Did pretty well with healthy foods yesterday - more fresh/natural/whole foods than usual.  check out the 2 mile walk, too!  I wanted to go to TurboKick, but was just too fragmented.  I wish I could attend a morning exercise class. 

B:  Coffee,  1/2 PBJ  260

L:  Hot dog!!!!!!!!!!I "had" to eat it - went to a work function at a customers shop and they really expected me to eat it. So.....oh well.  250  no chips, no cookies, diet soft drink.  Whew - no natural or health whole foods here!  It was even a cheap white bread bun!  They had no fruit, no vegetables, except tomatos and lettuce and pickle relish to go on hamburgers they were also grilling!  At least it built rapport!

S:  Kashi Pumpkin Granola bar X 2 280

D:  Hot Pimento cheese and light Trisucuits @ mom and dad's house -  350

S:  Toast with jam - 145

1285 cals and no exercise.

Great job yesterday, and I have to agree on the store-bought birthday cake. I've been doing that a lot lately, asking myself if something is truly worth the extra calories in terms of taste. Often enough, it's not!

I am with you with the store bought cake, they are always airy tasteless things, homemade cake on the other hand. I mean from scratch (you get the same airy tasteless thing with boxes of cake)are a completely different creature altogether. I am glad all these cakes I am making are going downstairs!! Great job on the walking holly, I hope that you see some results for all this effort come scale time:)

I passed up donuts and should not eat them.I'm a compulsive eater.Just like a alcoholic can't have 1 drink and stop I can't have 1 donut and stop so i need to stay away

They are having Bday cake today in the office, but I won't be having any - it's not even tempting - store bought cake-not for me!

Cooking class sounds fun, I've always wanted to take one! Cooking Light has some wonderful whole food recipes (not all of them are, but I would say the majority). I'm actually letting my subscription to the print mag lapse since all their recipes are online - www.cookinglight.com. Have a good one!

I love the one bit of eclair! Doesn't it just make you feel strong to be able to eat just one bite? And yes I love it when someone brings store bought cake- a good reason to skip it. Just caught up on your post about the cookies- now that is my downfall- big time. I don't think I've ever met a cookie that I didn't like! Good idea about the cooking class- interesting.

I am not going to update Sat and Sunday because it's too late - I did "OK" butnot great over the weekend - lots of exercise - 5 miles walking yetsreday and 2 miles on Fri and Saturday each day.  Calories were 1700-1800 range - Today is new day - renewed committment.

B:  Coffee  75

L:  1/2 Naked Chick & steak burrito from Qudoba - had to meet clients there......not bad not great  probably about 300 calories, I think - bit of rice, bit of black and pinto beans, the meats, pico de gallo, corn salsa, tomato salsa and a dab of guacamole.  and I ate 1/2  No chips no tortilla, etc.

I went to the Simply Nutrition class today.  It was OK - not quite what I hoped for but hey its a start.  I haven't mentioned that I signed up for the class, I don't think.  I want to start eating more whole foods.  I think I know how that goes, but need more recipes.  Of the three recipes the lady made I liked one pretty much.  I didn't like the smoothie very much or the salad.  I found an old cookbook I used to use a LONG LONG time ago.  It is Nikki & Davi Goldbeck's American whole foods  cusine.  It has 1300 meatless recipes from simple to gourmet.  I will study this awhile and see if I can make any recommendation or if they have a newer version.  We know so much more about nutrition today - tooo bad we (as a society) are not applying more of it-Ha!

At any rate food for the rest of the day as follows:

S:  My snack mix 70

D:  Brussel sprouts and leeks with pine nuts, black kale salad, blackberry and Kale smoothie

S:  1/3 banana and cereal with tiny bit milk

I can probably amend a couple of things in the kale salad to make it better.  It had too many strong tastes - used lemon juice and I would have used balsamic vinegar, etc.....I'm just picky!

Not sure of the calories - but I think it's within range.....

Had a 2 mile walk with dogs!  YAY

Calories were ok yesterday, but nutrition wasn't so good.  ate too many cookies from Good Foods Coop grocery!    We had dinnerthere, too, but I hadn't been in a long time and I just went semi-wild on the cookies which I love, Ginge, Whole Wheat Choc Chip and Peanut Butter!

