Hi!

I'm back! Well actually returned late Saturday from New Zealand but have been busy this week.

I had a fabulous trip. many miles on the road but we wanted to see as much as possible. The scenery was spectacular and we had some fun adventures- a jetboat ride down a river and a small plane ride over snow capped mountains to a cruise on Miford Sound. Beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, mossy  forests, pastures with sheep and cows.We saw penguinsand interesting birds which was fun. We were in some remote areas and one evening we drove into a small town that began as a mining town. We didn't have any reservations but saw a motel with a vacancy light on. Noone around but a sign that said to pick up the phone & the owner gave us the code to a locked box with the keys and said make ourselves at home & pay in the cafe across the street in the morning. We were the only guest s that night. Had fig scones and a flat white coffee in the morning at the Walnut Creek cafe!

And as for food- well let me just say that New Zealand has great lamb, beef, fish and seem to trun out fine baked goods as well, Also wine, fruit, and dairy products. So I managed to sample all of the above and gained afew pounds. I am doing well this week and hope to shed those pounds.

This week making a concerted effort with exercise and eating light- trying to stick with fish and chicken and limiting my starches.

Will try to read some posts. It's nice to be back!

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 05/09/2012:
Welcome back, the trip sounds incredible!

V on 05/09/2012:
Welcome back :) I am sure you have plenty of beautiful pics, I can't wait to see them!

selina on 05/09/2012:
Wow, your account of New Zealand sounds idyllic. I want to go there, too! ;) I also can't wait for the photos!

Moving is always a hassle although I've done it on a regular basis, every 4 years on average, in the past 25 years. One can make it as easy or as difficult as you wish. I don't do much, really, just let the movers deal with our stuff. I don't even take down the paintings from the walls - the movers take them down and pack. They also pack straight from the china cabinet. We are allowed to take almost 8,000 lbs in household goods via sea (about 7 crates, that's a lot), 700lbs via unaccompanied air, as many as 3 pieces of accompanied luggage(per person), the rest stay in storage in the US. Mainly furniture usually stay in storage because we always get furnished homes. The cats go unaccompanied cargo - poor things. They always survive but they lose several pounds during the ordeal.

moogy on 05/09/2012:
I knew you would have to buy a coat of some kind, NZ is damn cold!! even in Summer!! So glad you had a good trip, it is a pretty spectacular country, I know many people who come from NZ and now live in Australia, they call us the mainland:) In fact there are kiwi's everywhere! glad you are home safe and sound:) Back to the serious stuff!

grannyannie on 05/10/2012:
Welcome back! I'd love to visit NZ! Sounds like an amazing trip. Love the motel story!

We are always going to the US at about the same time! :-)

Hi-

Just a quick note as I am 90 % packed but there are always those little things that I tend to forget. And then the question of - bring a small suitcase as I'll be shlepping it around myself or bring a larger suitcase for those items i might buy. Going with the smaller one & can always buy a small bag for whatever I buy.I always think about the size 4 women who can pack alot into a small suitcase. :) Not something I'll have to worry about.

Won't have a chance to respond to everyone but thanks for the good wishes and yes Moogy I have a few warm clothes but I am afraid that I might end up buying a warmer jacket. I missed the season here when they were selling warmer clothing.

Hoping to keep in mind that I can sample some foods but 1, I do not have to eat everything on my plate  and 2. I will pick & choose only food that I will absolutely enjoy and I will try to avoid unhealthy snacking. I'll report back on how this plan worked.

Not looking forward to the long flight..... But just a warm up for going back to the States in June.

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

You probably won't see this today but I hope you have an amazing and safe trip!!

grannyannie on 04/25/2012:
Didn't notice where you were headed. Enjoy wherever it is! I'm going to Michigan end of May but my flights are much shorter - the longest is only 8 hours.

Im just now getting caught up with everyone after my break of posting publicly. Wow, New Zealand! I wish I there with you! That is one of my dream vacations. I hope you're having an amazing time and taking a billion pictures. :) Happy birthday to you and your hubby!

moogy on 04/30/2012:
I bet you will be buying a warmer jacket!!! Have a wonderful time. I will look forward to the report afterward or even during if you have the time. Good idea to eat a little of the food that you really love, that way you get to enjoy and not feel deprived:)

Hi all DD friends,

This is a great place to sort things out. And no i didn't come to any great revelations as to why I can't seem to budge off  this weight. And right now is not the time to make any huge changes. We leave for new Zealand on Wed.. for 10 days & I hear the food is very good there . It 's also my birthday & my husband's b'day during that time. So I hope to return without doing serious damage, if you get my drift...

