OH MY you guys!!! I have missed being on here!!! I'm so sorry! I have been on vacation and busy with motherly duties...I got side tracked and didn't have time to keep my diary up!:( I missed it! Well....as far as that...with missing to write in the diary...i have not been AS conscious of what Ive been putting in my mouth!  AGAIN...I'm doing OK with the portion control...its just i havent been eating as healthy as I could have! Esp. being on vacation! But i have managed to exercise a bit...I havent loss as much as I would like to:(  5 lbs is all! :( Im not sure how i feel about that!?!? UGHHHHHHHHHHH....well...im gonna stay on this wagon...i will continue to try to log in when i can...i hope u guys are all doing well. I will catch up with u guys, reading ur journals etc. tomorrow. Right now...ive gotta run! take care.

Good afternoon everyone!!!

I apologize...its been 4 days since i have logged on! I have been busy with the holiday and appts for my babies. BUT.... I have been a bit sidetracked, but not overeating or not eating unhealthy junk!!!  What I have been doing that Im not pleased with...is skipping meals!!! Yesterday, I only once...BBQ for dinner(well an early dinner ate at 3:30pm), Friday ate twice that day, had a microwave Marie Callendars meal and for dinner went out to eat(ate grilled chicken, rice and black beans...I didn't eat it all..good 4 me!), Thursday I ate once that day as well.. had lunch maybe not the healthiest choice...fried fish, fried okra and pinto beans.(the fried, made it not healthy) and Wed. I already blogged on! So that is how my days have been. Ummm, I have been doing ok on exercising, waked a ton yesterday and trhe other days...been very busy, so did a lot of moving and walking around! My husband and sisters, have already noticed a difference in my face, that is has gotten smaller. So I still havent weighed in...we shall see...

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July, as did I!!!!

Today so far:

Had a bit of chicken(grilled), beans 1/2 cup, 2tbs of macaroni salad

im dying of curiosity! when are you weighing in? dont forget to eat your body will go into starvation mode and start storing fat!!!! then when you do weigh in youll be dissapointed because your body will have kept hold of the fat!!!remember to eat breakfast thats the most important meal of the day it helps your metabolism! have a great time!

Ok...so I haven't weighed in yet! I think I wanna do it monthly..cuz I don't wanna obssess any more than I already am! LOL! Thanks for the voices of confidence from some of u guys!!!

Im blogging rather late today..been pretty busy! Not on treadmill in days, you guys..:(!!

still eating pretty good, for most part! Ive slacked a bit on counting calories, because when I cook..im not sure how many calories are in the food! lol..but I have smaller portions than usual!

Today:

(b) eggs, with homesmade salsa, 2small tortillas and cup of coffee

(l)- healthy choice microwave meal, glass of tea

(s)- skipped, pretty full

(d) chicken wings, baked, macaroni salad(with mayo and peas, carrots) and green leaf salad

Hey lady! I agree you should weight in. It's great to see the numbers go down over time. I believe in you girl! remember what a great role model you are being for your children. My mother was very overweight growing up and I don't ever remember her working out and it really did shape the way I looked at my own weight. I didn't know people were supposed to work out! LOL If I can add a idea for you, there are a few things diet wise that you could do to hep. Watch your carbs. Breads and potatoes. This week try eating lots of veggies with baked chicken or fish. Also, a tip write down what you drink. I found I drink most of my calories. Even juice that is healthy might have hidden calories. Good luck and keep at it you'r doing awsome!

SO today is the 7th day!!! I MADE IT!!!! Hahahahhaahaha!

Ok, so not much exercise took place this weekend, except for Saturday..was having outdoor fun with the kids..LOTS of exercise! Sunday, none!

Should I weigh myself today guys?? TOM just left last night!

OK...tomorrow will be my 7th day!!! YAHOO! 

Don't know when to weigh in because TOM still around??? Should be leaving soon!!! Well over the weekend, I was a bit forgiving...lol..had a total of 2 hotdogs..processed food, not good for the body...but Oh well...I think I did good. Im a little off schedule with eating time etc. but have not over eaten at all!! Consumption of H2O has decreased this weekend:(. Drank lemonade and tea, and water..but not as much!

