Weight: 166.0

Yesterday I accomplished: work, wash dishes, send last of the Christmas cards, & purchase last of the Christmas gifts, new toenail colour applied.

Dinner was chicken and pasta.

Tasks to accomplish today:

- Work

- Wrap last of gifts

Shovel deck and back pathway (snowing today)

- Send out some texts and e-mails regarding Christmas and wallyball.

I couldn't find enough people who wanted to play wallyball :( so i'm going to spare this year and see if I can't drum up some interest for a team next year instead.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 12/19/2012:
Sounds like got a lot done. :) What colour did you paint your toenails? I like to do mine when I'm going to be wearing sandals, which I will next month. I think I have still have some dark red somewhere in the house.

Yesterday I accomplished: work, dishes, clean kitchen, living room, sweep floors, call Dad, send a Christmas card off.

Dinner was homemade ham pizza with red pepper, spinach, and mozza cheese.

Tasks to accomplish today:

- Work

- Send off last of Christmas cards

- Purchase & wrap last of gifts

- Toenails! I need a new colour!!!

- Research turkey-cooking

- Shovel deck and back pathway

Dad is going to visit me on Christmas Day this year, so i'm planning to make a real Christmas meal for him. I'm not the best cook in the kitchen, but I want to do this and I think I can. So I have to research it tonight ;) and start taking notes haha! Turkey 101.

I wonder if mine will look this good...

Turkey is a good choice. I'm sure it will be great.

Slightly relieved to be at work on this Monday morning; means the hectic weekend is over and I don't have to stare at all the chores that are at home waiting for me...

Which means I didn't get much accomplished over the weekend.

In fact, I haven't accomplished much at all lately.

But I made one awesome homemade pizza yesterday afternoon. I mean, this is serious business. It was delicious. A little pepperoni and ham to fatten it up, lots of sweet peppers, spinach, spicy sauce. Good stuff.

I have got to catch up on my to-do list this week; it's getting longer and longer each day and that's driving me bananas. I thought I would calm down on the weekend and get stuff done, but that didn't happen.

Sigh. I didn't bring lunch to work today, so i'll have to head to the cafeteria once again.

I think i'll be glad once this month is over. Unless January decides to be a b*tc$ as well.

My friend's father is now in a medicated coma; they are hoping the forced 'rest' will help him recover and heal whatever infections are coursing through him. Thanks SO MUCH for your thoughts and prayers!

As for me, TGIF! I have a few things on my plate for the weekend: planning christmas visits with family, cleaning house, shovelling, wrapping the rest of the gifts, and visiting - if it is appropriate - my #2 Dad. Also, a few cups of coffee ;)

First things first though; i'll be heading to bed early tonight if the fates allow. There is a bad virus going around and I want to make sure i'm in the best state possible before the weekend starts. So a little light reading and lots of tea before bed tonight, and hopefully that'll make it a good night's rest.

I had chicken and macaroni for supper yesterday. Vegetables are becoming rare in the fridge. But tonight, i'll be using up all the sweet peppers I have. So I guess i'll have to add grocery shopping to the list as part of my weekend duties. I've been relying far too much on cafeteria food. Even though it's as healthy as anything i'd make at home, i'm spending too many dollars on this. Cafeteria food is not in my budget! But, oh. em. gee. the soup here is delicious!

Last night they called in the family for a friend of mine that's in hospital. He is actually the father of my very best friend, and a man i've called 'Dad' who's been in my life for over 25 years. They are very worried about him. I keep getting updates from the family, and it's not looking good. They think he is going through organ failure.

It's such a difficult time for the family, especially being so close to Christmas. Please send prayers and good vibes.

Yesterday didn't go as planned. A friend was in hospital, so I visited with him for a while after work. Then another friend called me, was upset on the phone, and so I cancelled my pizza-making plans to spend some time letting her vent. I had some supper at her place instead, a burger. I wasn't about to get picky.

This morning is going well so far, knock on wood. There's a lot going on at work this week, so i'm trying to take it one step at a time and not get discouraged.

Nothing much planned for today at the moment, so i'd like to get a workout in after work and do a few chores. I want to put a team together for wallyball which starts after the new year, so i'm going to try and confirm that today. Best. Workout. Ever.

Have a great day!

I frequently find things don't go as planned. At least you were there for the important stuff - like friends who need you.

Another day, another dollar.

Yesterday went well. I didn't fall or break anything, no one at work hates me (for now, and, well, hardly anyone is here this week), and nothing befell me that would indicate that my streak of bad luck continues. Thank goodness! I can breathe a little easier today.

