(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

Yesterday is uipdated. 1410 calories - oooops I forgot something I ate!  Vanilla Wafers - so add another 200 to that - yikes - 1610.  Still not bad for a weekend.  Also - it just goes to show how you can mount up calories on the least little things - attention to detail is the key!  No exercise yesterday but I'll work out today at some point.  I just had a meeting scheduled for 3:00 I wasn't counting on and I am having a couple of friends over for grilling tonight. It is 96 degree - again.  98 predicted for the next two days and then back to 96!  It has never been this hot this early this many days in a row!

B:  Iced vanilla coffee - homemade - McD's yogurt parfait due to being on the road before 8:00 this morning.  215

L: Smoothie - in this heat it is great!  I walked off and forgot my boiled eggs for more protein, though!!!  Oh, well having company for grilling tonight will make up for it.  I know we are having fruit for dessert, though!  Whew - what a relief.  250

S:  Pub Mix -that dark stuff is gone now!  I did enjoy it and it wasnt really unhealthy it kept me from eating worse stuff - 200

D: 1/2  Wonderful Grilled Chicken Breast, Grilled Vegetables (zuchinni, yellow squash, asparagus, red onions, Orange Bell Pepper, with garlic paste, dill paste, olive oil, Herb n Renewal Herb n All, salt,  blk and red pepper).  Strawberries w light whipped cream.  450???

Oh, and 1/2 a beer  not sure of the calories Dos Equis Lager Especial  Couldn't hold it all LOL!

1110 and I am full + the calories in the 1/2 beer!!!

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

where are you from? 98 is really hot for anywhere this time of year! It was around 90 last week here in ny and thats super hot for us this time of year

Thank you so much... I loved what you said, and you're right...being able to see multiple sides of a situation as a lawyer just makes me a better attorney, I know everyone's flaws and strengths and that will give me an advantage. Thank you... I do want this job, and I'm going to get it!!! =)

nosetwitch on 06/06/2011:
Thanks for the encouragement! oooohhh i love 'nilla wafers. and you're right, attention to detail is mandatory to losing weight.

Hiya Hollz,it said on the news in some areas they where having a heatwave some areas floods and in some areas of the U.S tornado's weired is'nt it.We had our 'summer' in april.Little rain atm but still warm(ish). In the answer to your question,no i have'nt got any shrubs/plants as yet.I thought the chap over the road is hopefully coming next week to do some exterior painting at mcwoo's palace!!!!and i thought he would want to place his ladders where the plants would go,so i will wait till he is finished.Wanted it done really before i go off on my hopefully restful week but i doubt it.I am even going to get up (6ish am)and go to the gym,to keep me in my routine. As for my phone i don't think it will mend. When i first did it,i could see what's on the screen and everytime i turned it off it went worse now it does'nt respond to anything.I did get to like the phone(not at first)in the end but not enough to get another one to replace it.Android are doing an update 2.3 calling it gingerbread and my BIL did the update on my broken phone and it worked a treat. There was a camera on it but no flash, that was the only bad point really.WE WILL TRY AND BE GOOD WON'T WE :))))Happy cycling!!

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

Yesterday is updated and although I didn't post my foods  -  for the last half of the day (I can't even exactly remember!!) I know I had right at 1550 calories - even with making raisin bran cookies - yep - cookies - they were good.  I made them using Martha White Honey Brand muffin mix (in the little envelope at the grocery) and adding pecan pieces, raisins, two eggs, 3 T oil and a little water until they were good consistency.  I baked at 350 until bottoms were browned and then under the broiler so the tops were SLIGHTLY browned , as well.  Baked them on parchment paper since they had so little fat.....and cooled them 1/2 way before removing from cookie sheet........reipe in a nutshell!  I am going to try it with other flavors of muffin mix.

Re-hung patio swing using the chain and S hooks I got on my bike ride yesterday. It looks good..  I worked in the yard a bit - it's HOTTTTT here!  as in 96 degrees!  Where did our spring go?  It washed away in the rain we had EVERY day in April and May,  I guess.  I will have to wait until late to walk or bike ride today.  I got up late - actually I got up at 5:30 and read the paper for an hour  and went back to bed until 10:30,  It was Awesome!