Went to church this am...so I skipped breakfast..just didnt have time

(l)- chicken(fried...i didn't eat the skin), salad, beans

(s)- cracker mix

I feel awkward giving advice when I too have weight to lose but I find when I skip breakfast I feel crappy most of the day and will most likely make bad food choices that day. When I take the time to eat breakfast I have energy all day. Have a great night and good luck at the weigh in tomorrow!

DAY 5/6?? This journey began on Monday June 22, 2009

OK....so AGAIN...i didn't get on the treadmill yesterday, so that makes 2 days! :( We went out to dinner and a movie last night, so I never got around to exercising! I will DEFINATELY today...Im planning a day outdoors with the kids!

Last night we went to a restraunt, I was SOOO proud of myself!! I didn't finish my meal, I shared with the kids, AND STILL had some to bring home. I will eat it for lunch! Pretty good portion control! iM FINDING that my appetite has shrunk! YAAAYY!!!

EVEN @ the movies...I had 1/2 handful of popcorn...and didn't have the DESIRE for more!!! GUYS...this is BEYOND WONDERFUL!!! Im sooo happy/proud...im doing this! Ok so with todays eating:

(b)- scrambled eggs, Wheat toast with strawberry jelly, hashbrown, fried hotdog! (I KNOW..this doesn't sound too good, the processed meat...I don't even know why I ate it...? So..not sure the calories for this meal, but i ate at like 11:30am so this might be brunch, I will have the leftovers from the restraunt for dinner! Pasta chicken and peas.

(s) plan on a yogurt

so I had the leftovers around 4pm...and then 8pm I had a hotdog. Drank water. Did alot of outdoor activity with the kids.

I think I did pretty good. Other than processed food times 2 today! LOL!!!

Hope everyone has a healthy eating weekend! This will be my first weekend of trying to stay healthy! Best wishes to us all!!!

DAY 5 is here!!!!!! WOW!

Ok so, last night for dinner..i ate LATE AGAIN! :( I don't know, I just have been cooking late, coming in from my errands late!

(D)- So I ate 2 bowls of  homemade vegetable, beef soup! Veggies included: squash, zuccini. carrots, onions, potatoes, tomatoes.

2 bowls...hmmm..i don't know if I over did it or not?? The bowls don't hold that much of a serving. OK...so I just went to measure how much that bow can hold..LOL...I told u Im becoming OBSSESSED! So, one bowl holds...8oz...so I ate 2 bowls..16oz. total!

For today(5th day): So far only breakfast...

(b)- cup of coffee and one sweet bread (don't know how many cal this is..hope not too many)

(l)- was good! Made a sandwich with ham, turkey (meat was 40calories), bread (180cal), with mustard, cheese(70cal), lettuce, cucumber, tomatoe and onion on it! 1/2cup of snack mix(120cal), mangopeach applesauce(90cal).

SOoooo...approx: 500cal on lunch! IS THAT OK YOU GUYS??? Oh...I DRANK 1.5 BOTTLE OF WATER.

You are doing a great job staying focussed! Don't push yourself to hard on the exercise - meaning; you don't want to injure yourself or burn yourself out on an activity. By all means - exercise - just know your limits. I myself have issues in this area........ :)

DAY 4: Its TOM for me! :( Hope I don't get crazy on eating! SO the end of my day yesterday ...I said I would skip dinner, because it was too late to eat when I got home..but....YES i know yesterday, I didn't eat enough...i skipped meals, unintentionally! AND...i was planning to not eat bcuz i had that snack wrap @ 5:30, and I didn't get home till 9:30, but by 10:00 I was hungry...I forgot about me saying to go eat a yogurt..so...I had a "healthy choice microwave meal" and a handful of mixed nuts "indulgence...the ones from walmart! I hate that I ate late...but felt like i needed to...immediately afterwards..i did walk on the treadmill for an hour!

