I managed to rake a 12 x 12 section of lawn in the front yard so far today. I'll need to allocate more time towards raking... it's apparently exhausting work.

I washed all the floors and finished up most of the laundry, washed walls and cupboards in the kitchen, window frames, vacuumed upstairs... all that's left is the yard and it's probably going to take me a lot longer than I figured. Stupid leaves.

I'm taking a break and we'll see how long I drag it out ;)

Yesterday we had ball practice for 1.5 hours, and I am soooorrrreee. This morning I went for a 40 minute run with a running buddy, and I am now even more soooorrrreee. Yes, I think a break is just the ticket.

I was up bright and early this morning to head in to work for a half day. I have a meeting coming up at lunchtime, and then i'm off to wash floors back at home!

Who would've thought I would be busier on holidays than when i'm working...

I'm going to try and fit in a walk with Dog this afternoon. Gotta get ready for the 5k at the end of May! Even if I have to walk most of it, I still want to be able to finish it!

The dog's name is Dog? :) My uncle (car mechanic) had a cat named Clutch... lol. And then me and my friends at the univ adopted a cat while living together in an apartment, and nobody could come forward with a name everyone'd like so he became the "Cat". He's a stupid, nervous type, doesn't like to be fondled, etc... dunno why, no one ever hurt him, but well... animals! One can never know with them.

On a good note - my run for the day is complete, Dog's exercise is complete, and i'm feeling alright! Also, I bought a foam roller and it arrived today so I tried it out... Owwwie, but I think it'll help with the tight calf muscles. All's good!

Oh I hate spring cleaning. I had to do it last weekend. I threw out so much trash the entire vestibule was filled with my bags. But, it's great to do it!!!

I got up early on Monday to drive my aunt into the city for her return flight home. It took almost all day and when I got back home, I crashed for a few hours ;) and was pretty much done for the rest of the night.

Today I slept in for the first time since my holidays started on Friday! I didn't even try to get out of bed until 9:30 :)

Of course, that means i've been slightly comatose all day long, but I still managed to take out the garbage, do up some dishes, and I got a great amount of laundry done - spring cleaning begins!

I have my To-Do list ready for tomorrow, and i'm hoping to start the day off right with a run. The other big job on the list? Washing walls. Woohoo! LOL.

I'm going to lay back and relax tonight with a movie and some water. And a side of Reese's peanut butter scented lip gloss.

Hope you enjoy your run! You are definitely stronger than I am! I don't think I could "handle" Reese's flavored lip gloss just yet! After applying it, I'd probably wind up scouring the house for a piece of Halloween candy that miraculously got shuffled to the back of a drawer, has it's wrapper ripped to shreds with unidentifiable particles stuck to it... (yes - I have issues!!). ;c)

So Thursday after work I was walking home and decided to stop in at my grandma's. When I got inside, I felt really dizzy and disoriented, so I sat for a bit and ate an orange. I think it happened because I missed having an afternoon snack, can't figure any other reason for feeling that way. Anyhow, I spent the evening resting.

Friday morning I went for a walk with Dog, then did another Shred workout! Woohoo for me!

This morning I was off for another walk. This time, I went with my aunt who's in town for the weekend. We walked for over an hour. Now I need to shower and get my butt to grandma's for breakfast! My aunt is making quiche for everyone; she uses egg whites and lots of veggies. Can't wait!

It's snowing again here :( boo. This weather is frustrating. The ditches are all flowing with water; the lakes are overflowing, some highways are closed due to flooding... what a mess. But i'm just gonna eat some quiche and forgetaboutit!

I need to figure out a way to not be soooooo tyyyyrrrrred at the end of the workday.  Yesterday I got home from work and just wanted to sleep.  I struggled to make dinner for myself, struggled to clean up after myself.  It was all a gigantic struggle so I made an executive decision to hit the pillows around 9pm.  I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.  So up to bed I went, snuggled in under the covers and... couldn't sleep.  ARGH.  I guess by that time, my body had gotten a second wind.  I did finally manage to fall asleep, and got a good night's rest.

