I just woke from a very long nap *yawn*. I got up earlier than I wanted to this morning because Caboose began whining in his crate..took him out and fed him breakfast, played with him a bit and then put him back to bed and I laid back down, but he only stayed asleep for about an hour or so, then he was awake and wanting to play. Started some laundry, hopped in the shower and then Mindy stopped by and we ran to KMart, where she bought a bunch of flowers, went back to her place and I planted them for her. After that I was all sweaty and irritable and just wanted to come home, plus my allergies were beginning to kick in. Came home and took some Benedryl, did more laundry and then BAM..the Benedryl hit me and I was out for the count. I was in bed from 3:30 until 6:00!!! I never do that!! Caboose was over at Mindy's, because she is taking both her puppy (Cowboy) and mine to their first doggie doctor visit in the morning. Cowboy is getting the ol' snip snip, but Caboose is too young for that and is getting his worming pills and I think 1 or 2 other shots..he is still too young for many shots. Anyway, they have to be at the vet at 7:30 in the morning, so he is spending the night with Aunt Mindy and Cousin Cowboy!

Ummm..Denny didn't call me at all yesterday. Which was fine, no biggie. Anyway, after I woke from my coma, I checked my phone and saw I had a couple of messages. One from him and one from Mindy..called Mindy, she said she had been trying to get ahold of me and even stopped by here and knocked on the door, but I never heard it. She even went over to Denny's to see if I was there, he told her no and that he had been trying to get ahold of me today as well. So, anyway, after talking to Mindy, I saw that Denny had called me earlier as well, so I called him. He said he had been trying to get ahold of me and even came over and knocked on my door too!! I explained about the Benedryl and all that. He told me his daughter was already gone but that there was always next week..I told him I didn't have Caboose today anyway so I couldn't have shown him to her..We talked a bit more...then he brought up this summer, when my schedule calms down during the break and I have some extra time..he asked me if I would want to go play tennis with him..he could give me some pointers..he said "since you like to exercise and all" LOL..Anyway, I said I would like that but not to expect anything because I SUCK. He said that was ok, that it would just be fun..he then said "you and I seem to have alot in common and get along really well"...I said "yeh, we do" and then there was this quiet..LOL. I'm like "ok, well I have laundry to do so I better go!"

Have done pretty good with food today. I only have 1 point left but I am not hungry. I didn't make very nutritious choices today but I have stayed within my points..so thats what matters.

Thanks to everyone for your comments..I am amazed at how many of us hate math!!! I had to chuckle at some of your comments and I gathered hope from them as well!! There IS hope for me!!!

Everyone have a Great Evening!!!!

Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

I have to say, congrats on being able to take care of a dog on top of your studies and work! i guess once the dog is fully trained and everything it will help improve your working-out even further!

borntocry on 04/25/2007:
Hi Moody! I love your entries - I'm always so excited to read them! It's like a soap opera (or maybe my own life is just really boring, hehe)!

I'm going to stock up on Benadryl the next time I go to America. Over here all the allergy medication is the non-drowsy kind, and I could use some help getting to sleep! Maybe you should try something else, though - how about Clarityn?

I think it will be so much fun playing tennis with Denny. Really, the key to tennis is just keeping your eye on the ball. As long as you do that, you'll at least be able to hit it, and avoid looking like a complete fool (that's my big problem, anyway!).

sweetpea1977 on 04/25/2007:
I just got caught up on all your entries!

First off, Im glad you enjoyed Chattanooga so much. I went to their aquarium years ago in high school and enjoyed it very much. My favorite part was the butterfly atrium too. So beautiful and peaceful!

Secondly, glad things are still going good with Denny. He sounds like a real sweetheart. Tennis is a great way to open communication lines as well as a great form of exercise!! Enjoy!

Thirdly, Caboose sounds like a cutie pie. Any reason for the name? My guess is that he was the last one born in the litter. :o)

Anyway, sounds like you are doing good in school. Dont worry about the math class. I wasnt very good at math either and I still graduated with a good degree, thanks to all the other classes I actually cared about and did well in. :o)

Good for you on getting that nap yesterday. Sounds like you needed it after the Monday you had!! :o)

Keep up the good work on the exercise and points. You're doing fantabulous!

Lastly, thanks for the sweet comment. You rock!

harleygirl79 on 04/25/2007:
Know what you mean about meds making you sleepy. Hope your puppy enjoyed his vacation. LOL

mcwoo40 on 04/25/2007:
Hi, you seem to be getting back into the swings of things with this healthy eating lark!!Roll on summer,so you can go out with Denny nudge, nudge, wink, wink!!Stick at it,Julie

jolt on 04/25/2007:
Sounds like you needed the nap/rest so glad you fit that in. Also nice that you have friends that worry.. lol come checking on you anyway. Playing tennis with Denny sounds like it might be fun :) I used to play when I was younger just for fun...

Hope puppy enjoys his vacation, and his doctors appointment

smiley2 on 04/26/2007:
There is a DEFINATE chemistry between you and Denny...its like a soap opera to me....i cant wait till he actually kisses you lol!!! I bet you cant wait that school is done for the summer.....unfortunately with my distance learning it never stops lol! Know that im thinkin of you though, its tough to work and study at the same time! Wx

borntocry on 04/26/2007:
Hi again, Moody! Thanks for the comment you left me. I use calorieking to track my calories. I normally round up my estimates, but anythinng listed on pre-packaged foods tends to be really precise. So generally if my totals are really precise, it probably means I've had mostly pre-packaged foods that day, haha!

Oh and I have 39-inch hips, by the way. You must admit that is pretty big! I think geevee and WorkingIt both have smaller hips than me...

weightlossyoyo on 04/29/2007:
That med. will really knock you out. Glad to hear you are doing so well, keep up the good work!!

Hello friends!!

Monday is almost over!! Woohoo! I have grown to despise Mondays this term as I work the overnight shift on Sunday and have an 8:00 AM class on Monday mornings and am in school until 4:00 PM. A very long day, dragging a$$ all day usually, BUT today was my LAST Monday of the term!! Woohoo and all that happy crap!!!

