legcramps - Thursday Jan 03, 2013

Weight: 166.0

Breakfast: mocha, apple

Lunch: quinoa, chicken, potatoes

Snack: yogurt

Dinner: salmon, potatoes, coleslaw

Exercise: 30 Day Shred

I did okay with eating yesterday, except that I had a few extra crackers and also some macaroni salad that was leftover. I know today will be better

I should clarify about the guy I golfed with last year... it was once. It was a set-up that I wasn't aware of and actually wasn't very happy about (not that I would have done much differently to prepare myself). I got kind of nervous and don't think I made a good first impression; we haven't talked since. So, no resuming of a relationship because there was no relationship LOL, I just want to feel it out and see if there is still any interest there. He seemed like a decent guy, maybe I just wasn't ready for him

A friend is coming over later tonight for 30 Day Shred. It will be her first time, so Jillian will have to be gentle with her!

Hope you have an awesome day today!

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

Have a great day, have fun with your workout with your friend... I always like it when I get to have a workout with a friend, makes it go so much quicker!

Happy New Year!! Enjoy your workout. I wish I had a friend to workout with. I can't discipline myself enough to do the DVD's much less, by myself. I bought an XBox workout for Kinect, and it is still in the package!! Show her how it's done!! Have a great weekend!

Stopped in to say hello! You are doing awesome! Hope your holidays were wonderful.

Happy New Year all; hope 2013 is treating you well so far!

Well I had four glorious days off, so I am struggling with being back at work this morning. I used the weekend to hang out at home, clean the place up (the house looks so good right now), prep some meals for the week, and visit a friend.

On Monday evening, New Year's Eve, I went with a friend of mine to a house party. No introductions were made so I didn't actually meet anyone new, and I only knew a handful of people there. The man that my friend wanted to set me up with was there... um.... with his girlfriend. Yeah. Talk about awkward. I can only assume that it's a new relationship and my friend knew nothing about it. LOL! There were a few good laughs throughout the night though, and I still managed to ring in the new year with a smile on my face.

Yesterday was a lazy day at home for the morning, then in the afternoon a hockey game (where I got a little fluttery when I saw a guy i'd gone out golfing with once last year. I shall now be going to more hockey games.), and then a New Year's dinner at the hospital with my friend's Dad who is still recovering.

Breakfast: mocha, apple

Lunch: quinoa, chicken, potatoes

Snack: yogurt

Dinner: leftover pork roast, yams, broccoli, potatoes and green beans

Snack: crackers and cheese (will need to PORTION these out so I don't go overboard)

Exercise: 30 minutes walking at the track

A couple other errands to run after work, some dishes to wash, and the rest of the evening can be spent doing nothing if that's what I want to do! LOVE IT.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 01/02/2013:
Happy New Year and I'm glad you had a nice NYE despite the complications ;P Good eating plan and continued well wishes for your Dad!

V on 01/02/2013:
Hahaha! More hockey games :) Happy to hear you had some smiles on NYE! Yeah i so hear you, 2 days back at work and i still feel exhausted..It would certainly help if I got my ass in bed at 10..I watche "The Beach"(Leonardo Di) til midnight and that is still better than my 2am bedtime on NYE..I did go to the store, I only purchased what I really needed and wait to shop on my usual Sunday morning..I didn't bargain shop this evening like I normally do since all I wanted to do was get home and it wasn't a shock that I spent just as much money this evening as I would for groceries all week.. LOL Have a great evening my friend <3

Happy New Year. Here's to more hockey games and maybe a resumed relationship with that guy??????

After work today, i'll have FOUR days off!!! Oh, that's so exciting.

Life is getting back to normal. I'm trying to keep my tree up and the house decorated until the new year, but it's difficult. I hate clutter, and I just want to pack it all up and store it away in the basement!

My plans for the weekend are pretty simple - I need to clean the kitchen and do some laundry, and sweep the floors. Then I have some meal planning to do, and groceries to buy. Then some cooking.

