Thursday - Dinner out with the girls; pizza again as it was the special - spinach, chicken, and I asked for feta cheese but they gave me pineapple. Huh. Didn't think you could misunderstand 'feta' for 'pineapple'.

Friday - All a blur. I was completely exhausted and I remember wanting to watch a movie and just relax at home. Didn't happen; in fact I fell asleep on the couch in the act of finding a movie to rent.

Saturday - Drove four hours to visit family; went to a theatre presentation of Les Miserables. Was wonderful! Stayed up late chatting with my very talkative aunt. Pretty Auntie is what she prefers to be called.

Sunday - Up at 8 a.m. for 9 holes of golf at a gorgeous golf course not even five minutes away from their place. Wow, they've got it made! Ran through Timmy's afterwards for coffees and treats for the house, then watched World War Z before driving the four hours back home.


I don't know if that makes you feel tired, but it feels to me like it should be Friday today. And that's not good, seeing as i've got three meetings this week to get through, plus getting everything else ready for my holidays starting next week.


Monday - Started my day with some iced coffee, but now I have a headache and my eyes just want to close. There is a plan to meet up with a friend after work; haven't seen her in forever! Yes, another late night is probable. No meal plans this week - will try to finish up whatever's in the fridge.

We've come to the point in the year where things get a little bananas for me. Fall meetings start up again and work just seems to start piling up. My evenings and weekends are packed and i'm lucky if I can find time for a load of laundry. Thank goodness for holiday time in October! 

I feel like lately I haven't been able to comment on everyone's entries like I want to, or really even think about what i'm writing out. I just hastily throw something down, click post, and move my attention onward.

But i'm not that person. One of the reasons I keep coming back to DDs is because of the awesome support and advice I get from the rest of you each and every time I post. And I like to think I can lift your spirits as much as you lift mine.

So while my posts may be irregular at best, you should all know that i'm still gonna hang out here when I can, read your posts, and throw in my two cents whenever I can ;o)

And I don't want to hear any whining about it. You're stuck with me and that's all there is to it.


I ate pizza for dinner yesterday. And I liked it. And then I started reading a book I got at the book sale for 25 cents. And the book, it got a little frisky. That's when I realized it was one of those books. And now if someone asks me, i'll have to tell them that - indeed - I have in fact read erotica. And no, it wasn't Shades of Gray.


THURSDAY ALREADY?

B - coffee

L - spring mix, chicken breast, bell pepper, cucumber, poppyseed dressing, 1 cob of corn

legcramps - Wednesday Sep 25, 2013

Weight: 168.0

Saturday - Golf tournament; won 2nd place YET AGAIN whoop whoop! I also took the prize for ladies' longest drive. Get me on the LPGA tour, people.

Sunday - CFL game; even though we lost in a nailbiter finish, it was great to be THERE and soak up the atmosphere.


Monday - Training day at work; drank lots of coffee and panicked when I returned to my office at the end of the day and saw all the e-mails i'd gotten. I was invited to a friend's for coffee, but begged off in lieu of hitting the sack early.

Tuesday - Training in the morning; rush to catch up on my work in the afternoon. There was a hockey game tonight, but I skipped it in favour of reading a very interesting book regarding a fellow who was an RCMP officer-turned-conman in the 1900's. Slurped up all 180 pages in one evening.


WEDNESDAY:

B - whole wheat sandwich thins, smooth pb, coffee

S - argh! the donuts got me!

L - spring mix, tofu, cucumber, bell pepper, poppyseed dressing

THURSDAY:

B - 8:45 - kashi cereal, blueberries, almond milk, coffee, sugar

S - 9:30 - coffee, almond milk, sugar

L - 12:00 - poor man's luncheon to raise funds for local hockey club: 1/2 cup chicken (really? there was chicken in there?) noodle soup, plain (aka no lettuce, no tomato, no nothin') ham sandwich on white (yuck) bread, rice crispy square; no offense to the folks who volunteered their time to make this, but that meal cost me $10?! completely unimpressed, which is insane because i'll eat ANYTHING.

