(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

Yesterday is over.  I did pretty well with the food.  As I said it wasn't all that tempting to me.  I managed not to eat a hot dog - or any of the pig for that matter, although it was probably good, I had those ribs on Saturday and we have the leftovers for today.  I probably ate around 1800 calories but I couldn't really count that well.  That's probably a pretty close guess.  It was very hot and sticky.  I got a few pics with my phone camera I will post on FB or on here later today.  I couldn't get pics of the fireworks - which were most spectacular - as I think my camera speed was just too slow.  They all came out as blurs.  The fireworks show was very long and they had high quality results.  I'll bet it was better than some small town displays.  It's a remarkable block party.

I really like the cousin's house.  They have taken an old bungelow with a basement on an awesome lot and totally blown out the back of it - double decks and everything done to perfection.  It is still a work in progress - they have done most of the work themselves by their own hands, I mean.  Almost done - really only smaller things left to do at this point.  It is really a very cool house.

Hoping to get a bike ride in today.  I didn't get to bed until 2:00 a.m. so no Turbo class with  daughter today.  I am probably going to go back to bed in a little while for another hour or so of "shut-eye".    :o)

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

V on 07/04/2011:
I love the pics :) Everything is so lush and green there, very vibrant..Not much other than palm trees here and that sun is brutal on the lawns here so I don't see green grass very often...LOl That is why i love when Selena posts her pics too ;) I am going to nap as well :)

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

1250 calories yesterday and about 25 miles pretty difficult bike ride. I rode it in 2.25 hours but I stopped at the cemetary and also at the grocery store to pick up the ribs.....so actualy riding time was probably 1 hour and 30-40 minutes so good speed.  I feel strong this morning.  This is probably a good sign.  The last time I rode that hard I was much more tired and wrung out the next day.  I feel nothing but strong today.

Going to cousin's house in Cincinnati today.  Have to make a couple of dishes - what to make what to make??????  Probbly Squash Casserole and a pie.  They never have enough vegetables or fruit - they also don't do that many homemade dishes which irritates me!  When it's a special occasion you MAKE something instead of picking it up at the grocery store......that's the way "we" do it , anyway.  Unless it's an emergency or something, of course. So what I'm saying is I don't think I'll be  THAT tempted at this picnic - their food isn't usually that good.....:o)  We'll see - probably a full report tomorrow as we will either spend the night or come home VERY late.

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 07/03/2011:
Awesome job with the bike ride yesterday! Good for you for bringing healthy food to the picnic so you'll have some decent options. I hope you have a nice time!

Umpqua on 07/03/2011:
Oh no, the "city" in this case is New Haven, where our rental house is located. I WISH we owned property in NYC! New Haven is a nice little city and has been slowly expanding and gentrifying over the past decade, unlike other parts of our state. I love it there!

thinkpositive on 07/03/2011:
Right, agree with you on people bringing pick up food for a picnic. It doesn't have to be fancy, but what does it take to put a salad together? I always try to bring something I can eat. Hope it's a good time.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/03/2011:
i need to do some commenting on your diary...you have been way to kind to me!!! thanks for your support, it is appreciated so, so, so much!! and yes, i'm going to try to say that prayer when i need to!

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

1420 Calories and no real exercise yesterday.  Kind of a laid back day.  Caught up on laundry (a little) and picked up the house a bit.  Feel much more rested today.  Got up at 8:30!  That's about 2 hours late for me.  Today is overcast and a good day for a bike ride.  Daughter and bf have left on a road trip to his family picnic in Western part of the state.  I am glad they are gone, hope they  have fun and stay safe on the road today, but honestly I'm happy they are not around hanging out messing in the kitchen!  Daughter looked very cute in her sundress.  She took shorts and flip flops and her bathing suit as their party will have a pool.

B:  Coffee, cereal and raspberries 250

More later.....

