Day 49!  Almost 50 days!  Only One week until my vacation in SC and my business trip in D.C.  I am going to start mentally preparing for both.  My goal is to eat really, really well until then and then to eat sensibly while on vacation and in D.C. 

This weekend - I was ot on line at all.  I didn't keep track of food, but I did OK.  I also walked 3+ miles yesterday.  Our weather was wonderful - 50 degrees!  Couldn't believe it.  It's raining today, and cooler, but not brutally cold at this point.  Yesterday I logged over 10,000 steps on my pedometer.  I am feeling much better.

So far today: 

B:  Smoothie, Tea  235

L:  5 crackers 130, one laughing cow light cheese 35, 1 C potato soup (homemade - yum, yum great recipe and low fat is not low cal)  250 (?)  Turkey 45, mayo 75, orange 60 =  595  - I'll have to watch it at dinner tonight! 

Having dinner with the speaker group for the big program tomorrow.  A very nice restaurant.  I am going to see if I can cut out early, but it's going to be hard since I'm on the board.   

D:  Small steak medallion, salad with too much dressing - I tried to scrap much of it off, 2 jumbo shrimp, one bite of cheese and one little appetizer thingy - not sure what it was to tell you the truth 1/2 roll w butter, single serving of cheese cake  coffee with cream - took more home than I ate, but I was full and it was really wonderful food.  I estimate 750 caloriesl  

So 1580 for the day -  No so bad considering.  I kind of wish I didn't have the cheese cake.  No exercise, but I'll make up for it tomorrow.  I will walk my legs off at the conference.

You'll do great at the dinner tomorrow, I just have faith in you, that you'll handle it well. I also like the way you're preparing yourself for your trip. Your walking will definitely, show up on your scales. Keep up the GREAT job.. Take Care......Nita

50 days, wow! I stopped counting. I know I started on the 14th January. I go to Hungary next week and I want to keep tracking my foods. Especially in these occasions people tend to let themselves go far beyond limits.

Day 46 - FINALLY starting to feel better.  Sun shining and snow melting - may get to walk tonight.  We'll see.  Church at 7:00.

S: 2 crackers a dab of PB - 65

L:  Singpore Streeet Noodles 300

Subtotal 590 MUCH better mid-day total!!  It feels good to be at this total at this time of day.

Yea, i think i like the 'black and white' of drinking that shake and thats it. You know exactly how many cals you had, etc. And it's tasty! Yum. I never get the chocolate, i dont like how they taste, the vanillas are always better. have an awesome weekend!

Day 45!  2 more weeks and I'll be on vacation so I want to do really well so I can splurge a little during my trips.  Charleston 3/2-6 and DC 3/7-10.

Still feeling low and tired and stuffy nose, etc.

Good news.  I have been counting my smoothies as a few too many calories.  I measured everything today and they are actually around 235 each - so I'll round up a bit and say 250 from now on.

B:  Smoothie, Tea,   250 

L:  McDonald's Mac Snack Wrap - NO CHEESE 225

S:  Snack Bar 100 + nuts 100  =  200

D:  1/2 fish, potato crowns, catsup 325

S:  Skinny Cow 140

S:  Snack bar 100

Total  1240 calories

No exercise

Day 44.  Yesterday was OK went over a little on cals and no exercise as I am stil not 100% (or even 90% for that matter!)

Today so far:

B:  Smoothie and turkey  350

S:  Snack bar 100

L:  Spaghetti, 1/2 PBJ  570

Subtotal  1020 - how did that happen!!!

S:  Orange 60

D:  Toast with butter and jam, cereal and 1/2 banana, nuts  450

1530  Not too bad.  No exercise - early to bed again still feeling bad and not rested at all.  HELP!

Ok hollybelle, time to get back on the exercise wagon! A little at a time is a great way to begin again. Just do some walking, that's all it takes! Go for it today!

calories are easy to consume but in the beginning part of your day you only have one meal and maybe a snack left so i think the cals arent that bad at all!

Day 43!  YAY!  almost 45 days!  Yesterday was OK.  See updated version on diary. 1450 cals.  Still feel bad - so no exercise.

So far today:

B:  1 piece of toasted homemade bread, butter and honey, 1 shake  400

L:  Soup to go 70, crackers 140, mayo 80, turkey 60, pb 40, orange 60 =530

S:  orange 60

D:  Chick Pot Pie (homemade) 600

S:  Snack Bar/Cookie 250

Total Cals: 1780   Oops - went over, but not by much.

Exercise - Stretching

Hollybelle, I actually break my one a days in half. I take one after my morning snack and the other half at lunch time. I also take an iron pill sometime durring the day and so far so good.

Day 42!  Didn't post menus for days 40 and 41, but I did OK - didn't count, but not anything to get distressed about I'd say I ate about 1800 calories on day 40 (due to some choc chip cookies I, myaself, made and didn't give away as promptly as I hoped!!) and about 1300 on day 41.  I just didn't feel all that well and didn't stress about it.  Ate a little extra - one day - big deal!