Today so far:

B:  Coffee 50, 1/2 cookie 100= 150

Looks like rain and I want to eercise before it does - walk, bike Turbo?  Not sure.  Knees are hurting pretty bad.  :o(

L:  2 peaches, 1/2 turkey sandwich 270

Making Lasagne for dinner or for tomorrow - depends.....Making it with LEAN chicken spanich sausage, zuchinni, onions, peppers, brocolli hope it turns out.  I got the recipep off line for Sausage Zuchinni Lasagne and made my own changes  :o)

Cookies have a way of doing that, you know...it is difficult to eat just one (or 2). :-D We got some cooling-off, flowers, crops, and trees-watering RAIN today and yesterday, accompanied with soothing thunder-showers. Now we are actually down into the 80's to low-90's...yayyyyy! :-D Btw...I'm currently out of scuppernongs...have you had any yet are or they in season in Kentucky yet???

lately i'm like you, I am alright with the calories I am eating, but they are completely not healthy. hardly any veggies or fruits, going more for the processed snacks/grains/treats. I feel like i'd rather eat unhealthy and not deny myself anything, as of late.

It appears Biscotti beat me to it, but I think you should do a hybrid schedule of TK and ChaLEAN extreme...Your knees will thank you :) If you are not a fan of lifting, you can use resistance bands for all workouts... So no one else is having problems with FB described on my entry from yesterday?  I hope it's not a virus.  I am OK on here, now, but the FB and Google applications are crapping out on me!

Yesterday is updated 1325 calories and 3 mile walk.  Was tired and didn't go to turbo kick.  Husband and I ate out at place called Saul Good-play on words.  Pretty good food, but have a problem with them bc they are light on vegetables unless you want a veggie pizza or big ole salad.  I had lettuce wraps which is the only thing I ever get there..  They are good.

B:  Coffee, 11/2 pieces of toast with jam - no butter. 300

P.S.  I love my new snack Trail Mix I put the following in it:

Mostly Rice Cracker mix

Raw Almoonds

Banana Chips

Raisins

S:  1/2 boiled egg and Trail Mix 150

a Few (like 15 in a BIG bag) Yogurt covered almonds - for a BONUS prize once in awhile  YUM 

L:  Lettuce Wraps from PF Chanag 200

S:  Peach Tea 90

D:  kale, carrots, roasted cabbage 75

S:  3 Cookies!!!!!!!!!  600

1265 claories - uut too much junk.  No exercise. knees hurt pretty bad!

BTW, thank you for your comment. Im going to the doctor near the end of the month and will be putting in a request for blood work. As much as hate needles, I need to know if my thyroid (or something else) is out of whack!!

Thank you for the back up holly, so glad you let me off the hook. I was back at my exercise this morning. I have problems going out to restaurants, I can usually make the things better myself at home. I think I must go out about one a year and that is ususally to the sushi restaurant, for all the variety!! I am a bit of a detective and even my favourite satay chicken from the local Chinese succumed to my food detection and I can make that just as well too. Shame really, but I can't help myself! Can't get there King Honey Prawns though, just as well, they are deep fried in batter!!! A rare treat these days. Have a great weekend holly:)

Our weather is PERFECT!!!  How wonderful in August of all months!  This is my LEAST fav month becasue it is usually so HOT and HUMID.

I am not posting or updating or commenting much lately and I am sorry - but I have laptop issues - they now seem to be mostly on FB - some of you may have seen my message on FB DD group today - When I get on FB  within seconds I get a little box that says something close to: "Internet has lost conectivity - please close and reopen the application" and then it won't let me do anything.  So I am getting on at work for a few minutes and checking messages and everything, but for now if any one here wants me - please contact me here or my regular email address.  I have a NEW email address:  holly.mccord1024@yahoo.com  It is changed on my FB profile, but just in case you haven't switched and would ever like to contact me via yahoo - please change.  :o)

I had a pretty good day yesterday.  just under 1300 cals and a 2 mile walk.

Today I had to attend a business lunch.  I ate a very big lunch - but the success/back story is:  I did not eat the cheesecake that was served!!!!!

B:  1 piece of dakota bread toast and jam - (I think I am on a carb crave right now - probably because of increased activity (?) no COFFEE!  150

L:  small salad - lettuce only, broccoli, baby carrots, new potato (these had some butter on them) and 1/2 grilled chick breast , 1 roll with butter 400 (more or less)

S:  My own mix Trail Mix (from Good foods - not bad!!!)  75

S:  1/2 PBJ sandwich 200

D:  Lettuce Wraps 350 3 oz frozen Yogurt from Meuncie's 150 = 500

Calories = 1325 for all that!  Wow!  I was rather munchie today!  Didn't go to Turbo Kick class - was tired, but did 3 mile walk.