Rode my bike 2.25 hours to nedt town cemetary where all my family is buried.  Hope that doesn't sound morbid to anyone - it wasn't to me.  I had a little chat with them and hopped back on my bike and rode back.  Difficulty - (1-5) 4.25  Distance estimated at 25 miles.  Stopped off at the grocery store on the way back and purchased two slabs of BB ribs for dinner.  Strapped them to the back of my bike and home I went!  Salad and ribs tonight - yum yum!  Going to have a VERY light lunch - too sick to eat at the mo.  :o)

Gonna hit the shower and maybe the pool.

L:  nothing - not hungry

D: 3 BB ribs, 10 potato crowns, 1/2 small salad 500 (?)

S:  fresh pineapple, few pita chips, cereal 500 (?)

ended with about 1250 calories and 2.25 pretty intensive bike ride.

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

Exactly same amount of calories yesterday as the day before 1365.  Walked 2 miles with neighbor.

Off work today!!!  Woo-Hoo!!!  Planning to have fun and catch up on some housework, both.

I have started looking for a used or at least a great sale price on a kayak I can haul over to the little lake in one of of city parks for a paddle on a regular basis.  I used to kayak fairly often using friend's Kayak and really enjoyed the full body (mostly upper) workout it is.  I may find time today or tomorrow to go to some of the sporting goods stores around town to preview what's out there in the "new" market.

More later.....

B:  Late after I went to Sam's Club-Bear Claw Pastry and coffee 350

L:  Mixed Berry Smoothie with avacado 200

S:  Cheese wafers 100

S:  10 pita chips and hummus 170

S:  4 plums 250

D:  chicken sausage pasta left overs 350

1420 calories no exercise yet. Walk later.....

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

I cleaned all the bathrooms, yesterday... don't want to see rubber gloves and cleaning products for a while.

shaunnac on 07/01/2011:
I work at a liquor store. I have never been in a Kayak, but living in Florida I have done a lot of canoeing. I hope you find something, there is something very peaceful about being on the water have a great day.

Umpqua on 07/01/2011:
I love to kayak, my MIL and our friends who live on the lake have several of them. I'm hoping to get out in one soon. Have a good one! P.S. MIL got hers on Craigslist, FWIW.

sweetpea1977 on 07/01/2011:
Yay for the day off! :)

Oooh, a kayak sounds like a wonderful investment. Is there such a thing as an outdoor sports consignment shop in your area? I've never kayaked before, but it looks like a lot of fun. Maybe its something we can do as a family once our boys are old enough to help paddle. :) It would also make a great group activity for a DD retreat, dontcha think? Good luck on your search!!

Umpqua on 07/01/2011:
FWIW = for what it's worth. Sorry, I spend too much time on the Internetz ;P

sweetpea1977 on 07/01/2011:
haha, whoops. I just had a blonde moment. Most days, I do know the differences between kayaks and canoes, just not today. :) My parents own a kayak, but I have yet to try it. The also have a row boat that I havent tried either. In fact the only boats I've been on are paddleboats, tourist glass-bottom boats, amusement park ride boats, and my parents 30ft sea cruiser (which I do not know how to operate, lol).

mcwoo40 on 06/30/2011:
Good for you on the bike ride, bet your getting really toned.I am out of breath walking up hills nevermind riding.I don't feel safe riding a bike around here, near the town.Where we do our walk there is a cycle track through the woods, it's lovely when the sun's out!!!Hope you have had a good time with friend, and healthy choices too :)))

mcwoo40 on 06/30/2011:
I don't really see the boss that often, as i work very early mornings he'll be still snoozing!!! i guess it was because it was in the middle of the woods,in the middle of no-where.The boots where quite comfy, but i don't know if it was because i had been to the gym previous,or the weight of the boots that where making my legs ache.Think i will get some insoles for added comfort as the bottom of my toes where getting sore. They stood the test of time considering they where used for two and a half hours,ta ta for now.

