Yesterday is updated and it was successful despite no exercise.  I had to REST for the first time in many days.  I was able to enjoy the food at the restaurant last night AND kept it within the 1400-1600 calories range I set for myself.  Best honest honest estimate was about 1435 - so on the low end of the range, at that!  Today I  plan to try the 45 minute turbo jam dvd.

Oh, btw - daughter had about 25 participants for her first Turbo Kick class yesterday. It was a free class yesterday, but when she begins to teach for "real" she will charge fees.  That should begin this week or the next.  Her boyfriend recorded some of the class on her phone and it looked like everyone was keeping up and having fun. 

Onward and upward dear friends.......Happy Mother's Day to those of you who are mothers.  Have a good day - what ever you do!

Wow, perfect achievement w/ the restaurant! This Turbo is that Turbo of V's? I'm extremely curious about it, LOL! But I guess it involves lots of jumping?! Thank you for your support, Holly! It makes me mad and sick worried that I am unable to answer to some of your basic questions about the surgery, because I haven't asked the doctor! Is it normal to know the answer to WHEN? but not to the WHAT? and HOW?.... I'm going to ask second opinions in Hungary as well. I'm traveling on Friday! That's a shining bright spot on my normally dark horizon right now. :D

Hey Holly! Happy Mother's Day!

To answer your question about the whole wheat products I shouldn't be eating - the book says it's because they contain lectins that react with the digestive tract and interfere with absorption, plus the glutens in wheat germ interfere with metabolism. Who knew?! It says Essene or Ezekiel bread is the best for me because they're live foods... I have no idea what these are though. I might try rye bread because that seems to be "ok" for me. Thanks for your suggestion of lettuce leaves - that sounds interesting and I might try it out!

Yikes!  More than I meant to eat this morning!  Just goes to show how quickly I can get off plan when I don't pay attention.  I ate the granolanut bar early and actuclly Forgot I ate it and made the smoothie!!  Oh well - big lunch today but probably no dinner as husband is off to visit his mother and I won't have to prepare any dinner.  Got exercise out of the way already with Turbo.....woo-hoo

Yesterday is updated.  1435 calories and 40 minutes of exercise Turbo/Elliptical combination.

I was SO TIRED yesterday.  I think I may have overdone it this week just a litttle.  I will be stronger for it in the long run, though.  I went to bed early and feel much better this morning.  I was a little off plan yesterday in that I ate two cookies with milk (skim) last night.  They had been laying around the house for 3 days (daughter made them) and when I am tired I have noticed that is when I go for the sugar.  Also I know that when I don't eat enough good food I am more likely to go for the junk.  I will need to watch that I eat good food and enough of it.  I had a couple of very low calorie days this week and in the long run that does NOT pay off.   My stomach does not feel all that good this morning.  I know it's because of the cookies. Good food makes you feel good.  

B:  Coffee.........more later. 1/2 peanut butter and honey sandwich  225

L:  1/2 turkey sandwich, humus and carrots 275

S:  1/2 oz cheese and 7 pita chips  100

Now I'm set to have a nice dinner and allow about 800 calories for it!

No exercise yet, but I must do at least 30 minutes on the ET before I jump in the showe!

D:  salad, muffin, chicken, frozen yogurt  This was probably within the 800 calories I allowed.  The muffin was small and plain.  The chicken was roasted, the salad was small and it was a small helping of froz yougurt.....  So I'll say it was a success tonight.

Total calories for the day was right around 1400-1600  So Yay.  No exercise, though.  I took a day off I was still very tired after housework.  Only day in more than a week.  I took a 2 hour nap!  Tomorrows meal will be a buffet.  I think I can keep it under control, though.  I will exercise tomorrow.  Tomorrow we are eating the  big meal at 1:00.  So maybe I'll be full the rest of the day/night after that.  Today we didn't eat until 7 p.m. and I couldn't waiit all day to eat.