S - 2:20 - hungry again, I wonder why? multigrain bagel with crunchy pb

S - 3:30 - coffee, black

D - 6:30 - baked potato with a little butter, bacon bits, and shredded mozza

S - 7:30 - mocha, large and delicious

S - 10:30 - two slices sprouted grain toast, one with pb&j, one with mozza cheese

Water - Five bottles (four bottle goal)

Exercise - 15 minute walk


It's so great to write absolutely everything out each day. When I looked at the clock last night and realized it was almost two o'clock in the morning and I still wasn't sleepy, I honestly wondered why. Now I know. Gorged myself on coffee. Today promises to be a long one.

Not enough greens in my menus lately. Big salad for lunch today should help with that.

HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA fail. Sloppy work, boys! Looks like it's going to be a rebuilding year.


FRIDAY!

B - 8:45 - kashi cereal, 1% milk, coffee, sugar

S - 10:30 - coffee, sugar

L - 11:50 - beef taco salad (all they had! wth?!)

S - 3:00 - kashi cereal, dry, eaten straight out of the bag and making the noisiest sounds ever on the extra crunchy parts

WEDNESDAY:

B - 8:15 - oatmeal, blueberries, crunchy pb, almond milk, coffee, sugar

S - 9:00 - coffee, sugar

L - 12:00 - spring mix, red bell pepper, tofu, cucumber, poppyseed dressing

S - 3:00 - 1/2 multigrain bagel, crunchy pb

D - 5:00 - very spicy chicken and rice soup, got 1/2 cup in and realized my lips went numb, turkey sandwich, coffee

S - 8:00 - baked potato with bacon bits and shredded mozza to make up for the light dinner

Water - four bottles (goal met)

Exercise - 15 minute walk at work


THE RETURN OF HOCKEY:

First local hockey game tonight! And a couple tailgate events I could purchase dinner at if i wanted hot dogs and soda.

Also I can't believe it's only Thursday. Longest. Week. Ever.

lately i'm still all up on the nut butters myself....and right now, my favorite is the smart balance nut butter spraed (whatever it's called) because it has a little after taste that makes me LESS likely to binge! haha, but obviously I do still love it enough to want to buy it...

thank you for your insight...you were right on the money....things have been TOO BORING for me for awhile....so, yes, i'm going to attempt little things (especially on weekends) that are more adventurous....or at least exciting! thanks again..

TUESDAY:

B - 8:30 am - kashi cereal, blueberries, almond milk, coffee, sugar

L - 12:00 pm - leftovers (sweet potato, chicken breast, rice, veggies)

S - 2:45 pm - multigrain bagel, crunchy pb, and after work an iced coffee from Tim Horton's while shopping in the city

D - 6:30 pm - spaghetti squash, Healthy Choice sauce, shredded mozza, 1/2 slice naan with butter and garlic spread

S - 8:45 pm - 1/2 slice naan with smooth pb and jam

WATER - five bottles (four bottle goal)


SPAGHETTI SQUASH:

Easy. Cut squash in half. Scoop out guts. Brush flesh with olive oil and pinch of salt. Place in microwave and cook for 10 minutes on high. 'Shred' squash by using fork and scooping out of shell. Done. Just as good as regular old spaghetti, a lot less calories!


WEDNESDAY:

I love spaghetti squash. I just picked up a couple of weird varieties of squash (I think one is delicata?) just for the heck of it and because they were cheap. Not sure yet how I will prepare them but topping with sauce is a great idea.

I think I managed to swallow my coffee in one gulp this morning. Now I have to choose between water or another cup of coffee. Really didn't take the time to enjoy that cup at all!

Alright, i'll have a bottle of water and then if I still want more coffee, so be it.