I've been invited to two new year's eve parties; one is being hosted by my mother, and one by a friend's cousin. I don't plan on going to my mother's party, simply because there will be no one there my age - but my friend's cousin and his friends are quite a bit younger so it's sort of the same problem. I know my friend is trying to set me up with someone who will likely be there, so I feel like I have to attend at least to meet him. It will surely still be more fun than sitting at home alone because I can't get enough people together for my own party!

<sigh> life is hard, sometimes. First World problems.

So those are my plans - what is everyone else doing for New Years?

horn_of_plenty on 12/30/2012:
me 2! four days is so nice! :-) just like you, i must do some cooking! There's so many stores around here, where prepared foods abound! all healthy things, like sauteed and roasted veggies, cooked chicken, everything really. but, sometimes it's nice to cook. If i had more time, I'd experiment more, like cooking meats, etc. but for now, when I set aside time, I cook veggies and usually that's it. everything else i eat is either packaged, prepared, or easy. i have settled it that way and realize that i don't mind it - since this is how i have planned my time. lol i am sure you understand. i do plan meals though - making sure usually that at least they have a good amount of vegetables (although sometimes i am just not in the mood!) carbs and protein...and a lil fat.

horn_of_plenty on 12/30/2012:
lol, for new year's, i'll be spending it with one of my close friends that i don't see as often, but she lives close. we'll chill in her condo and probably spend some time with her neighbors too. very low key - relaxing, and nice. I am not interested in a party as i don't have any recovery time lol!

V on 12/31/2012:
Hey there!! So to answer your question I am not doing much, pretty lame huh? LOL. I was going to at least hang with my friend at her place to ring in the new year but they scheduled me to work tomorrow morning :( Apparently management got a huge dose of just how lazy the wonderslungs are in my absence..Now they see why I am usually not in a good mood after my shifts..

OOh you must share the details as to how the "set up" went..Have fun this evening :) Happy New Year!!!

Schedule for the new year is made, just need to get it approved by my workout buddies:

Sundays off

Mondays DDR (Dance Dance Revolution)

Tuesdays & Wednesdays walk/run at track

Thursdays 30 Day Shred

Fridays I will do Insanity on my own

Saturdays will be People's Choice where we'll take turns picking out a workout.

Resolution Time!

In 2012,

I managed to pay off all my credit cards AND travel to Hungary for three weeks. This was a huge financial accomplishment for me!

I completed Insanity!

I took up golfing!

But I did not master my eating later in the year, and the last couple of months were a lot lazier in comparison to the beginning of the year.

In 2013,

I've taken steps to make more time for myself over the next few months. I'll have at least one extra day off work each month. Cripes, if i've been given the time to take, why not take it?

I've scheduled regular workouts and would like to stick to it for the whole year instead of just a few weeks or months.

I'd like to travel to New York with friends; the trip is being planned by a friend of mine.

I'd like to golf even more this year; my plan is to get a local membership and enter some tournaments in the area.

Hope you all had an enjoyable week, whether you celebrated or not! I had a great time at Grandma's, and Dad and I had a very nice visit as well. I was greatly satisfied to have a conversation with my brother and his family, and I even did a bit of travelling to see a good friend for a couple of hours. I've become used to sleeping in!

Just can't shake this cold. I've been sneezing all morning! It's making me feel grumpy :(

This is exactly how I feel!

I had a very low-key weekend; working today and then I have Christmas and Boxing Day off. Tonight i'm heading to Grandma's for supper, then tomorrow Dad is coming to visit. I decided to make a ham in the slow cooker (with a honey glaze yum), and i'll also make mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, steamed green beans, and hopefully some leftover cabbage rolls from Grandma's because I know my Dad loves those :)

Boxing Day i'm hoping to head to the city to see a friend to exchange gifts and maybe do some shopping. I need to stock up on my wrapping paper - all out this year!

Then it's back to work Thursday and Friday and then i'm totally OFF until January 2nd. Sweet. Dude.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

SEASON'S GREETINGS!

Yesterday I accomplished: work, deliver Survivor winnings, visit friend, deliver card.

I stayed at work all day, didn't head home after the meeting after all. I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup for lunch, and an advil, and I seemed well enough to stay after that.

