(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

I did the ET last night for 20 minutes - better than nothing.  I hope to do 20 minutes more today.  I did feel better afterwards!  I know I feel better when I exercise.  I don't understand why I'm resistent to it!  Also did well sticking to my eating light last night after the big lunch...ate a turkey sandwich on one of those thin rounds and had an Edy's Fruit pop (one of the small ones).

I discovered that the Eggo Low Fat Whole Grain frozen waffles my husband eats almost every morning only have 140 calories 2.5 g fat for TWO.  I don't like them out of the toaster so I put them in the oven and let them get crunchy and had 2 for breakfast with jam and tea.  Yum! 210

Lunch was wonderful wisconsin cheddar cheese and saltines (only crackers around) in the kitchen at work so I could go to Sam's Club during the lunch hour + a few of these little crunchy cookie bite things someone brought in (yikes)  450  still ok on overall count for the day.  I have a banana to snack on if I want.

Anyway - more later...

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

I always feel better after I exercise as well. Well done! I'm still not a fan of fruitcake, not good enough to eat again. It was from the local bakery.

Umpqua on 12/07/2011:
You're doing great Holly, have a good one!

sweetpea1977 on 12/07/2011:
20 minutes is great! Gotta keep reminding yourself how wonderful you feel after you finish a workout!

V on 12/07/2011:
Hey Holly :) Yes 20 minutes is awesome!! I am sure you will get some more in today :) Have a great day :)

Maria7 on 12/07/2011:
Sounds pretty good about the waffles...bet they would also be good with syrup...but I like grape jam, too. YUM. :-D

thinkpositive on 12/08/2011:
I like those waffles too but even better with maple syrup! Just saw Maria's comment. :) Dont' be too hard on yourself. Yesterday I swam for 15 min. & I figured that 1. I enjoyed it. and 2. It was better than no exercise.

Slept OK last night.  Didn't do the ET this morning - cleaned up the bedroom instead.  Organized my clothes and found something "nicer" to wear today since I have a big professional association luncheon today.

Breakfast - tea (decaf) and toast 150

Lunch will probably not be real healthy - but I'll be reasonable.  The dessert usually isn't good so I may be able to skip it.

Lunch was great - ate too much, but really could have been worse.  Probably won't eat much tonight.  It was small mixed green salad - no dressing, roast turkey, small dab of dressing, roll w butter steamed green beans and for dessert pumpkin cheesecake - very small piece and I are 2/3 :o)  Like I said - probably won't eat much tonight.

Got some Christmas shopping done on the way back to the office - just stopped off at TJ Maxx and got my dad and my husband house slippers - one is a pair of clarks and the other rockport.  Good buys.  I think they will like them.  Also got husband a ton of dress and hiking socks - he needs those and some good under shirts - exciting stuff, huh?  We are very practical.

UPDATE:  20 minutes on the ET - better than nothing.  I was SO tired, but did it anyway and I DO feel better.  I just have to get in the mind set to MAKE myself.  I can't believe I am this way now - I have ALWAYS loved to exercise....confusing.

Dinner was turkey on those thin round bread - yeah more turkey - I might start to gobble in more ways than one!  Gonna go take a nice bath and put on my pjs and new slippers!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Kati on 12/06/2011:
I decided to dress nicer also. I've been sleezy lately in big, sporty outfits but after all this is a workplace and I cannot really appear all the time like if I'd be prepared to go jogging in any moment. LOL...

V on 12/06/2011:
Have fun at the Luncheon!! I am sure you will look beautiful :)

getmebackto150 on 12/06/2011:
ooh, I love/hate free lunch at those things... Sometimes its SO tasty, plus someone else is cooking, but staying healthy is a challenge! Good luck!!

legcramps on 12/06/2011:
You know, i'm not sure what products we use for waxing... i'd have to check it out to be sure. My friend works at a beauty salon so she buys it for us so it's a good quality brand. We also have to make sure it's not too hot or too cold because that makes a difference in how well it goes on the leg and obviously, how well it strips off too!

I love organizing my clothes; being organized makes me feel so much calmer about life! Have a great day!

liza36 on 12/06/2011:
So many people are getting organized. That's great. Have a good luncheon.

grannyannie on 12/06/2011:
Have a great day! I feel so better when I get organized.

Umpqua on 12/06/2011:
Yummy luncheon foods! I always ask for slippers for Christmas - the ones I have on now have huge holes in the bottom haha. We're very practical here too :)

moogy on 12/06/2011:
Well, practical and STYLISH holly.:) Hope your day is successful and enjoyable:)

glycrina on 12/06/2011:
I think you did really well with the food. You have to be realistic sometimes, you are going to eat some bad stuff but it looks like you have a good balance

Maria7 on 12/06/2011:
Reads like you had a nice lucheon today...also yayyyy on getting some shopping out of the way...I tried to get some shopping out of the way later today...was partly successful and partly NOT. I do not enjoy going to one store after another in search of something that is not available...we are a small town here anyway. Hope you have a good evening.

I love FAGE!!! Its my absolute favorite Greek yogurt. I always stock up when it goes on sale. If its not in stock, I get Chobani, which is pretty good too.

Good goals for today!! Go for it Holly!

Made Coconut pie for dad and Chicken Dorothy for us and Mom & Dad.

Hope to get some laundry done today, too. Going to pick up some perscriptions for mom and dad.

