Day 105  Yesterday was OK on calories, but I didn't walk or exercise.  Was a little tired and bummed out.  Slept fairly well and got up this a.m. and walked 2.5 miles - going to try to do 2.5 more tonight.

So far today:

B:  Smoothie  350 (Large)

L:  Homemade vegetable gr beef soup and cornbread 450

D:  Spaghetti and meat sauce (YUM) 350

I know I ate something else, but can't remember what it was at the moment.  I stayed within the calorie range, though.

Progress as of today: 9.8 lbs lost so far, only 18.2 lbs to go!

Day 104 - I didn't update Saturday's or post Sunday, but I did good.  I didn't walk on Saturday - very tired - rested.  I ate well and did do some sit ups.  Yesterday I walked 2.5 miles and are well.  I will begin posting menus again. I may be missing in action for a few days only - remember how I said we aren't in control  of  everything that happens, but we can control out choices?  I had a "suspicious" mole removed a week or so ago and it is cancer.  95% cure rate, though, but I have to have surgery on Wednesday.  Everybody - wear your sun screen.  This is on my chest and I used to get SO tan there.  Back in the day before we knew not to do that! 

B:  Smoothie (large)  350

 L:  Bowl of soup/cornbread 300

S:  Pretzel bites 110

D:  Bagel and LF Cream Cheese.grapefruit 450

S:  1 C 1% milk with Ovaltine  150

Day 102  I walked 6.5 miles yesterday - two walks!  I stayed within calorie range too!  Ha-ha - good for me.  Stress is high right now - so I need to exercise.  Daughter has "issues" right now and work is a lot of pressure.  I can't control those things, but I can control what I eat and I can take care of myself.  It is so easy when life gets stressful to just give up and give in to unhealthy habits.  But that is not what God wants us to do.  He wants us to take care of ourselves and lean on him not on our own understanding of things. I have promised to honor Him with my choices and that must include the choices I make about my health.  Just a little bit at a time.

B:  Healthy mac and cheese, Tea 150

Love your entry, you are exactly right about not being able to control all things in our lives, but we ARE able to make healthy choices no matter what. Awesome job walking 6.5 miles and doing well with your calories.....have a wonderful weekend! I'm sure you'll be changing that number at the top of your entries once you have your official weigh in because you are doing so well!

Day 101 - I did OK yesterday on eating.  I did 20 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer (Intervals - Level 9 - in case you are wondering)  It was a work out.   I didn't eat anything else after I posted yesterday.  I have already walked 2.5 miles today - at 6:00 this a.m. with my friend.  I am going to either do ET or walk again tonight.  I did my 40 sit ups this morning, too.  I weighed again this morning - very unusual for me and the 166.8 was holding.  Still not going to change it on here.  I won't weight for another week.  It makes me crazy to weigh.

So far today:

B:  Smoothie, Tea and Fiber One Bar 415

Lunch at the home-cooking restaurant with my friend.  I plan to have vegetables!

L:  Fried green tomatos w ketchup, corn, kale I resisted the corn sticks today!!  400

D:  Pork chop, cottage cheese and fruit  350

Walked 4 MORE miles with daughter tonight!! 

Calories 1165 Exercise 6+ miles walking!!!!

wow, level 9!! thats awesome! When I do an hour on my I do intervals between levels 4-7 and try to stay in a range of 50-60 rpms. It goes by quick on most days, especially if I am watching recorded tv shows. I love to exercise while catching up on my shows...I feel less guilty about watching so much tv that way, lol.

Yay on the lower weight and good for you on not getting obsessed about it. Its no fun to let a number determine your mood for the day!

over 100!! GREAT. :D Thanks for your comment, I was making a funny remark about my hair, yes. :-) I'd like to do the 15min exercises to straighten my back, but first I want to get rid of the sore throat completely. I love the Laughing Cow cheese. Especially the "low cholesterol" version.

Day 100!  I weighed today and scales said 166.8.  I will wait to make sure it is consistent before updating progress bar.  I didn't keep track of cals last night so I can't update the post from yesterday, but I did fine.  I didn't exercise at all - I needed to rest and that's OK.  I am raring to go today.  Did 40  situps yesterday and today. 

B:  bisbuit and tea 250

L;  On the road - Arbys roast beef sand = 350

D:  1/2 chicken quesdilla, cookie 600

Going to go do elliptical trainer for 20 minutes and then walk 2 miles!

Day 99 - Yesterday was OK 1400 cal range and 4 miles walking and 40 sit-ups!  YAY for me.  I am a little tired today - I have walked 16 miles in 4 consecutive days.  So I may not walk tonight, or may walk only 2 miles - or may just do a few minutes on elliptical trainer - I have my church ladies group until 7:00 so it will be late when I get home.  I will see how I feel.  It is part of taking care of myself.  I am not procrastinating or avoiding exercise, I am truly a little bodily weary.  I am not sore, though.  Something tells me I will at least walk 2 miles or do ET or something because it IS definitely making me stronger and have a clearer head, feel better in general, etc.  (Just like I KNEW it would!)

