Back from holidays and man do I wish I didn't have to head back to work tomorrow LOL! I feel so happy and relaxed. Can't wait to retire if this is how i'll feel :) Only 20-some years to go...

Already starting to pack for the Hungary trip in August; I have such a tiny carry-on and since that's all i'm taking besides a day pack, it's going to be a hard lesson in travelling light. But it's better than having to lug around an oversize suitcase everywhere we go! It's hard to decide what is essential and what isn't though.

Month 2 of Insanity starts tomorrow AM. I've got my clothes laid out, my HRM charging, and the Glutamine ready to suck back!

Some hard, long rounds of golf lately have made the muscles in my upper arms stand to attention. It's doing nothing for my cardiovascular endurance, but the pushups in Insanity should be a little easier for me with the popeye arms!

I've been all about the salads lately. Cold wild rice salad with raw veggies, fresh fruit salads, tossed salads with raw veggies... i'm trying hard to get over the holiday eating plan. That plan included fresh, homemade cinnamon buns. No more of that, gotta get my head back in the game! Though I am still enjoying creamer in my coffee ;) for some reason, this has been the hardest holiday habit to break.

See you tomorrow!

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

I shall think of you when I am doing the ski abs, pushup jacks, in and out abs and knee to oblique moves..I am so excited for some yelling at Shaun T, he is far too nice during recovery week ;) LOL Have a good one girl!

Have a great day!

hollybelle on 07/08/2012:
Wow clothes laid out for workout tomorrow! Why didn't I think of that? It would save me time deciding what to wear and FiNDING it early in the morning or after work. Of course my usual outfit for workout is my cycling togs which I have to wash everyday. Great work on the Insanity! I wish I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow either. I've been off 5 days!

I am so READY for this week to be over already.

Did I tell you I have ALL next week off?

I am all packed and ready to go to the reunion; I am also taking my golf clubs.

And my runners.

Did you know I have ALL next week off?

And i'm taking the Insanity DVDs. I think my cousin will want to try them; perhaps we'll do a few classes together.

I am pretty much caught up at work (knock on wood); all projects are either done or stalled by someone else.

And by the way, i'm taking ALL next week off. DUDE.

grannyannie on 06/29/2012:
Haha! Enjoy your week off! Good for you taking your DVDs to work out.

Wierd dream last night (or early this morning)... I wonder if it was from something I ate for dinner. That seems to happen when I eat spicier foods, but dinner last night was roasted chicken, carrots, and a cabbage roll, so who knows.

I haven't been able to take a breath until now, let alone update dd's! What a crazy day!

I had so much to do this morning at work; prep for the bbq plus I had hundreds of questions railed at me all at once (not really, but close); I am now SO SO SO appreciative of people who are willing and able to show initiative in getting things done. I felt like yelling out "gosh, I don't care HOW you do it, just get it done!" a few times LOL.

Then I had an appointment with the Travel Clinic's Health Nurse to start getting the shots i'll need for my upcoming trip. She rooked me into getting an extra shot of MMR (mumps, measles and rabies vaccine), so my left arm is feeling pretty sensitive right now! She also gave me loads of information on other vaccines I should think about getting in the next year or so, travel tips and information on Hungary. She was almost as helpful as a travel agent would be ;)

With the amount of vaccine and meds flowing through my viens right now, I could pose as superwoman and take out all the evil villains. If you need me, just send a sticky note through cyberspace and i'll be there in a flash (but only if it's lightening; if it isn't it might take me a few moments longer via superbus). Apparently my dry humour came back today.

When I got back to work, I had another project lined up for me...

I don't care though, because after tomorrow, i'll be off for a WHOLE WEEK!

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

I bought a huge basket of cherries from the fruit truck yesterday, thinking my family would be ALL OVER IT. Unfortunately, my uncle's wife decided he didn't need all that sugar LOL! So they took about a third of the basket and made me take the rest home.

I put a star-quality effort into eating as much as I could last night ;) Hey, it's fruit! It's good for you!

And then I brought it to work. It's sitting lonely on the counter, waiting for someone to eat it. What a waste of $20! If all I had to eat was cherries, i'd be a happy camper. I guess not everyone has the same mentality ;) Oh well, whatever I don't get through i'll take to the reunion; i'm sure they'll eat it up. I hope.

We had a big thunderstorm last night. I shut off all the lights in the house, pulled a chair to the middle of the room, and watched out the window. The light show was amazing, pure bright light flashing away. The thunder scared the bejeebus out of me while I was folding laundry. I hear there was a bit of damage to rural areas around our town; thankfully no real damage to me or mine!

