Hey...I'm still here!!! I'm all moved into my new apartment and today one of my friends is coming over to help me put up a couple of pictures. Then it's off to find a book case to which, I'm sure, will involve alot of cussin' trying to put it together. I've got boxes and boxes of books to still unpack. Ohhh...and I suppose I should buy drapes. They've been off my radar for like....ummmm...30 years. Nothing I've ever done before but I think may pull the place together.
I would like to say it went well...which it did...however, a week goes by and I see my two felines scratching and scratching. I turn one over. to look at their bellies....flea dirt!! $%^#!!!!!! I'm like a maniac trying to get these things. I was told I got a new rug, in which case, could it have been in the mover's truck? Did they put my furniture on the grass? By the size of the beasts, I suspect they were already in the apartment.....regardless of the new rug. So, got the cats some meds but now I'm dealing with the offspring. I salted the carpet a couple of times (dries them and their eggs out) and I vacuum everyday. I'm getting most of it but....just dealing with the outcome of the flea orgies that must have gone on. I think my neighbors must say, "All she ever does is vacuum and curse!!" Because, as I'm vacuuming, this is me: "I'll get you, you *bleeping!!* sleeper cells!!!"
Needless to say, not much snacking going on. But, at the same time, I've been doing two jobs so I get a workout maybe twice a week. No bueno but I suppose the vacuuming and cleaning all the time counts for something.
And...one day....my car drove me straight to Weight Watchers!! I kept telling myself that I couldn't afford it until the other half of the brain said, "Duh!!! It's not like you will be paying forever!!!" So, been doing super with my diet and very happy I joined!!! I seriously don't count the points because dieting is just common knowledge for me at this point. It's a matter of sticking to what I know and getting the job done!! So, I'm committed to getting weighed in everyweek and attending the meetings. So far, so good!!!
Alrighty, time to check up with you guys!!
Happy weekend!!
Progress as of today - 12 lbs lost so far, only 21 lbs to go!
Okay...diet was not good yesterday or on Friday so I got to make up for it this week.
Went to the gym in my new complex on Friday and it wasn't too bad. Lots of cardio equipment, which I like, and very limited weights so it looks like I will be doing my cardio there and then come home and use the weights that I have. No biggie. They also have an abdominal machine there that does diddly squat!! So, will be doing abs at my place too.
I need to explore the hiking trails here once I get more settled in. Today I'm going to do the elipitical and weights because I'm still getting my new pad in order.
Went on a horseback ride through the vineyards yesterday. My friends and I REALLY had a great time becuase the outfit let us go on the trail ahead of every one else and handle the horses. Not many places will allow you to do that but they had their hands full with beginners. I was kind of dreading the day because I just did not have the energy to do anything after my busy week. SOOO glad I went because I had a smile on my face the whole time. Afterwards we went to the family run vineyard and sat on their patio with a glass of wine. It was lovely and just what the doctor ordered.
Okay...time to get my butt out of bed and onto the eliptical machine!! Enjoy your Sunday!!

How coming moving seems soooooo much harder now then it was years ago. I AM EXHAUSTED!!! I'm down to 2 boxes but I'm kind of bewildered where I'm going to put it. I can't believe that I was able to fit all my stuff in a smaller apartment.
Sooooo....now I just have to get used to the idea that I can see what my neighbor is eating for dinner. LOL. I've never lived this close to other people. Quite a shock but I'm a very adaptable person.
My booty has been moving non-stop since Saturday. Up and down the stairs. Back and forth carrying boxes. I have to say I'm thankful that I'm still a very active person and I'm able to do this. If I had NOT been a hiker, it would have been very hard. My parking spot is SOOO far away from my apartment. Well...I guess I will be building muscles carrying all my bags up these steps.
I'll be happy to get into my normal routine on Monday.....however....I found out one of my co-workers will be going on vacation for two weeks which means...I will be doing their job too. GREAT!!! No sooner does he come back then another co-worker goes away and I'll be doing their job too. $%$#@!!!! What can I do? A month out of my life, I suppose. That's all it is.
Diet has been okay. No snacking obviously because of being so busy. I'm hoping to start eating normally by Sunday. Going to check out the gym in the comlex tomorrow. They seem to have a lot of cardio equipment so, being that I'm only down to 2 boxes, I'd like to get a workout in. Once things have settled down, I'm going to check out all the hiking trails in the area....and hope for no rattlesnakes or mountain lions.
Hope you all are doing well!!!

Jeezzz...I'm SO glad this week is over. Another very hectic day at work. What a mess!! I'm off all of next week so I'm hoping that miraculously everything will clear up when I go back on the 21st.
So,busy weekend ahead of me....picking up the keys to my new place, cleaning it...even though I'm sure it's clean already, bring a couple boxes over, pack a couple more boxes, etc, etc. I'm so happy I'm almost at the end of it all. Yay!! Just a couple more weeks and things will be routine again.
So, diet was okay today...won't be a weight loss day but will not be a weight gain day either.
Breakfast: Oatmeal with nuts and skim milk
Snack: 1 apple
Lunch: Subway Veggie Delight (6") sandwich...no dressing...all veggies, avocado, 1 slice of cheese
Snack: Grapefruit
Dinner: Albacore sashimi, Aji sashimi and shared a hot sake with my friend
Enjoy your weekend!!!