Today so far:

B:  Tea, (Jamba Juice made at home) Smoothie  250

just walking a bit would be great or resting - maybe a gentle yoga class or stretching- its so great to let the body take a rest, but i know how you feel once you are "on a roll"- have a wonderful day!!

My walk was very tiresome and my legs were hurting,,,,,but I did it! (thanks for asking) and yes, I will try to do it, about 2 or 3 times a week for starters. I believe the more I walk, the easier it will get. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week.

Day 98  Almost 100 days!!  Good day yesterday!  kept calories very much in line and walked 4 miles with friend last night.  It felt so good we are going to do it again tonight.

 B:  6 crackers and pnb, Tea 250

L:  Soothie with fruit and yogurt  250 pretzel nuggets 200, snack bar 100 = 550

S:  Skinny Cow ice cream cone 150

D:  Corned beef sandwich  300

S:  Raspberries and van yogurt  230

Total Cals 1480  Exercise 4 miles walking/ 40 sit ups

For years, I've been using my power scooter to get my mail every day. ( my mail box is quite a distance from my apartment ) I just couldn't get up the courage to walk that far. Not lazy,,,afraid of the pain. A few days ago,,, I DID IT! You are so blessed to be able to walk 4 MILES!...You all,,are my inspiration. Keep up the good works.

Day 97  This weekend was busy but eating was "OK".  I overate a bit on Saturday - probably around 2600 calories and on Sunday was probably around 1800, but not that bad.  PLUS - I walked 8 miles on Sat and Sunday (4 miles per day).  Saturday I walked the 4 miles all together.  On Sunday I was short for time so I broke it up into two 2 mile walks.  Ta-Da!  Did my sit ups each day, too.  I'm gearing iup for a good week!

THOUGHT for the day:  Life can be so difficult sometimes we hardly get what we want anywhere.  So much is out of our control.  Is it any wonder we are "uncomfortable" with achieving what we really want?  It's a forgein feeling - not to mention sometimes a long process.  THEORY for the day: if we work on feeling comfortable with our success along the way it won't feel so forgein when we get there and it will last.  (Maybe?)

B:  Tea, Banana 100

L:  1/2 turkey sandwich with lett, tom and mayo, 10 grapes, 8 vinegar and salt p. chips   265

S:  Snack Bar 100

Subtotal for the day 465

We are having company for supper tonight.....

D:  Corned Beef, carrots, potato crowns, 2 bite sized homemade choc chip muffins (resisted ice cream)  450

Calories 1015  Exercise 4 miles walk!!!!!

Day 94  Yesterday was a good day - exercise in the morning is working out for me.  Was going to do INSANITY test again with a friend, but she bailed on me.  That's OK I was kind of tired.  I didn't get up in time to walk this morning.  I think the added exercise is catching up with me.  That's OK, though.  It's supposed to.  I am planning ET or walk tonight and tomorrow walk with friend or bike ride with her - depends on if we can get air in our tires before then.

So far today:

B:  Tea, 4 crackers and 1 T PNB 160

L:  6 crackers, chick salad, snack bar and yogurt  596

Your plan for exercise sounds fun. I went bike riding a few weeks ago for the first time in 10 years and loved it. Great workout and FUN!!

I love this Flat Belly Diet I am on. I dont think it will literally flatten my tummy, but the menu they make you follow for 28 days is awesome. I plan on using alot of the meals after the 28 days are up. If you are bored with your foods or want to improve your cholesterol levels (increase the good stuff AND lower the bad stuff simultaneously) then I recommend this diet!

Day 93 (I think) - Yesterday was kind of odd - started off with the walk in the a.m., but had a run-in with some Hot Cross Buns in the evening!  See yesterdays post with the details.  Could have been worse. 

Started today with a 2 mile walk with dog (Elle) and 30 sit-ups/8 push ups.  Tonight am supposed to do INSANITY with a friend who wants to try to do it, too.  That (believe me) is what I am doing with that dvd - "trying to do it".  But even at that - it's a workout and a challenge is good.

So ar today:

B:  Tea and Hot Cross Bun (that's the last of them!!), apple  160

L:  Favorite Restaurant - home cooking - Fried Green Tomatos, kale and 1/2 baked potato with butter and Sour Cream - 600 

S:  Pretzel nuggets  75

S:  2 pecan date rolls w a dab of pnb  250 (Yikes - didn't realize so many calories 

D:  1/2 baked potato with butter and cottage cheese 300

  Total Calories - 1385  Exercise:  2 mile walk (35 minutes)

Oh my gosh, hot cross buns!! I love anything bready, especially straight from the bakery. My weaknesses include pastries and loaves of seven grain Italian bread. I could easily eat that Italian bread and seasoned dipping oil for dinner. hahaha

Anyway, glad you had a good start to the day, especially with push-ups. You are gonna get some amazing arm and core strength if you continue with those! :)
