What a week. Son came in at 2:30 am last Wednesday. Missed him. We ran around trying to get him a drivers license to no avail. Shopping for a wedding ring and planned a shot gun wedding that turned out pretty nice despite the weather and applied for a replacement SSN card all in three days. Son came and left!

Cold came and stayed. Oh the sinus misery. I was unable to breathe for the last three days and hopefully today will be the last hard day. Because I had no taste buds I had no appetite and tho I lost weight, do not recommend this method.

Doing the challenge at work I am #9. I want to be higher so I will find time to walk more or do my Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds DVD.

I hope all are doing well.

Today I have designated as a scheduled binge day...because I saw my wedding pictures. OMG I have no words, I am ashamed to have my family see them. Tomorrow is the first and the start, again, of this new eating life style. It is so hard. It has just never felt so unattainable before. Daunting to say the least.

My dear Steve chewed up the ear piece to my glasses, I'm not sure how he got ahold of them unless when I was looking at the dreaded wedding photos I layed them on the pillow beside me. I only have to wear them a few weeks, my next eye doctor appointment is 10/23/14.

I did pull weeds for about an hour last night all the old gladiolus are gone. DH mowed the grass all in all I did achieve my 5,000 step goal.

D: grilled chicken, brocolli, egg noodles and a sauce made from creme of chicken soup and sour cream

S: yogurt covered granola

Son texted last night, he made the plane, but he is stuck in Customs. His girlfriend is from India and she didn't have the right Visa, so he may or may not make it to Cleveland tonight, we will see.

B: toast, this is the last day for toast

S: protein bar

L: left over grilled chicken and brocolli from last night, yogurt covered granola

D: pizza - I will not over do it. But I am going to set a goal to be under 300 by the end of the month.

I will be in the process of making all the preventative maintenance appointments for October, oh joy!

Oh the weekend!!

Friday night DH grilled pork chops and made corn. He also grilled a small pork roast to cook pork fried rice.

Saturday DH had to work in the morning so me and Steve just hung out. No football teams played. We were going to go to the apple orchard, but I was thinking the last time we went we picked too many apples and most of them ruined, so I decided not to go.

B: iced coffee, protein bar

L & D: 1/2 turkey swiss market fresh sandwich

DH and I did go see the move The Equalizer. It started off slow but it picked up, I enjoyed it greatly. I love Denzel Washington.

Sunday, DH volunterred to fill in at the Metro Parks hay ride so he was gone from 11:00 to 4:00 so I stayed home and finished laundry, vacuumed, and dusted. I also dust mopped the hardwood floors, wow what a bunch of dog hair, it's amazing what you can't see. My weekend was very good, I enjoyed my alone time and not having the little girl...and the hair treatment place called. The little girl was not taken for her follow-up appointment. I can see me at the casino in a few weeks.

Hopefully son will be flying in tomorrow...if he can get to the airport on time.

Picked up the little girl after work and went home. DH grilled chicken and made some steamed brocoli, it tasted a bit salty but it was good.

Since DH had to cart the little girl home, I took Steve for his walk so I could get my 5,000 steps in. At one point I didn't think I was going to make it back, but I did. Lower back was screaming at me!

DH left to take the little girl home, I made lunch and brought some clothes up from the basement. I watched the biggest loser (that new female trainer is awesome - I don't remember her name).

We went to bed after Project Runway, well Dh was already asleep in the chair.

L: Pepperidge Farm round bread, turkey and 1 piece of provolone cheese

S: dole fruit can (peaches)

I think DH said he was going to grill pork chops tonight, it could change, it's always does on Friday.

Tomorrow is supposed to be date night. We wanted to see Denzel Washington's new movie The Equalizer. We also have an apple picking date and then on Sunday there is WooleyBear Festival in Vermillion. Somewhere I am going to mow the grass and pull all the dead summer flowers out of the flower beds. Should be a busy weekend.

Got home from work and vacuumed out my son's car, it has been in the garage the last year, we took it out  once a month and drove it around for him. I got the oil changed and the front end aligned, I will be glad when it is out of my garage.

D:  breaded baked tilapia with steamed brocolli, it was suprisingly good

After dinner I had some yogurt covered raisins, those are so addicting.

Went to bed about 10:15 and starting getting texts about 10:45 from...my son. He was telling me he missed his flight from Korea! What the What??? He didn't arrive in the two hour window and the airlines forfeited his seats. The next flight is not until Tuesday. He is a worldly flyer, I'm surprised he messed this up! Oh well I will see him Tuesday, i've waited two years a few more days won't hurt.

L; tuna and cottage cheese, yogurt covered raisins.

D: grilled chicken, brocolli is planned.