Back to the question & lack of answers- I thought I was making progress with stepping up my exercise- with the 3 times a week of walking/ jogging with a little running thrown in but no return on that - athough i do enjoy it, so there you go I guess that's positive. But anyway-i figure I would have to cut down on my total of calories each day & I'm not ready to do that. And also i get bored here on the 14th floor some days & yes I may eat out of boredom & sadness .....

So, it's Sunday night - had a nice weekend of dinner out with a group of people, some from my museum program on Sat., church today & then met my friiend for coffee this afternoon. Also  long walk today. My husband made dinner tonight- fish & rice with a nice fruit salad.

I have been here on DD for about a year. I know I started around my birthday. And I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read my posts and to comment. This is the first time that I have lost weight without being in a formal program like WW & the first time in many years that I have kept the weight off for this lengthof time which to me is huge. So thank you to all of my DD friends. I wish I could send you flowers and give you all a big hug!

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 04/22/2012:
Congrats on your success! You did it--it's your accomplishment for sure!

I completely give credit to this site and continuing to post for keeping a certain amount of my weight off--don't ask me how--I just know there's nothing else I can give credit to.

Cheers!

V on 04/22/2012:
Happy Anniversary <3 :) I am happy that you found your way to DD!

Umpqua on 04/23/2012:
Happy DD anniversary to you! You have made amazing progress and you should be very proud. And I know you'll figure out the next step in this journey. In the meantime, have an AMAZING trip to NZ, I can't wait to hear all about it!!

selina on 04/23/2012:
That's amazing what you've accomplished in one year! Congratulations! Enjoy your trip to NZ, take lots of photos! I adore this site, it's the only way to keep me centered! I can't talk about anybody in my "real life" about my weight loss/gains/problems, they'd be too bored and I would scare them away, jk, so this site is my last resort. I hope you can keep posting on a regular basis even when you are busy traveling... although I know it's difficult... Do you have a gym in your building?

moogy on 04/24/2012:
I think that just trying to figure things out is the hardest bit about losing weight and keeping it off. As long as you are willing to keep trying you are on the right path. Plus, there are more ways of measuring success, how your clothes feel, how much healthier you are getting etc. I always think it is good to have celebrations bunched together:) Working on the principle that it lessens the damage (I have no scientific knowledge to back this up I must admit!). Pack warm clothes for NZ won't you:)

Hi all-

Had a good game of golf. i played with a woman who is just playing for the second time. She will be a good golfer. Just a sweet woman who said " wow, look at that!" when I had a good shot. Soon she will surpass most of us on the 9 hole group who all play about the same. She drove me home since I couldn't get a taxi & so good that she did as it just poured and I would still be there waiting for a taxi since it's impossibe to get a taxi in the rain. She's Chinese, has lived in Hong Kong, Paris and Jakarta- so interesting to get to know people from all over the world.

Yesterday ended up fine. Today B- eng muff w/butter & honey: lunch - will be a  bowl of tomato soup, snacks planned- carrots with  hummus, yogurt w a little lemon curd, dinner- TBD

Ok off to heat up some soup and think about what Moogy said...... No promises that I'll have "the answer" but basically I need to think about why I am not willing to change my eating to get on with losing some weight.

Cheers!

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

selina on 04/19/2012:
Golfing sounds like a lot of fun - with all the walking, you may get some real good exercise! My friends's daughter lost a lot of weight (around 30 lbs)when she took up golf as a teen because juniors are not allowed to have caddies to carry their gear, they have to carry their own stuff. I hope you'll find "the answer" in your own time... Meanwhile, stay well and keep it up!

Em17 on 04/19/2012:
Sounds like fun!

grannyannie on 04/19/2012:
It's nice you get to meet so many people from different cultures.

RYC: did you get to tour around Scotland when you came or did you just visit Glasgow?

V on 04/19/2012:
Hey there! Happy to hear you had a nice golf outing :) RYC For my Apppletini's I use a Citrus Vodka, Apple Pucker and triple sec, if you like them extra tart, squeeze fresh lemon wedge or a splash of sour mix..If you want to do a "skinny version" skip the triple sec and sour, it is just as tasty without the extra sugars :P have a good one!!