Today so far:

B:  Buckwheat waffle with maple syrup, iced coffee 450

L:  Watermelon 60

S:  Smoothie  250

S:  Pub Mix and Avacado 300

D:  spaghetti and turkey meatballs - this was great as I used a jarred sauce produced by ne of my favorite restaurants in N kY - Pompillio's - it was featured in the movie years ago "Rain Man" which was partially shot in Cincinnati.  Delicious  350

1410 - not bad for a weekend - no exercise except working in the yard.  OK I needed the rest, I guess.

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

moogy on 06/05/2011:
I do not envy you the heat. I am enjoying the cold at the moment and revelling in it. I prefer to snuggle up to get warm rather than sweat any day. Good job with the baking. Sounds like you needed that sleep in. Have a good week Holly:)

mmm raisin bran cookies. i actually like them better than chocolate chip. hope you had a great sunday!

h82bfat on 06/06/2011:
I hear ya about the heat... I was out running errand one day 2 weeks ago & spring turned into summer midway thru the day! My clothes were just sticking to me!! Hope you were able to get out & "do your thing". Timing in the summer is everything!

KathyBlue on 06/06/2011:
oh, well! Let me try to describe the recipe: I cooked a whole cauliflower (in pieces) in water+skimmed milk+salt+a Knorr cube for soups. Then, I put 2 slices of corn bread, chopped, in a bowl, with 3 whole-wheat salty biscuits, garlic puree, dried onion, cummins - and I blended them on the lowest grade. Then I got the oven tray buttered, half of the bread mix on the bottom, then the cauliflowers, then the rest of the bread crumbs and finally, a LF yogurt spread on top... I hope this helps :D

Umpqua on 06/06/2011:
Omigosh your cookies sound good. And so does that buckwheat waffle! Have a good one!

my invention, the cauliflower plate, hehe... :-) And I used light soy margarine for the oven tray, Alpro Soya brand. The salt biscuits were those with high fiber content, low-cal (19 kcals each)

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

Yesterday is updated.   A little high on calories and not very good nutrition.  We went to dinner at this little restaurant out in the country that used to be a grocery store.  The food was pretty good - mixed reviews actually.  We will go back and try some different stuff.  Had Fried Banana Peppers  -  one of the few things I eat fried.  They were great, but didn't have room for much more after that.  Only ate a few bites of chicken salad but later had some vanilla wafers dipped in choc.  But 1520 for the day and 3 miles walking with husband and the dogs.  I stopped off at a shoe store after dinner and found the Deal of the Year!  Reeboks for $30!!  Previous discount store price $75!  I really like them.  I wore them on the walk and they didn't even need breaking in.  May give the Asics I bought for $65 on sale 3 weeks ago to daughter!  They are not working out for me.

Nothing to eat so far - it's before 7 a.m.  I didn't sleep well last night - didn't take the sleep aid.  Bike ride this a.m. as soon as I have some coffee.  :o)

UPDATE:  1 Hr 45 Min Bike Ride this morning!  Woo-Hoo that is not counting the 10 minutes I was in the hardware store to get 4 S hooksn for the patio swing.  They weren't included in my swing chain purchase yesterday!  Added another $5.50 to the cost, but the ropes we have used for years wore out and I though chains were the best replacement.  Total $26.00  I still need to get some rubber/plastic tubing to put over the chain where they go through the wood on the arm rests of the swing so the chain doesn't rub.  I love to swing in it....So peaceful early in the a.m. or late at night (if I have my Off personal insect repellant on!  LOL!  We have creek in back yard and it attracts lots of mesquitos!

Off to do laundry and sort clothes, etc.

B:  Iced Vanilla Coffee - delicious!  125

L:  1/2 lg chicken breast on salad w almonds, 5 croutons and lf poppy seed dressing.  YUM  500

 UPDATE:

Can't even remember what I ate yeterday evening - but I know I counted up to 1550 calories.  Good day.  Good bike ride.