Woke up at 6:30am this morning.  Slithered out of bed and argued with Dog for a few minutes about her getting under my feet and tripping me up all the time.  I should set up a video cam in my house so that you can see how much I talk to Dog.  All the time.  Got dressed to do the Shred DVD when I realized that I was going to be walking to work today.  So instead of doing the Shred DVD and wearing myself out before I even started walking, I decided to do a quick workout I found on You Tube, and then a longer ab routine.  Whew, that You Tube workout was not easy - and it only took me 9 minutes!  If I remember, i'll post it on the FB page.

The walk to work this morning was unreasonably cold and windy.  Not fair.  April 14th, Mother Nature.  April 14th.  The water levels seem to be alright so far where I live, the basement is still dry and the streets aren't holding much water.  I don't really know where it's going, so that concerns me a bit.  There's still a level of water in the ground as well - can't wait until that starts to melt too.

I am drinking coffee in order to keep myself warm because otherwise this might be a long day of sitting at my desk shivering uncontrollably.

I would have taken a picture of my breakfast this morning, but it's all gone.  That was a record-breaking cereal eating finish time.  Thank goodness it's grocery day today after work, because I have resorted to adding far more bran in my cereal than I prefer.  We can all imagine how that might be affecting my days.

I brought the last of my cod and rice concoction for lunch today.  I dunno what dinner will be, maybe a mutt sandwich to use up the rest of the food in the fridge.  I have to clean out the fridge to make room for the fresh stuff!  An orange and a granola bar for snacks, and that rounds out my day!  Happy Thursday All!  Today is my Friday!

I think that 9pm is a perfectly reasonable time to go to bed. It is the usual time I am asleep by. If the dog needs company he can just dream. I agree with you about Mother Nature, it should be warmer where you are by now. Send a letter, I will try and find it and post the address!!!!! You would be amazed at the extra boost of energy that an AM sweatty cardio will give ya!! Woohoo! In RYC indeed the # after each class is the eta of each Turbo :) pictures will come in 3 weeks after turbo prep graduation!!! So you will just have to WAIT :P LOL love ya :)

That's what I did yesterday morning before work. I SHREDDED! I ACTUALLY SHREDDED!

And, needless to say, it kicked my butt.

But i'm glad I did it; once I got home from work it was chaos trying to get Dog fed and emptied, check the water levels in the basement, send off some e-mails, then walk to a nearby restaurant to meet friends for... ok, guess... ok fine I won't make you wait...

SUSHI!

I tried out the Dragon Roll (california roll with BBQ eel). oh yum. new fav! I also had kappa roll, inagi roll and dynamite roll. That's a lotta rolls, but I would guess no more than 500 calories altogether. And for dessert a deep fried ice cream scoop. I know, I know. See the drool running down my face? It was a treat that I usually get for dessert when I eat sushi. I had to, it's tradition :)

Then I had an evening meeting that lasted until 9pm. By the time I got back home, I was ready for bed. This morning I woke up around 6:30am, and managed to shove myself out of bed. I debated whether to SHRED again or do something else. Without really making a decision (my mind just does not work that early in the morning), I started putting on my outdoor workout clothes, so I decided I might as well go for a jog. I knew it wouldn't be a long one because I was already falling behind schedule and I wasn't even out the door yet. Just making the decision to run took me 15 minutes. I did some dynamic stretching to warm up, then headed out for a quick 1.25 mile run. It was lovely, but I need to stretch. My left calf muscles huuuurrrrrt.

Update*: I also did my normal ab routine, forgot to mention.

And now to face another workday. Only two more and then i'm off on vacation for a week!

Pitter patter.

Update *: Also forgot to mention that the south part of my province is expecting extremely high levels of flooding. Already some highways are closed due to flooding.

Yesterday was not a good day, eating-wise. I sort of binged. I hope it's over with now. 