Like I said, I worked last night and for some unknown reason, within an hour after arriving at work I was sick to my stomach. I mean SICK..I was actually in the bathroom TRYING to throw up to relieve the nausea. It was horrible and I have no idea where it came from, but it hit and it hit HARD. I had only had 2 bananas and some chicken breast yesterday, and 64 oz. of water..feeling fine until around 7:45 and BAM..I couldn't leave work, but thankfully I have a job where I can rest when needed in the evening. I couldn't throw up and was riding some major swells of nausea and I think I even had a fever because I was freezing, which I never am. I am always the person who is burning up when others are cold; it's because I am well insulated I always say. Anyway, I was freezing and it was in the low 70's, but I actually turned on the heater and grabbed a blanket from a closet and wrapped up in that and still couldn't get warm. Whatever it was lasted thru the night, although I the nausea lessened but never left completely. This morning I drank a water before leaving work and stopped at the Citgo and grabbed a Slimfast and a Diet Coke. The Slimfast was actually good and my stomach handled it fine..I think that I may stock up on them for a quick breakfast, or any meal for that matter. Anyway, got to school and headed to the dreaded math, only to remember I had a major test in there this morning that I had completely forgotten about. Seems that several of us had forgotten about it and I was not the only one unprepared. I was the last to finish the stinking test and I don't feel good about it AT ALL. I swear, I may have to retake THIS math class!! It's ridiculous! I was joking in class the other day that I was going to be in school 6 years because I can't pass the friggin math class!! I am in the lowest level possible and I get it better than I did last term, but I am still in bad shape! Owell..I won't let it defeat me, but I really hate this crap. And it's crap that I will NEVER use! I could see if I were going to be a math or science major but I am majoring in Special Education! I won't be teaching my students how to multiply polynumerals!!! Goodgrief.

Also, today was my LAST Biology lab! Woofrigginhoo!!! I was SO happy to walk out of that class today..Seriously floating on air!! I just need to pass Biology now so I don't have to retake the lab! I should be ok..I got a C on my first test and B's on the other 2..I just have my final next week to take, so I think I am ok. Just let me Pass Lord Please. Some classes I hold myself up to higher standards than others because they truly do not come easy to me. As long as I try my hardest, which I do, that's all I can ask. I just want to Pass math and biology, I don't need to soar thru with flying colors..

I was starving today when I got home..it was after 5 and all I had had was that Slimfast and part of a Diet Coke. I know that is terrible, but I don't get a break all day and I was even going to hit the vending machine, which I hate to do, but I was seriosly hungry, my stomach was growling loud in class and it was embarrassing! But the stupid vending machine wouldn't take dollar bills and I didn't have any quarters..so I went hungry and my stomach continued to complain. When I got home I got sidetracked with giving Caboose his first bath, which he hated, then I got sidetracked even more sweeping the floors and doing dishes and just general picking up that I had neglected this weekend. Before I knew it, it was after 6 and I still hadn't eaten! I was tempted to make some popcorn or eat something that wasn't really all that great for me, but I ended up fixing a can of Chicken Soup..thinking I could have some popcorn or something afterwards, but you know what? The soup satisfied me!! I was really surprised! It was the Campbell Chunky Chicken Noodle, so it was a little bit more hearty than the regular Chicken Noodle..Anyway, I am not hungry and I am not pushing it. I am over on calories for the week anyway. I had a rough first couple of days on WW, when I went WAY over on points due to those stinking croutons I added to my salads and then another day I just sucked on points because I made bad choices. So, I think having a light day today isn't such a bad thing.

I am sore from walking those 5 miles in the park yesterday!! I was very suprised at how sore I was this morning...my butt and even my upper back muscles are a bit achey..but in a good way. I guess walking outside with hills thrown in make a difference, rather than walking on the treadmill. Plus I usually just do 1 hour on the treadmill and yesterday I walked 5 miles and that takes me just under an hour and a half. Not the greatest speed but trust me, I am walking at a very brisk pace.

Ok..another long entry. I don't know how or why I do that. I just let it all out here I guess. Sorry.

I hope that you all have had a wonderful Monday...here's to a Blessed and Successful Week!!

Let me make you feel better about math - I took College Algebra 3 times!!!! :o) But I stuck to it, and made it through!!!!

borntocry on 04/24/2007:
Hi Moody! Wow, what a busy day you had! I got tired just reading about it. No wonder you didn't have time to eat. The same thing happened to me yesterday too (although looking back on it, I don't think I got nearly as much done as you did), and that's a rare occurrence for me as I can normally always find time to eat!

I wonder what could have made you feel so nauseated? Do you think the chicken was a little off? Can't think of what else it could have been.

I had a hard time with Math at college too. My parents never let me forget the time I called them the night before my Math final crying hysterically because I thought I was going to flunk out of college due to this one Math class. To this day they blame me for turning my Dad's hair white with worry overnight! As it happened one of my room-mates had taken calculus in high school and stayed up late explaining it to me, and I passed. It was really very kind of her as we weren't even friends.

Oh and speaking of friends, thanks so much for the comment you left me! I was so touched while reading it, I almost cried! I guess I am a little reluctant to take anti-depressants right now, though I hope I would have the courage to do it if things got worse. Because you're right, everyone should be able to enjoy life!

Oh and yes, my husband's team-mates really did get pizza with snails and frogs on it! The server put the frog pizza right next to me and everyone laughed at my expression of horror! It didn't really look like frog but just the thought of it was so disgusting...

weightlossyoyo on 04/24/2007:
I feel the same way about math and science, not my strong areas either so you are doing great! I hope you feel better.

mcwoo40 on 04/24/2007:
Hi,hope you are feeling better today.Good job on the exercise. How are you finding the weightwatchers plan??A few people i know have lost a lot of weight and kept it off through doing that plan, stick at it,Julie

greengirl on 04/24/2007:
Hi Moody, hope you have recovered from the attack of nausea. I have a lot of sympathy having just recovered from a gastric bug myself. I too have found walking outside to be more strenuous than the treadmill but I do enjoy it, especially if the weatheris good. i will keep my fingers crossed that you pass your tough subjects. I'm sure you will do ok. keep up the good work ;o)

Hi guys...