Perhaps you have done a bit too much this week but at least you know what the problem is. Just popped by to wish you a Happy Mothers Day weekend :-) We had ours in the UK a few weeks ago. In the UK Mothers Day is connected to the date of Easter, I think it falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent, so the date varies from year to year :-)

Don't focuss on those 2 cookies! They aren't the end of the world. Acknowledge, adjust & move on. That's all any of us can do. I do agree though, that when we are tired we reach for the sugar, becus - well, it's so readily available. In the spring & summer, I can keep cookies (& crap in general) in the house for my dghtr becus fresh, ripe fruits are plentiful then. So, when the urge for something sweet hits me, I can grab some kinda mellon, berries or grapes. I get my "sugar" fix, feel satisfied & I DON'T feel guilty. Winter time is another story...... ;c)

I really want to make it real,this time, yes!I used to live with my boyfriend for a while but he had to go to military, and after quiting the job i started to live with my mother again. But i'll try to find a job just for money (sure it wont be the job of my dreams) and will try create my own chance to improve my skills.By the way,i'm sorry to disappointed you but Beirut is a band from Santa Fe and they make a kind of balkanian music,but yes you're close because i als do belly-dance while doing my exercise:) Dr. Oz also suggests belly dancing to loos gain from belly area;) BTW, Wish you a happy mother's day!!

Yes, very important to make sure that you eat enough good stuff so that the bad stuff doesn't tempt you. I think you are doing amazingly well. I am so impressed with your exercise and that you are listening to your body. Keep up the great work holly:)

Yesterday was 1205 calories and 2 mile walk/run/boxing session!

My goal is to have a really good weekend despite the two dinners I'm locked into.  There is no reason I cannot enjoy the dinners and STILL stay within the goal of 1200-1400 per day.  I really need the good weekend.  I am really beginning to see a difference in the way clothes fit and how my mid section is looking!  I want to GO with that not suffer a set back!  I can do this.  One strategy may be to do some extra workout time.  I can probably handle that.

Neighbor came over late and only had time for one time through the 20 minute workout so I hopped on the ET and did 20 additional minutes - it was a GOOD workout.  I did the Mountain ciruit on level 6.  Averaged 5 mph, distance = 1.57 mi and burned 200 cals.

We are getting better at know what comes next in the 20 minute workout.  I think I only messed up one time this morning and we are able to put A LOT more into it - hops and energy where there normally is none in it.  I'm ready to go for the 45 minute workout tomorrow.  I'll do whatever neighbor wants to do, though and then preview the 45 minute workout for myself.  Rachel keeps asking me to come to her class on Sat, but I really would like to have workout time separate, I think.  She is so sick with allergies (cold), I feel bad for her having first class this weekend, but her enthusiasm has not waned in the LEAST!

Congrats on doing so well with your cals and walking, running, etc. :-) Yes, you can certainly enjoy your 2 dinners and still do well. What helps me is limiting my breakfast and snacks to low-cal and no nite-time snacking. That way I don't feel deprived when having a nice dinner to have to limit myself (much) at that also. :-D Have a good day.

Yesterday is updated totals for the day were:  1138 calories and 40 minutes of Turbo and 10 minutes of ET in the a.m. and 1-1.5 mile walk in the evening.  Yay me!  I did fairly well on carbs yesterday.  I went to the Fresh Market for some Turkey Italian Sausage and did not resist one of their wonderful rolls.  But it could have been worse.  I plan to really eat healthy the rest of the week because I have two big food challenges coming up this weekend.  1)  Birthday dinner with husband on Saturday night - great restuarant downtown and 2)  Mother's Day with my Mom = who knows where, but in a restaurant.  Good news is I won't be cooking much this weekend!  

I am off to another good start of the day today.  My workout buddy wanted to sleep in :o(  so I gave myself a chance to MISS Chalene and went for a 2 mile walk this morning.  I broke up the walk with some jogging (couldn't really call it running) and some of the Turbo moves like punches, pumps and side guards as I went along.  I walk in a fairly low traffic area at that time of the a.m. and I was thinking I hope no one sees me and thinks "what in the world is that old lady doing", but then I thought, I don't care - I'm out here doing this for me and who cares what ANYONE thinks!  Ha!  I feel more like ME (almost).  I can actually see myself at 145 lbs!  I'm just sayin'....... 