Okay. I'm back. I'm done. Seems that whenever I start a diet....I gain weight. Cleared my calendar of anything social so I can nail this thing. I need to get back into 'the zone' and once I'm there, I'll be fine.
Only got one hike in this week because of work. $%$#!!!!! Kept me late again today. Dang it!!! I had to stay tonight because I'm off all of next week and I'm trying to get things in order. I'll be moving so I know I'll be getting my workout then!!
Loads of stress going on in my life....moving, work is a cluster you-know-what, I thought the cat was taking a downword slide but she seems a bit better today (her kidneys are starting to fail) and then I got my parents to worry about...my Mom with Dementia and my Dad being her caretaker. It's no wonder why I haven't been able to focus in on a diet.
Anyway, I did well today:
Breakfast: 2 slices of 21 grain bread (yes, that's 21 grains!! 4 grams of fiber in each slice and only 70 calories per slice) W/ 1 T of low fat peanut butter
Snacks: Banana, grapefruit
Lunch: Salad with grilled salmon
Snack: Craisins
Dinner: Bowl of shredded wheat with low fat milk and sliced strawberries
Alrighty guys, more updates tomorrow.
Have a good evening!!!

Ah yes, today is a new day and I got clarity on the inhaler that I was using for my Asthma. Luckily I have a very mild case so as of this moment, I won't be needing it. Explains my appetite.
I've promised myself to get back on track today. I know what needs to be done so, there you have it.
Off for a nice hike tonight.
Happy Monday, All!

Hey all!!!!
Well, got a lot packed so i feel I'm in a good place to have a little fun now. The biggest thing I need to tackle today is cleaning the oven. Has anyone ever used their self cleaning function on their oven? It kind of scares me using it so I've been doing it by hand.
Okay...so hadn't been feeling well since January when I had a cold. Been hacking away for months and just generally exhausted. Went to the doctor and it's Asthma. I usually get attacks when I'm sick with Bronchitis but I think with my packing all these boxes, as well as the time of the year with things blooming, it was probably triggered by allergies. Feeling better because I was given an inhaler. But I do have a question for you all: Is the inhaler a steriod??? My appetite has increased TEN FOLDS!! UGH!!! I did something that I would never normally do....went to our new Whole Foods bought 5 rugalach cookies as well as one Italian Biscotti. Hello???? I NEVER do that!! The 5 cookies was my dinner last night...or so I thought...because I had also bought this slab of beef. Geez. OUT OF CONTROL!!! When I normally think about foods like that, I always think about what my arteries would look like if I eat them and not necessarily what my butt will look like. It didn't work yesterday. But, today is a new day (as I sit here and chomp down on the one remaining biscotti with my tea. At least it's gone now)
Just getting back into hiking again this week. Did some dancing on Saturday and maybe later today, now that they hour has changed, do a walk at night.
Hope you guys are all well and please enjoy your Sunday!!!

I'd call and talk to the pharmacist where you had the prescription filled. They are extremely helpful and can always answer questions or concerns you may have.
Hang in there!
Hi folks!
I'm still here. Busy collecting boxes, donating items and packing up the old place. I've come across stuff I have not seen in years.....sooooo...it gets donated. No sense in me keeping it if I haven't used it. I'm trying to not be too sentimental about things. Of course there are a few items I can't get rid of but on the most part...heave-ho!!
So, I'm exhausted but on the plus side....I'm only eating three meals a day. Keeps me away from the food which is a PLUS about moving.
I've had a persistent hacking cough since January that seemed to intensify. Got a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Most likely it's going to turn out to be allergies, I'm just guessing, but, want to make sure it's not pneumonia or bronchitis which I'm prone to.
So, you all enjoy your Sunday and I hope you all have a great day!!

You know...it was just one of those HORRIBLE days!!! I once again did NOT get a good night's sleep so I was a bit tired at work. Then I try to help someone who then snaps back @ me with a snotty remark...in front of my co-workers. So, I left work feeling very defeated. On the plus side...it didn't make me want to eat!! I have learned what emotions make me eat and what ones don't. Getting depressed/sadness...not hungry. Anger/frustration....'get out of my way and give me all the chocolate you may have!!' Boredom.....'let's make pancakes...then have chocolate chip cookies...oh hey...I have a whole hunk of cheddar cheese,' etc, etc.!!!
So, left work kind of sad and I cancelled going on my hike. But, I used my time wisely and went to my complex's office to complain about the $100 a month rent increase....and also complain that the apartment next to me is advertising for $130 less!! $%#@!!!!!!! I left with them telling me they would try to work something out. Instead....I went to my friend's complex...saw an apartment...BOOM!!! Moving!! And it is actually cheaper than what I'm paying now by $40!!! Yay for me!!!
One less thing to worry about. Now, onto packing. I usually lose ALOT of weight when I move so this will be a very good thing!!!
Diet today was super...very healthy with whole grains, fruits and veggies. May be lacking in the protein area though. And, I left my Greek yogurt home so I didn't have my 3:00 snack. My eggs are getting old so time to hard boil them. I use those for a quick protein snack however I did stink up the office. Oh well. It's all about me anyway.
You all have a good night!!