So, yeh, I worked from 7 last night until 7 this morning, came home and changed into some sweats and my walking shoes, headed to the park and walked 5 miles. I LOVE walking outside SO much more than walking inside on the treadmill..the park that I walk at is only a couple miles from my house, and two times around this one trail equals a mile..so 10 laps is 5 miles..very simple. There is a miniature golf course, a water park with a wave pool and water slides, a playground for children and 2 ponds for catch and release fishing and 3 different trails. I am very fortunate to have this wonderful park so close to my house.

So anyway, I finish walking, head home, get out of my car all sweaty and stinky and as I turn around after shutting my car door DENNY IS STANDING THERE!! Wouldn't you know it? I look like crap and THERE HE IS! Very cute by the way in shorts and a t shirt..and then theres me..all red faced, sweaty hair, a dirty t shirt that actually has dog crap on the arm ( I didn't notice THAT until I was walking and looked down at my iPod strap and saw dog crap from Caboose,my seven week old puppy who I had taken out this morning when I got home from work and after he pooped I picked him up and apparently he had a little smudge of crap on his butt that wiped off onto my shirt.) So yeh, there I am looking like crap and smelling like crap and Denny picks THIS time to approach me!

I quickly explain that I just came from the park and had taken a long walk and he said "that's great, you exercise!"...and then asked me if if I played tennis because he needs someone to play with. I laughed because I seriously DO NOT play tennis, I am the kind of tennis player that spends more time chasing the ball than hitting it and he said that was ok, we could just hit some balls around...I asked him where he plays and he told me a couple of places...then I apologized for not getting back to him from when he called me last week asking about my schedule so that he wouldn't play his drums while I was home..He said it was no big deal that I hadn't called him or dropped by his place and he again extended the open invitation to come over at anytime..I actually was honest and told him I am shy about that kind of thing, just dropping in on him and then he says "Don't be, come on"..and starts leading the way to his place!! I thought "NOW, when I look and smell like this?"..but I followed him..

He was such a gentleman, when we got to the stairs leading up to his place, he gestured for me to go first..which was very nice but all I could think of was that my a$$ was huge AND sweaty and he was right behind me going up the steps...sigh..anyway, we enter his apartment and he gave me the tour (it's totally different from mine, his bedroom is huge, it's the size of my livingroom, bathroom and bedroom combined, I'm not kidding) and we talk about a few different things...I spent probably 20 minutes with him and I told him about me getting a puppy but I haven't told our landlord yet..I've been sneaking Caboose in and out of the house inside my purse or gym bag..we went outside and walked over to my side of the apartment where there is a big yard and he told me he would clear out some brush and I could take Caboose next door to this abandoned house with a huge back yard and let him run free without worrying about him going near the street..How nice was that??

He told me that his 5 year old daughter is "infatuated" with me and wants to see me...so he invited me over to him place tomorrow night (he has his daughter on Mondays and Tuesdays) to see her..I am bringing Caboose to show her, I thought she would like playing with him.

I am not looking for a relationship, but it's nice to have a cute guy living next door and who is nice..truly nice, at least from what I have experienced so far. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing his daughter tomorrow and ok, him too. And this time I won't smell like crap..heh.

Ok..now onto the WW front..yesterday SUCKED. I went totally off program. Am back on track today and feel better about it. I know there will be days where I will give into the temptations, but as long as those days are far and few between, certainly no more than once a week...and continue to get my exercise in, then I think I will see things moving in the right direction.

It felt Wonderful to walk outside today, as I said earlier. I will still need to hit the gym for my weights but I am going to get my major cardio outside in the fresh air. The thing is I need to plan it when the weather is cool as it begins to get hot and humid here. Early mornings or late evening..probably early mornings because I have found that when I workout earlier in the day, I tend to eat better thruout the day as well..kind of a cause and effect relationship I guess.

Ok I am off of here..I need to do some research for a sociology paper that I have to turn in this week..nothing like leaving a paper that I have known about all term until the last week!! But that is typical Moody..

Everyone have a wonderfully blessed Sunday and stay strong and focused!!!!

Hey Moody! you got in a great walk! I've been refraining from going outside because i think my allergies may act up! denny sounds like a great guy and I hope everything continues to go well with you 2 (3 including his daughter!) :)

greengirl on 04/22/2007:
He sounds like a really nice person. There aren't too many of those around. Kudos to you on exercising right after work. I know thats not easy because I do it too. Keep up the great work and enjoy your trip next door with your puppy :0)

Hi,I love walking in the outdoors too,but i don't do enough of it.About 2 weeks ago i did 3hrs walking around all the posh areas that i don't get to see when you are driving in the car. Then i went on the coastal road which was longer than i thought,Anyway have fun tomorrow!!!Julie

smiley2 on 04/22/2007:
Hey you! I think its REALLY exciting about Denny! Take things as it comes...but be open...this could turn into something amazing....well it usually does when a person least expects it lol!

I have a paper due the 30th of April and i have also left everything up until now! I cant believe i did it again! Oh well, know you are not alone! Good luck!

3kidslater on 04/22/2007:
You know, I've always heard it happens when you aren't looking for it. That's how it happened with me that's for sure! Now, here we are 15 yrs and 3 kids later!! ;o)

borntocry on 04/23/2007:
Haha, that's so funny that you ran into Denny under such far-from-ideal circumstances! He sounds like a very cool guy, though. I think you should definitely take him up on his offer to play tennis. I know how you feel about that, though, as I am also a beginner who spends more time chasing the balls around than actually hitting them. But it could still be fun for both of you!

Oh and congratulations on your new dog! He has the same birthday as my Dad!

It's great having you back here, by the way. I love your long and totally candid entries. I could really relate to what you wrote about being unable to incorporate certain foods back into your diet - kind of like an alcoholic. It seems I have the same problem. I've been trying to face up to it all weekend and it's depressing. It sucks to have to completely swear off certain healthy foods because I can't control myself around them.

Hello everyone!