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

I couldn't Turbo either, and it was plain laziness! Arrived home, all I wanted was sofa and Law&Order... then I found myself inpatient for L&O, I went to the PC... no patience for the PC either, so I went to bed. OMG, these blue pills are killing my nerves I guess. Fortunately I only have to take 3 more and then it's over - hopefully, for good!

I have the Abs! :) Yesterday's aquafitness was very hard on the legs and the abs, we did so many exercises in suspension, OMG...! I love the term "nutrition wasteland"! :) About the other topic: I really am relieved! The best part was getting rid of those nightmares of trying to catch him and talk to him and the unability to do so! Bahhh... Now it's past, he's past. Funny thing: he added me on FB this week! :) So, are you proud of me, too? :D I'm so proud of myself, having been able to resist to that carrot pie... and it's here in my desk! :D

Yesterday is updated. Good day.  I have church tonight, but plan to exercise after that when it cools down.  I can't believe it's so hot here.  No relief this whole week - but hey - it's not raining!

Today so far:

B:  McD's Iced SF Vanilla Coffee LG , Boiled Egg - 165

L:  BBQ Pork Loin Sandwich 350

S:  Almonds 150

Dang! Daughter made more lemon cookies!

I could have resisted, but I didn't.  I worked it into my calorie count:

D:  Two lemon cookies -   1/2 cantelope, Last two slices of r w & b bread - nutrition is in the ditch - but calories are OK - half the battle better than none and I am full 550

calories 1215 - probably no more tonight and 90 minutes of Turbo Jam!  Yay!  But I needed more fruits and vegetables today!  Whew nutrition wasteland,  Tomorrow is another day  - maybe I'll start out with a fruit and vegetable smoothie - yeah, that's the ticket!

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

OK today is set for success.  I have a very stressful week ahead, actually probably month will be stressful.  But I will be ready for it by doing good things for my body, mind and spirit.  Exercise and good food for my body.  Keeping expectations reasonable about EVERYTHING and staying on top of the things I can for my mind.  Prayer and meditation on God's word and how good God is as well as counting my  MANY MANY blessings for my mind.

B:  Coffee, 2 pieces of R, W & Blueberry Bread - toasted - 315

I plan to eat in the 1500 - 1600 calories range for the next couple of days.  Since I've been eating higher calories lately, I remember my body always responds better when I step down the cals GRADUALLY.  That way pressure is lighter, too.   I'll be back to 12-1400 by Thursday.

S:  Watermelon  65

L:  Subway Tuna on wheat and diet coke  :o)  450

S:  4 chips and 2 T salsa, 100

D:  1/2 pork loin sandwich (very lean) with BBQ sauce, 2/3 mango, 1/2 piece of fresh corn on the cob and 1 skinny cow ice cream sandwich 150+55+60+140=400

I have noticed that I am a little bit sore from the Yoga I did yesterday morning.

1330 calories and 3 miles walk after outdoor concert at the arboretum with the dogs and husband.  Fun and it does not appear I reached the 1600 cal limit that I set for myself.  So all is well.  I feel a bit bloated, though.  It was almost 9:00 when we started to walk, and it's a good thing because it didn't cool down until then.  It was over 90 degrees today and about 65% humidity.  Yep, that's KY - we go from 45 degrees to 90 in about one week.  We have had maybe 3 days of true spring weather this year.....otherwise it has either poured rain, been really cold or both.  But I am thankful we haven't had floods or tornados like other areas.  Considering that it's not so bad.....I walked really FAST because I wanted to get home to the AC!

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 165.6

Yesterday wasn't too bad.  I ate too much sweets and felt TERRIBLE!  Physically not mentally.  When you've been eating healthily for awhile putting all that sugar in your body makes you feel bad.  I "slept it off" and and am starting over today.  I would say I had about 2200 calories yesterday.  Exercise was running around waiting on everyone.