Weather isn't quite as nice as yesterday - 65 and sunny, little windy.  Today is about 57 overcast and rain expected, little windy - it's all unbelieveable for first week of December in KY.  Rain is holding off for now.  Yay!

grannyannie on 12/03/2011:
You CAN do it! Since I was 40 I've been 120-167 at various times. I'm fed up with yo-yo-ing and not doing it again. Last time I weighed what I am now I was 50, but I think I was pretty close to it at 57 when we were in Uganda (didn't have a scale).

hollybelle - Thursday Dec 01, 2011
(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Cereal and 1/2 banana for breakfast + coffee.

I had a  nice experience yesterday - I tried on knee-high boots (dress ones) and actually wound up buying a nice pair of Bandolinos (very plain, moderate high and width heel with only a small pewter looking buckle at the top) good price at DSW.  But the most exciting part was I tried on about 10-12 pairs - yup - that's a lot of boots - and I didn't have a problem zipping up ANY of them AT ALL.  I remember when I was heavier looking for boots and nothing fitting on my calves!  I have always had muscular claves, but when I was heavier they had excess on them as did the rest of me.  That is a success.  I need to remember my successes, as I am a little hard on myself lately.

Anyway - I really wanted black and brown pairs - but no luck on the brown.  And before you think I am "money-bags" McCord, I will also mention that THE pair of boots I wear most every day in the winter is about 20 years old and on their 3rd set of heels!  I love them, though - so comfortable.  They have low heels - not dressy and they are black.  I have black and brown ankle boots I wear all the time, but they have skinny heels and although comfortable not as practical as the old black ones.  My feet MUST be comfortable or I am miserable.  I still have to wear the new ones around the house for a couple of hours to make sure they fit well and I'll be happy with them.  They are 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear, but I tried on the bigger size 3 times to make sure.  So we will see - ENOUGH about boots.

Have a good one everyone!  More later....

liza36 on 12/01/2011:
Great find on the boots. It is a success that you can zip them up!

lolla on 12/01/2011:
Congrats! Celebrate every small success, they are very important and they will fuel your motivation to keep doing better!

grannyannie on 12/01/2011:
That's great! It's feels so good when you don't have to struggle to get something on anymore.

legcramps on 12/01/2011:
Good find! I share the same frustration with the calves being too big for high boots, and I was so pleased when I started running to find my calves tone up and slim down!

Maria7 on 12/01/2011:
So happy for you about your new boots! Like you, I have been wearing a pair of black boots most days during the winters, too and mine are currently on their 2nd set of soles, hehehe. (Just can't find 'em like that anymore and I looked in lots of stores...once I like something I tend to stick with it). :-D

moogy on 12/01/2011:
Hot momma, holly!!! Of course, here boots are a fashion statement rather than a protective covering and tend to be high heeled. Glad you found not only one pair but lots that fit you, excellent work paying off there:)

Just42day on 12/02/2011:
Congrats on the new boots and particularly for being able to see and feel the difference in your legs. That's great!

Ate ok today considering I had a business lunch - grilled shrimp and small salad and a biscuit. Then we had a pot luck at church I ate lightly but did have a very small pice of cake which turned out not very good so I only had about 4 bites. Breakfast was a bowl of cereal and 1/2 banana.  Exercise was 45 mintues of decorating the sactuary for Christmas which was moderately good exercise.  I would like to do ET tonight, but it's so late and I won't sleep well if I exercise too much this late so will end the day with at least 20 minutes of my yoga book.

sweetpea1977 on 11/30/2011:
I love the comment you left me today. Glad your daughter's man enjoyed your cooking! Poor boy grew up deprived of yummy special occasion food. Hubby despised homecooked meals growing up, especially the holiday ones. Apparently, she is the casserole queen and thats all they ever ate. So, he pretty much hates anything that looks like a casserole. Anyway, I cooked my first Thanksgiving meal soon after we got engaged and he literally had tears in his eyes when he took the first bites of food. He LOVED my cooking that much, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! That is something I will never forget! :)

Sounds like you had a great day overall. Hugs to you!!

V on 11/30/2011:
I hear ya!! I have a strict No Cardio rule in the evenings before I have to work.. I get so amped up, sleep is not possible :( Have a wonderful evening <3

Umpqua on 12/01/2011:
Good for you for not eating cake if it wasn't tasty. Not worth it! Your business lunch sounds yummy.

Just want to get this out of the way - We found out yesterday my dad's chemotherapy has stopped working.  He will be connected with hospice services soon.  I am very sad.  I plan to keep posting on DD and not talk too much about it.  But wanted to mention it now so you guys would know what' is happening.  I haven't discussed this with daughter yet.  No need to let her know right now.  I will mention it to her as soon as it comes in in natural conversation.

I didn't exercise last night.  I ate OK yesterday.

I will get back on the ball today.  The store is supposed to exchange the sofa today between noon and 2:00.

Haven't done any Christmas shopping, but then, I don't do much, anyway.  I must go soon - I like to shop on Monday and Tuesday nights when the crowds aren't so big.  I also like to shop on-line!

More later.....

I'm so sorry for the sad news. I'll be thinking about you!

If I have to go to the mall, Mondays are perfect. I was just there last night, and missed all the black Weekend crowds.

I'm very sorry to hear that Holly. I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

Well, the weather has turned to rain this morning and it's really muddy out there.  If it doesn't quit enough to walk outside I am going to do the ET and weights today.  I don't want to spoil my "streak".  This will be 5 days in a row of exercise.

I am making Umpqua's carrot soup today - kind of anti turkey and thanksgiving food.  Can't wait - I love it.

Will update later.