It's Friday! Woohooo!! Been a long week to say the least and I'm not sure why I am so happy it's Friday, as I have to work today and all weekend, but I am glad that I have the weekend break from school anyway. Yesterday, Thursday, was my day off and at 3:00 I got a call from my work asking where I was?? That I wasn't there to relieve the day shift girl. I told them that I didn't know I was supposed to work and they told me they had me on the schedule! I told them that I worked LAST Thursday and that my boss had called me this morning (Thursday) and asked if I could work NEXT Thursday and I said that was fine, but nothing had been mentioned about this current Thursday....(did that make any sense at all?)..anyway, there was a confusion and they thought I was working, so I rushed to work, totally unplanned, in my sweats no less, no shower..blah blah blah..and I hadn't eaten anything yet. I stopped by the store on the way in and grabbed some salad mix and fat free croutons...ate 2 large salads with imitation crab for both lunch and dinner on Wednesday and Thursday. I thought I had made great food choices right? I hadn't actually had time to get online and add up my WW points, but I still figured I was doing ok. Well, was I WRONG. I just now entered my points for my salads and the damn croutons KILLED me...just KILLED my points..I was way way over on both days due to those stinking croutons!! Even the fat free ones!! I admit I put a ton in both salads but still!!! I used like 17pts on the freaking croutons!!! Who knew?? Goodgrief. Ohwell..Live and learn..I am still sticking with my salads, cuz I love them, but I am omitting the damn croutons, as much as I love them. I am safer at this point to go croutonless than to have them and think I can put a proper amount in my salad. I am also switching to boneless/skinless chicken breast as my protein in my salads instead of the imitation crab. I love that stuff but it adds up in points, even tho it is fat free as well. A chicken breast has only 3pts, so that is great. Sheesh..I think I am close to using up all my flex points for this week already! And I have 5 more days until my new week begins! I will have to be extra diligent I guess..

Anyway, had class this morning from 9 til noon, came home and threw some chicken in the oven, switched out of school clothes and into work clothes and am hanging out for another hour or so until I have to leave for work. I so did NOT want to get up this morning..I was dragging a$$ big time, but once I got in the shower I began to feel human..add a few cups of coffee and I was fine..but now I can feel myself beginning to feel a nap coming on..which I do not have time for..sigh. Such is life and all that...

Ok..I am off to check up on all of you!! Thanks for your comments and support...you all mean so much to me!!!

Everyone have a Great Friday!!

Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 04/20/2007:
Hey Moody. I hear you about the croutons. I do not like soft foods. I like a crunch in just about everything I eat. If you are like that how would something else crunchy on the salad do with your points? Like Sliced almonds, maybe? Just an idea. I've never done othe points, so I don't know......

jon'smom on 04/20/2007:
Sorry to hear about the crouton situation. Who would have thought, huh? Hope you are having a good day!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 04/21/2007:
wow, thats a big deal...the croutons. that stinks how you had to rush to work...sorry moody! thanks for all of your comments, i really do appreciate them! its good to have you back here!

WorkingIt2 on 04/21/2007:
Damned croutons! Evil little things lol. How many points are oats? I sometimes put toasted oats(right from the quaker non-instant oat package) on my salad. I put them in a pan, spray a little pam on them, and put them under the broiler for a little bit until they get all crispy and crunchy, and then I use those. Just something to make life interesting on a salad lol.

Have a great day! **HUG**

Hey guys...Happy Thursday!

I slept in until 10:30 and it felt wonderful! Brewed a pot of coffee, threw on some sweats and am popping on here while I have a few spare moments before getting on with my day.

I DID sign up for WW on Tuesday night, making yesterday, Wednesday, my first official day. I did well, but have not yet added up my points. I didn't eat until I was at work yesterday (school in the morning, with a coffee on the road for breakfast). I am allowed 26pts a day with 35 flex points a week to use if needed, like if I go over a day in points or have something planned and need the extra points. It's such a simple plan and I love it, and as with any plan, really when you think about it, it works IF YOU FOLLOW IT!!!! Therein lies the key; following the program consistently and not throwing in the towel at the first craving or when the first time comes that you fall off the wagon. Someone left me a message on my last post..greengirl maybe? Sorry I can't remember at the moment, but anyway, they said something that I think I will find very useful and that is to remind myself in the moment of a craving that the food I am craving will always be there..I don't need it at that particular moment and there will be times when I can have it when I want it..I am not saying it exactly right but it made alot of sense to me. So, thank you for your wonderful advice and insight!

Also, I believe it was Sweetpea who mentioned my trip to Chattanooga!! I went to all those places you mentioned Sweetpea!! We went to Rock City, Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain..I have a ton of pictures on my digital that I need to download onto my computer and I will post some of them. It was a wonderful time..lots of walking outside, hiking thru caves and enjoying the beautiful nature..Oh yeh we went to the Aquarium too and it was alot of fun, I always love watching animals of all types..and while they aren't in their natural environment, it's very cool to see them swimming and playing...they have this butterfly atrium also that was awesome! I've never been in one of those before; all these beautiful butterflies off all different sizes and colors flying around and some of them even landed on me! I was able to put my finger down and have them climb on me...it was so cool and I was so excited! I'll post some pictures soon, I promise, for anyone who wants to see! Ruby Falls was amazing, you go into this elevator that takes you down 10 stories underground to these caves...you hike back like half a mile to this natural underground waterfall...it's breathtaking. I took some pictures of that as well but they didn't turn out for some reason. It was really dark down there by the waterfall, and even with my flash it didn't show up on the camera..owell.

I had a couple of you ask me about Denny, my neighbor. Well nothing has happened there...He has called me a few more times, the last time being last week..he needed to know my schedule again because he lost it while cleaning, and he didn't want to play his drums while I was home and disturb me or Ty. He told me to call him or drop on by his place...LOL. I still haven't gone over to his place!! He lives right next door to me and I am too much of a chicken to do anything!!! Or when he has asked me I look like hell...in sweats or haven't showered or no makeup..you ladies understand...LOL. I will have to make a special effort to look nice and then suddenly come up with a reason to knock on his backdoor! I am a major chicken, I admit it. Insecure in myself and not good with talking to guys face to face unless I've had a few drinks...heh. I can talk online or on the phone but when it comes to face to face contact I get all tongue tied and fidgety..don't know what to do with my hands..blah blah blah. Unless, like I said, I've had a few drinks, then I'm like all Hey what's up???? Friendly and flirty and conversation isn't a problem...unless thats not the truth and it's just the drinks that make me THINK I am like that!! You know..like how you suddenly become the best dancer once you've had a few Long Island ice teas...and in reality you look like a chicken with it's head cut off out there on the dance floor. hmmmm...