B:  1/2 C Cottage Cheese, fresh pineapple, coffee 100+65+75=240

L: 1/2 Turkey sandwich on dbl fiber bread with a smidge of mayo, 1 C cantelope 165

S:  Nut Crunch snack bar - low carb 190

S:  Orange 65

D:  Wasn't hungry at dinner time and we had to go out - I ate about 3 olives while I cooked some dinner for Mark - mostly warmed up left overs also 3 naked pita chips and 3 extremely thin slices of cheese  probably 125 calories  

So 755 so far - but I'm gonna eat something before the night ends.....May do another walk, but I may take it easy the rest of the night - we'll see.  Have a load of laundry in the washer and must get that out, etc.  Neighbor said she would be over at 6:15 tomorrow for sure.  She just needed a rest today..  :o) 

LATER:  Smoothie and 7 naked chips and 2 T Hummus - 450

1205 Calories

Yesterday is up to date.  Had 1400 calories.  Did 40 minutes of Turbo Jam dvd with neighbor last night.  We decided to get up early this morning and do it again and to try to do it again tonight.  So we got up at 5:45 a.m. and did the 20 minute workout two times again.  I am catching on that some of the moves end and begin with the same arm and that helps.   That is very counter-intutuative but once watch what the instructor is doing it makes sense.  It's not your mother's aerobic workout, for sure and it's good to have a challenge.  So far my crazy knees are holding up.  I also did 10 minutes on the elliptical trainer afterwards.  So today is off to a good start!

B:  Little bit of coffee  50, cottage cheese and fresh pineapple  250=300

L:  1/2 toasted ham and cheddar urned cheese sandwich, cold beet salad= 210

S:  More beets 25

S:  Almond Crunch bar 190  1/2 C coffee w cream (sample in store) 38 = 228

D:  1 link turkey italian sausage cooked in spaghetti sauce 160

S:  succumbed to a roll at last minute......150

Did an extra workout tonight, but not the Turbo Jam.  Neighbor was too tired and didn't want to burn out - good reasoning - so we walked about 1-1.5 miles tonight with the doggies.  It felt good.  It's very cool weather here.  Going down in the 30s tonight!!  Of course this is KY and the weather can be crazy.  I remember snow flurries on Derby Day (first Sat in May) one year!  This Sat is Derby.  Here in Lexington we barely know there is a horse race in Louisville!

Totals:  1138 calories and 40 minutes Turbo Jam, 10 minutes ET, and 1-1.5 mi walk.  Woo-Hoo burned some calories today!

LOL!!! I love when Chalene says"This aint no BABY workout" You got that right! LOL Not sure if you know that I too have knee issuse and sometimes I do the plyometrics and other times I must remind myself that I DON'T have springs for legs...LOL I am hoping that Chalene might need to give Allie(her only low impact go to girl) a break from time to time and she might give me the opportunity to fill in for her ;) Have a good day!!! :)

I use the foam roller for my back, my thighs and my calves - sometimes my neck; basically for anything that hurts ;)

I will be back on after my evening Turbo class but on the Fire Classes there is a New to class option on each workout....I noticed this option 2 weeks into it...I kept thinkin to myself"this is really tough for a newbie" DUhHHH!!! LOL I bet you have the same new to class option on yours... I read your email and :) I would LOVE to!!!! You must tell Sweetpea to stop sending me new workout gadgets and ideas that cost money,(I can't resist shiny new objects) so I can save a bit of Dinero....I bet between you and Rachel, I will be very busy ;) LOL

Yesterday is updated.  950 calories and 40 minutes of Turbo Jam.  We did the 20 minute workout twice.  I would move on, but we want to get the moves down pat so our technique is good before we do.  My neighbor has never exercised AT ALL before.  We'll probably do the 20 minute workout twice 2 more times and then go to the next dvd.  It is fun.

B:  Coffee is all so far.....1/2 C Cottage Cheese and Blackberries 225

L:  1/2 turkey sandwich on Dbl Fiber bread with the tiniest bit of mayo possible and 1/4 C cooked beets  210

S:  BL honey peanut bar  110/ 1 C Cantelope 65  175 

S:  Nuts 300

D:  Cole Slaw, grilled chop, asparagus, water  500 (dinner with a friend)

1400 just about on the nose, I think.  Did the 20 minute work out for Turbo Jam twice with my neighbor...We are going to try to do it tomorrow morning twice and tomorrow night twice. I wish I could get the flow of the moves down more so I could put more into it.  I'm getting better, but I'm not used to the style at all.  Its still fun and beats the snott out of sittingon the couch.

Sounds like you really get into Turbo Jam! Don't cha just love it when exercise actually becomes, well - fun?! Glad your neighbor is on board too. Having an exercise buddy really helped me (years ago) get my routine going (I don't have one at the moment) Cudos to you BOTH!

