Day 92!  Well, I'm doing better on exercise, at last!!!  I was beginning to wonder for awhile.

Yesterday I did 20 minutes on Elliptical Trainer (a.m.) and 40 minutes INSANITY dvd (p.m.)  The INSANITY dvd is just that - INSAME!  My d bought it and I just did the Fitness Test (so that you have a baseline and can mark improvements) - the fitness test is ENOUGH  of a workout for me!  Now - I cannot do some of the exercises because of frozen toes (both great toes are arthritic and basically frozen) but I managed to do SOMETHING the whole time.  I just did the best I could and kept moving.  My theory is I'll improve. 

Then this a.m. I went for 2 mile (30 minute) walk with d before the sun got up!!!

Had a business meeting this morning with breakfast

B:  coffee, 2 pieces of bacon and one egg  260

L:  Arbys RB sandwich (no other choice really) NO FRIES, though.....diet coke  375

S:  5 Ranch pretzel nuggets 35 / 1 fibre One Bar 140

Subtotal 810  I'll be careful tonight.

D:  I wasn't careful last night - I ate "wierd".  Ladies church group.  Stopped off at specialty grocery due to traffic jam caused by a wreck so I thought I'd pick up a few thiings while traffic cleared.  It was 7:00 and I was hungry!  Instead of munching on an apple or something I ate 2 cookies and I picked up some HOT CROSS BUNS (just couldn't resist)  So that's what I had for dinner - the cookies and hot cross buns - wound up eating 4 - at least they were small!  and a small chicken breast left over because I HAD to have protien So 800 calories for dinner. 

Ended the day with 1610 not bad, but not the right kind of calories over all!  Exercise was walking in the a.m. 2 miles (fast).

I love my short morning walks (5am) with my dog - so quiet, cool, and peaceful. Good job on all the exercise!

Day 91!  Yesterday was OK - no exercise, but I got this morning and did 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer.  I will do more tonight so I get it all evened out.

L:  Small portion spaghetti and meatballs, whole grapefruit 400

Apple for snack this afternoon - YUM!

S:  Apple 60

D:  1/2 pbj sandwich/1/2 turkey sandwich, healthy chips 500

Total 1135 Exercise ET = 20 minutes/40 minutes INSANITY workout (see more no this on Wednesday's diary!!!)

Yay for ellipticals! How long have you had yours? Do you like it? I got mine in March and love it! I use it five days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each time. It is my favorite form of cardio - easy on the knees but very effective on the heart!!

Me again!!Just had to pop out and go and change a new computer mouse only bought it yesterday.Treated myself to a new laptop and i cant be doing with the one on the lappy not used to it i suppose.As for the darling daughter i try and just switch off,mainly by keeping my headphones in and play my music hoping she will get the message.I will catch up tomorrow,hopefully day 1 would of gone well,have a great day,Jules

Day 90 Well I didn't post all weekend.  Busy weekend with Easter and family stuff going on.  I did not keep eating "reasonable".  Saturday was OK, but basically I ate what ever I wanted on Sunday all day and all night.  Oh well, that's water under the bridge and I can just get back on track beginning today.  I did exercies all weekend, though.  Walks on Friday, Sat and Sun!  So that's something.  And I did enjoy myself.......

Today so far:

B:  Tea, Banana 100

L:  1/2 turkey sandwich wtih lettuce and tiny bit mayo, wheat bread, 1/2 grapefruit and 1 apple 255  Good lunch - I'm full and I enjoyed healthy food 

S:  Popcorn 200

D:  Toast and Honey, granola bar, No too hungry in the evening.    400

Total Calories 955 - I think I was still running on the calories from Sunday!!

Exercise - none - feeling tired

Day 87!  Yesterday was good.  I managed to eat low again.  I think it was very low the last couple of days and when I went to the store this morning I didn't resist a donut, but it was only one - cake with very little icing and peanuts on it - that's it.

So far today:

B;  Tea, Donut  200

L:  OK today is Endulge in Junk Day!  Lunch was fries and diet coke - dinner must be healthy and it will be along with a long walk!!!!   347

Day 86!  Yesterday was OK.  I managed to stay low on calories and walk over an hour!

L:  Very small Spaghetti and meatball(1) 150 (?) 

D:  Grilled hamburger WW bun, baked beans, skinny cow IC sandwich 620

Total Cals 1050  Exercise:  hour walk - FAST - even RAN some!!  Oh yeah!

Day 85  Yesterday was ok - no exercise.  I must MOVE IT MOVE IT!!

Was so good to have daughter back home!  She looked ok and seemed to have had a good time.  She wanted to go out and get a bite to eat, although I'd had dinner already I went with her and I didn't eat again.  We watched DWTS at the restaurant.  They brought us the sound box and we were able to see daughter's coach on there.  It was such a moving tribute to the earthquake victims in Haiti (he's Hatian, btw) and his young son (who lost his life in the quake)  so sad, but such faith and hope this man has for the future in the face of such adversity.  Makes my faith  seem so small and weak.  God bless them all.