Oh yes!! I got a puppy last Monday! Mindy had to put her Miniature Schnauzer down a couple of months ago and decided she wanted another one so we went to this place that breeds them, and she picked one out and while there I fell in love with this little teeny puppy. Totally unplanned. Ended up getting him and he is adorable. He was born on March 1st and is just over 6 weeks old..he is salt and pepper colored and I named him Caboose. He is absolutely adorable and so smart!!! I had no idea how smart these little dogs are but I found out they are like 4th on the list in intelligence for dogs!! He is already doing so well on his potty training!! Anyway, I will put pictures of him on here as well when I get them off my digital!

OK..I am off to check up on you ladies..Sorry this was a long entry, I was just trying to catch those of you who know me up on my life since I've been MIA for the past month or so!! I am looking forward to reading up and catching up on all of you and getting to know the new faces that have shown up in my absence!

Everyone have a Wonderful Wonderful Thursday!!!!!

Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

I am using the Points plan- I get 25- though I have been thinking of switching to the Core plan just for a change. The thing that scares me about the Core plan is the ability to overeat. I know that core foods are healthier choices, but still.

I love the ball! It's not just for abs- but your abs are always working no matter what else you're working, because they have to stabilize your balance on the ball. In my video this morning, it started out with squats- which works your legs obviously, your arms because you're moving this ball, and your abs, because you're using them to balance your body and this HUGE ball while squatting. Then it moved into arms- biceps, triceps, shoulders, rows, military presses. All the while, your abs are working to keep you balanced and stable on the ball. It doesn't feel (to me) like a really HARD workout until I'm done- then I feel like I've really done something.

American Idol- I'm rooting for Blake, Jordin, and the bald guy (I just completely blanked on his name! he's my favorite though, there's just something about him...) Melinda is really really good too- but there's something that rubs me the wrong way with her.. I don't know exactly what. I always looked forward to seeing what Sanjaya was going to do with his hair, but I was always afraid at the same time. I was always kinda embarrassed for him. Did you hear that he was booed at the Dodger game when the cameras noticed he was in the crowd and put his face on teh jumbo-tron? HAHAHA (gosh, I'm mean! lol)

Hi, thanks for your comments,it's nice to have you back.I've caught up on your diary,i thought something would come out of you and your neighbour.I would hate to start dating again, having to get to know somebody.I suppose we are not forceful like some women or maybe it just comes down to confidence at the end of the day which i am better than what i was.I think that comes with age with me it has anyway, but i could do better!!You have done brill with your weightloss and not much to go before your target either.Joining weightwatcher's may give you that final push to where you want to be,Good luck anyway,it is'nt easy is it.I am another Idol junkie we don't get to watch it till tomorrow, glad Sanjaya is out, he got a little 'cocksure'of himself especially with that mow-hawk,i could'nt believe my eyes.I'll catch up with you again,Julie

(My Own Plan)

Hola all you beautiful Senoritas!!!! It's me...Moody! LOL...I have been Totally and Completely MIA for over a whole stinking month!! I am still plugging away with school..next week is dead week and then it's time for Finals!! Where has this semester gone? Wait a minute, let me rephrase that...where has this YEAR gone? It seems like it was just a few months ago and I was beginning school and now here I am just finishing my first year! Time flies when you're having fun and all that crap I guess!

Unsure about my weight, what the number stands at at this point...my own fault tho as I have not been to the gym. I take complete respsonsibility for it and I am determined to dig in again with the positive changes. I don't know how much harm has been done tho; I have gained back some (to be honest I am afraid to get on the scale) but my jeans are still nice and loose, (tho, not as loose as they were in January, when I was on the "Heartbreak Diet and Exercise Like Hell So The A$$hole Can See What He Lost Routine") but I am ok with myself. I am Really considering joining WW Online again..it's fairly cheap and very helpful, not to mention so easy to follow a rock could do it and lose weight, which is my kinda program...pair that up with hitting the gym 4x's a week (which is what my schedule allows, although when school gets out there is no real reason, besides laziness, that I couldn't work out everyday, but that would be pushing it, so I will shoot for 4 days)...and I should be good to go! To be honest I love the feeling of working out and not just working out a day here and there, but working out CONSISTENTLY. Believe it or not I am familiar with that feeling, the trick is being consistently consistent..heh. So, yeh I am sitting here with my ATM card and have the WW page flagged, trying to gather my courage to go weigh myself and sign up. I think I will do that now that I am here and have all you wonderfully understanding ladies with me... Seriously, I am going to go weigh myself now....If I don't come back it's because I have either passed out from shock or thrown myself down and am in the throes of a tantrum on my bathroom floor...If you live near WV you may even hear a few curse words echoing on the wind...brb..

@#$@#$#%^%$%^^&*$%$#$#&.....ok...I did it and you know it's not as bad as I had feared but it still is dissapointing..disappointing? helloo spell check...anyway..I can say this will all sincerity, I wouldn't have done this, weighed myself, if it weren't for this place. Those that know me, know that I have relied on all of you for support and when I am not here I don't do nearly as well...I don't hold myself accountable like I should and I depend so much on all your support and understanding..and I enjoy reading about all of your lives and struggles and know that I am not alone in this battle. And it truly is a battle for me and for so many of you..I know that there are a couple of people here who do not think that food addiction is a true addiction, and I can respect those opinions. However, I for one KNOW in my heart of hearts that I am addicted to certain foods. When I cut them out of my diet I go thru physical cravings and my mind is wrapped around those foods...and once I get past the withdrawls, which takes a few days usually, I am fine. BUT..and here's the thing..I tell myself that I can slip those certain foods in here and there and it will be ok...I can handle it..no biggie..just one time and that's it. That isn't the case tho..just like an alcoholic who say's "just one drink won't hurt"...Once I give in, I am doomed. Ok not doomed..but you all know what I mean...I give in over and over and over..telling myself that I am NOT going to eat this crap tomorrow...then tomorrow comes, the craving's hit and I give in, tell myself I won't eat this crap TOMORROW...then tomorrow comes and I give in..Does this sound familiar to anyone else??? Anyone else know the words to this song? Sigh...