Umpqua on 04/19/2012:
I scrolled down to Moogy's comment and I don't think the answers will be easy to come by. Anything involving change is tough, and making a regular and constant change to eating habits is a big deal. You are a very healthy eater so it's a matter of fine tuning and figuring out what you need to do in the long term to achieve your goals. And it has to be a solution that doesn't leave you feeling deprived and resentful, it must be sustainable. There is no one-size-fits-all solution here, we can all share with each other what works for us but ultimately you have to figure out what will work best for you and get you the results you want. I know you'll come up with it!

liza36 on 04/19/2012:
Figuring out what changes to make, and then actually making them is hard stuff. I know you'll figure out what's right for you.

V on 04/19/2012:
Oh I also forgot if you like extra appley(is this a word? probably NOT Hahaha) you could use Apple Vodka..

moogy on 04/19/2012:
She sounds like a lovely woman. Glad you got your golf in before the rain hit:) Hope you finished up the day feeling good:)

hollybelle on 04/21/2012:
The answer! Yikes - that is thought provoking....I was there, too. I have made progress this week, and I have been wondering what the difference is - motivation. I'd say. But what makes it come and go? Dfferent answers for each of us, I guess, at different times. Sometimes I think it's like Forrest Gump said - "it's just one less thing to worry about". Sometimes I just don't want to plan that much. For me healthy eating is still not a natural habit. It isn't automatic. I can do it most of the time, but at other times....well, you get the picture!

Hi all

And now Happy Wednesday. During my working years a person used to call Wed. hump day. I seriously wanted to hurt him because I knew that every Wed he would say that. To me it was someone who did not enjoy his work- just a work-a -day kind of guy- there to collect a paycheck & it just bugged me. And I'm an easy going kind of person so it takes alot to really get to me.

The week is going well. Since I was on the track of beauty treatments ( although there is nothing beautiful about  threading:) ) I decided that I was over due for a haircut & I made the decision to try a different hair salon which is always traumatic for me. I tend to stay with my hairdresser for a long time. I was with a Malay speaking salon & now am with a Chinese speaking salon. I'll probalby stick with this woman for the remainder of the time that I'm here. This woman knows her stuff & can work on two people at the same time with the aid of an assistant. No long shampoo massages at this salon though- sigh...

Exercise is going well this week- on my second jog/walk with a few short runs for the week . Yesterday was a long walk and tomorrow will be golf.I do need to add some weights which I could do at the gym or use weights that I have here in the apt.

Food- Doing ok, weight is the same- Ok this is getting boring. What to do Hmmm...... Tryng to motivate myself but then everyday seem to also sabatoge myself. Today it was with sour apple licorice. Which is not the end of the world but not going in the right direction either. Last night made chicken, mango lettice wraps- or more like bundles but again with a croissant on the side.  So today- B- 2 scr eggs with small roll, lunch 1/2 of eggwhite wrap at Starbuck's , then the licorice and a handful of pretzels. Dinner will be talapia, rice & stir fried greens.

Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

selina on 04/18/2012:
You reminded me of the wonderful head and shoulder massages I got every time I went to the hair salon in japan and the philippines... that's one thing I really miss! That tilapia sounds yummy! So does the mango wraps, yum!

selina on 04/18/2012:
By the way, i found that we have threading in most shopping malls in washington dc area - they were not around when we lived here before, but because I knew about them in asia, i just did not give it a second thought... I like it!

V on 04/18/2012:
I love getting a nice long shampoo, nice and relaxing :) Oh RYC It is really easy to make sweet potato fries, just slice, season(i like cajun seasoning) and bake..I usually broil them the last few minutes to make them nice and crunchy.. Have a good day

Em17 on 04/18/2012:
Have a great day!

Umpqua on 04/18/2012:
Congrats on switching hairdressers, I know that's a major ordeal! Thanks for your comments on my dining room. It has been a work in progress for forever it seems - I think I started stripping the wallpaper there last spring but didn't actually get it painted until Thanksgiving time. And then it took me until a few weeks ago to get the same color up in my kitchen. The family room is going much quicker thankfully, I guess I'm getting a little more skilled at it which is good - we have a whole upstairs covered in wallpaper :P

Maria7 on 04/18/2012:
Sounds like you are getting plenty of workouts in. I've been disciplining myself to get my treadmill walking done here lately. Hope you have had a good day today. :-)

moogy on 04/18/2012:
Ohh booo! The head massage is the best part of the hair cut experience:( I wonder why you sabotage yourself, I have read your diary and often read that you had a 'little something' that would have stopped you losing weight that day. It might be worth having a think about why you do it, in my experience there is always a reason. Just throwing in my two cents worth in the hope it helps:) You are doing so well with your exercise, it would be great to have you happy about the scale as well:)

A good Monday to all! Not that Monday means anything to me since I retired but it's hard to get rid of that feeling of the start of a new work week.

