I wasn't going to post today given I had a horrible night of eating.  I did what I did and now I must move on.   For what it's worth, at least I drank more than 64 oz of water. ..

Will post meals later.  Am going to the store in a bit to replenish my supply of fresh fruits and vegetables.   Will probably plan meals around those and what's ever in the freezer as that is definitely fully stocked.

And in the latest "isn't Chicago's weather ridiculous" segment -- currently 66 degrees with flash flood warnings tonight followed by snow tomorrow...

Well, gotta get on with day.  Have a great one all.

** Monday already?   How the heck did that happen?**

Had another good day with water; not so good with food.  While my meals were appropriate, I did evening snacking of popcorn and a tuna fish sandwich.  Neither was necessary but both were ridiculous.    Amazingly the scale didn't punish me this morning but I renew my resolve as I definitely want to hit my first mini-goal by the end of the month and today's the 28th!  Onward.

Need to go to the store again today or tomorrow as I'm almost out of fresh fruit and veggies.  Every time I think of having another salad I cringe.  Have been having at least some salad as a sidedish instead of as a meal and that seems to be tolerable (and actually tasty so I must need my veggies)

Keeping this short and will catch up with everyone later.  Have a great start to your week!

Today's Food Plan:

B:  egg on bagel thin w/sprinkling of mozzarela cheese,  water, coffee

s:  apple

L:  tuna fish salad (greek yogurt, celery, onions, carrots) on bagel thin w/lots of lettuce.  Side salad w/ balsamic dressing.  water

s:  tbd

D:  broiled flounder (Yeah!), cauliflower or broccoli, side salad, water

 Mini-goal:  Lose 10 lbs;  9 lbs down, 1 lb to go!

Yeah I sometimes burn myself out with the salads so i try to mix it up with another veggie alternative but I always seem to go back to the standby salad when I am not feeling creative,LOL.. Talked to my Mom today and she told me that all the snow is gone and it is warming up a bit so I am sure you are one happy camper :)

Yeah that was so uncool what the vendor did to us and didn't even bother to call or at least send out e-mails to all letting us know she wouldn't make it, don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the day but I could have def used a few extra hours of sleep before the afternoon party.. You should have heard what the manager of the other place thought of her antics and I thought I had a potty mouth, he made me look like a choir girl..hahahaha

well this particular one im having tonight is the gardien brand orange chickn.. but sometimes i dont use the sauce, i use sautee packs.. and make it italian herb chickn or garlic lemon chickn, but its just like its sounds... a vegetarian version of chicken :)

Yesterday was, thankfully, another ok food day.  Again, I exceeded 64 oz of water!  I did have a bagel thin later in the evening but otherwise the food plan with reasonable portions was followed. I suspect McDonald's stock is plumenting as I haven't been there in over 2 weeks.  McDonald's crew members who work the drive-thru have probably reported a missing person....

Weather in the Chicago area is supposed to get ugly for most of the day.  Lots of freezing rain/ice in the forecast.  Amazingly it's then supposed to be 60 degrees on Tuesday and then snow for Wednesday.  Crazy.  Anyway, may sneak out first thing this morning to pick up some things before the fun starts.  Then I'll happily stay hunkered down in the house.

l:  tuna salad made with greek yogurt, onions, celery, carrots on bagel thin w/lots of lettuce (Tange had that yesterday and inspired me), tossed salad, water

I wonder if McDonalds does see a downward trend every January (new diets) and an upswing every February (failed dieting). It's been a month since I've been to McDonalds and I usually ate there 2 times per week.

I totally understand you not wanting to be out in that weather. I am doing the same. I think that McDonalds can afford a few downward sales considering how much their sales are. We will not put them in the poor house because we are not showing up. lol Have a good relax day.

Good food day yesterday.  Consumed more than 64 oz of water - that's a first.   Also finally made flounder and it was delicious!  Will definitely be making that again and probably soon!   (based on internet recipe trolling, I mixed together @ 1 tbls olive oil, garlic, oregano and @ 1 tbls lemon juice.  Brushed flounder w/mixture and lightly sprinkled with Italian bread crumbs.  Broiled for @ 8 minutes.)  Very, very satisfying!  Scale smiled up at me this morning with 1 lb loss.  Yeah!

Yesterday did have its disappointments.  V never showed up to shovel so I had to do it myself.  Thankfully, snow was light and I could do it with my trademarked one-armed shovel shove.  Then I lost power again - 2nd time this week.  Passed the time sitting in the dark by tormenting the cat with a laser light.  He's finally regained consciousness after his many flights into the walls.

Happy Friday all.  I altered yesterday's food plan.  Had a large lunch of liver and onions (several people recently posted liver so, of course, I was craving it.)  Wasn't hungry at dinner so I just had popcorn.  Not the healthiest dinner but that's what I did.  Another day of being ok with water. Haven't gotten on the scale for a few days but plan to do that tomorrow.  Hope to be better today. 

