 Happy day everyone!

Off for a thermal scan this afternoon after work - another test my DO thinks I should have, that I'm getting just to get her off my back lol. At least it isn't invasive or radiation. Then home to get dinner started before a board meeting this evening. I wish we could have them during the day, everyone else is retired, anyway, but they are always at night, and you know how "boards" can be... :)

Geez I sound like a grouch this morning, but I'm not. I don't like meetings. Remember the movie Grosse Pointe Blank? When Martin is asked to join the hit-man union he asks if there will be meetings. When Dan Akroyd's character says "of course," Martin says, "no meetings" and shoots him. Yeah, that's how I feel about meetings ")

Breakfast: Oatmeal (150) raspberries (65) coffee w/cream(45) total: 260

lunch: piece of spinach lasagna from the other night: about 400

dinner: brown rice and mushroom stuffed pepper (250) (got home from my meeting at 9, didn't really want to eat at all, but did eat the 1/2 pepper :)

snacks: apple (80) chocolate (90)

total: 1080

Rainy morning, so glad I took two walks yesterday. I can stay in and drink tea all afternoon if I want. :)

Feeling very positive about things lately. The scale has been "stuck" a couple days, but that doesn't make a plateau....I think things are going well and I am definitely looking better. Although I did somehow lose fat in my face and now have these lovely little lines around my eyes. sigh. Why is it we lose it where we don't care? cheeks and elbows, seriously? I suppose my toes are skinnier, too?? :)

Breakfast: oatmeal (150) plum (30) coffee w/cream (45) total: 245

lunch: bean soup (180), plum (30), tiny bit of leftover salad (35) total: 245

snack: apple (80) 2 pieces of chocolate (90) total: 170

dinner: orange roughy, pan fried (200?) braised spinach (70) poached pear (100), green beans (25) piece of Ezekial bread (80) total: 475

coffee w/cream (45)

total: 1180

I find I cannot eat as much in one sitting as I could before, so keeping calories low is easier, but this is a little too low for today. Or maybe not, if I spend most of the day sitting at work and home because of the rain. :) 

I actually went shopping instead of sitting home, so burned off some aggravation calories, at least, waiting in line forever to pay :)

They have all sorts of injections to pump those things up. Still wt loss is definitely the gift that keeps on giving for better or for worse--haha!

I figured that! Not one to get anything "injected." I don't mind a few lines - I've earned them. I'd rather have lines than be overweight and unhealthy :)

Hello MG! Yes, you can definitely lose fat in your feet! :) I have a coworker who lost a tremendous amount of weight (maybe at least 50lbs if not more) and he commented how his shoe size went down and even his NECK size went down! like I said, he lost a ton of weight.

I know my shoe size has gone down and up in the past, too, with weight gain. It's just that I don't particularly care if my feet are a 7 or an 8....I'd rather have my dress and bra size get smaller. But I guess we can't choose :)

Happy Sunday! Another beautiful sunny fall day here in Michigan.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to our Canadian friends :)

 Yesterday I cleaned the garage, found all the garden surprises and brought my succulents and houseplants indoors. Husband worked on finishing up our back fence - a summer-long project, almost done now. Hopefully next year we can put one up the side of the yard, too. At least now I can walk through the garage without fear of being crushed in an avalanche! I was so tired I just took and bath and went to bed last night, without a walk. I don't like walking after dark if he doesn't go with me, anyway :(

Work this afternoon, and perhaps farmer's mkt if I can get him out of bed in time..

Big pot of soaked beans in the crockpot for soup-I should be able to freeze and have for a while. Raven inspired me to do soups!

Breakfast: oatmeal (150) plum (30) coffee w/cream (45) total: 245

lunch: none

dinner; vegetable lasagna (500), tossed salad (120) poached pear (150) total: 770

 Happy Saturday everyone!

Beautiful day here today, sunny and cool. Will be working in the yard, getting the garden "surprises" (little statues my husband buys me) cleaned and put away before winter.

The dress project turned out great - fits beautifully and looks good. I'll wear it to work tommorrow. Today I am wearing a skirt I've had for 10 years, that I can finally fit into again! What a great feeling.

Extra post for today .... I just decided what I would like to do when I reach my ultimate goal (aside from fitting into my new girdle)

I want a second honeymoon with the husband. My goal date is our anniversary (29). And if I don't get one this year, the 30th will work to.

Now to decide where to go.....

 Amazing how energized I feel with the cooler weather. Took granddaughter for a walk to the park, and still walked with husband after dinner. 3 days in a row I got in a little extra activity.

made a good crustless seafood quiche for dinner, and there are plenty of leftovers. Also did a soup with turnips and sweet potatoes - rather low in calories and very tasty, so I have nice healthy lunches for a couple of days.