Ok..as soon as I leave here I am going to go sign up for WW...well first I am going to post to some of you that I used to talk to and I have MISSED LIKE CRAZY!!! I am back tho..and I will be a faithful poster like I used to be...Can't wait to jump back in with both feet!!!

Everyone take care...I am off to Mindy's shortly to watch American Idol..we watch it together every Tuesday night...I know we are a couple of losers..heh. Ohoh!! I forgot...I got a puppy last Monday and will post pictures of him and fill you all in on him next time I write...

On a serious note..God bless all the families and the community of Viginia Tech...I didn't hear about this until yesterday afternoon when I was driving home from school and called my mom..she filled me in and I was simply shocked and sickened and so saddened. I watched a memorial service to them today on CNN...what a horrible horrible tragedy and I pray for each and every person who lost a loved one, friend or colleague. Such senseless violence can never be understood and there will forever be unanswered questions..

All be well and God bless...Take care and have a wonderful Tuesday night!

i moody...thanks for your comments...actually, i have not been doing well calorie-wise. I did have a string of good days this week...but today i binged on about 3640 calories. so, i have awhile to undo my damage....and i was already over my calorie budget before today even started!

hollybelle on 04/18/2007:
Good to see you back. Yes, the promises to self you mentioned "I won't eat this ANYMORE" sounds VERY familar. It gets better when I amend it to "I won't eat this real often anymore". More realistic, too. Also - I will tell you it is a GREAT feeling when you control your cravings. I can say all this right now because I just happen to have been doing "OK" for awhile. I have my hard times, too, don't get me wrong! Will it help you - when you have the urges for those certain foods you crave - to tell yourself that this will not be the last time that particular food is available to you? I know sometimes I just "can't" quit eating certain food sometimes because I really enjoy them and thinking that way helps me most of the time. I cut back on starchy carbs about 3 weeks ago and it's amazing how the cravings have subsided. Hang in there. Will you go to school during the Summer? You are so busy. Just get back to taking one day, one meal, one hour, one minute at a time-you can do it!

jolt on 04/18/2007:
Good to see you around! Hang in there... Finding a plan that works for you and you can stick to, whether you have time to post or not should be a priority. I think your plans sound great! You can do this, one step and one day at a time.

Hey Peoples!

I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, I have just been BEYOND busy with school and personal stuff. OMG...where has the time gone? Seriously, I can't believe how long it's been since I've been here. Also, my son has been confiscating the modem and taking it to his room so he can play Online Live games with his Xbox and so the computer isn't even hooked up half the time anymore..and I have been too exhausted to care when I have a few spare moments! I will try to make it on here more regularly tho because of all the things I do online, this is the place that means the most to me..

So, how is everyone doing? I am hoping to catch up with you all in a little bit. I don't know how much I will get to today as I am at school right now on a computer that isn't supposed to be used for personal things...but shhh..don't tell anyone! I keep looking over my shoulder to see if I am about to be busted..I have a biology lab in about 30 minutes that I have to be at so I have 20 minutes or so to check up on you all!

Things are stable for me..I am stuck at 34lbs lost. But I have to admit that the past 10 days or so haven't been the best workout days for me. I have been on the go constantly and my workouts have suffered for it. But I am going tomorrow and I PROMISE MYSELF that I am going to make time for working out NO MATTER WHAT!! I feel so much better when I work out consistently!

Been studying and studying and oh yeh...studying my a$$ off these past days and days..seems that's all I do anymore! I had a major biology test this morning and I have been focusing on that this past week. I have another sociology test next week and I am so far behind in reading for that class it isn't funny...need to catch up on that this weekend. So, anyway, my life is school school and school!! I am looking forward to Spring break...Mindy and I are going to Chattanooga Tennessee!! She went to school there and wants to show me around..and I guess there are alot of fun things to do there as well. I am just looking forward to time off from school and relaxing for awhile!

Ok..I am off to check up on all of you!! Everyone have a wonderful wonderful Day!!!

I've lost 15lbs in 4 weeks ,so i am going the right way.Do you see anything of Denny?? (your neighbour)hope you do well in tests,TRY and stay focused and i will catch up with you again,Julie

Im glad you are ok. I was starting to worry about ya!

I was just talking about Chattanooga over the weekend. My husband and I are planning another day trip (only 90 minutes from Atlanta) up there real soon since we had such a wonderful time last time. Check out Rock City and Lookout Mountain for good exercise with beautiful views. And if you like caves, be sure to check out Ruby Falls. The aquarium is nice too, though I prefer the Atlanta Aquarium more (much bigger and the food kicks butt!!).

Good luck with your schoolwork and tests!

Sounds like you have been really busy!!! Putting the incline really gave me a better cardio workout and I felt it in the muscles too!! I was sweating and puffing and panting like I havent for a long time!! Its what I need to up the stakes again. You should give it a try. good luck :)

hollybelle on 03/05/2007:
Stick to your plan to workout! I was just saying that although I haven't lost I haven't gained, either and that is a certain kind of success. You are doing great. I haen't been as regular a poster as I was - but good to catch up with you. I missed you.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 03/05/2007:
i am glad things are going well for you and that you are getting work done!!! yes, eating the foods i eat can get expensive...the kelp noodles and seaweed salads are VERY pricey! vegetables, they're not that expensive if you get them at the smaller vegetable markets...the greek strained yogurts are between 2-2.20 per cup! yeah, i live with family still, so i splurge. i consider food purchasing as a "hobby" that i allow myself to spend money on!

Im going to look for a job in a few weeks and i dont know how i am going to juggle the 2.....you are always an inspiration to me when it comes to that :) You also asked about my dogs, well they wont be joining us here since they stayed with my parents since i got them about 15 years ago and i wouldnt want to subject them to changing homes etc. I do miss them a lot though :( Good luck with all your efforts!

