Though lovers be lost love shall not. Dylan Thomas
Today I am grateful for: being optimistic (most of the time!), my resolve to endure, my husband (although in hiding!)
Hello Lovely Girls, Forecast 70 degrees with high cloud, perfect! The house is so quiet, too quiet, I can't wait for the children to come back and I still have four days to go!! I awoke with a headache today, really unusual for me and then I remembered that I hadn't had enough water yesterday, dehydrated through the night. Couple of pain killers and two glasses of water and all is right again. Silly girl!
I purchased new walking shoes on Monday and broke them in yesterday on the treadmill, not too bad, a little tight to start off with but fine toward the end except for the heel on the left foot, it is always the left foot (the left side of our bodies being slightly bigger than the right). Anyhoo, it is still a little red a sore this morning so I did my home gym routine rather than risk a blister! That's about it for today, nothing planned, free as a bird! Have a lovely day beautiful girls:)

Today I am grateful for: the people who show us the beauty of this world and beyond, knowing that love is the answer, the potential of people
Hello Lovely Girls, Beautiful morning here, sun is up and we are going for 68 degrees. Perfect! I found today's quote and remembered that Carl Sagan was the first person who I remember ever taking me beyond this world and showing worlds beyond. He had passion and intelligence and is remembered with love. I also love David Attenborough who has spent his life discovering the wonderful creatures both large and small that inhabit our beautiful blue world, his is 84 now and still clambering around the undergrowth and hoisting himself up rain forest trees. I love seeing polar bears swimming underwater, elephants swimming anyhow, seeming so incredible to me. Hammerhead sharks swimming in schools filmed from below, amazing! Schools of shiny silver fish flashing and turning as one in the ocean, perfect symmetry. And of course, my beautiful loyal Emperor Penguins, the males will soon be released from their Winter of shuffling around in close circle to keep warm and their precious eggs protected. Another good thing about warmer weather!!
I think my daughter is coming up today so that we can have a laugh at Damn You Auto Correct, so funny we really have a great time together laughing at the mistakes iphones make when you don't check what they are sending!! Apart from that and a little vacuuming I have nothing on my agenda. I am missing the angel terribly, her games of how much she loves me, all the world, all my heart, all day long, all night long, forever!! I hope you have a good day girls and remember that I love you:)

Progress as of today - 25.1 lbs lost so far, only 61.2 lbs to go!
I love that Auto Correct site. I spent a few hours on that site one day and laughed until my stomach hurt! :)

Today I am grateful for: knowing I am a child of God, being loved, feeling loved
Hello Lovely Girls, I have a cool and cloudy day! Perfect! Well, the story starts with me waking at six, which wouldn't have been so bad but daylight savings started on Sunday morning so we are now on Summer Time. So it was really five o'clock, I forced myself back to sleep and woke again at seven and thought I should get up and get on the treadmill. I should point out that the treadmill is about five feet away from were my daughter sleeps only one level up with a deep wooden floor between us. So, I am thinking that she needs her sleep while she can get it and will I wake her too early. Anyhoo, I have to go out shopping so I put it off until eight o'clock and then discover that I have completely torn through my walking shoes. I must have been working hard!! So got some new ones while I was out shopping and will do my home gym routine today and treadmill tomorrow, turn out my daughter hardly notices the noise from above so I am good to go and not worry about waking her!! Yay!!
If you read yesterday's update you would have read that I received a lovely basket of things at church yesterday including chocolate.!!! Well, ummmm....I give in, I cannot have chocolate in the house, it just calls to me, I can't concentrate on anything and just keep thinking about the damn chocolate. Anyway, no damage done, I had a proper lunch (I don't eat before church, too early) and then ate the chocolate, I ate it all in about five minutes flat, yum, total for the day 1605 dah dah! Yes, princess you shall have your chocolate!! LOL I was totally satisfied for the rest of the day. I have had low calorie totals for most of the week so now it is all gone and I only have healthy food in the house. Well, apart from all the goodes I put in jars for the children, but I have to be really desperate to eat their goodies. I found a new brand of low fat sausage while I was out, I am having a go at making a Lentil Chicken Sausage Soup, Umpqua made one and got my taste buds jumping. Anyhoo, each sausage is only 100 calories and the low fat pork ones where only slightly higher. I love sausages but never buy them because of all the fat. So yay! I am raving on a bit, V says it is the endorphins I have in my system. I hope you girls have a happy and healthy week.:) Love you girls:)