So far this morning.....

b- coffee with 2TBS sugar and splash of milk with a sweet bread.

S- skipped again :( I woke up late this A.M. so had a late breakfast, wasn't hungry fir snack!

L- eating now, a Marie Calenders microwave meal ( don't remember the calories) but its pasta and meatballs. Im drinking bottled h2O and having a strawberry yogurt (170 cal).

will type in dinner as I get there...not sure what im cooking yet...I didn't thaw any meats so...might have to go to the grocery store.

DAY 3: YAAAAY ME! I'm sticking to his pretty well! DOes ANYONE know when that scary, hump is over with..when it becomes more of a routine and not like scary that u might slip???

 

Last night I had a dream that I was skiny( yall i think im obssessing...LOL) I asked in my journal yesterday somethings...and never got a response? :( I need some guidance, help!!!

Well....this morning I woke up with a migraine, took 4 ibuprofren..and Im feeling better! Last night I walked another mile on the treadmill! I feel good about that! I will start my food log and journal in the rest throughout the day as I eat my meals..or get tempted to eat! PLEASE Be with me today!

b- one bowl of cheerios with whole milk

S- skipped snack today(not intentionally I was sooo tierd, I took a nap)

L- leftover chicken stir fry (ate it in a bowl) I didn't measure it..I'm not sure if the portion was appropriate, but Im full and DIDN'T go for seconds!  I ran out of bottled H2O..so I drank a glass of ice tea...more ice than tea!

D- well I had a chicken  snack wrap with ranch dressing from Mcdonalds @ like 5:30 pm...got busy and had "snack" late. So I think Im gonna count this as my dinner and not eat tonight. I just got home and it is 9:30pm..too late to eat! I might get a yogurt or 2 if I feel hungry!

I did pretty good calorie wise today...Im assuming under 1500 cal. I hate that I skipped meals! I bought a scale today, so Im looking foward to weighing myself over the weekend. I hope to have the energy to get on the treadmill tonight. I think its time to step it up a notch on my speed. Well...I did go out today and stopped at McDonalds...but I was wise, only having one snack wrap and a diet dr. pepper. I picked up bottled H2O so...I will start back to drinking that! Thx all 4 being supportive today! It has been a great 3 days this far!!!!

if you've never watched calories before and you are trying to now, advice i would give, rather than be obsessed with calories and keeping a specific number, rely on eating the appropriate amount of servings from the food goups. at least 3 handfulls of veggies per day, 2 fruits, 6-11 servings of grains (i think 1/2 cup of rice counts for one serving), 2-3 meat/proteins, 2-3 milk products. and i find that for me, eating carbs like breads/grains is absolutely necessary to provide the energy i need. i don't believe, anymore, in the atkins or low carb diets. they are not healthy like what our body needs in the long run.

i forgot to mention, 1-2 servings of fats. i love avocado. either 1/2 of one or 1/4 depending on the size. i use in as a spread in my sandwiches. also good, 1/4 cup nuts, olive oil in stir fries. those are my suggestions. just don't go too overboard on fats.

Best I can tell you is that you will begin to see how much better you feel and that in itself is a guide to keep going in your healthier living.... Routines will settle in and you not really realize how fast time goes by and you see your track record "clean" for the lack of a better term... That is self-inspiration in itself.... Everyone is different, but keeping the determination,tenacity,drive, what have you in realizing you ARE WORTH EVERY BIT OF EFFORT YOU PUT INTO YOURSELF..... Nobody else can do this for us...We ARE IT!!!!! I repeat this often and will again.....

"I would rather take 100% credit for success than to take 100% blame for my failure" AND "I much rather go to bed at inght feeling successful in achieving daily goals than promising myself I will or won't do something tomorrow that made my day unsuccessful when my head hits the pillow at night"... It is our choice to take control or let our ship sink....