Hello Hello Hello!!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! I slept in this morning until 8:30, then got up and watched TV for awhile. Made some oatmeal and am waiting until noon to roll around so I can head to the gym. It doesn't open until noon on Sundays. Went yesterday and started out with 7 minutes on the treadmill to warm up my muscles, then did the HIT weight program that WorkingIt has talked about. Woweee, what a great workout! I LOVE it! I can REALLY feel it in my butt today, I mean REALLY feel it! I think it was the leg press machine that got me! I lift 210 lbs on that machine, but with the HIT program you extend for a count of 2 or 3, hold and squeeze the muscle for 1/2 a second, then release for a count of 4-5..then repeat for 8 repitions. Although I did 10 because my muscle wasn't fatigued at 8. Most of the reps I did at 10, except for one arm lift; my arms are not very strong at all, although they ARE getting stronger. I can tell when lifting that it's not quite as difficult as it used to be and I can really tell a difference when I am doing Yoga. Some of the positions we have to hold used to be pretty hard for me, because like I said, I have no upper body strength, but now I am able to hold them much easier! Progress!! It's amazing how it gradually happens and you may not realize it until you think about what you are doing and remember how it used to be when you first started. Also, I can tell with my cardio workout that I am getting stronger as well. When I first started walking the treadmill, I was at 3.5 mph and would maybe bump it up to 3.8. Now I walk between 4.0 and 4.2mph! Progress!!! I am thrilled that I am losing weight as that is my main goal, but I am also very pleased that my body, my HEALTH and STRENGTH are improving!!

Oh, a random comment; a few of you made comments about my picture and my hair, being darker or lighter! Well, it's darker than my last post at the end of October. I had it highlighted about a month ago I think and had her go a bit darker. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do because with lighter hair it's easier to hide those pesky greys! But I like darker hair on my as it is more natural for me..My natural color is auburnish..But those greys show up so much more with darker hair! Anyway, LOL..random!

Ok..I am off to check up on you lovely ladies!! Everyone have a successful day!!!

Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

WorkingIt2 on 02/18/2007:
Hooray! I am glad you enjoyed HIT! I had to laugh as I read yesterday's paper, here in my town a guy has started a HIT club at his house and people are just raving over it and happy about the results. He has machines that he uses and it only takes them 4 minutes to do the HIT..one guy said that he goes during his lunch and loves it because he doesn't get all sweaty lol.

So happy to read that you are having a fun time with the neighbor, and that you are very healthy! What a great job! (((((Moody)))))

greengirl on 02/18/2007:

sharklover on 02/18/2007:
Sounds like you were able to enjoy a very peaceful sunday! That's great that you tried that HIT workout. I'm still contemplating it. :-) And thats even more great that you have seen improvements in your strength and your health. Aren't those the best rewards of the whole loosing weight thing!

Thanks so much for your comment and the tips for the interview. I'm definetly going to put them to use!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/18/2007:
hello moody, glad to see you're back!!!! thank you for your entry...yes, I better get a move on!

weightlossyoyo on 02/18/2007:
Your doing great with your workouts!!

Justine6Robert3 on 02/18/2007:
Fantastic job on the exercise Moody!!! I'm so glad your feeling stronger on your cardio and weights. It is really nice when you start to feel physically stronger and you know your doing good things for your body!

I still haven't checked out the "HIT" program because for some reason I couldn't connect to the web site. I'll have to just search around a little until I find a web site with the info on it, I'd like to give it a try!!

I love when my "butt" hurts, sounds sadistic but it means its getting a good work-out, right?! My hubby has actually commented that my butt has gotten smaller and looks great, he also said he is starting to see my little bit of weight loss and inches! Did I mention my husband is a butt man, sorry if thats to much information, hee, hee! I realize nobody else will likely notice yet but its nice that the person who see's me most (and naked!) can see the difference. I know I feel better!

Keep up the awesome work outs, your doing terrific!!

WorkingIt2 on 02/19/2007:
When I do HIT, I usually do the entire body workout. Which is what I would normally do with weight lifting, but use the principles of HIT. Biceps, triceps, wrists, shoulders, back, legs, thighs, ankles, butt lol

hollybelle on 02/21/2007:
YAY! Progress. Give you the stregnth to go on, doesn't it? Love reading your posts.

(My Own Plan)
Weight: 196.0

Hello Everyone!!

I am having a difficult time getting on here everyday like I used to! I have been so stinking busy it's unreal! Studying until my brain is mush..and trust me that doesn't take long..heh.

Well again, not alot to report on my end. Still hitting the gym..Haven't been since Thursday, but will go today. Fridays are impossible, between school and work..But I have been faithfully getting in 4 workouts a week and I cam seeing results! Yipee!! After I finish catching up here I am headed to the Y. Will do an hour of cardio, and depending on how busy it is, I will get some weight workout in as well. Seems like on Saturdays tho, they are really busy and I don't like waiting around for the machines. So, I will see.

Denny called me again on Thursday...It was his birthday and I wished him a Happy Birthday right away and he was surprised that I remembered. He said he had been telling everyone how nice I am..LOL. The reason for his call was that he had a friend over there who wanted him to play the drums and he wanted to ask me if that was ok, as I can hear it over here in my place. I told him that he could play anytime he wanted. In fact I heard him playing on Tuesday night when he thought I was gone to class and I thought it was pretty cool. He seemed pleased that I liked it! On the school front...it's crazy right now. I had a major biology test last Friday that I literally studied 5 days for. It's ridiculous. It covered 5 very detailed chapters, 50 questions. I finished the test feeling like crap because I KNEW I had sucked at it. I asked a few others how they felt and they all said they felt like they did pretty good, which made me feel even worse. Well, we got the tests back yesterday but before he handed them out he told the class that he was very disappointed in the results. The class average was 66% and that was unacceptable he said. 66%! Out of like 70 students! The girl next to me about cried when she got hers, she got 65% on it..I was expecting mine to be even lower, but was shocked when I saw I got a 74%..I passed! Now I am used to getting better grades than that but I am telling you that I will settle for a C in this class...just please let me pass! I was talking to a few other people afterwards yesterday and they all said there was just TOO much information to study...way too much. My take on it is this: if that many students failed the test, then the professor needs to look at what HE is doing wrong. I really believe it's just a matter of breaking the tests down into smaller increments. Anyway, I am rambling now, but it's just frustrating.

