Setting myself up for failure...please everyone this is NOT what to do.

B: bagel with cream cheese

L: left over pot pie (I swear every pea in the entire dish was in my lunch portion), banana

Some genius brought donuts for the college scholar's last day...I not only ate one but two! And then they asked if I wanted pizza for lunch, happily I said no, that I had my left over pea pie...score one for me.

D: I don't even know yet - I was thinking of bacon and eggs.

I also wanted to make a carrot/cheese cake for my birthday, the girl said she would help. The cheese cake potion needs to be made a day prior.

After Satuday...I will get back on track and do some things for myself...eat right, exercise, move.

I signed DH, the girl and I up for a covered bridge tour in October, this should be very nice with the leaves changing. Can't wait.

Saw a commerical for Starkist chicken...this I would like to try.

Have a great day! IP

I LOVE the starkest tuna pks...they have lots of flavors of the tuna...and it looks like it will be the same with the chicken.....you don't even have to drain it....too easy!

horn_of_plenty on 07/26/2018:
hey there :) don't be too hard on yourself :) it's ok to have treats here and there! you are still doing good and wow you are so skilled making cheese cake some people are gonna be so happy when it's done i'll tell you that!

covered bridge tour sounds awesome...i am so busy right now i can't wait to NOT have plans....i think i'll be very happy with a couple low key weekends again at the beginning of august as this one will be nice and fiery :) fiery meaning with plans!

maybe once it's Mid-September i'll sorta be up to thinking about fall! you are wayyyy ahead of me. it actually gets me anxious to plan anything more these days (except booking a flight to Fort Lauderdale for January...i'd be so happy to do that and have it DONE come the weekend!)

We had Chipolte last night, I think I am over this little fad! It did nothing for me.

DH cut up a watermelon and it was good. I wish watermelon like me, as much as I like it. Something with both watermelon and cucumbers...i usually taste them for hours, days after eating them. So I have to limit these foods.

I received a random text from a girl named Sarah, I don't know her, but she is adament I come back to the gym. I laughed, but with DH going back to nights, this may be a possibility.

Walked a little last night.

DH bought two rotisserie chickens so I will try to find something to do with one of them tonight for dinner.

B: toast - I burned the toast and made some more. I swear it tasted like skunk smells.

L: pbj, watermelon

S: cheezits

D: TBD

We got the girl's military ID card (HOP this just lets her go into facilities on the army or airforce base - swimming pool, commissary, PX, movie theater etc. without an adult). The clerk wanted her signature and the girl just printed her name, so the clerk tore up the application and asked the gril, 'you can't sign your name in cursive?" the girl replies, "I can sign my first name, but not my last name." The clerk rips up the card, prints another and write "CHILD" across the signature part. This kinda upset the girl, so I was showing her how to sign her last name in cursive too. She was easily frustrated and gave up easily. I told her to keep trying she would eventually get it. I just don't understand why they quit teaching this in school. I remember learning in 3rd grade and having to go home and write pages and pages of the same letter in cursive. The girl kept trying, but she quit doing it about the time she went home. I doubt she will practice at her mom's house. She will understand the importance of it, whenever she needs to read something in cursive and can't. Oh well.

Not much on the agenda today. Have a great night! IP

that is SO BAD that they didn't teach kids to write their signature...that's SO BAD. you need that signature for EVERYTHING. maybe you can tell the girl how important it is...that just is not good, she needs a signature.

BearCountryGG on 07/25/2018:
Unbelievable.....no cursive......I phones and computers have taken over...that is just plain scary to me.

DH made a great dish with keilbasa, shrimp, squash, zucchini and asparagus. It had a nice taste but the mushiness of the squash and zucchini when cooked does nothing for my mouth. It's a texture thing. Maybe steaming will help.

Stuff to do at work, just really not wanting to do it.

The girl is over tonight, DH is taking her to a CD craft at the library.

Chipotle for dinner tonight, that's what they want.

Girl is going for the braces, she has her first appoint in August, she may have them on by September, I was hoping before school, but that isn't going to happen.

Walked last night in between the rain, it was nice and steamy.

Have a great night!

The Kielbasa/shrimp dish sounds like New Orleans!!!! We went the braces route with our youngest son.....he even had to have a jaw stretcher...which we cranked up with a key...I hope they have stopped that kind of torture...you will find hundreds of teeny tiny rubber bands all over the place......but the result will make it all worth it.

horn_of_plenty on 07/24/2018:
yes that dish sounds GREAT...maybe overcooked...either way sounds awesome. maybe add the squash in later towrads the end??

chipotle sounds so yummy too!

yeah, would have been good to get braces on before school, they hurt for the first week!

happy-1 on 07/24/2018:
Hugs. Good for you for supporting her getting braces. I wish I had had them.

Thursday was my 4th anniversary. I get home and expected to see the yard mowed but it wasn't. This aggravated me because it was supposed to rain all weekend. We also had a play scheduled "Little Women" but I decided to stay home and do yard work. DH of course helped and apologized. He shouldn't tell me he will do it and then doesn't...this ruins plans.

