least for half a day - sinuses are killing me.  Ended with 1200 +/- calories yesterday, but didn't get any exercise in due to feeling so bad. 

This am I ate piece of cake daughter saved me from her dinner last night :o)  It was good.

B:  Blueberry/Lemon cake and tea  400?

L:  Chips and Salsa - all natural bowl of cereal w almonds and 1/2 banana 510

S:  Granola bar with teaspoon of choc cream cheese135

1045 subtotal

will have to go easy on calories for the rest of the day.  Maybe asparagus and a little bit of the enchilada casserole....??

D:  To tell the truth I don't exactly remember - some casserole and  - I know it was < 500 so I was OK for the day - felt so bad.....slept and drank lots of fluids - water with lemon mostly.

Sorry that you are not feeling well Holly :( Thanks for asking, Val and baby boy (Carter) are doing fine..Her shower is the 25th of this month..She is due in April..I am so excited to have a little one to spoil..Too bad they live so far away, I would take the little one at least twice a week whether they like it or NOT..hahaha!! I hope you feel better :)

Hope you feel better. Everyone at work is sneezing and sinus stuffied. My counterpart just left 20 minutes ago so she could go home and take cough syrup and knock herself out. I keep wiping everything down with antiseptic wet wipes hoping to ward it off. I'm just not a good patient... Remember to drink lots of liquids!!
