Day 4 of the South Beach diet:

All is well for both Hubby and me.  I've lost 2 pounds and hubby has lost 4.  Probably water weight, but that's ok, it's weight anyway.   Hubby is 6'5", so he will lose pounds faster -  No need to be envious or competitive.  I'm actually thrilled for him!  And for me, too, of course..  Cheers to all! 

Progress as of today: 19 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

Hey Selina,

Just thought I drop by and say hi and to let you know that Im back. Im going to try my best to post every day, even if it is just my foods and activities. Honestly, Im kinda tired of writing my feelings down, especially since they've been the same for the past year and a half. So Im just sticking to the basics until something good happens. My main goal is to record my choices on a daily basis to see if it will encourage me to stay on track (and help me see some physical results).

Hi all! 

 

Sorry I've been absent - I have no good excuses to be away, just that I was lazy and didn't feel like writing foods down.   Anyway, all is well around here.  My husband said he needs to lose some weight around his waist and wanted to go on the south beach diet.  He happens to have lost about 15 pounds before in the course of a month doing that diet.  Back then, I had all the food delivered to us for a whole month (a small fortune, but it was worth it) but this time around I bought the book and am cooking and following the recipies myself.  Since I am doing it for him, I might as well join him, so this is our 3rd day of the diet.  I am not a diet fan but we both can feel the benefits already - besides, this strict regimen is just temporary and 2 weeks of no carbo will go by quickly.   Anyway, the foods are quite similar to the ones I normally eat, anyway, so no big change there except for the smaller portions and lack of carbo.    Will keep you posted about the results.  Cheers to all!

I did the South Beach a few years back and enjoyed it..The H/A 3-4 days in wasn't so fun, but finally the withdrawls subsided & I eventually took off 26#'s.....

I was too busy to log in this weekend... which went past so fast and in a blur.  But I do remember going to a fashion show and a concert on Sat night and ironing 21 shirts for my husband on Sunday afternoon, while watching 2 movies in a row.  A mix of feeling glamourous and "domestic" over the weekend...  Dietwise, I guess it was OK, nothing spectacular...

Monday's menu:

Coffee, jam on english muffin 300

Snack:3 crackers 50 (350)

Lunch:oatmeal 250 (600)

Snack:

Dinner:

Tuna on crackers sounds delicious! I love fish...sardines...fresh fish like bream...salty fish like flounder... I enjoy tuna, too! And I LOVE crackers! Thanks for your comments...glad to hear that your cat, Selena is doing well. She is so pretty!!!

Yesterday I had a minor slip up with chocolates - my friend went to a chocolate factory over the weekend and brought me a small bag of chocolate covered almonds and left the bag on the door knob when i was gone during the day... when i came back, I was so hungry I started eating it and between my daughter and I, the whole little bag was gone in minutes!

Today's food:

breakfst: coffee, muesli  270

snack: nbanana70 (340)

lunch: eggs 180, english muffin 240 , eggplant/bell pepper, cucumber salad (1000)

snack:crackers & jam 200 (1240)

dinner:pasta with tuna n veggies 400 (1640)

exercise:none

Chocolate covered almonds is probably my VERY, VERY, VERY FAVORITE CANDY there is!!!! Who can resist???? When Hubby and I go to the beach, he usually buys me some. It is sooooo goood!

Is your cat, Selena better? Hope she is.

WoW ~ That is awesome that your husband joined you in your walk..... I know it slows me down when my family goes with me, but that is'nt neccessarily a bad thing...I love having their company at times....