SUNDAY UPDATE: Had a good day yesterday with both eating and exercise. Just got back from church and was given the friendship basket for the month. Lots of lovely meaninful, funny, perfumed things inside as well as strawberries and chocolate. Eeek! I feel strong enough to withstand the thought that I now have chocolate in the house, but can't bear the thought of sending it downstairs. It will wait until I have a day off. Lovely gift of love. I now get to give the friendship basket to somone else next month. Nice!! Hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend girls:)

Today I am grateful for: a cool cloudy day, understanding and patience, getting older and wiser
Hello Lovely Girls, We have been promised a whole week of cool weather with possibility of rain. That makes for a happy moogy!! I had a good day yesterday with my food, and (crossed fingers) seem to be on top of the eating at night bug. I don't expect this to last forever, but I will maintain it for as long as I can. I have absolutely no plans for the weekend, except for church on Sunday. I may watch some movies, do a little reading. For now, it is a deep hot long bath in a quiet house. Bliss!! Have a wonderful weekend girls and remember love 'em if you got 'em:) Love you girls:)

Today I am grateful for: being surrounded by love, knowing there is joy to come, working hard
Hello Lovely Girls, Haven't checked the weather yet, looks like clearing with wind to me! However, I am excited to inform you that after weeks and weeks I have finally changed my posted weight, you might not notice because it is only a smidgen, but it represents several pounds being taken off and put back on and taken off again. Finally I am in the groove and have lost eight pounds, the last five in the last two weeks. I am sooo pleased with myself. It is all down to that treadmill. I hate it and I love it! I didn't think that I would ever join in with the estrogen charged exercise melay going on here at DD's at the beginning, but I am so glad that I did. It has been the exercise that has made all the difference! My yoda, V, gives me my instructions and I just go. I walked for the longest I have ever done, anywhere, since I was a teenager today, the last ten minutes were soo hard, I had a pregnant sweetpea on one side saying "go moogy, go moogy" and V on the other crouched down, fists clenched yelling "COME ON" and despite my lower back complaining and my left knee whimpering I finished. YAY!
The children are disappearing for over a week today, the princess is going today. Her other grandmother is coming down from where she lives a couple of hours up the coast for a picnic with them all today and taking her home to have a sleepover with her same age cousin. Then the rest of them go with their dad for their big adventure travelling for the week to the inland zoo and whatever!! I am not sure I am happy about this, I dare say the first couple of day will be fine. It is the angel I will miss the most, but saying that maybe it is the sweet second eldest boy.....or maybe my so handsome eldest grandson???? It won't be the princess, royalty is so demanding!!! LOL I hope you girls have a good day and remember moogy loves you:)

There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them. ~Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar
Today I am grateful for: my team of regular supporters here, more rain, feeling as though I might do this
Hello Lovely Girls, We are going for a high of 71/33 with rain clearing this morning and a windy afternoon. It did indeed rain again (Yay!) most of yesterday afternoon and into the night. I can feel myself let out a sigh of relief when I here it, because I know water is going into our dams and we really need it!
I recently had a bit of an epiphany about this weight loss journey (getting healthy is a side issue for me) when I was able to get back on the treadmill and really started working hard. I am starting to think that I can do this, reach my goal. Not the 125 pounds or around 50 kilos I am 'suppose' to be. I think I passed that when I was about 15 and haven't been back to check it out since. However, about 15 years ago I lost 30 kilos (a kilo is 2.2 pounds) and was happy with myself and my body. It is about 85 kilos or 187 pounds. I am starting to think that I now know how to do it. I know it sounds strange but it isn't about what I do as in eating and exercising, I have been doing that on and off for 40 years. I is about how I think about it, it is like a light bulb has switched on. I really think I can do it now:) I have all these fabulous clothes sitting in my wardrobe waiting for me (which is the reason I want to lose weight), I want to look good and feel good in my clothes.:)
Anyhoo, today was suppose to be my home gym routine but I couldn't resist the call of the treadmill (I can see you smiling V!!) so I did 30 minutes with HIT intervals and still managed to get my heart rate up to 170. Whoo Hoo!! Have a great day girls, love you:)

Great suggestion on the savory topping. I have another half of the brick of tofu I got, so maybe I'll try something like that with it.
We have a nice amount of space in our back woods, plus we're surrounded by my neighbor's woods (something like 100 acres) so I can't wait until the boys are big enough to go back there on their own and explore. I grew up with woods too and spent hours exploring nature :) Have a good one!
Great job with the exercise Nana! :) xo