I had my first good eating and exercise weekend in ages!  Kept calories within range and exercised  This week's goal - more of the same!

B:  2 fried eggsand coffee 185  May eat some fruit later

 L:  1/2 LS Ham sndwich with mustard on dbl fiber bread and 1 C cantelope 175

I can tell I am shrinking!!  The pants I am wearing today are realy pretty darn big on me.  They are some of my favorites,s too - oh darn (not!!)

D:  Leftover Salmon, tiny bit of brown rice, carrots and 2 C cantalope  375

S:  1/8 C nuts 150

885 WOW could that be right.  But all was good and I was not hungry so it's OK once in a while.....

S:  Orange 65

950 Updated calories

Exercise = 40 minutes of Turbo Jam with Neighbor!

Yesterday was kind of a loss.  I got a lot of housework done but not much else.  Today am doing turbo jam with neighbor who has not donethe dvd before, either.  Today also must go to grocery.  Finish up cleaning and laundry and get ready for the week.  Having dinner with my parents most likely later, but they want to go to place that has the good salmon and healthy choices!

OK did Turbo Jam for 30 minutes some light weights and about 40 minutes of strenuous yard work.  Nice workout - planning to walk dogs later today, too.

S/L:  Carbmaster yougurt, 1/2 C cottage cheese, 1 mango 260

Going to dinner with parents - Yummy - just full enough now that I won't overeat. 

D:  One Onion Ring, Small piece of salmon, green beans, little rice, couple of carrots, 400

S:  Sm Smoothie 225

1285 Calories     Turbo Jam for 30 minutes, Light Weights, 40 minutes of hard yard work

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

Yesterday sounded like a good day to me! The way I look at things, if I can accomplish one thing, no matter how small it may appear (even if it's just getting the laundry done) the day was not wasted. That's great that your neighbor is interested in your turbo jam. Having some support/interest that close (but not under your roof) is awesome! Enjoy your dinner!

I wish I had a neighbour to exercise with. That would be cool !! My nextdoor neighbour is nearly 20 years younger than me and weighs about 120lbs so I don't think she would be interested !! Sounds like you got plenty of exercise in to me Holly :-)

Hm...thats what Im thinking. The closer I reach my goal, the slower it takes so i just gotta figure out....I think ill probably do more weight training since I don't do enough of that. OH and I see you do Turbo Jam...I was thinking of getting it. Like it?

Hiya Holly,it was a good washing day here yest,emptied the basket.Another reason i should stick to this healthy eating plan our neighbour is getting married next year and hubby and i are invited.It will give me an excuse to buy a nice dress,and look good in it(but i don't want to outdo the bride!!!)Look at you with your turbo jam,i tend to own those dvd's and sit down and watch them,not what it says in the instructions is it!!Have a good day :)

I didn't keep track of calories totally yesterday because recovering from the fast day on Wednesday.  I didn't over eat, though.  I'd say I only ate about 1200 calories all day. 

So far today:

B:  Peanut butter things my daughter made.  Good and mostly healthy kind of granola bars  about 250 calories, coffee  75=325

L:  Smoothie and very small bite of granola thing  425

Progress as of today: 12.4 lbs lost so far, only 15.6 lbs to go!

Hey Holly the lady with the rather horrid hat was Princess Beatrice. She is the daughter of Prince Andrew and sarah Ferguson. I'm not very keen on that branch of the family. The hat was an abomination, wasn't it? I agree about David Beckham, he looked lovely and it helps that he is quite a looker too hehe !! I thought Katherine's sister, who was her maid of honour looked absolutely stunning too :-)

Hiya Holly,Yes the driveway is getting flagged,dad is driving me mad too.Seems to do what he wants with the job like, buying heavy duty flags so they are thicker(all the front is flagged)and i turn the car around and where he's done, the surface is now higher than the other bit.He can fix it or he dont get paid, simple as.I can't see beyond the mess,so he better work a miracle.Good job on the cals yest, and sooo glad your test results where nothing too severe.Keep it up,Jules

lol its funny about the fazoelis (i think i spelled that wrong..) BUT when I was in denver for a month one day i was so hungry i saw that deal and was like "yum...yep, sounds good to me!!!"