MONDAY:

B - 9:00 am - coffee, sugar, almond milk, oatmeal, blueberries

L - 12:00 pm - spring mix, tofu, poppyseed dressing; 1/2 cup leftover rice and veggies and a little chicken breast

D - 5:30 pm - spaghetti squash with store-bought Healthy Choice sauce and some shredded mozzarella

S - 7:30 pm - 1 piece naan bread, warmed up, with a little butter and garlic spread

S - 9:00 pm - 1 piece apple slice, warmed up, with a little dairy-free ice cream (and when I say little, I mean two teaspoons little)

Left the snacking for evening, which is why I wasn't able to satiate my hunger last night and went to sleep with a growling tummy. Sucked. But at least I didn't binge.


TUESDAY:

B - 8:30 am - kashi cereal, blueberries, almond milk, coffee, sugar

AM - 11:00 am - sugar, coffee

L - 12:00 pm - leftovers (sweet potato, chicken breast, rice, veggies)

legcramps - Monday Sep 16, 2013

Went to the book sale on Saturday morning and now I have about two weeks of reading to do. Which might take me four weeks if I manage to control myself and limit my reading time.


Golfed in another tournament on Sunday; texas scramble with three other ladies; ended up placing 2nd. Four drives were required from each player on the team; in the end they took 5 of mine but yikes it was like pulling teeth to get a good drive out of me!


Ate well over the weekend; took a few pics which is still helping I think. One splurge yesterday afternoon which was a grab bag of BBQ chips in place of lunch. I haven't weighed myself for a long time, but the pants were starting to feel tight. Thankfully, that feeling has diminished slightly so I know i'm heading in the right direction.


Busy week ahead - Tuesday and Thursday are supposed to be workout sessions; Wednesday I have another evening meeting. Either today or Friday I need to head into the city and shop for a new winter jacket and also spring for a new outfit for Les Mis in just a couple of weeks! So excited for this! And of course there is always house and yard work. Fall is definitely here now :(

A Day in the (Recent) Life:

Here are some pics of my eats on Thursday!

Breakfast was cereal and fruit

 and the coffee was disgusting, so...  

I made coffee at work and chucked the crappy stuff!

Lunch was the staff BBQ

 which was quite delicious and a nice change up.

PM Snack of which I ate half (these are fairly large bagels, man)

 with crunchy peanut butter that had little pieces of banana in it! I'm still not sure whether I like it or not, so it's staying at work for now.

And, the piece de la resistance, the dinner that kept me satisfied for the rest of the evening. That rarely happens.   

and, of course, water was had all through the day (this one with some crystal light)

I actually found myself conscious of what I was eating all day simply because I was taking pics of everything. Perhaps I should do this more often?

Breakfast - 8:15 am - kashi cereal with almond milk, coffee with more almond milk. forgot to bring fruit to work with me, so the cereal was a little less appealing to look at. still tasted great, though.

Lunch - 12:00 pm - brought a salad for lunch before realizing that I still have to eat the lunch I brought to work yesterday. well, I guess i'll have to make a choice. the salad would be the better option today, since I had BBQ yesterday. went with the salad, go me! spring mix, kale, yellow bell pepper, baked tofu, poppyseed dressing. delicious.

Walk after lunch - 15 minutes.

PM Snack - 3:00 pm - multigrain bagel and some smooth pb. got to leave work even earlier than I thought and had my pm snack at home instead :)

Dinner - 7:00 pm - baked potato, a little butter and sour cream, and some bacon bits.

8:00 pm - craving veggies, so i'm roasting some zuchinni I got from Mom, with yellow bell pepper and onions.

maybe later a slice of... apple-lemon cake / slice / crumble... thing... that Mom sent home with me yesterday, if I start to crave something sweet!

Water - five bottles today = approx. 3 litres so far. did exceptionally well with water yesterday but I can't honestly say that's a normal day.


Cold - better! a little headache last night, sniffles and such this morning, but my head is definitely a lot clearer today.

BONUS - knocked an hour and a half off of my workday today (payback on some built up OT), so i'm heading home early this afternoon! THAT. ROCKS. MY. WORLD. I may take a nap with the extra time ;)
