We got even more snow yesterday. Although it wasn't the storm that we had on the weekend, it was still snow. You know? Luckily, the temps have not gone down too much; we are sitting around -6 celsius (which would be around 21 fahrenheit) during the day, and this weekend will be even warmer. This is wonderful, however i'm driving into the city this weekend and I have a feeling the roads will be quite icy from the snow melting. Oh well, i'll just have to be extra careful.

Today i'm driving to the next town over to get some laundering done on my suede couch. A few too many stains were formed back when I still had my sick dog. She did a number on that couch, so i'm finally making plans to get it cleaned. Hopefully they will be able to remove most (if not all) of the stains.

I am currently in the middle of patching up a piece of wall between the living room and kitchen - mudding, sanding, and eventually painting.

AND I need to start a christmas groceries list in order to complete my christmas baking. I have some work to do this year; i'm making strudel from scratch! I'm hoping to get one batch done before the weekend begins. That means either tonight or tomorrow night.

Food for today - mocha, sandwich, snack (I have three choices at work - veggies and dip, an orange, or apples and granola), chicken in mushroom sauce over macaroni. Should be another good day of eating!

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

thenewMLE on 11/15/2012:
Have fun with the strudel!! I hope they get your couch clean. I had to finally give mine away - it was leather and my daughter's boxer ATE it as a puppy! It was only a year old (the sofa) and I was still paying on it when she must have lodged a toy or something to the back of the seat. Well she ate the leather away from the backing and for years I tried to patch and extend it so you couldn't see the stuffing and continued to shove the stuffing back in for 5 years and I finally paid the last payment and gave it away and treated myself to new one! No dogs allowed on it!! hahaha we will see how long that lasts!!

Good job on the eating today. Hope they can get the stains out of your couch. Brrr.... -6. We've gone back up to about 10 or 12C for a high. Are you making christmas dinner?

I had a good weekend, although I was snowed in on Saturday. Seriously, the snow was a third of the way up the back door! Good thing it was still fluffy when I attempted to shovel.

A friend sent her hubby over to blow out my driveway, so all I had to shovel was the deck, pathways in the front and back, and the front sidewalk. Still a bit of work, but I was very grateful I didn't have to do the driveway. That's a monster.

Walked for some groceries on Sunday, and yesterday over to a friend's for coffee. She sent me home with homemade soup that is delicious, so I have added it to my arsenal of ready-to-eat meals. I mean, i've got it all - pork, chicken, rice and soup. All I need to worry about is cooking up veggies for each dinner. There shouldn't be any bad decisions this week!

The streets seem to have been cleared over the weekend, so i'm going to attempt to get some errands done after work today, then keep up my cleaning spree at home. I still want to go through my bookcases and thin out all my books and knicknacks, and then maybe start bringing up the Christmas decorations from the basement. Always something to do!

Food for today - mocha; my breakfast was skipped, but I might have the apple and granola combo for a snack instead; sandwich for lunch; veggies and dip or an orange for snack; probably pork and rice with brussel sprouts for dinner.

I didn't do well yesterday with my water intake, but this is the first day in a long time that I didn't get my daily quota in so today i'm going to try to bring it up another notch. If all goes well, I should get over 3.5 litres in today (112oz). Wierd fact - my throat gets sore when I drink a lot of water. Does this happen to you too?

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

V on 11/13/2012:
Awesome job with planning/prepping your meals out for the week..It make life alot easier when you can grab and go ;) have a wonderful day!

liza36 on 11/14/2012:
Nice to have friends with the equipment for snow. Wish I had that. It's just me and a shovel! Thankfully no snow yet this season.

Great job on planning meals. I need to do that. I've been craving soup lately, so I'll plan to make some soon. Have a good day!

Not much going on in my world right now. I spent a quiet evening at home last night, which was a bit of a change from the last few weeks of running around doing things. It felt a little strange, but I got through it LOL! I'm planning to put a wallyball team in for the new year, so i'm busy recruiting people for it. If everything is as it seems, I only need to recruit one more person. I am eagerly looking forward to playing, so I really hope i'm able to put a team in, otherwise I don't know if anyone else will pick me up because it's held in another town and I don't know any of the other players.

The sandwich I made yesterday was absolutely devine. Some kind of spiced, sliced chicken I picked up at the deli, multigrain triangles, olive oil mayo, spinach, and mozzarella cheese. I made another for today's lunch - this time with some roast beef. I also had my blueberry muffin for breakfast, and I brought celery, carrots and an orange for snacks today.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

V on 11/09/2012:
Yes your sammie sounds deelish! Hope you can find one more person to complete your team. Have a great weekend my friend :)

biscottibody59 on 11/10/2012:
Yeah--that sandwich sounds great! Hope you're doing well this weekend!

