Goiing to eat dinner with friend for belated birthday at home-style restaurant tonight - I will get vegetables!

No post for me yesterday, but commented on some of your diaries.....not much to say for myself.  Went to Sunday School in a new class yesterday.  It was nice. I'll go back, but the group is very much older than me (10 years or more) and although that's not a negative, particularly, I wasn't expecting it.  The teacher is a retired seminary professor and the lessons are elevated, which is great.  Stretches me.

Mark and I went to the nature reserve down the road and hiked about 4 miles yesterday.  My knees are hurting today.  We did lots of up and downhill.  The uphill was fine, but the downhill killed the knees by the end of the walk...  It was a nice day, though, pretty warm for this time of year.  We are expecting rain and cooler weather every day this week.  Saturday we are supposed to go to Louisville to see our friends there.  Bernheim Forest is another nature reserve and we are going to hike and have lunch - maybe do a little shopping.

Coffee and 1 toast for breakfast

Great job on the hiking...Sorry your knees are giving you some trouble.You must take some pics for me while you are at the trail..I am sure all of the colors of fall are beautiful :) Oh as far as here in St.Pete, all of the bad weather has moved North and we are out of harm's way.. RYC about the visit, LOL I know it's like hearing the same record over and over however, once I sock away enough to last through the winter you will be seeing your pal V, I promise..

It's true, fat thighs don't risk health but if they are too big there's risk of thigh rash! LOL. It's a fat stomach that is the big risk. Yes, occasional splurge is actually good for dieting. Keeps us from quitting!

Been running around crazy last two days - my professional association group did a paint and cleanup day at a shelter-type daycare that we sponsor today.  I was "in charge" of the event and unforturnately we only had 6 people show up to paint three very big daycare rooms. We got two done plus some much needed cleaning for them.  We may go back another time and get the third room done.  We needed about 4 more people to do what we really wanted to do.  I had to coordinate buying the paint and all supplies as well as bringing them along with ladder, etc to the event.  Big job well done to the extent we got it done.  The people who showed up are the most wonderful people.  Really take charge work as a team and get it done types!  I love them!

Then I went to visit mom and dad.  It was so hot upstairs where dad was watching tv in his den.  I sat down and went to sleep!

Eating pretty bad today!!!   But it's just one day - I had toast and coffee, an arby's rb sandwich and a milkshake and a handful of potato chips!  Not sure what to have for dinner.

Going to church in the morning - will post more tomorrow.

Yesterday I had a high calorie lunch but it was good-at Professional Assoc Meeting.  Small Chicken Cordon Blu with green beans.  I didn't eat the potatoes or a roll, but I had the dessert which was a regular size of Berry Cheesecake.  It was most delicious.  I had soup and toast for dinner last night to try to balance it all out.  Did laundry instead of riding my bike, but I needed to get that done.  I am almost done.  Husband comes home from Denver tonight.  Picking him up at 5:00 at airport and going straight to church ladies group.

Hope to get some bike riding in tonight or Elliptical Trainer........I made chicken soup with star pasta last night.  It is pretty good.  I am having that and a dab of pimento cheese and a banana for lunch.

Hi! thanks for commenting on my post. My mind has been spinning past few days about the little rebellion I've been having with myself. I could not figure out what on earth I was doing, and the rebellion thing dawned on me. I noticed acknowledging the bad teenage behavior takes away a lot of it's power. Sure, I can rebel and overeat all I want, but it's me who's gonna pay the price. I've played this game too long to think it's going to end any other way. I noticed you're at half-way point; me too. Last night I spent time with my two girlfriends.  The ones that I used to get together with almost weekly.  We have been busier lately and not able to get together as often.  I was very glad to see them.

I ate OK yesterday nothing too wonderful, but OK.  I didn't exercise - needed to rest after the big bike ride Sunday.  I plan to do something tonight, howver, may have to help Dad take a tiller back to it's owner.  He is working in the yard again.  I just hope he doesn't fall or otherwise hurt himself.  But he is so much happier doing something - I guess it's better this way. 

I have professional association meeting again today.  I am Education Chair once again as the one that took that role has resigned AGAIN.  I am also Community Outreach Chair and have a big cleanup day planned at a local childcare facility on Saturday.  With that and busy season at work I am having a hard time posting all the time.  But I'm on as much as I can - please forgive me for not commenting very much - I am still checking in 4-5 times a week with your posts, though I am adding commenets only if I have something pertinent to add!  Or maybe just to say HI.  I'll rebound when I have more time!!!  You guys are my lifeline most days!!!

Good weekend.

I walked 5 miles Saturday with friend and dogs. I biked 16 windy miles yesterday on the closed trail here in town.  Good workouts.

I ate very well except that I made peanut butter cookies (yum) and ate too many of them, but they were my meals when I ate them and they are gone now.

Planning a good week this week.

Yesterday was a good day.  I don't guess I posted at all - yikes didn't realize.  Food was good but I didn't do any exercise.  Dad's chemo went without incident.  I went over Wednesday night to see him.  Watched TV with him for awhile and  came home. 

B:  Banana and coffee

L:  Subway 6 inch

S:  4 squares of milk choc, yogurt

D:  ??

Making some lentil soup with chicken sausage.

Probably will have cornbread

Ladies group tonight until 7:00 and it's raining so don't know if can ride or walk tonight.  I am tired because I have been up since 3:45...It just hit me.  

More later......

OK - didn't make it to church group tonight.  Too tired - took hour and a half nap!

S:  Cereal with almonds

D:  Extra large smoothie

No exercise........going to bed soon.

Tomorrow is another day!  I had an appointment out of town about an hour and a half away.  Dad has chemo tomorrow.

A crockpot meal is super easy. One suggestion - throw chicken in and top with salsa. After a few hours when chicken is done, shred chicken and put back in the crockpot to soak up the liquid. You can use it to top a salad, make tacos, or serve with rice. It's pretty versitile and easy.

I am making another lean pork roast in the crock pot with cubed sweet potatoes :P I took the recipe I found in muscle and fitness for the casserole and tweaked it...It is like 1 layer lasagne(polenta subbing the noodles, far less calories, far less carbs) The polenta is the base, and then a layer of ff ricotta OR cottage cheese/lf parm mix, then italian turkey sausage tomato mix atop that with a light sprinkle of lf parm/romano to top it off...Bake and voila! a few meals for the week :)

Re: my family reunion. You're right, Holly. We invited people to the reunion who are not part of the "bloodline" so to speak. Why? Gosh, I don't know. Lack of knowledge about planning a reunion? Mistake on our part? A chance to have a party instead of a reunion? It's all really confusing right now.

I scroll through web sites or my cookbooks for inspiration. I have my own collection of recipes that I have made or that I would like to make that I have collected over the years. I often have a breakfast for dinner, I did last night. The rest of your day looked good, I hope you ended up with a good meal.:)