Dinner was chicken and pasta, which i'm getting a little sick of might I add.

Tasks to accomplish:

- Work

Shovel deck and back pathway (expect this to still be on the list tomorrow)

- Have something other than chicken/pasta/potatoes for dinner

- Can I get a workout in? That would be nice.

Wallyball update: I will be playing with my team from last year; nights have been changed to Sundays, which is a little exciting because there's a Learn-To-Run Clinic starting on Monday evenings! I don't know yet if I am ready to tackle this, but I feel like I can't pass up the opportunity either.

If I do both of these things, i'll have a great routine/schedule for exercising for the next few months, adding insanity and 30DS workouts as well.

We'll see!

Yesterday I accomplished: work, wash dishes, wrap last of the Christmas gifts, texts and e-mail quality time.

My toenail colour is Concrete. Love it.

Dinner was chicken and potatoes.

Tasks to accomplish today:

- Work

Shovel deck and back pathway (expect this to still be on the list tomorrow)

- Take card of condolence to friend

- Pick up friend's Survivor pool winnings and deliver

I am getting a cold... no, no, i've GOT a cold. A big, nasty, snotty one.

I am only at work because I have to attend a lunch meeting, but odds are good that i'll be heading home right afterwards and going to sleep.

You know that feeling when you're right about to sneeze? Your eyes water and your nose starts to tingle.

Yes. Every. Five. Seconds.

grannyannie on 12/20/2012:
Concrete? Interesting. :) Oh no, not a cold! Hope it doesn't get bad and you get better quickly.

Umpqua on 12/20/2012:
Concrete sounds interesting - I just picked up some shimmery gray eyeshadow to go with my newish gray jeans and sweater. Silvery grays are definitely in this season. I share your pain with the sickness, hopefully it will pass soon!

Yesterday I accomplished: work, wash dishes, send last of the Christmas cards, & purchase last of the Christmas gifts, new toenail colour applied.

Dinner was chicken and pasta.

Tasks to accomplish today:

- Work

- Wrap last of gifts

Shovel deck and back pathway (snowing today)

- Send out some texts and e-mails regarding Christmas and wallyball.

I couldn't find enough people who wanted to play wallyball :( so i'm going to spare this year and see if I can't drum up some interest for a team next year instead.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 12/19/2012:
Sounds like got a lot done. :) What colour did you paint your toenails? I like to do mine when I'm going to be wearing sandals, which I will next month. I think I have still have some dark red somewhere in the house.

Yesterday I accomplished: work, dishes, clean kitchen, living room, sweep floors, call Dad, send a Christmas card off.

Dinner was homemade ham pizza with red pepper, spinach, and mozza cheese.

Tasks to accomplish today:

- Work

- Send off last of Christmas cards

- Purchase & wrap last of gifts

- Toenails! I need a new colour!!!

- Research turkey-cooking

- Shovel deck and back pathway

Dad is going to visit me on Christmas Day this year, so i'm planning to make a real Christmas meal for him. I'm not the best cook in the kitchen, but I want to do this and I think I can. So I have to research it tonight ;) and start taking notes haha! Turkey 101.

I wonder if mine will look this good...

Turkey is a good choice. I'm sure it will be great.

legcramps - Monday Dec 17, 2012

Weight: 166.0

Slightly relieved to be at work on this Monday morning; means the hectic weekend is over and I don't have to stare at all the chores that are at home waiting for me...

Which means I didn't get much accomplished over the weekend.

In fact, I haven't accomplished much at all lately.

But I made one awesome homemade pizza yesterday afternoon. I mean, this is serious business. It was delicious. A little pepperoni and ham to fatten it up, lots of sweet peppers, spinach, spicy sauce. Good stuff.

I have got to catch up on my to-do list this week; it's getting longer and longer each day and that's driving me bananas. I thought I would calm down on the weekend and get stuff done, but that didn't happen.

Sigh. I didn't bring lunch to work today, so i'll have to head to the cafeteria once again.

I think i'll be glad once this month is over. Unless January decides to be a b*tc$ as well.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 12/17/2012:
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, thinking of you and sending get well soon vibes as well as some rest for you.
