Max Recovery... insert insane giggling here...

I really don't know what part of this class has to do with recovery lol!

My greatest love, pushups, were prevalent once again this morning. Pushups, planks. Every part of my body took a beating. It was really hard to keep up/finish the exercise segments in their entirety, but i'm hoping that the further into month 2 I get, the easier these workouts will become.

I played slo-pitch last night; another win on the books and two pretty sweet hits by moi. One hard line drive along the first base line (i'm an off-field single hitter), and then I cranked one past the center and left-fielders. That one surprised me, but it was a pitch I couldn't resist and I absolutely kicked the snot out of the ball.

I haven't been wearing my cleats when I play, and last night I was reminded of how bad of an idea that is. I nearly wiped out on the shale twice wearing my cutting-the-grass sneakers.

Snuck out of the dugout after the game while my team stayed behind to shoot the breeze, went home and ate a quick succession of pb sandwiches. Unsure how exactly that happened as my memory is so foggy. With that, and a helping of Doritos, my day wasn't the best, eating-wise.

Today I have to take care of some housekeeping items. The weather was iffy yesterday with clouds rolling in, so I didn't drive into the city. It has to be done today after work. And then I need to purchase tickets for Russell Peters. He'll be coming to a city near me in September and I can't wait!!! I hope they're not sold out yet. Has anyone seen this comedian? I have two of his DVDs; he is hilarious!

The problem is Shaun has no clue what "recovery" means..LOL we sill def have huge ass arms though, they will call us the "Tricep Twins" ;) LOL That class was redonkulous and i will def be better prepped next week, ya could have warned me..Hahahah

Max Plyo and Cardio Conditioning classes are done, and my calves are starting to feel the burn.

Also, I almost threw up during the conditioning class.

But I feel ok now...

I have a busy day ahead of me... I need to complete the process for my international driver's license, pick up a few items from Giant Tiger, and play slo-pitch tonight. There's also another bbq with friends, but i'm not too keen on going. There's this guy, and he keeps txting and asking 15 million questions and is starting to really annoy me. I am too independent and have a low tolerance for people who come across as 'needy'. So I think I will avoid that tonight.

Avoidance breeds unfamiliarity, if you weren't sure where I was going with that.

We still have a heat-wave going on here; unfortunately i've run out of summery clothes, which necessitates the trip into the city to Giant Tiger to pick up a few pairs of capris. Hopefully i'll get lucky and find some nicer pairs; you never know what's going to be in stock...

Today i'm wearing heavy black dress pants. Ugh.

The positive about that is at least it's covering my hairy legs. Time for a leg waxing night!

Had a great day yesterday all told; how easily I forget how exercise brings about these highly energetic, feel-good moods...

Breakfast - Glutamine, smoothie; coffee

Lunch - potatoes and ham

Afternoon - Yogurt and fresh fruit

Dinner - chicken fajita and spicy potato wedges (PS SPICY) (PSS VERY SPICY) (AKA HOLY SH*T!)

Other - 2 glasses pinot grigio, 1.5 litres water

Evening - peanut butter sandwich

I need to get more veggies in. This is pretty good though, considering last week it was all about the cinammon buns, toast and lasagna! Oh, those were the days!

Max Plyometrics today! I, um, slept in this morning, so i'll be doing the class this evening. I had a hard time falling asleep last night - might have been the wine LOL.

Weee...eew! I am feeling pumped from the Insanity Max class this morning! Unfortunately, I snoozed a little too long and had to rush to make it to work in time; not a great way to start the workday, but i'll get through it anyways ;)

I was covered in sweat once my workout was over; it look a while (even with a cool shower) to get my body temp back to normal. It doesn't help that today is the hottest summer day so far in 2012! I think it was over 30 degrees (celsius) even before 8am! A scorcher! Would be a great day to golf ;) too bad I have to work.

I have a myriad of things to get done at work; how the work piles up when there's no one there to do it! I'm not quite feeling like getting back into the groove of things, but i'm trying to stay focused and get some things off my desk. Hopefully I won't feel the need for an afternoon nap and will be able to burn through the workday quickly in order to get myself back home where I also have a to-do list to accomplish.

Better get at it then! Have a great day everyone :O)

Yay! Good job on the Insanity! When I ride my bike in hot weather like we have been having I cannot cool down either. Good thing is heavy "after burn" burns calories, I think!

I am def NOT hitting snooze more than twice tomorrow..I usually wait til I stop sweating before I hop in the shower..That means I have to be up and working out before 7..I am going to shoot for 6:45 start time..Sounds good right?? Back from holidays and man do I wish I didn't have to head back to work tomorrow LOL! I feel so happy and relaxed. Can't wait to retire if this is how i'll feel :) Only 20-some years to go...

Already starting to pack for the Hungary trip in August; I have such a tiny carry-on and since that's all i'm taking besides a day pack, it's going to be a hard lesson in travelling light. But it's better than having to lug around an oversize suitcase everywhere we go! It's hard to decide what is essential and what isn't though.

Month 2 of Insanity starts tomorrow AM. I've got my clothes laid out, my HRM charging, and the Glutamine ready to suck back!

Some hard, long rounds of golf lately have made the muscles in my upper arms stand to attention. It's doing nothing for my cardiovascular endurance, but the pushups in Insanity should be a little easier for me with the popeye arms!

I've been all about the salads lately. Cold wild rice salad with raw veggies, fresh fruit salads, tossed salads with raw veggies... i'm trying hard to get over the holiday eating plan. That plan included fresh, homemade cinnamon buns. No more of that, gotta get my head back in the game! Though I am still enjoying creamer in my coffee ;) for some reason, this has been the hardest holiday habit to break.