Hope you're ok V! Saw some video of St. Petersburg and my heart dropped into my stomach :(

Slo-pitch tonight in gusting winds. Should be fun.

It's so frustrating when stuff just doesn't work out - work project yesterday and cherries - I hope they will get consumed! I haven't had any good ones this year, yet. I love them. This year "Our" Blackberries (you may remember we can pick free up in the park)are not very good. It has been much too dry for wild blackberries and I'll miss making my "free" blackberry cobbler. Hang in there LC!

sweetpea1977 on 06/27/2012:
If I were in your cherry situation, I'd freeze a large portion of them so I could enjoy them later in the year. That or bake a giant pie with them...I guarantee people would eat them then!

Glad you didnt get any damage from the storm!

POKER_PAID on 06/27/2012:
I'd eat all the cherries! I love fresh cherries :-) Great choice

V on 06/27/2012:
Hello my friend :) All is well here in my neck of the woods..I am so lucky that I am in a high elevation area as far as flooding goes and avoided the numerous tornadoes.. I am so happy to hear that you didn't substain damage in the storms.. I LOVE cherries Have fun and stay safe at slo pitch hopefully it is not too windy <3

thenewMLE on 06/28/2012:
I would eat all the cherries too!!! Funny story, last year I was cooking dinner for my parents and they eat VERY healthy but love dessert. So I went to Whole Foods and they had beautiful cherries for 6.99 - it looked like a 3 pound bag so I grabbed them and decided to buy a nice Manchego cheese and a dessert wine to serve with the cherries. Well, when I checked out the cherries were 24.00!!!! they were 6.99 PER POUND! (I didn't have my glasses on!!) So that made the cherries more expensive than the wine and cheese!!! hahahaha But they loved it and was so impressed that I was capable of a healthy dessert!! Have a great day!!

My head is all over the place this week; i'll be lucky if I manage to do everything that needs to be done before the family reunion this weekend. I've got camping brain and I can't get rid of it!!!

Breakfast - coffee, yogurt with blueberries and granola

Lunch - leftover burger from yesterday; my boss took me out for lunch!

Afternoon - Hunt's pudding pack, cookies and cream. Yum.

Dinner - Grandma's house! My uncle is in town with his family; can't wait to see them! And the reunion weekend begins!

Terrible day yesterday every which way I look at it. Lost three hours on a work project only to have someone 'cast' it aside as an afterthought. Lost my mind for a few minutes, and now all is back in order. I was not impressed. It is not a good idea to get me worked up right now!

I can feel myself slowly going into panic mode. Trying my best to slow down and let it wash over me like water. Need to start prioritizing in order to get the important things done. Makes me tired just thinking about it all; all the house and yard work, reunion, big trip and everything I need to do before these things happen. Like buying colorful nail polish so I can be the awesome auntie to my nieces this weekend :) THAT is very important ;)

Okay, off to make a list. Wish me luck!

I bet you wanted to put some bailey's in your coffee this morning didn't cha? It is not the same but did you know that there is a Bailey's flavored creamer out there? I think International Coffee makes it, not that it would be exactly the same as the real thing..LOL i used to work at a bar that had mandatory "attitude adjustment" drink of our choice during the shift.. I think this should be implemented more!!It def made life a little better for the customers ;) LOL Hope the rest of your evening is stress free. no need to panic <3

Weekend was great; awesome weather, good conversation, enough compromising situations to remember for a lifetime.

Got TOM. yay. I knew there was a reason for my never-ending hunger.

Ate well. Saturday's dinner = ate too well. Went for walks, layed on the beach, sweated out 4 litres of fluid just "sitting around" at the campsite. It was a good weekend ;)

It's back to the grind today and the rest of this week, which is fine because I need a routine back. I didn't know what to do with myself this morning before work ;) I wanted to pour myself a little coffee and bailey's and sit by the campfire with my breakfast of yogurt and granola!

I'm trying to stay positive through TOM, but it's difficult. I kind of want to tear everyone's head off today. I'm going to call right now and see about going back on the depo shot...

...done. Tomorrow afternoon i'll be pain-free once again.

Another busy week of work ahead of me! I don't know why June is the month for dumping meetings and other events into. This week is particularly busy with different events each day at our Catholic hospital, a hospital re-dedication and Chapel on Wednesday, and a staff BBQ on Thursday.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends!