Yes, Ma'am, I sure have gotten some scuppernongs lately (you know how much we love 'em!)! I went to the local farmer's market where I can pick out each one individually (the grocery store has them in see-through plastic cartons which show that about half of the prepackaged ones are NOT ripe at all). I love the golden colored semi-soft big scuppernong grapes and that is what I pick out at the farmer's market. :-D They are soooo good! I keep mine in the refrigerator cause I love 'em cold! (Btw...I'm out of them now...gotta def get some more!) Have you had any this season yet?

Yay for no cheesecake! I've only gotten 2 rooms done with the wallpaper, but I think it's going at a good pace. So far the fabric softener and hot water solution is doing the job. I may try a method using wet sheets that biscotti recommended when I tackle the next room!

You have a great attitude and great job yesterday w/food and your walking. My just fired friend does have family but I think she may have pretty much tapped them out when she was unemployed before. I suspected this job wasn't a good fit from day #1 because she never really seemed happy -- always complained about some aspect of the job when she should have been thrilled to be working. Tough situation for her. I'm committed to be supportive -- emotionally. Have a good day!

Yesterday is updated 1230 calories and 1 hour Turbo Kick class.

Tonight I want to ride my bike or walk.  If it's not too hot I'll ride bike.  It is less humid, but still very hot.  Yesterday was perfect!

Today so far:

B:  Iced Coffee, fiber Bar 190 

L:  1/2 ham sandwich, tomatos and cottage cheese 200

S: Frozen Fro Jo Yogurt  (very small)  250, blueberries (a few) 30 = 280

subtotal  670 perfect! 

S:  Blueberries, 1 T guacamole and 3 chips 75

D:  2 pieces of dakota bread toast with jam - 300

S:  Small smoothie  250

1295 Calories and 2 mile walk with husband and dogs!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

What is frosto? The fact that I have to ask probably mean the answer is no! Good calories Holly and I always figure that riding the bike is quicker, so you can get out of the humidity and heat more speedily!! I only have two weeks of Winter left, sigh!! Have a good one Holly:)

Yesterday is updated - 1235 calories and 2 mile swalk and tried the pushups again.  I am sort of getting better.  They are a challenge for me - hence the name Pushup CHALLENGE, huh???

Laptop still having connectivity issues!  Will have to call provider tonight.

L::  Cottage Cheese and Tomatos 150

S:  2 fiber bars 180

S:  Skinny Cow Ice Cream 150

1230 calories - and I wasn't hungry at all

Yeah, I'm mildly obsessed/driven with the wallpaper project. I keep thinking of how great things are going to look with a fresh bright coat of paint and that's my motivator! I think we're going to go with a sage/moss green to complement the lighter green shade in the living room and make the maple cabinets and floor pop. The wallpaper was a very worn out beige color.

Have been without internet connections (again) for some reason at my house - may be a router problem?????  Anyway haven't posted or commented since a little bit on Sunday a.m.  I have overeaten on calories all weekend, but not really badly...I am back on it with power today! Although I must be careful - lunch and dinner with friends today - Mark is out of town. I must have more proteins this week - too many carbs last week. 

B:  Iced Coffee, banana, 200

L:  Subway Tuna on wheat with lilght chips 435

Dinner will be vegetables - probably around 500 calories and I'll work in that LF cottage cheese I didnt' eat this morning for an extra protein.

D:  biscuit with c ham, Corn on the cob, slaw 400

S:  Biscuit w c ham 200

1235 perfect - two mile walk with dogs - tried some pushup (LOL) again!

under 1,000 calories yesterday.  Just not that hungry - will probably make up for it today.  1 hour Turbo Kick class.  Went to bed early and I do feel much better at the moment.  I won't get to do Turbo Kick on Saturday as I plan to go to Louisville, about an hour and a half away and visit my friend , have lunch and maybe do a little shopping.  Very little as I am on a budget.  I would most like to have some new workout shorts. 

I actually haven't told you guys about my workout wear purchases this week.  Kohls had some cute workout clothes.  I got 6 pieces for less than $40 and i'ts cute stuff.  A patterned champions sport bra, capri tights with a purple stripe, a purple patterned camisole top, a green one like it a neon green patterned tee and some long workout short with cargo pocket on one sie - althought I wore them last night and they are not good for kicks and squat as they are too straight.  I'll have to savae them for Zumba not TurboKick.  Most of my workout clothes are disgusting so I am hapy to have these stylish things.  I am self-conscience about the camisoles, but I think I can get comfortable with them.

Also I posted my real weight the other day.  I was a little lower than I thought - Motivataed to lose 10 more lbs!

OOOOOHHHHHH and I keep forgetting to mention I am working on the pushup challenge.  I am not progressing to more than the 1-2 day totals....but hey - I'm do 'em!