Wow clothes laid out for workout tomorrow! Why didn't I think of that? It would save me time deciding what to wear and FiNDING it early in the morning or after work. Of course my usual outfit for workout is my cycling togs which I have to wash everyday. Great work on the Insanity! I wish I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow either. I've been off 5 days!

I am pretty much caught up at work (knock on wood); all projects are either done or stalled by someone else.

Wierd dream last night (or early this morning)... I wonder if it was from something I ate for dinner. That seems to happen when I eat spicier foods, but dinner last night was roasted chicken, carrots, and a cabbage roll, so who knows.

I haven't been able to take a breath until now, let alone update dd's! What a crazy day!

I had so much to do this morning at work; prep for the bbq plus I had hundreds of questions railed at me all at once (not really, but close); I am now SO SO SO appreciative of people who are willing and able to show initiative in getting things done. I felt like yelling out "gosh, I don't care HOW you do it, just get it done!" a few times LOL.

Then I had an appointment with the Travel Clinic's Health Nurse to start getting the shots i'll need for my upcoming trip. She rooked me into getting an extra shot of MMR (mumps, measles and rabies vaccine), so my left arm is feeling pretty sensitive right now! She also gave me loads of information on other vaccines I should think about getting in the next year or so, travel tips and information on Hungary. She was almost as helpful as a travel agent would be ;)

With the amount of vaccine and meds flowing through my viens right now, I could pose as superwoman and take out all the evil villains. If you need me, just send a sticky note through cyberspace and i'll be there in a flash (but only if it's lightening; if it isn't it might take me a few moments longer via superbus). Apparently my dry humour came back today.

When I got back to work, I had another project lined up for me...

I don't care though, because after tomorrow, i'll be off for a WHOLE WEEK!

I bought a huge basket of cherries from the fruit truck yesterday, thinking my family would be ALL OVER IT. Unfortunately, my uncle's wife decided he didn't need all that sugar LOL! So they took about a third of the basket and made me take the rest home.

I put a star-quality effort into eating as much as I could last night ;) Hey, it's fruit! It's good for you!

And then I brought it to work. It's sitting lonely on the counter, waiting for someone to eat it. What a waste of $20! If all I had to eat was cherries, i'd be a happy camper. I guess not everyone has the same mentality ;) Oh well, whatever I don't get through i'll take to the reunion; i'm sure they'll eat it up. I hope.

We had a big thunderstorm last night. I shut off all the lights in the house, pulled a chair to the middle of the room, and watched out the window. The light show was amazing, pure bright light flashing away. The thunder scared the bejeebus out of me while I was folding laundry. I hear there was a bit of damage to rural areas around our town; thankfully no real damage to me or mine!

Hope you're ok V! Saw some video of St. Petersburg and my heart dropped into my stomach :(

Slo-pitch tonight in gusting winds. Should be fun.

It's so frustrating when stuff just doesn't work out - work project yesterday and cherries - I hope they will get consumed! I haven't had any good ones this year, yet. I love them. This year "Our" Blackberries (you may remember we can pick free up in the park)are not very good. It has been much too dry for wild blackberries and I'll miss making my "free" blackberry cobbler. Hang in there LC!

If I were in your cherry situation, I'd freeze a large portion of them so I could enjoy them later in the year. That or bake a giant pie with them...I guarantee people would eat them then!

Hello my friend :) All is well here in my neck of the woods..I am so lucky that I am in a high elevation area as far as flooding goes and avoided the numerous tornadoes.. I am so happy to hear that you didn't substain damage in the storms.. I LOVE cherries Have fun and stay safe at slo pitch hopefully it is not too windy <3

I would eat all the cherries too!!! Funny story, last year I was cooking dinner for my parents and they eat VERY healthy but love dessert. So I went to Whole Foods and they had beautiful cherries for 6.99 - it looked like a 3 pound bag so I grabbed them and decided to buy a nice Manchego cheese and a dessert wine to serve with the cherries. Well, when I checked out the cherries were 24.00!!!! they were 6.99 PER POUND! (I didn't have my glasses on!!) So that made the cherries more expensive than the wine and cheese!!! hahahaha But they loved it and was so impressed that I was capable of a healthy dessert!! Have a great day!!

My head is all over the place this week; i'll be lucky if I manage to do everything that needs to be done before the family reunion this weekend. I've got camping brain and I can't get rid of it!!!

Breakfast - coffee, yogurt with blueberries and granola

Lunch - leftover burger from yesterday; my boss took me out for lunch!

Afternoon - Hunt's pudding pack, cookies and cream. Yum.

Dinner - Grandma's house! My uncle is in town with his family; can't wait to see them! And the reunion weekend begins!

Terrible day yesterday every which way I look at it. Lost three hours on a work project only to have someone 'cast' it aside as an afterthought. Lost my mind for a few minutes, and now all is back in order. I was not impressed. It is not a good idea to get me worked up right now!

I can feel myself slowly going into panic mode. Trying my best to slow down and let it wash over me like water. Need to start prioritizing in order to get the important things done. Makes me tired just thinking about it all; all the house and yard work, reunion, big trip and everything I need to do before these things happen. Like buying colorful nail polish so I can be the awesome auntie to my nieces this weekend :) THAT is very important ;)

Okay, off to make a list. Wish me luck!

I bet you wanted to put some bailey's in your coffee this morning didn't cha? It is not the same but did you know that there is a Bailey's flavored creamer out there? I think International Coffee makes it, not that it would be exactly the same as the real thing..LOL i used to work at a bar that had mandatory "attitude adjustment" drink of our choice during the shift.. I think this should be implemented more!!It def made life a little better for the customers ;) LOL Hope the rest of your evening is stress free. no need to panic <3