We have to get the little girl after work today, Her mother already texted my DH asking if he could bring her back home, because her husband was in the hospital fighting not to lose his foot and the doctor can't see him until after 8:00 pm tonight! WHAT THE WHAT??? She should have just stopped at her hustband was in the hospital. I don't believe a doctor will tell you they can't be there until after 8:00...well maybe but I don't know, apparently it's not an emergency or else a different doctor would entertain the foot...I'm just saying. So, I guess that answers my question on whether or not the little girl will get to the follow-up appointment with the hair treatment guy tomorrow. Oh well.

Work blows today and I was so looking forward to not working tomorrow, but I changed my day off to spend with my son if he ever makes it home.

So my eye feels better but apparently it doesn't look better to the doctor. So I have to go back yet again after changing drops to see if this will help. He gave me four weeks until the next appointment. I'm just thankful I'm not blind. I did manage to go to the beauty salon, I was going for a cut but she talked me into retouching my silver roots. I agreed. This appointment took over an hour and DH wasn't home yet with the little girl.

DH picked up Jimmy Johns onhis way home, so I had a turkey/swiss sandwich, the bread was the best I have ever tasted, though not good for me...well maybe multi grain bread. DH said the exwife is supposed to take the little girl back to the treatment center on Friday. I'll believe that if it happens.

DH also gave me three blueberry cobbler cookies from Pepperidge Farms. I do not even know how many calories those were.

B: toast

L: tuna with cottage cheese, yogurt covered raisons, apple - tuna juice leaked out of the container, lunch tote now smells like a dirty hooha! YUCK. I will have to seriously bleach it out today.

D: grilled tilapia and broccoli is what was talked about, will see if it is what we actually have.

I am supposed to take my son's car and get it cleaned out and washed. My baby comes home tomorrow night! So excited to see him.

Received the email that Steve's intermediate pubppy class could start next week. He really like his dog play dates, eventhough he was supposed to be learning.

Reached my 5,000 steps last night walking him.

Oh what good is a calendar if you never refer back to it?

On my way home yesterday (I drove myself because DH had a dental appointment- we usually carpool) I received a text reminder that we had committed to volunteer at the local food bank. Damnit!! forgot all about it, but yep there it was on the calendar. So DH still being at the dentist I had to go myself. I usually like doing it, but last night I was between a gastapo lady who kept asking me if I was checking the dates...uh..YEAH I told her twice and then the lady beside me is grabbing it before I could check it and wipe it off. My shift was for 1.5 hours and I got home about 8:00, thinking I would have dinner. Wrong DH let me down. I had to microwave leftovers, which was OK, I was just hoping that it would have already been done, since DH bailed on the volunteer committment. I told him to look at the calendar before he makes his next appointment.

DH made an appointment for the little girl tonight to get her hair treated, it is a new heat treat process that was $85 with two follow-ups. I made a bet with DH that if the lice is back in two months I am taking $85 to the casino. He said OK. I just don't think the mother will do anything on her end to prevent the little buggers from reappearing. They are all nasty to me. I put the two kids on my insurance when we got married and she has yet to make the kids a dental appointment. WHY? because she is a lazy sow! And she doesn't work, which makes me even madder.

A lady pissed me off at work today too, Oh man I better not have to walk past a vending machine I can feel a cold one coming on...my DDP how I miss thee.

D: left over hoisen glazed moo shu pork with dried out rice...yuck

This happy Tuesday morning I overslept and had to rush through a shower. My little Steve didn't even wake up during the night. I drove again by myself because I have a follow-up eye appointment, it is much better. I am thinking of getting my hair cut off after that, i will see and I guess I will be alone until DH gets back from the hair treatment.

Busy weekend, I meant to log onto the laptop at home but it was drained, the desk top is in another room and I didn't bother to go in there.

Saturday

B: DH brought me what was supposed to be a steak biscuit from McDonald's but the texture was so nasty and ropey I gave most of it to Steve so I ate the egg and biscuit.

L; tin roof sundae (a smaller version of my peanut buster parfait)

D: Market Fresh turkey

We were out and about all day Saturday. We had a reservation at Paint with a Twist for the little girl. I think I had more fun watching her paint than she actually did. I can never tell if she is enjoying herself or not, she is just so emotionless. And during this little outing DH informs me that the little girl has head lice again. I am livid. We fought those little buggers eight months last year!! I get pissed because she is only with us every other weekend and once or twice during the week. I hate her mother, who apparently does nothing on her end to prevent them...or keep them away.

 I loved the experience and am looking forward to reserving a couples date so DH and I can paint a two sided picture. After the little girl finished her picture we had another event in another town to get to. It was a Dogie Doo in Oblerin. A festival for your dog. Lots of pet vendors and other dogs, we had a great time and the weather was nice. Steve is such a little gentlmen in public.