Friday the girl and I go to see a play of "Romeo and Juliet" it was very hard to watch and she didn't understand, but wanted to stay because she has to read it in school. I was proud of her. It was brutal...honestly. She went home at 6:00.

DH worked all weekend and then they tell him starting on 7/30 that he will be going to 8 hour midnight shifts. OMG I hate this. This is the exact thing he was doing when he left his last job. He told me it would eventually happen, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. This messes with my family dynamics. Both Saturday and Sunday it did rain off and on and I just sat around the house, besides doing basic chores, I couldn't muster enough motivation to accomplish anything else. I feel my depression creeping back in and I hate this place. It was extremely hard to get past the last time and I just don't want to sink so low where it effects everyone around me. I will have to call my PCP and get another prescription before it gets too bad.

Last night DH was snoring so loud I had to get up and sleep in the spare bedroom.

I need to get back with the program, because doing nothing and eating what I want, just isn't helping anything at all. I cannot count how many times I been here. Saturday is my birthday and it's sad to know I didn't stick to anything the last year to make a difference.

I just can't even right now....

The sun is shining though and I will make the best of this day. Have a good one! IP

Has your husband been tested for sleep apnea? If he's snoring that loudly, it might be time to consider a CPAP machine. BTDT...

I'm so sorry to hear about midnights. I just recently realized how hard that was, to have a spouse who works the night shift. It's really tough. I feel your pain.

innerpeace on 07/24/2018:
He probably does. He won't go to the sleep test that the doctor ordered. He usually don't snore that loud, that long. He said he was just tired. We will see.

I have been reading posts, however, it is sometimes hard to reply if I can't say anything supportive or helpful.

Friday night we went to the Indians' game and stayed for the fireworks after, sensational. I wish I had just the money they spent on fireworks alone. We had dollar hotdogs for dinner, which were really ok.

Saturday we were supposed to go on a scavenger hunt, but the weather prevented this. The girl wanted her eyebrows threaded and then we went to lunch at a deli. DH got pizza for dinner. Needless to say I haven't been eating the best.

Sunday we used the Cheesecake Factory gift cards and spent $84 dollars. The food was ok, I had a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich with a side salad and of course I didn't pass up the cheesecake.

Monday, I stayed home with the girl and we ran a few errands. I cooked a cauliflower casserole with chicken, it turned out pretty good.

Tuesday, DH left work early and we went downtown to get the girl a military ID card. We had to go for the girl's Christmas present. She had tickets to the Taylor Swift concert. We stopped and ate at the Winking LIzard prior to the concert. We had pretty good seats and was in the sun for an hour or two. It was very, very loud and it took me over an hour for my head to quit buzzing when I got home. So I only had about 4 hours sleep before I had to get up for work.

As usual...work is crap! And the other workers....SUCK! It is hard to be helpful when someone who makes over $130K wants reimbursed for $26.99 because she took the government car to a detailer to be vacuumed instead of doing it herself.  Seriously though...I don't even know the steps to take to get this done. I had to call several people...and still don't know. I will look a few more places and if still no luck, I think old girl will have to eat her $26.99. And I have ants on my desk....now I feel them crawling all over me, whether they are or aren't.

DH took the girl to her orthodontists appointment today and I guess we are going down this road...she seems willing enough to deal with it, so this should be fun.

DH said something about salisbury steak tonight, and we also have a "Little Women" play at the college theater...always busy with this girl.

Anyway, hopeful to be in better spirits tomorrow, maybe get my mind set right.

Regarding your first sentence, you can write whatever you want as a comment to us - we will prob not be offended! for instance, i was getting really opinionated on your entries like in my "demanding" advice to limit cheese....but you can still of course do as you please! :) and so it's the case as you comment on ours...it doesn't have to be supportive or helpful it could just be relating your own experiences to ours...

or keep doing what you are doing! that's ok too! glad to see a post from you!!!!!!!

i'm glad they had $1 hot dogs....what places charge these days, especially at games, is unreal! Like $3 and $4 bottled waters! and $10-$15 drinks!! For ONE alcoholic drink!

cheesecake factory i'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves!

what will the military ID card be good for for the girl???...

lol people always want whatever $$$ they can get extra...it can add up if they keep getting back everything they want....wouldn't you???? i do understand where you are coming from tho! but if you don't know the steps, she may have to do those steps on her own...

i'm glad she'll be getting braces or whatever it may be....a beautiful smile will be worth it...

that's cool to see Little Women Play..!

Donkey on 07/19/2018:
It's nice to hear that you are reading the entries even though you may not comment. I don't always comment either. I usually read everyone's latest every day, but don't always have time or a contribution to comment.

bearcountrygg on 07/20/2018:
Feel free to say anything....I try to comment in a positive way to everyone most days.....or just ask a question….but if we get bossy...we think we are helping....we can be wrong...so just do your own thing.....only you know what is best for you.....but we like your input and comments and reports...or..use this place for your own advantage as a sounding board or a record.