I believe it all comes down to emotional stress. I had a lot of running around to do after work yesterday and I forgot to do a couple of things which always pisses me off (I swear I show signs of early dementia); snow is melting and every time my sump pumps go off my heart beats double time because of the memory of last summer and spending hours in the basement sucking up water; I have to read through and sign some papers as an executrix and it's majorly giving me a headache because I don't understand any of it; i'm paranoid about my budget each and every day (I know that is probably what a lot of us face); I desperately need the wage increase we're lobbying for at work, but I don't know if i'll get it; blah... Come Together, Right Now... Over Me. And that's how it happened. I thought about all this, and it got to me. My head does really crazy things to get me going in the wrong direction.

There's some wicked snow mold going on over here. I should take a picture of it and show y'all. It's disgusting. Looks like there are cobwebs covering every area of lawn out here. I need to check up on Mom, as she has some pretty strong allergies and I hope she's not having trouble with all this mold.

As you've probably deduced, the snow is melting at a much faster rate now. I've been teasing myself with visions of bbq's on the back deck, and beer. Yes... beer. I think alcohol is the only thing I actually managed to give up during lent. And only two more weeks until Easter. Coming back from that tangent. I am going to attempt to work some burgers into my budget for the next two weeks so that I can have a cook up at some point. Oh, it's such an exciting thought!!!

You'll never guess what I did when I woke up this morning. But i'll give you three guesses. Go ahead. Guess.

I think the best thing is to forget about it and live one day at a time. I'm trying to analyse myself during the binges because I recognize the behaviour... and the frightening aspects are: my binges consist of eating healthy foods but in big quantities... I don't crave a full bowl of ice cream, or a slice of chocolate cake nor hamburgers. I eat a slice of bread and I go back to get more and more. And I know it's wrong but I say: "nevermind, tomorrow will do better". Which is WRONG... period. I really need to stop this. The scale is going to the right direction but until when?! :( I also need to do something on financial level... and my colleagues are trying my nerves, too... GRRR... really, I should give myself an emotional break, I feel ditched and stuck. :(

Hey, at least you stuck to that one resolution! I have trouble with emotional stress eating too, that got me into trouble over the weekend. BBQ burgers sound great. Oh and sorry if your Aunt F is in town, hopefully it's a short visit :P

I have never heard of snow mould before. Being an executrix is a big job and can be tricky, I am with biscotti, get some legal advice before you agree to become one or sign anything. I can see that the thought of warm days and sitting outside with a cold beer are the only things keeping you going!! Hang in there. I am going for the treadmill as well or did you go out running?????

It's so hard to be good when you are stressed out, I totally understand. Tomorrow is a new day and you can try again.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the wage increase! My office has had some long pay freezes in this economy and it's definitely stressful.

I'm an emotional/boredom eater too. I'm not quite sure what to do about that, I mean - a person can only stay but sooo busy & well the emotional part, who knows... So, you're not alone there! I've been trying lately to focuss on what I do have & what I HAVE accomplished for the day, rather than what I wished were different. All I can say about that is, some days it works...! Eye on the prize my friend - eye on the prize!

One more week of work and then i'm off for a few days of holidays! The countdown is on!

Yesterday I did laundry and cleaned out the garage. Just need to take in some recycling and the garage is ready for... whatever it needs to be ready for. I also kept picking at the containers upstairs in the spare room and finally got that all straightened out too. Now to pick and choose which containers can go into the basement for storage.

I cooked up the rest of the cod I had sitting in the freezer. I decided to make a stir-fry with brown rice, tomatoes, carrots, onions and the leftover cod. Yum! I separated out enough for four meals this week, but it's so yummy I might accidentally over-eat. I have no picture, but it even looks yummy. That's pretty dangerous in my opinion ;)

I didn't do any formal exercising yesterday, so i'm hoping to get something in today after work. I'm thinking about a run/walk with Dog.

My breakfast this morning didn't quite work out so well; I brought cereal to work with me, and mixed frozen berries and almond milk together to mix into the cereal. The frozen berries crystallized the almond milk and it's sort of a big hot mess of crunchy coldness. Not sure i'm a fan. Ah well, the turkey sandwich for lunch will more than make up for it.

That's it, that's all I have to say today.