V offerred to shovel my driveway so I hope she arrives soon.  Have about 2" of the white stuff waiting for her. 

Today's Food Plan:

B:  bagel thin w/egg small amount of mozarella (yummy!), water, coffee

s:  grapes

L:  salad (romaine, tomatoes, peppers, balsamic dressing), water

s:  apple?

D:  flounder, broccoli and cauliflower, water


Mini-goal:  Lose 10 lbs:  lost 7; 3 more to go.

We got more snow here too, and now I have a tiny little walking path to the garage because i'm too lazy to shovel. Maybe when V is done shoveling your driveway she can come shovel my backyard path to the garage ;)

RYC - so far the juicing is going well, I guess we'll see once I actually make it a habit if I really like it or not. Definitely takes me at least half an hour to get the thing going, juice the recipe twice, and then clean up afterwards. I think it's worth it though, i've probably never eaten so many vegetables in my life ;)

Yesterday's food was good; night time snacking wasn't.  Had both popcorn and some chocolate chips.  Tsk, tsk.  Didn't overindulge but having both was unnecessary.  On the plus side, I did do all my water. Yeah me!  Onward with a new day.

May have to actually touch the shovel today -- the first all season.  Probably not more than 1" of snow but enough that I want to get it off the driveway so I don't end up with ice. 

Had a great night's sleep so I feel very motivated today!  Hope to get lots of misc done around the house.  I do wish I wasn't such a slob (clutter-bug) but I just can't seem to help myself.  How embarassing.  I try to blame everything on the cat but that just annoys him...

Today's Food Plan:

B:  grapefruit, water, coffee

s:  grapes

L:  salad (romaine, tomatoes, every color of pepper, egg, celery, balsamic dressing) 

s:  tbd

D:  Flounder (a first for me so I'll check the internet for prep methods/recipes unless someone can suggest something), broccoli, perhaps salad.  

Mini-goal:  Lose 10 lbs:  lost 7; 3 more to go.

Had another good food day yesterday.  Still a bit shy on water but much better than I usually do...   Got on the scale and was pleased to see I'm down a lb.  I'm sooo glad I hadn't gotten on the scale immediately following the weekend as I would have been horribly discouraged.  I know my motivation shouldn't be based on #s but the decrease does keep me motivated. 

Running some errands this morning and then meeting a friend for another free movie.

Yesterday's haircut turned out fine (several of you had asked about it.)  No new style but I'm happy with it.  I have short curly hair so maintenance is high with hair cuts every 4-6 weeks but the daily maintenance is low  -- just a blow dry.  

Will catch up with everyone later - gotta get a start on the day.  Have a good one and stay warm.

Today's Food Plan:

B:  grapefruit, water, coffee

s:  tbd

L:  salad (romaine, carrots, peppers, turkey, mushrooms, balsamic dressing)

s:  pretzels & water at movies

Good attitude ! Congrats on the loss ! I really don't know the good/bad ramifications of L...r on our diet. I hear you girls use it for iron and the guys use it for body building. Good post. Have a good one.

I hear you on the scale... SO shouldn't let it have power, but I always do... RYC Yes, I wasn't feeling nearly as cravey last night after having more carbs earlier in the day... Could have been coincidence, but there is lots of research that says if you eat more earlier in the day consistently you just aren't as hungry at night, so maybe there is some truth to it...

Was ok with food yesterday.  Did have popcorn and turkey slice for night snack and only 1/2 my water but meals were good and reasonable portions.  Am still waiting one more day before getting on the scale following the weekend.

Bitterly cold today; -20 with the wind chill.  Brrr.  Am getting my hair cut later this morning but then it will definitely be an inside kind of day.

Today will be the day of fully getting back on track after my weekend slips.  I did down 64 oz of water yesterday which is a first in a very, very long time.   Hope to do that again today!   Perhaps tomorrow I'll be brave enough to get back on the scale.

Cold, cold weather here in the Chicago area.  Went to the store this morning to get more veggies & fruit so I don't plan on leaving the house the rest of day.

Safely returned from weekend at Mom's.   Very busy few days but now her pantry is full, laundry and house are clean, RXs picked up, her hair is done, etc.   Once again, I'm very grateful for the mild winter (non-snowy) which has made travel a non-issue. 

While my portions were good, I definitely indulged in some not so great food choices.   Don't plan on getting on the scale for a day or two and will consume copious amounts of water till then.

Was back in my home for about an hour today and completely lost power.  Grr.  Thankfully it was restored in about 3 hours so at least I'm back up and running with heat, etc.  Temps with wind chills may get down to 10-20 below tonight so I'm happy to have the heat!