Weight: 165.6

1365 calories yesterday - no real exercise, except 10 minute walk.  It was a lovely night weather wise and we enjoyed the concert outdoors along with picnic dinner - see details on yesterday's entry below...

I am wearing one of my favorite pairs of black walking/working/dress shorts today - Liz Claiborne size 10.  They fit perfect which leads me to say-when  I look at my legs in the mirror and they look so much better than they did earlier this year - no puffiness, smaller ankles, more shapely calfs and around the knees, the thighs - not so bad (hee-hee).  My arms are fine-even my "rear portion" is OK in my view (thanks to biking!!), But that lower belly!  I can tell a big (flabby) difference since I have NOT been dolng the Turbo Abs/Jam or any Turbo for that matter.  I am going to do some (at least the abs 4 days per week and wait for the results on my lower belly!    No use whining about it - I'm just going to get to work....AB work that is!.

B:  McD's Med Iced SF Vanilla Iced Coffee w 1/2 cream and vanilla, 1 boiled egg 175

L:  Grilled Chicken 90 (from a pre-cooked package but it was delicious!) and mango -60 .....Special K pretzel bar 90 = 240

S:  Banana (100)

subtotal = 515  GOOD!!

S:  4 toasted coconut marshmellows 1 ww popcorn wafer w almond butter and lt cream cheese 300

D:  chicken thigh and salad no dressing  350

S:  small smoothie with strawberries, blueberries and yogurt and skim milk 200

1365 calories and bike ride - 1.5 hr riding medium difficulty

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

KathyBlue on 06/29/2011:
The dogs loved the concert? WOW, that's so cool. I tried to analyse the relationship between my cats and music (all genres) but I never noticed anything, that they would like or dislike any particular genre or music. Sometimes I catch one watching the telly but we can never know if the show itself or the brightness is what's attracting them. :-) Once I saw a documentary on NatGeo, about how plants reacted to music - well, that was something extraordinary. But the result could be seen in their growth, something my cats are not developing anymore, LOL...

Yesterday is updated for just at 1400 calories and no exercise. I saved energy for today's bike ride and I was so sleepy from getting up so early yesterday, however, I got up at 6:30 this morning after going to bed at 10 and sleeping all thought the entire night - no drugs.

Bike ride was  ride this morning after a light breakfast at Good Foods Cafe....This bike ride was different from my usual one.  I rode with a different biking riding riend who just got a new bike. The bike she got is very diff from mine.  I think hers is a Raleigh brand.  Its kind of retro although it has thin tires.  She is just beginning to ride bikes and isn't used to changing gears or anything.  The weather was PERFECT today.  We rode in really beautiful, historic neighborhoods and out the the reservoir past all the pretty houses there.  It was fun.  I got a pretty good work out because we rode for 2.5 hours, only stopped for a water break about two time, I think.  We didn't cover that much territory because we rode fairly slow.  She will get the hang of changing gears and powering down hill so you can use mommentum to get up the next hill soon and we will be able to ride much further in a shorter amount of time.  I She will get the hang of it and we'll cover more distance soon.  I don't have an odometer and I'm bad at guessing distance.  So I don't have any stats for this ride-except time.

B:  Tiny bit of all the following, grits, vegan sausage, 5 small chuncks of roasted white and sweet potato, coffee  300 @food coop

Friends coming for dinner.....more later - thanks for all your commnets, DD friends - I 'll check out your diaries later tonight  :o)

L:   6.5 oz lot fat Frojo Yogurt , 1 bbq wing sample from Whole Foods Tastng of a couple of other things -it's amazing how little I can eat and still be satisfied  375

S:  Nuts   200

Dinner was left over pock chops sliced very thin and cooked with onion,s thrree color peppers, lots of spices and wine and stuffed with a tiny bit of refried beans and cheese in tortillas with plain salad and angel food cake with 1/4 C light vanilla ice cream and berries - no sugar.....Probably 500

Angel Food Cake while cleaning up kitchen!  140

1615 calories and  2.5 hours bike ride

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!