Welcome back!! Yeah you know you are still in vacay mode when you are entertaining thoughts of having a "stiff " coffee with breakfast..LOl Glad to hear you had such a great time this weekend.. BTW TOM is here for me too, I was a very angry person yesterday and it was a good thing that I didn't have interaction with many people, it would have been ugly :( So you are going back to the shot? I gained so much weight from it in the past so people just have to deal with my toxic anger every month or so.. Hope you had a good day my friend <3

Countdown to the weekend began yesterday; only 1/2 day of work left, and then i'm free for three days! I really shouldn't be so excited to get out of here, since I DO like my job, but it's time for a break! And a CAMPING one!!!

I'm totally super excited.

I had a terrible day of eating yesterday. Ok, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I went over my calories by around 600. It was a hungry day! I had a muffin for breakfast, blueberries throughout the morning, a turkey sandwich and 1/2 cup potato salad for lunch, pudding in the afternoon, a filling meal of scalloped potatoes, mixed veggies, 1/2 slice ham, 1 cabbage roll AND strawberry shortcake dessert at an evening meeting I attended, AND THEN I made some baked chicken with dill dip later last night once I was at home OMG! There was a lot of protein in my day (I almost doubled what I usually get) so i'm not really sure what was up with the whole FEED ME A FREAKIN HORSE AND I'LL EAT IT ALL thing. Maybe TOM is coming. Yay.

A few more things to pack for the trip, and tonight I want to get the lawn cut if the weather stays as SUNNY as it is today! THANKS V for sending some sun my way! Just the perfect amount!

I doubt i'll be posting here over the weekend, talk to you all on Monday and have a GREAT weekend!

liza36 on 06/21/2012:
Great advice on the guy...I tend to over analyze and there's simply no need to.

I may be doing the shorts thing too. Why does bathing suit shopping have to be such torture?

Have fun this weekend.

You are welcome and i promise for a sunny trip too ;) Hey we all have our days that we feel like we can't get enough to eat, mine is usually cardio related! Have a fantastic trip <3

I've been going steady since the end of the weekend; meetings everyday, always something to get done after work, blah-d-blah-blah. And then BOOM, it's Wednesday.

I am almost packed for the annual Girl's camping trip this weekend; prepped some food last night with a friend. We're making pork chops with tossed salad, baked potato and cooked carrots for Friday's dinner, and chicken with the same sides for Saturday's. Yes, we're camping ;) I'm bringing yogurt, crackers and mozza cheese for snacks throughout the weekend, and we have a big tray of fruit to share. I think this is the healthiest camping weekend EVER. Love it!

Other than that, I am just trying to get through the workweek. It's been doing nothing but raining here again; so depressing already! I hope the sun comes out soon.

Your camping food sounds like my camping food. I make it all before - mostly and re-heat it in the woods. I love to camp and can "rough it" if the rest of the group is up for it!

sweetpea1977 on 06/20/2012:
Nice spread for camping! :)

I hope the weather clears up in time for your fun weekend!

V on 06/20/2012:
Nice!! hey Can I come too? I might be able to meet ya since it is supposed to rain the ENTIRE rest of the week til next week :( RYC I will send the warmth to you ASAP <3 I am sure you will have a blast this weekend!

Pretty good weekend...

Friday night I got together with friends to hash out a plan for camping this weekend; I think it went pretty well and should be an enjoyable weekend even if it rains the whole time ;)

Saturday was spent at the beach. It was pretty cloudy, but there were some sunny moments and it was just nice to relax with a few drinks and a lot of laughter and fun.

I went into the city on Sunday to visit Dad for Father's Day. He's been doing well (knock on wood) and seemed to be in good spirits, considering everything he's been through this past half-year. I'm very happy to see him feeling and looking better.

Got caught in a rainstorm on the way home, and it's raining again this morning. Oy! I prayed to Grandpa before bed last night, asking him to put in a good word to Mother Nature regarding the weather ;) it would sure be nice to have a day or two of warmth, seeing as it's June and all.

No plans for tonight, so I think I will do a few things and call it an early night. The week at work is incredibly busy, with meetings everyday until Friday! It's going to be crazy; will be so nice to have Friday off and spend the weekend away.

Other news - I see a few plants coming up in my garden ALREADY! That's what a lot of rain will do, I guess. I think it's either potatoes or green beans; I haven't looked closely since it's all mud in there right now. I need to throw down some grass cuttings so that I can walk through and pick some weeds. Oh, I guess I just found something to do tonight ;)

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 11 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 06/18/2012:
Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend and good news on your garden! I've always wanted to grow potatoes, maybe next year I'll try it :)

See there is always something to do but the question is do we really wanna?? LOL I hope you had a good day! How exciting, a weekend camping trip :)