Back in the winter we had a piece of trim, that is siding, come off the second floor eave. It stayed off a few weeks and I asked DH if he was going to get it fixed. He said...after the snow melts. The snow melted and that piece of trim still flapped in the wind. A neighbor even asked if DH wanted help with it and DH said the power washer was going to fix it. We hired a man to power wash the siding (for algae growth or moss - whatever the hell it is) and he said he would put it back up...and he did. It lasted all of two months.

So for the last two weeks I watched as every little bit of wind pulled that piece of trim down..again. I asked DH if he would get it fixed. He said he would. And he hasn't. So last night I get this hairbrained scheme to fix the trim myself. First off let me say, I'm not afraid of heights, I jumped out of airplanes for five years, so this doesn't phase me. What phases me is our ladder, which has a 250 pound weight limit. I tried but after the first step and it started shaking, I said never mind and let the trim hang. But the more I kept looking at it, it had to get fixed. So I went upstairs and opened the window and removed the screen and crawled out onto the roof of the porch, stood up and nailed that trim back in place. That was the easy part...the hard part was getting back inside the house. DH was standing there and I couldn't decide to go in head first or feet first and I was just so confused and started laughing. It is very hard to get anything accomplished when you are laughing so hard. I decided I would sit on the house and scoot my way back in, should have started with my feet, but I started with my head and when my @ss hit the lip of the window sill I thought I would just die. DH was trying to lift me up and pull me...we finally managed to get me back in the house, all in a comical manner and I have a eight inch bruise across my left @ss cheek that I'm very proud of.

I need to find that same place, when I have something in my head I need to get it accomplished to just do it.

I made the crossiant roll chicken pot pie with the rotisserie chicken, for some reason there seemed to be an insane number of peas in it this time. Yuck to peas, I think this is the only vegetable I don't like.

Walked the dog.

Indians Game tonight!

I got home and sat for a minute and fell asleep for about 45 minutes, I guess I was tired.

DH bought the rotisserie chicken again and I took all the meat off and used half for the chicken enchiladas we had for dinner and the other half for the chicken, tomato, avocatdo, corn salad with honey lime dressing I have for lunch.

I walked the dog.

Tonight I will make the pot pie with the croisant rolls and rotisserie chicken again, this is what DH wanted for dinner.

DH got a raise and he wants to go out this weekend.

I have two gift cards to Cheesecake Factory that we could use, but I'm not sure what the plans will be.

I know the girl is having a friend over on Saturday and we have things to do and errands to run on Saturday, so maybe Sunday.

This morning I spilled milk all over the floor in the dining room and spent an extra ten minutes cleaning up, this caused me to be late for work...and I have a headache!

Have a great day! IP

DH went grocery shopping...bless him!

He picked up the girl and she gave Steve another bath, I think one more and he should be skunk free. DH went and get moth balls and put around the shed, hoping to run the skunk(s) off. Later he will try to block it where nothing can get under the shed.

I did mow and weed the front yard, with instructions to water the flowers when I get home today.

DH made the squash, zucchini, potato, ham casserole thing, It was actually pretty good.

We have an Indians game on Friday night and some activities this weekend. Work is crap.

I have to use avocados before they go bad...

Somewhere in my life I must have pissed someone off. DH's truck was quoted to be about $750 to fix. He called his friend Art and Art told him to take it to someone else. The truck ended up being about $75 dollars to fix. The $750 quote was to replace all the components and the $75 dollars was just to replace a piece of hose that had rusted through causing the leak. Hopefully it remains leak free for awhile.

Apparently somehow, someway I broke a porcelain crown on a tooth. I remember getting this root canal and the dentist telling me how much better the porcelain crown is compared to the gold one the army put in my mouth, funny how my gold crown is still intact. This is going to cost about $450 to get replaced...really not a happy camper. And the girl's clarinet is repaired too. So that little bonus I got at work is just poof...gone.

And then, Steve gets sprayed by a skunk last night. OMG my house reeks.

Because my dental appointment was longer than expected, I didn't get home until well after 5:00 not giving me time to drive across town for my glow hike. That's oK, I have a scavenger hike I signed up for this weekend.. DH had picked up lamb gyro wraps...in a tortilla and not in the great gyro bread, but it was still good.

B: Jimmy Dean's delights, iced vanilla latte

L: PB&J, apple

D: DH says he is making some ham, potato, zucchini thing, I hope it tastes alright. Not a zucchini fan.

I guess I'm buy my ticket to the mega millions and try to win the lottery. Anyway...have a great night! IP

Had a slow weekend, I may have been in one of my depressed, i don't want or feel like doing anything at all funks. Saturday DH's truck had a bad transmission leak and it is at the shop now. He drove my car on Sunday thus preventing me from even leaving the house, even if I did want to do anything, but I didn't.

Eating was ok Saturday we had pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans.

Sunday I made chicken paprikash and salad

Tonight we have signed up for a glow hike, but depending on my dental apointment, I may or may not feel like going. I hate the dentist and right now there isn't anything in my mouth that hurts, but that isn't always the case after I leave.