Going to call neighbor in a minute and see if she wants to come over and do Turbo Jam.  The humidity was shot up here to ungodly heights.  It's supposed to be 96 degrees today with humidity at 80%.  It's 75 at 9:00 this morning and 65% humidity already.  So far this spring we have had record, rains, lows, highs and storms.  Although I'll certainly accept tht over  what  many states have experienced with the tornados and floods.  God bless all those effected by the weather in adverse ways.

B: Toast with jam and good coffee  350

Oh, yes, and I wanted to say - thanks to ThinkPositives suggestion - have no unhealthy foods left over (except for D's candies!!! and I'll just have to resist those!!) due to sending everything home with the guests!  YAY!

Exercise:  25 minutes of Yoga X with daughter and BF.  That was all I could do.  But it was Enough.  It's a 45 minute intense dvd.   Part of P 90X dvd.  I'm happy that I did this much.

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

loveray on 05/30/2011:
i hear you on the sugar detox!!! it does make you feel yucky after eating "clean" for so long. i felt like that on my birthday. cake and champagne and sangria...ugh, so sick!! but so much fun. have a great rest of your week. xoxo

loveray on 05/30/2011:
PS - buckeyes are a MAJOR weakness of mine...so delicious.

KathyBlue on 05/30/2011:
wow, do you have a bigger space so you can do exercise together? That must be better than doing alone. BTW I have 2 TurboJams now, I have to send you the details through FB's private message so you can see if they're good for a beginner :)

KathyBlue on 05/30/2011:
Thanks for the info, I'm going to read it from home! I'm very confused now, you know. I don't know if I have ED or I'm just being stupid, or if I could explain all with stress? I am definitely not the "binge + overexercising" person, because people constantly accuse me (around me). I do enjoy my exercises, I never do because of "guilt" ("I ate a chocolate, now I have to burn twice of the calorie value on the treadmill" etc.). I have something similar to HOP's binging problems. I hope I will be able to overcome without professional help, I'm still very confident I can, and I believe it's something derivated to stress...

KathyBlue on 05/30/2011:
I think I have this: "Eating Out of Control

People who consider themselves food addicted describe their symptoms: uncontrollable cravings for food (usually sweets and rich foods); bingeing or eating huge amounts of food at a time (usually forbidden food); obsession and preoccupation with food; fantasizing about food and eating; feeling "high" during or after food binges; depression and/or irritability during binges or periods of abstinence; terrible guilt about eating; inability to control eating once it gets started; inability to stay away from "bad" food; serious physical, emotional and social consequences of overeating. Doesn't this sound like "foodaholism"? Indeed it does, but it isn't. It just sounds like it."

Just that mine is not with forbidden food, at least most of the time is not. I am able to overeat soups and salads. Ridiculous.

legcramps on 05/30/2011:

Just stopping by for a quick post.  I did OK yesterday, but I had a couple of homemade candies - that is what daughter is making for picnic - bourbon balls and buckeyes!  You'd think it's Christmas instead of Memorial Day.  I didn't track, but I know I stayed within cals - just doing a quick count in my head...LOL!  I have the meat for the BBQ made and just need to  add sauce etc.  I made fruit salad and I had toast and coffee for breakfast.   We'll eat about 4:30 or 5:00 guests will arrive at 3:00.  Our house looks nice.  Pressure washed the front porch, sidewalk and part of the driveway.  I wish I had finished the deck last weekend, but I'll be working on it for the next couple of weekends before I'm done and then I'll paint the trim......I like working outside as opposed to housework!

I have decided I'm goning to eat drink and be merry today, but get right back on track. That's the way to do it.  I am also going to workout steadily the next few days so the impact of any over-indulence isn't too great!

Have a lovely day all!

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

Have fun Holly ;)

Well done Holly, you handled that really well. I think that you are right, keeping on track most of the time with special occasions to have a little treat. Enjoy:)

Good plan. Enjoy the day.

Those treats sound incredible (as does the patriotic bread you described)! My boys love the buckeyes and we've been known to make them in the summer too. Congrats on getting all the outside work done!