Food for today: mocha, blueberry muffin, turkey sandwich, orange, another turkey sandwich for dinner, and maybe some ice cream for a snack.

Last night, I wound up picking up a book that was written about a girl who was kidnapped and held captive for over 7 years back in the 70's. It was a true account of her story, so I googled it, of course, and stayed up until midnight watching newscasts about her and the more recent case of Jaycee Dugard who had been held captive for 18 years. Frightening stuff.

I just couldn't wake up at my usual 6am this morning. I snoozed and snoozed and snoozed! The good news is that tomorrow is Friday and then I have three days off work. This weekend i'm hoping to get some cooking done so that I have meals planned out for the next week. I've been eating terribly, or not at all, during my dinners lately. Yesterday, I pre-made a sandwich so that there would be something ready to eat tonight. Standing over the stove each day after work having to make a meal is not working out for me this week, so it'll be nice to have something ready and not have thoughts of easy take-out food coursing through my brain ;)

Tonight i'll be setting up a grocery list for the weekend, and forming a list of things I would like to get done - we're supposed to get a load of snow after tomorrow, so I imagine a lot more shovelling will be happening in my near future. I went for a brisk walk last night and it felt great. I feel like I need to get out of the house more often.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

It felt like I got a better sleep in last night. I was tired after work, but forced myself to stay awake. And then, around 10pm, just when I decided to get ready for bed, I hit a second wave of alertness and couldn't for the life of me fall asleep.

It was past midnight the last time I looked at the clock on my bedside table. And then I woke up at 6am. But this is better than the last few days, and only once did I wake up in the middle of my sleep to use the washroom.

It's been busy at work, so not much time for chit-chat.

Food for today: coffee, blueberry muffin, sandwich, raw veggies, dinner tbd. Last night's dinner was a few crackers with cheese at a friend's, and some brown rice with feta once I got home. That is what happens when I don't plan out meals in advance. I hope to be home in time to thaw and cook a porkchop with some leftover brown rice and some spinach in the fridge. I need me some protein or i'll be doing this crash-and-burn dance all week.

I 'accidentally' fell asleep on the couch last night until 10pm. Whoops.

I think I am still fighting something off. Some kind of leftover gastro-intestinal thing. It's a lot of fun, in case you were wondering...

I don't have much to say today, since I didn't really do what i'd planned on doing yesterday. I didn't get a very good sleep in after my extended 'nap', so it's going to be another long day at work. Oh well. Some weeks are just a bust, no matter how you look at it!

There is nothing planned for the whole rest of the week, until the weekend where it's possible that Dad may come to visit. It would be nice to get in some workouts, but my head has to be in the right place, and right now it isn't. I dislike this part of myself - when I get sick, it's like pulling teeth to get anything done! Seriously, even walking seems like too much of an effort to put in LOL.

It might be in my best interest to do what I can tonight and go to bed early. A good night's rest would sure be helpful right about now.

Food for today - mocha, blueberry muffin, sandwich, orange, celery and carrots, dinner tbd.

Have a good day everyone!

Sorry that your gastro issues are still lurking about :( Hope you get a good night's rest this evening <3

biscottibody59 on 11/06/2012:
Just a thought here--please take it as you will.

I've really noticed lately how you're struggling with the possible aftereffects of not getting good sleep. I would strongly suggest you look into a sleep study. If not a full-blown overnight one, look into at least getting a dr to order a recording pulse oximeter to screen for it. (Essentially if you're not breathing while asleep, it will show in your blood oxygen level.) And there are also take-home ones that include a pulse oximeter that records and a way to record respirations at the least.

You sound like you're finding yourself coming and going much of the time! I feel for you and I just had to chime in--I'll now go and mind my own business:-)

I do hope you find the key to better sleep, at any rate! Have a good afternoon!

It was such a lovely, relaxing (for the most part) weekend. I want to re-live it all over again, please.

Can't do that?

Fine.

I was definitely feeling ill last week. I went to bed early on Thursday night and slept right through to 1pm on Friday afternoon! Wow. For the rest of the day I felt like I was in another dimension, my head was not on straight. So I layed low.

Saturday I was up mid-morning, scraping paint, mudding, shovelling snow and cleaning my pantry. Very fruitful day. In the evening, friends came over for coffee (okay, beer) and chit-chat.

On Sunday I had to shovel yet again, as it had snowed overnight. Late afternoon I had an event to go to, and had a great time doing some fundraising. When I got home around 9pm, I stayed up to watch Peace, Love and Misunderstanding. I had an extremely restless sleep (of course, since I had to be up for work this morning) and my eyes are bugging on me. One lid is sleepy and will only open halfway, and the other eye is bloodshot. I am hot, I know.

I don't have much on the agenda for today, so I might take a quick nap after work and then try to get an insanity workout in along with my regular stretches and pushups. It's a lot all at once, but i'm going to try my best to accomplish it. I always have more energy in the beginning of the week than at the end, regardless of what I do!