Going to make a caponata ratatouille instead - I got all the veggies for it. Yum-today -which is always awesome and even better the second day - that will be for tomorrow's dinner. :)

Found a dress I sewed years ago that never fit correctly, so decided to take that apart and use it for a dress that fits now. I liked the fabric, and couldn't throw it out even though it was not really wearable then - way too large everywhere except too tight at the waist. :(

I could not believe how large that dress was! I don't want to spend $$ on fabric right now, and this will be using up a "wadder" and hopefully getting a useful article of clothing out of it! Already have the bodice basted and re-fitted, so I should have time to sew today and perhaps have a new dress.

 Weight keeps going in little bits. I really like weighing every day. If there is a little jump up one day, I check to see if my rings are tight, and know its water - usually too much sodium-and then expect the next day there will be another drop. There is something to the fat cells hanging on to water just to see if you're going to give them more fat before they give in and close up shop. :) Knowing I am accountable every day keeps my resolve to eat better. I have noticed the people who blog here every day seem to stick with the plan, too, so I will keep that up.

It just occurred to me that I am 1/3 of the way to my goal!!!! woohoo!

Breakfast: egg (I needed a change!) (100) 1/2 avocado (175) coffee w/ cream (45) 325 

Its surprising how many more calories that is than the oatmeal and fruit!

lunch: cheese (225) gluten free sesame crackers (130) grapes (50) total: 405

dinner: crustless seafood quiche (400) 

snack: 2 pieces chocolate (90)

daily total: 1220

Yesterday was a better day.

730 calories, sometimes our bodies need only 700-1000 on regime. But i read recommended is 1300-1500 daily regular intake. hope u keep it and have a good day

Thanks for all the support and kind comments during the last couple of days. Things have settled, for the moment, although problems are not resolved, there isn't anything I can do for the time being. BP was ok yesterday and not bad this morning, and I have been taking lots of long walks to reduce stress. Thankfully I have a pretty good umbrella!

Wednesday is the "end" of the work week for me, and it always used to be my "trigger" to drink. It is so nice now not dealing with that. I think I am facing things head-on now and finding constructive ways to deal with day to day issues. I just realized I have not complained about joint pain in over a month! It must be the anti-inflammatory diet working. Less pain = less need for medication. :)

I was always a very active and healthy person when I was younger, and I honestly feel like I did 15 years ago (I was in my 30s, for reference). I am astonished at how much it has helped. Even my skin looks better - people are surprised I am a grandmother. (I think I look my age, just a well-cared for middle age, lol)

Anyway, lots of wrinkles cropping up from weight loss in my face, so being extra-vigilant about skin treatments these days. I'd rather have crows feet than be overweight and not healthy.

 Well, I got through the awful day yesterday with only a very small piece of cake and runny mascara for damages. :)

Today is a bit better - problems not solved, but contained, and what is left is not so much my responsibility anymore. Stress level is back to "alive" not "run away." I do wish, for everyone in the world, they could see the importance of what they do on a daily basis. Every day is a gift, and if you waste your time with stupid things, stupid people, stupid arguments, you are wasting your precious hours of life.

There's the end of the sermon. Sorry, had to get that out. :)

Now for what is going IN:

I get where you are coming from. I really let my health suffer during a time of trying to deal properly (I thought) with family. It took awhile for me to sort it out. We have to try to put ourselves first because more than likely no one else is going to do it, much less suggest it.

I see the loss posted--may be small, but it's always life-affirming:-)

 Happy Monday? Allergies are so crummy, I wanted to stay in bed. But I'm up, taking Claritin and it will all be ok.... I'm just whining. 

BP has been  up a little, but there has been some family stress. I seriously need to learn to control stress, maybe start yoga again or something? My old way of dealing with it was drinking lol. Well, that's not happening anymore!!! I actually got through the entire party without having a single drink, and it wasn't even that difficult. I'm quite happy with myself for that. Anyway, there's no other reason for the bp to be up, so I am going to say it's stress, and keep with the plan for now.

lunch: leftover samosas again? seriously, how many of these did we make???? (340) plus I ate 4 chicken thingy's leftover (180) having a really bad day, trying not to eat myself into calmness... :( total: 520

Ok, i lost the battle to stress and ate a piece of cake :( Not proud of myself, probably undoing all the good I have done, but this day kinda sucks, and it is stupid that I am punishing MYSELF for it, but I don't know what else to do. (400)

daily total: 1510 - way over my goal, but it was a crummy day, so I don't really care...

And to think, I used to hate oatmeal. All my growing up years, my mother had to put chocolate in mine to get me to eat it. I hated it that much. Now i eat it every morning with nothing - no butter, honey, syrup etc., just cut up fruit if I have it. Weird....

Yesterday, October 5, was 29 years that my husband and I met. We were so busy yesterday, I even forgot to tell him "Happy October 5th" like we usually do :( 

Seriously, can I divorce my kids? 

Just kidding. I think....

You're doing a great job--I think:-)

When we were little, my mother's oatmeal was a treat--butter, brown sugar and milk.

I used to eat it with apple sauce on the go. Now I like it plain with sometimes a little fruit and flaxseed meal added.