So far today:

B:  Tea

L:  Left over spaghetti and meatballs  200

I have discovered something about my eating habits.  It was under the surface and just popped out today at lunch.  I eat many times AFTER I am full simply because I still have food on my plate and it's "not enough to save" so I finish it.  Today I quit and saved the little bit left.  I was fine.  I am going to try the following in the future:   1)  take a smaller portion so that I'm not tempted to eat more - and see if I'm satisfied with that,  2) stop when I have eaten that smaller portion - they say your brain doesn't know you're full until 10 minutes after you've eaten so I'll eat slower.  Sounds like a good idea.  I'll keep you posted on results!!  God bless.

820 cals  - can't believe it was so low.  Exercise was 1 hour and 20 min walking!  Two separate walks!!

i love that you had the insight to make this realization about your own eating habits. sometimes it is very difficult to see outside ourselves but every now and then there are those break-through windows...PS- thanks for the eating compliment! I wish that it showed on my butt and thighs;) time will tell, i suppose.

Hey! Thanks for the comment =) I have the same issue with my eating as well and tend to finish my plate if there's only a little left after I'm full. Good idea about eating slower, another tip might be to sip some water once you've finished your smaller portion and that will probably take up the 10 minutes and then you'll know if you're still hungry or not when you're done. As for the diaper cake, I kinda came up with my own spin on it and improvised with what I had. Here is the website I used to kinda give me the general idea, but I didn't really like the look of theirs with the diapers showing because the ones I had on hand had blue on them and my sister-in-law is having a girl so I didn't want any blue showing...so I came up with the idea to use bassinet sheets ((I wrapped each layer in a different one)). The site also says to use wooden dowels to hold the layers together, but I placed a bottle in the middle of my bottom layer, and that held the middle layer on...so the top layer is seperate and can unstack from the cake, but it won't be messed with at the shower so I figured it will hold up just fine =)....http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Diaper-Cake....hope that helps! =) The site also shows you links at the bottom on how to make different things like diaper wreathes...they look really cool!

Day 85  Yesterday was a good day with 1000 calories.  I didn't exercise - it got too late and I got too tired.  I brought my shoes and clothes to walk at lunch today.  I will eat a quick bite and walk outside for 30 minutes as it will be pretty!

For all you Dancing with the Stars Fans - tonight one of my daughter's dance coaches is supposed to be on DWTS - in a recorded spot between contestants.  His name is Emmanuel Pierre Antoine and his partner is Liana Churilova - they are fabulous.  Daughter said they recorded it in NYC this past week and there is a "slight" chance she "might" be in the background dancing when they shot it.  She comes home tonight - can't wait to see her - she's been gone a week! 

So Far today:

B:  Tea, 4 crackers, pnb  175

L:  4 more crackers and pnb, grapefruit, 235

S:  Banana pudding - it's another birthday at work 400

D:  spaghetti and meatballs - homemade - small portion  400

S: 2 pieces of toast with butter and jam 300

Total 1630  calories No exercise

Day 84  I did "OK" this weekend in that I didn't overeat.  I just had realistic meals, but I didn't count the calories.  I will be back to counting this week and next weekend.  I did exercise 30 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer yesterday and Saturday I cleaned floors and lots of physical housework!  Friday I walked 2 miles.  So activity was pretty high. 

So far today:

B:  Tea, 4 Crackers and pnb = 175

L:  4 Crackers and pnb, banana, grapefruit 335

S:  Nuts 250

D:  Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, asparagus 350

S:  Granola Bar 140

1,000 Even Calories

Exercise - None

Great job with weekend activity! I do the same thing on the weekend and just eat sensibly without counting. It's nice to take a small break from it once in awhile and just enjoy making good choices without worrying about the number. Have a nice day =)

Day 80 - OK on day 90 - 10 days from now I will not be saying "I wish I was doing better"  I will be saying "I am doing better".  Period

B:  Oatmeal, Tea, pecans, 1/2 banana and br sug splenda 300

Can't remember all I ate - it isn't that it was so much, but that I didn't keep track.  I ate some crackers and chicken salad.  I RESISTED a lot of EASTER CANDY at the drug store and EASTER COOKIES at the grocery.  It was my turn to make Birthday dessert for a co-worker and she likes choc pie.  I made one choc and two cocoanut pies last night.  I licked the spoons and will have one piece of cocoanut tomorrow. 

University of KY basketball this weekend.  Hope to have frieinds over.

yeah, lot of cr*p in the stores for Easter... and then, Easter hams and stuff at the meat stores... AAARGH, very dangerous. At this point (I'm at the 3rd month of the diet) I don't crave for chocolate anymore. I'm not touched by the looks anyway.

Oh, you cooker you..... We are so much alike in enjoying baking/cooking...Hard to resist, but o.k. to sample in moderation is something to not feel guilty about...Have to plan a life of health in reality of having some "goodies" occasionally....