Food Today - mocha, coffee, water, broccoli soup, brown rice, brussel sprouts, green pepper, spinach, maybe some soy sauce. Trying to work my way through the fridge and cupboards so that I can start fresh when I get groceries LOL.

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

V on 11/05/2012:
Sorry your weekend wasn't long enough, it never is is it? What's up with your eyes? I hope you didn't get pink eye :( Glad your are feeling better, and got lots of rest and LOL @ having friends over for "coffee" ;)

ermagherd, it was so hard to get up this morning!

I need toothpicks to prop my eyes open.

Yesterday I flipped between handing out candy to the kids for halloween, cleaning the house, and watching scary movies. It was a very fun time and I had some pretty cute kids show up. Iron Man and Darth Vader tried to double-back for more candy, but nothing gets past me, man.

And then I put the radio on for awhile before going to sleep, and that kept me awake longer than usual, so i'm feeling a little like smoked turkey right now.

Really? Smoked turkey?

I also got my stretches and pushups in - and now I should go update my pushups logger.

Food yesterday - mocha, potato salad, pudding, chicken and spinach pizza (thin crust), chocolate

Food today (plan) - mocha, sandwich, chicken and spinach pizza (thin crust), pudding

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

Catching up on your last 3 posts - ouch on the oven cleaner....I have done that. I HATE that job. Even though I have a self-cleaning oven you still have to do the parts that don't clean themselves plus it takes FORever! I had to laugh at your comment about kids trying to double back for more candy!!

V on 11/01/2012:
Good job on getting your pushups and stretching done..Hopefully you didn't put the toothpicks in your eyes today sleepyhead ;) LOL.. Tomorrow is your favorite day of the week, I am so excited for you :)

My hot streak continued yesterday, even though I didn't do ALL of the things I wanted to. I ended up spending another hour after work, running around on errands and then taking a floor plant to my friend's new salon - yesterday was her first official day!

Once I got home I was pooped. I made a snack of cheese and crackers, and sat on the couch for a bit watching Ghost Whisperer. I tell 'ya, i'm in love with this show at the moment LOL. It's all I do. Well, besides farmville of course.

Tangent.

After my snack, I cleaned the oven. Then I cleaned the oven again. I kept rinsing it and rinsing it, hoping to get all the cleaner off so that I could make myself something for dinner. Would you believe I still haven't gotten it all off? That stuff is wicked. Plus, it burned the side of my finger. Now I have a big gash there, and it's all swollen and ouchy. Stupid cleaning. Why was cleaning invented anyways?

And yes, I DID wear rubber gloves. Mostly...

I wiped down a couple other things, did the dishes and started a load of laundry.

I am prepped for Hallowe'en today with lots of chocolate and I even carved a pumpkin for the front steps. Now if I could only find my Hallowe'en decorations that I OCD'd over and packed away somewhere where i'll never find them.

Perhaps today is sweep and dust day. And watch some more Ghost Whisperer day. And hand out candy to the kids day.

Did you know Hallowe'en is my favorite holiday EVER? I just love it!

I did a LOT yesterday. Even though I am sick, I just kept on going. I can hardly believe it myself LOL.

After work, I had to go to a few different stores for supplies and groceries, plus I went to the post to pick up the mail. When I got home about an hour later I unpacked all my purchases and set up the halloween candy in the front porch so that I could forget about it until tomorrow. Then I cleaned the microwave, and sprayed the oven with cleaner.

I had a little coughing fit after doing that, so I took a break to check facebook and start up an episode of Ghost Whisperer. After my break, I threw a load of laundry into the washer, finished up over 3 litres of water (new goal!) and did my stretches and my pushup challenge.

Then I took a warm bath, got changed into pj's, and prepped for the next day.

I don't know if I can push that out again today, but i'll try. All that's really on the list for today is to clean the couch and finish cleaning the oven and fan.

But I could really go for it and start cleaning the fridge and scraping the little section of paint that I need to re-do.

Oh and I should stop by the tire shop so they can re-torque the... tires? or whatever. And I should probably get gas seeing as I almost didn't make it to work this morning.

Also I have that stretching and pushup challenge on the agenda.

So I guess there's a lot to do today. Who knew?

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

I think getting Gas should be top of that to do list, well unless you wanna walk home from work ;) Seriously i hope you get all your needful things done today.. OH RYC Asylum is 30 days.. Most of the classes are 60 minutes and "Championship Day"( kinda like game day) is EVERY Saturday with a "fit test" at the END(yes every Saturday).. Shaun T is off his friggin rocker and i LOVE it..

grannyannie on 10/30/2012:
Busy busy! Ditto for getting gas! If you're still sick and coughing don't overdo. My coughing fits have felt like a workout! Glad they are almost done.