Today so far - we have LOTS and LOTS of snow.  It has quit for now but supposed to start again late this afternoon and have up to 8 more inches on the ground tonight.  We already had about 3-4 inches on the ground.  I wish it was the weekend.  SPRING - hurry up!

B:  Smoothie, Tea 250

Brought food for lunch - 1/2 Turkey sandwich w/lettuce and vegetable soup - almost the last of it - still one 2 pt container in the freezer!

Spagetti for dinner - low fat meat.  

UPDATE:

L:  8 crackers, Naturally More PB, 1 slice bread, mayo, turkey, lettuce, BIG bowl of Soup 600

D:  Med bowl of spaghetti and meat sauce  500

S:  Skinny Cow IC Sandwich 100

Total Cals  1450  No exercise - early to bed - still ill!!

Well done, it looks like you're doing really well :D I keep wanting Spring to hurry up as well - it's so much easier to exercise and eat well when you're not constantly cold!

Day 40!  Yesterday was OK.  1650 total cals.  Feeling better, but gosh I'm tired.  Head much better.  Hopefully these last drugs will nip the virus in the bud!  Several more people at work are ill, too.

Hey people, if you haven't tried the Yoplait Fruit Smoothies, check them out.  They come in frozen pouch.  In Walmart where the frozen fruit is.  You only add 1 C (or a little more skim milk and blend).  Delicious.  Pkg says makes 2, but they are two small ones.  110 cals each-prepared.  But I put an extra bananna and a 1/4-1/2 C Light Vanilla Yogurt in and little extra milk and a scoop of protein powder make two big ones for me and husband.  Even if that adds an extra 100-150 cals per serving its a great deal.

B:  Fruit Smoothie 300

Taking big doggie to the vet for his ears.  Anybody had any luck with chronic ear infections with long eared dogs?  Our Lab - Smokey has the hardest time with his.  We try to keep him out of the water (in the summer that's harder than the winter).

Did 20 minutes of the stretching video this morning.  It's a good video.  I haven't received my Jillian Michaels set of DVDs yet.  Couldn't have done them this week, anyway - on to bigger and better things next week. 

I'm off to work on catching up house work.  I'm so far behind.

Hey there! Sounds like you've been through the ringer with being ill--hope you're getting to feeling much better!

Those smoothies sound great! Will have to look for them! Hope you are enjoying your weekend, you are doing awesome! I'm glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about your dog's ears....one of my dogs has the same problem once in awhile. Fortunately, the over the counter drops that you just massage in the ear seem to work. Hope Smokey feels better! Have a great day =)

Day 39 !  Yesterday was better 1445 calorie total.  No exercise of course.  I feel bad still, but at least like I'm moving in the right direction.

I weighed this morning and I was at 166.8 so despite the steriod drug I am taking and an overall bloated feeling I must be doing some good or at least holding own.  I won't post new weight on tracker until it's holding steady for a week or two.

B:  Toast, butter and jam, 1/2 C 1% milk, tea 250 

McWoo - Where are you???  Miss you!

S:  Slim Fast Snack Bar 100

L:  House salad, dressing, 1/2 club sandwich no cheese/dressing - 600

D:  Chinese - Singapore Street Noodles YUMMY!  ate about 1/3 or less - rest for lunch today!!  400

S:  Yoplait Fruit Smoothie 300

Total Cals 1650 No exercise

Day 38 - No post yesterday stayed home in bed.  Feeling some better and on somewhat reduced schedule at work today.  Yesterday was a disaster.  Kept trying to eat to make self feel better.  Didn't work!  Oh, well, have done so well until now.  Will get back on track today, but not going to be too hard on myself until back up to snuff.    Didn't count yesterday, but I'd say 2500 or so calories.  So far today:

B:  Granola Bar, 1/2 C 1% Milk, Tea 280

Because ate so much yesterday I'm not really that hungry today. 

L:  Gee - To "not be very hungry" I sure ate a lot for lunch, crackers, soup, cheese, peanut butter 715

D:  Roast Beef and Mashed Potatoes  350

S:  Nuts:  100

Total 1445 Not too bad - early to bed.......:o)

Day 36 is pretty rough.  Still sick.  Thanks for all the good advice.  I wish I could take it - wish I could stay home in bed.  But can't.  Started taking the meds last night, hopefully those will kick in and I'll be better soon.  I am resting as soon as I get home and plan to leave early today.  We got more snow and ice last night.  About 3 inches, I'd say.  It's a heavy wet snow and when it gets colder later today it will be a mess.

As far as eating.  I am eating healthy - no junk and I know I've been within the range I set for myself - with the exception of Sunday when I probably had about 1800 cals.  I just don't feel like writing it all down right now but I'm staying in reason.