Also your H/A may be a cause of a change in eating habits...Less, caffeine, sugar, not enough water etc.... Just nake sure that you are eating at the right hourly intervals for you to prevent any low blood sugars that may cause a H/A... I have to be careful when trying to cut back myself (cutting out snacks sometimes & usually doesn't work)...Headaches & nausea are my triggers when I realize I've went too long before eating a little bit of something....Not everyone i the smae and that may not be your case, just thougth I might toss the ideas of my personal experiences with changing an eating habit and adding exercise.....

OK...thank you both! I appreciate and will yield to some of both of your tips/suggestions! Thanks for the encouragement! When I woke up from nap..I realized I had a food dream! GEEZ...I totally sound like an addict...I am a food addict! You know drug users have drug dreams. Well...I had a food dream, drempt of chipolte and subway! Im going to be leaving the house today...the first time since I started this lifestyle change and Im scared I might turn into a drivethru or something! Im gonna make sure my kids are full so they wont say "mom..im hungry..can we get something to eat" LOL.

Ok so this is day two...last night I did pretty ok. I didn't go and get a plate of food...BUT I did have a need for something in my mouth, so I measured out a tablespoon of mixed nuts (indulgent from walmart)...so it was 56 calories. But overall I think I had a good day! I hope I can make it through today...Im going to a bday party with cake icecream, hamburgers...wish me well. So far this today Ive had:

B- 2 servings of cheerios with whole milk (prob could go to skim milk but 2% and whole tastes way better)...Im assuming this was a 300 calorie breakfast? each serving of cereal dry is 100 calories.

S- 1/4 of an orange..I wasn't too hungry, but I didn't want to get queezy like yesterday.

L- DID AWESOME @ the bday party...didn't eat! Ate when I returned home. Ate a Healthy Choice microwace meal (250calories), a handful of grapes, individual size of applesauce- strawberry flavor(90calories), bottle of H2O!

S- pack of those peanut butter crackers(6 to a pack) 190 calories

D- stir fry terriyaki(veggies with thin noodles) served over rice. I could have did without the rice since it already had thin noodles..but it seemed sooo much more filling and delicious!:( SO, 2 cups of the teriyaki alone would = 340 calories. So I added rice, Im not sure how much I ate nor the calories...? BUT...I think I ate a reasonable amount , especially since my calorie intake all day ws pretty low?!? Im not sure what Im doing here...?? Ive NEVER watched calories or measured Im not sure if this is being TOO obssessive? I don't know if this will continue to work...??? ANY COMMENTS PLEASE!! SO Im just going to ASSUME I had a 600-650 calorie dinner does that sound reasonable? Does anyone know how many calories white rice has per cup?

I will fill in the rest of my day later...Thanks for your support..I hope your day goes well too! ...."Courage to change the things I can".....my eating habits! SOOO I finished my diary for today!! PRAY I make it through the night without snacking! I hope to get on the treadmill tonight..I will let you know how it goes in the morning!

Thanks for your encouraging post on my page .... yes we do have almost identical current weights and future goals. Congrats on doing well last night. The evenings are my worst times to try and manage. As soon as I sit down in front of the t.v. I just want to eat. Many years ago I used to do some needlework and I have now planned to start that again for when I'm in front of the t.v. The way I see it is that to do needle work you have to keep your hands clean and busy so you can't eat! I guess if it works --- then by all means do it! I hoping that will assist with my evening struggles! Good luck with your birthday party foods - stay focused in making good choices and have a great time!

OK...so I did it! Got on the treadmill...walked for a bit over a mile. Not sure how long it took tonight because I jumped off for about a min. to use the restroom...but i added about 23min. burned about 140 calories according to the treadmill! SOOOO..Im happy day 2 was a success...I pray I can keep it up! Im deciding to look at this like recovery...like food is my drug! I NEED to save my life! Stay motivated everyone...we are in this together!!!!

looks like you did so awesome today! you are committing to your health- so awesome! my journey began a long time ago, when i was about 18 and i did lose 70 lbs through sane eating, meditation and spiritual work. i have kept it off, thank god- and it is a blessing every day to be involved on a real present level with my own wellness. i wish you much luck! xoxo