I made chicken and potatoes yesterday for dinner; today is going to be homemade pizza with tomato sauce, lots of sweet peppers, the last of my brussel sprouts, and mozza cheese. If only I had spinach and feta cheese to add to the mix, so delicious.

Very cold here this morning, minus 30 degrees celsius with windchill (that's minus 22 degrees fahrenheit) but it's supposed to warm up a little. I hope the wind doesn't pick up - that always makes things feel a lot colder.

Suprisingly enough, I haven't been planting myself in front of the t.v. every free minute I have. I've been feeling restless enough to get up and do things during commercial breaks. I'm even thinking about picking up a skipping rope to skip during commercials. Dude, commercials are long. Loooonnnnnggg. I could get a lot of skipping done.

So maybe tonight I will have to knock a few hours of tv off. I don't know. This "having tv again" thing isn't going the way i'd expected it to.

Umpqua on 12/11/2012:
Nom nom, your homemade pizza sounds wonderful. Your temps are crazy, I don't blame you for staying indoors, and skipping rope sounds like a great idea!

IndependentEm93 on 12/11/2012:
That is freezing! And commercials are way too long!

nunnermack on 12/11/2012:
Very happy to see that your day was a good one!!

That is a GREAT idea about skipping rope! I may have to use that myself but will do ab work!!! Thanks for the idea!!

It was a pretty awesome weekend compared to the workweek I had last week! I had a last ditch effort for Christmas shopping on Saturday and ended up coming home with more things for myself than for anyone else. I was going to go to a hockey game on Saturday night, but I ended up cuddling with my blankets on the couch all night instead. It was lovely.

I did some laundry and other housework on Sunday, wrapped a few more Christmas gifts, and basically watched movies all day. I needed the break desperately, so glad I got one.

Today begins with a few hiccups, but nothing life threatening and so it's all good.

For now.

I'm a realist, okay?

Yesterday evening I banged my head on the car door when I was trying to get into the car; this morning at work i've already done some damage by messing up a schedule. I finally had to completely start it all over again. I think I should stop touching things. Or maybe I should just stop moving altogether. Anyone want to be my personal "gopher" while I lay in bed all day like Brian Wilson did? I'd drive you crazy, I assure you. The bed sores would be worrisome though, so maybe I should just scratch this rotten idea.

I got my cable all hooked up last night, so this only attests the fact that I should be on home-rest. I'm all ready to go. I've even set up my pvr'ing schedule and should have around 47 hours of shows to watch by Monday. You think i'm going overboard? NAHHHHH...

I have to call my Dad and my Step-Mom tonight to catch up with them; I haven't talked to either of them for a couple of weeks now.

Which might interfere with my quality television time.

Ok, ok, in all seriousness, I am not THAT lazy.

In fact, i'm doing alright in terms of eating well and working out. I've been doing the 30 Day Shred and this week has been nothing short of stellar in regards to my nutrition.

Well, not counting the Christmas lunch yesterday which I DID NOT freeze to take to my Dad. The stuffing was glorious. You'll be happy to note that I only had one cabbage roll, and did not ask for any perogies. I had turkey, stuffing, & the cabbage roll, and I was STUFFED.

So really, I did pretty well, considering.

LOL, the home rest thing doesn't sound too terrible. Good work on the eating and workouts!

It's great you are getting in workouts and eating is going fairly well. Home-rest, I say go for it!

Well done! And a rest day with lots of tv viewing is what we need sometimes!

I'm still on a roll, except now i'm so crazed that i'm actually laughing at all the craziness going down.

My back feels better today finally, and the eye twitch is gone for now. I guess the moral of the story is that we need to laugh at ourselves to ease some of the stress in our lives. Well, i've been laughing non-stop since about 7:30 this morning, so by the end of the day I should be totally stress-free LOL. See, I just did it again.

I purchased a box of pizza crusts with which I plan to make my own pizzas instead of ordering greasy stuff when friends are over. I think they will certainly appreciate my healthier versions haha. LOL'd yet again.

Anyways, the box took up almost my entire fridge's freezer. I don't know why i'm telling you. I guess I thought it was funny; now it doesn't seem as funny as I once thought.

Work is having a christmas lunch today; for $8.55 you get turkey and stuffing, perogies and cabbage rolls. The works. I should buy it and freeze it until I go to Dad's for a visit - he would love it.

Oh, but I can't freeze anything else. No room.

LOL.
