Weight: 229.0

Today was great,

breakfast: kashi cereal w/side of almond butter protein, no milk lunch: 1 lean beef patty, brown rice, steamed veggies dinner: turkey sandwiches w/mustard, low fat cheese, lettuce, snack: nuts and raisins after-run carb meal - pasta w/light sauce no soda today, just water

excersize; walk around echo park lake in the morning, and 6.5 miles run at night (10K) ie from hermosa beach to manhattan beach

consistancy gets results avoiding soda, sweets, and fast food options will accelerate my weight loss avoiding anything that comes in a bag

Progress as of today: 69 lbs lost so far, only 49 lbs to go!

Weight: 229.0

Today was not stellar, but I managed to make a majority of heathly decisions while grocery shopping.

Breakfast: carrots and apples w/water and some almonds, then 3 (rather large) cookies for mid day snack. lunch: 1 medium beef patty with lettuce, ketchup, and some celery. Dinner was two small turkey sanwhiches on bagellettes w/mustard and low fat jack cheese. Cashews again today (I got some at the store) and raisins topped off the eating. I had about 5 glasses of water and 3 glasses diet coke at the gig tonight.

Today I learned that I should never buy sweets at the grocery store. There going to be the first things gone from my cubboard and Ill never ration them over the course of a week. Ill be lucky if they make it to the end of the day. Also, because I shopped on an empty stomach, that lead me to a quick decision to buy three cookies in the bakery. I downed them all by the time I got home for lunch.

Also, because I had an early rehearsal today, I didn't get to go excersize in the morning. But thats not a big concern for me, Im going on another 10K tommorrow so its good to take a day in between the cardio sets.

Im also trying to remind myself Im at the heaviest I've been in a few months, and Id like to get back to that usual weight of just under 220. Ive dropped two pounds on the scale today though, but we'll see how that is tommorrow when I weigh in after my run. . . .

Hey! Mid-day snacks are totally unnecessary! Cut them out! Also, stay away from the bakery. Go to the produce section instead.

Weight: 231.0

Today I ate well, im trying to stick to a healthy diet the next three weeks prior to christmas holiday, and to kick off a new year of more healthy eating, which will hopefully lead to my weight goal achievement.

breakfast: apples, carrots, and celery, with water lunch: two beef patties, two soy corn dogs, more apples and carrots dinner: caesar salad w/tomatoes and bell peppers, and chicken w/diet coke evening snack: cashews and a piece of chocolate

excersize: A walk around echo park in the morning, a run of 10K (6.5 mi) at 6:30pm

I probalby should have avoided the diet coke, that killed my metabolism. but then the run afterwords kicked that back in. Im going to try and go to the store tommorrow, im planning on getting more sliced turkey and wrapping that in lettuce instead of two pieces of bread. The carbs really have to be cut this week to get the weight loss back into gear. I want to be back at my usual weight of 220 this week. I can get there soon, ill keep you all posted.

Progress as of today: 67 lbs lost so far, only 51 lbs to go!

BTW I read that caffeine actually has a stimulating effect on metabolism?

You do eat a lot of fiber!

thanks everyone, my story comes from the moment I had on August 24, 2005 - the realization that my life was going to take place whether or not i lost the weight. So I decided, Id much rather go through life feeling better emotionally, physically, and psychologically. I started by stepping on a scale which read 298. That was a couple of days after already trimming down my diet. I believe I started at around 305 pounds. So I started swimming in college, taking a weights class, and ballroom dance. Then I got to 230 by the end of senior year (may 2006). Since then, its been a yoyo for me, i got down to 216 and now am back up to 230. But I do feel good about my trajectory at this point. Im so very determined to get down below 200 pounds, even if it takes me 10 years. Everything is so much better now that I have got to this point.