Ok..I am off to check up on you all..I am taking the weekend off so NO WORK tonight or tomorrow! Woohoo!! I have alot of studying to do and plan on just relaxing as well...Oh, and hitting the gym of course!!

Everyone have a Wonderful Saturday and stay focused on your goals!!!

Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

mcwoo40 on 02/17/2007:
Hi,well done on passing your test great achievement.I havent been to the gym the last two days and some strange reason i'm missing going as it keeps me focused.Yesterday i had a bad day and today i feel the urge to pick.Anyway keep up the good work,Julie

hollybelle on 02/17/2007:
WOW! look at you! I haven't been on as often as I was, either, but when I came to your diary it really lifted my spirits - your picture. Someone asked if you had darkened your hair but I thought it looked lighter tee-hee. Whatevery it is it looks great and so do you. And wow - 34 pounds gone and counting.

Regarding Biology test. I agree. The teacher should think about what HE can do to help the class. He needs to remember that he is there to teach - whatever it takes to get his students to learn - and sometimes it takes more than others. If no one passed that is an indication that he didn't explain well enough to get the message across. But at any rate - good for you with the 74%. Better than most of the rest of the class.

You know my daughter (sophomore in HS) is taking AP Biology and we have had to get to get a tutor. I think one of the problems was that the teacher had too many students the first semester. Over 1/2 the class dropped out after Christmas. Daughter seems to do better this semester. Teacher has less students to teach.

Have a good one. Holly

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/17/2007:
You did above average on the test. In my book, an "average grade" is a B. So, if you did above average, you get an "A"! Yeah Moody! oh, congrats on the 100s!!!!!!!!! You certainly deserve it!

monet0239 on 02/17/2007:
hey sweetie.. I agree with you on the teacher needed to take it down a few notches.. seems like he would see that.. but.. some teachers.. just dont.. but congrats in passing it hun.. good for you.. :)..

have agreat night off and your tomorrrow.. :).. oh and good for you for getting to the gym in the middle of everything you do!!...clap clap clap.. !! hugs

mylifechanges on 02/17/2007:
good job on getting those workouts in! Especially in the midst of a busy semester- I never could quite seem to do that in college! So CONGRATS! :)

sharklover on 02/17/2007:
I love hearing about Denny. :-) I have so little going on in my life, so hearing about the nice moments in other's lives is fun for me.

I completely know how those classes, like the one you described feel. I wasn never a great student until the end of my college career. Then I got mostly As and Bs, but occasionaly I would get stuck in a class that I just hoped to pass. And yeah, I agree with you, it is the professor's fault. Unfortunately if he has tenure, it wont matter that he sucks.

You're doing great with the exercise! Keep up the great work! And good luck with that class! You can do it!

Not a whole lot to report on my end of things. I woke yesterday feeling incredibly nauseated and like I was going to hurl at any moment. My yoga class was cancelled due to schools being delayed 2 hours, so I skipped the gym. I simply wasn't up to it. I puttered around the house, drinking some Sierra Mist and doing laundry. I began to feel better by early afternoon, thankfully. Still I didn't eat anything until around 5 last night, and that was a turkey sandwich and some chips. Ate a bit more chips than I should've and felt sick to my stomach again last night..*sigh* Kept drinking alot and by this morning I am fine.

Tyler's school is closed due to weather and my classes were delayed 2 hours..Meaning that I didn't have math today but still have sociology and biology, which I am not going to. We are just having lectures in those classes, although we are having our first test in Sociology on Friday and he was going to finish lecturing on Chapter 3. I will just read it and do some heavy studying these next 2 days. The roads are more icy than snowy, and it's snowing now and 16* outside.

The other night, after giving out my number to Denny..he called!! I am such a dork tho..when he called I freaked out and didn't answer! I am such a chicken! Seriously, I freaked. He left a message telling me that he had shoveled the snow to make a path from my back door to his if I wanted to come by. If I wasn't comfortable with that he said he understood and told me to just call him instead. So,after about 15 minutes I gathered my courage and called him..he answered the phone "Hi Suzanne!"..LOL..he had progammed me into his phone already! Anyway, we ended up talking for almost an hour an a half! We talked about alot of different things; what we both did, kids, music (he plays the drums in 2 different bands), even our recent breakups. He was engaged and living with his fiance when they broke up last September. I shared some of what I have been going through..Just a nice guy, and seemed very intelligent. He is a couple years younger than I am. In fact he turns 38 tomorrow..He told me to come over anytime, to "check out his apartment". LOL I am not sure how long or if I will ever gather the courage for that. I am seriously chicken. I keep telling myself that there is no harm in meeting someone and making new friends. I did make the point in telling him that I am just getting out of a relationship and not looking for a new one right now..(I didn't say it exactly like that, but I just wanted him to know that I am basically "damaged goods" right now and not looking for anything) So who knows..LOL

Ok..I am off to check up on you guys quickly, then I need to begin studying..I have to work at 3..hopefully the roads will be ok..

Everyone have a wonderful day and stay strong!!

Progress as of today: 32 lbs lost so far, only 8 lbs to go!

That's so cute, he shovelled a path from your door to his!! He sounds like a nice guy but I don't blame you for being cautious, your break-up is still very fresh! Anyway if he's a nice guy he'll be willing to wait and get to know you slowly!

We are getting a bit of a snow storm here today as well, my daughter's school is closed. Just going to go shovel the drive-way with the kids! Take care!

sasyredneckgirl on 02/14/2007:

sweetpea1977 on 02/14/2007:
So your name is Suzanne? Its funny, but when I saw your most recent picture the other, the name Suzy popped into my head. You just looked like a "Suzy" to me at that moment. Its kinda cool knowing that I wasnt too far off. :o)

Anyway, Denny sounds AWESOME!! Good for you on being cautious though. Enjoy your freedom, the flirting, and building friendships with cute guys! :o)

Jmarie60 on 02/14/2007:
Maybe because I am BITTER, but I am incredibly jealous of how CUTE this guy sounds! I wish someone would shovel a path for me. Awwwe.

I hope you have a good day! Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Oh, and here is the article on HIT. I really do enjoy it and LOVE the fact that it takes so little time. Quality vs. quantity and it works. Take care of yourself!