Today I am grateful for: a blue and white striped sky, bright pink geraniums, feeling good (again!)
Hello Lovely Girls, Forecast 77 with 70% chance of rain, wouldn't that be lovely!! More wet lovely rain!! Anyhoo! I have finished my treadmill and am sitting here with the back of my hair soaking wet, how I wish that I up took endorphins, I bet I would be really buzzed, damn Dysthymia!!! I can feel my body tingling and that is about it. However, I feel good that I forced myself out of bed and worked hard, it is always a battle when you don't really have to get out of bed, but once I get started and the music is booming I'm off!!
I only know that the angel will visit today and I think I may be baking with the princess as well. Apart from a little cleaning that is all I have planned for the day, although thinking about it, it is indoor soccer tonight and I probably will have the little girls for a short time then as well. So it will be a girlie day today!! Not too bad at all:) I hope you all have lovely days:) Love you girls:)

Today I am grateful for: sleepovers with the princess, feeling good, my many blessings
Hello Lovely Girls, A perfect 73 degrees today, who could ask for more? Not me! I am so excited, the scale is moving down and I suspect that it is because of the hard work I have been putting in on the treadmill. Although today it was my home gym routine, I have to look after my knees! I am less than a pound from my posted weight! Yay!
It is 8.30 on Tuesday morning and I still have the princess with me as no one downstairs is awake. She has been down twice but everyone is still asleep, that angel will sleep until well past nine if left to her own devises. I am expecting a visit from the angel later in the morning, but apart from that and my own cooking, I have nothing planned for the day. Having the children on holiday is like having a holiday myself! I hope you have a healthy eating day:) Love you girls:)

Today I am grateful for: my body, laughing children, my son
Hello Lovely Girls, Going for a top of 68 degrees today, it is cloudy with no sign of the sun!! Yay!! I have just finished my treadmill and am sitting here bright red and dripping with sweat. I have never worked out so hard in my life!! I am enjoying the results of the workout if not the actual hard work. My scale showed me a loss of two pounds over the weekend. I think the hard work is paying off and giving me the incentive to go harder!!! Not long to go before I can change that posted weight!!
I have the princess with me at the moment, she just came up, her mom is taking the angel to pre-school. I can tell she is growing up, I gave her the option of watching Dora or Spongebob and she choose the later!! Such a relief not to have that high pitched little wretch rambling on. Sweetpea knows what I mean!! Plus I find Spongebob slightly amusing sometimes:) I don't know what the day holds for me as I have to be on call due to the children being at home. Anyhoo, I started my week of well and am planning on having a good one. I hope that you have a happy and healthy week as well.:) Love you girls:)

SUNDAY UPDATE: Had a hungry day yesterday but managed to keep everything undercontrol. Yay! It is raining here, I repeat raining!!! Wonderful wet stuff. Hasn't rained in over a month, plus we even got enough to get some in the gutters. I guess my moaning has really worked. It is only 60 degrees today, what a strange weather week, 86 on Wednesday, had the air conditioner on. Just got back from church and had to put the heater on. I will take it while I can. Have a good rest of the weekend girls:)

Today I am grateful for: a still, quiet morning, an overcast sky, white blossoms on our trees
Hello Lovely Girls, Someone must have heard me moaning, we are getting three days of not above 72 degrees!! Yay! It is 8.15am on Saturday morning, the children are at their dad's, I hear no movement from downstairs. I have finished my exercise, killer by the way!! V told me how to do HIT interval training and 10 mins later I am still fogging up my reading glasses. I definitely didn't glisten, I was sweating!! Not nice V!! I really didn't want to do the third HIT but pushed on anyway.
I have only one thing on the agenda for the day, my daughter wants to go through the too big little girls clothes, she will need back up for this. She has only just thrown out the sterilizer and bottles from the biggest boy, although I understand her reasons for keeping that. He was born at 29 weeks, so she had a particularly strong attachment to that. I didn't have the best of day with my eating yesterday, nothing too bad just not what I planned, I think that lying scale got to me. Funny how those things sneak up on you from an oblique angle and you don't realize the cause until the eating is over. I am learning as I am going!! I hope you have a good weekend, and remember love 'em if you got 'em:) Love you girls:)
Exercise 30 mins on Treadmill with 3 x 2 min HIT intervals. Peak heart rate 156