We received lots of dog food samples, and though Steve acts well in public, being home is a different story. DH fed him a few bits of a new food and at the time Mr. Steve liked it. It wasn't yet dinner and it was way after lunch so we stopped at a road side ice cream store, they usually have dog ice cream but someone from the festival bought it all out. I ordered a small tin roof sundae, which was soft serve, chocolate syrup and some peanuts. I was happy with it. We ate the ice cream and finally headed back home.

Once home the DH and little girl go grocery shopping and Steve and I stayed home because my football team was on TV. So I watched football. DH loves shopping anyway so he goes every weekend. He is such a number cruncher. It's funny they go shopping for all the food, but bring home Arby's sandwiches...buy one get one free.

Several times in the week hours of Sunday morning someting wasn't fairing well with Mr. Steve and he had me up and down all night. Poor little guy, I think it was the new food DH was little him sample or he picked up something that wasn't good at the festival. He was better by morning though. Alas, so long good night sleep.

Sunday:

B: toast

L: we headed out to the Apple Festival in Elyria. Just a few vendors and lost of junkey food. We got the ahem little girl a Kid print ID. She weighs 130 pounds. I joined the Army in 1985 at 139 and was a foot taller and i was almost considered overweight!! Again, we do not eat the best and are trying to change our habits, but I don't see how it can help if her main home does not do the same. I had a bite of DH's gyro, 1/2 of a funnel cake (It was just oo greesy) DH ate the rest. The little girl had cheese covered greesy fries, which again DH had to finish. I have had this discussion before, he needs to let things go to waste...or else he will be seing a bigger waiste. Again the number cruncher arises and he cannot just throw $5.00 french fries away...I would!

We got home and I have to do the laundry and I just love it so much...NOT. both days I did reach my 5,000 step fit bit goal.

D: DH made a pork casserole that was pretty tasty however it was a bit spicy so I couldn't eat that much of it. It had pork, rice, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms and hoisin sauce in it. Again it was very tasty.

Steve was feeling better so as DH went to gas up my car, I took Steve for his nightly walk.

Today the work challenge for walk across Cleveland begins with 5,000 steps a day. Go TEAM!

Autumn is certainly on the way, on the way home last night from our walk I saw this tree that just isn't waiting!

Today I am telling you the truth. DH brought me a peanut buster parfait, and I ate it, no I love it. I have such a sweet tooth. So how can one be good with they have temptations like this?

I came to work today only to be given donuts...not one but two. Yes I ate them. I could have said no thank you...but again this sugar is my weekness. I need to have a sign on my desk to read "don't offer food" "do not feed"!

I had a life coach who called once a week but I could tell her anything, yes I ate right, I exercised, sure I did all of that, when in actuality I did nothing. She wasn't in my face to see the real story. Needless to say I dropped out of that program. I need to quit lying to myself and others.

D: a small piece of chicken fried steak and one helping of mashed potatoes...looking back, sure I could have thrown in a vegetable...but didn't!

B; toast - oh and two donuts!

L: I am supposed to go out with the office people in celebration of the university's 50th anniversity with food trucks and tents and all kinds of bad stuff. I will try to find the lightest thing they are selling because other than that I don't have lunch today.

D: we were registered to go to a luau in celebration of "Talk like a pirate day" but I just received a call that it was cancelled, ergo, nothing was taken out for dinner.

We have the little girl this weekend, I can only hope I don't pull out my hair.

My son is scheduled to come in next Thursday on his way to Georgia. Can't wait to see him, it has been two years.

This is the truth! I have horrible eating habits!

But I still HOPE!

Keep hoping and don't give up. Sugar is tough to beat and peanut buster parfaits are one of my favorite things in the world! I think at least two of my tummy rolls are made entirely of peanut buster parfaits! You can beat the sugar; facing your own denial is the first step! Is there a 12 step program for beating sugar? LOL. And you don't need to confess if you don't want to - you know the truth and you are the only one that matters. Have a happy day, matey! (I forgot it was talk like a pirate day!)

Enjoy your visit with your son. One day at a time with the sugar .... My nemesis (one of many) is the salt..... There should be a 12 step program for those too lol!

There is a 12 step program for our addiction - Overeaters Anonymous OA. It is a great program. Just hang in there girl. It take a lot of courage to come clean like you did today. You have completed your first step. Admitted you where powerless over food.

Couldn't get motivation to go to work day, so I called in. While at home I mowed the back yard and then vacuumed

DH walked the dog today and I still made over 5000 steps on my fitbit thanks to mowing.