Since i didn't have anything planned for the day i set up a manicure/pedicure appt & a threading appt. Do you know about threading? I hadn't heard of it before I came here. It's a method of yanking out facial hair or, for many, eyebrow hair to get a better shape! Hope you aren't grossed out by the thought. hard to describe, but basically the person holds threads in her teeth, stand over you, me in this case, and kind of catches the hair & yanks it out. Strange but effective.Check it our on youtube if you are interested. Well I hadn't had it done for awhile because it's not a huge issue for me but felt like trying it again & I forgot that YOW it hurts & this girl wasn't going easy.

Exercise- Went on a long walk yesterday with my husband & today did my walk, jog & a little bit of actual running. Yesterday's walk was on a series of connected walkways with a few of them elevated and at treetop level, very cool.

Food- Still eating more than my 1400 that I should be having. Breakfast, lunch & snacks( except for today) are all decent , but not doing so well with dinners. Friday was at a Japanese restaurant, Sat at a French restaurant and lunch out after our walk yesterday & a wrap for dinner. Today , not so great so far- prepared waffles with butter & syrup for breakfast & then lunch was a couple of pastries ( right , I'm  not sure what I was thinking )& a watermelon juice. Dinner will be salmon, veg & 1/2 baked potato..

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

Kati on 04/16/2012:
I have submitted my eyebrows to threading for months, it's awesome. They say it's a method originated from India (those must know, girls there have loootsa hair everywhere, LOL). I was pleased with the results and what they say is true: less and less hair tends to grow back. Nobody was as effective as my grandma though - she used to use wax and once she overheated the stuff and applied and basically burnt the roots out so effectively that she never had eyebrows again. Yikes. Old folks are weird. Then they draw heavy, black eyebrows themselves and have those overly wondering expression on their faces all the time, hahahah...

grannyannie on 04/16/2012:
Monday doesn't mean anything to me either :-) I've heard of threading. I'll be making an appt soon to get some electrolysis on this horrible chin hair! Arghhh

Did you get Rosetta Stone French? I like the programme but discovered learning a language like a child is fine for a child, not for an adult. So I supplement it with an online French programme for grammar etc. Also bought a grammar book. I've never learned a language and decided on French a few years ago. I have motivation now (other than just learning tourist French). I can use it in France and Morocco.

V on 04/16/2012:
Ummm OUCH!! I feel like a whimp for tearing up when I get my lip waxed, the threading sounds torturous.LOL You are a brave woman, hats off to you my friend <3

Umpqua on 04/16/2012:
I think WI mentioned threading on here not long ago. Sounds kind of painful and yet I feel like I'm constantly plucking so I may ask about it when I go to the spa to get my facial treatments in a few weeks!

hollybelle on 04/16/2012:
I still do the waxing of my brows and I only have tiny corners on the lip to remove. Let me know what you think of threading - if it hurts, etc. Plus my hairdresser does my brows/lip free with the haircut, which is nice. I envy the retired part of your life - how long have you been retired and what did you do "before"? I am thinking maybe less than 2 years more to go - until age 59.5 years 22 months, actually. Fingers crossed.

hollybelle on 04/16/2012:
P.S. A pair of Asics were my favorites of all time, but I can't find any that are as perfect as those - even more Asics, aren't the same. My poor feet are very arthritic, though - all those years of running and high impact aerobics took their toll, apparently.

moogy on 04/16/2012:
I actually have a step by step video of threading and am intending to give it a try. I have seen it done (on the tele) a lot in Africa, I didn't realise it was popular in Asia as well, but it makes sense:) I am with you with Monday's, all the day seem to meld together. I tend only to notice the weekday if the children have things I need to be involved in.

Hi all-

It's mid day on Saturday here. This morning my husband & I went for a graveyard self guided tour. I know that sound strange but it was fascinating. The cemetery will soon be changed forever as a 4 lane highway will be going right through the center of it. So many of the graves have to be exhumed and people were there filing their paper work for that to happen. It is a Chinese cemetery and many of the plots have been overgrown but others have been cared for. So much history  & now that the state is going to be taking over much of the cemetery there is alot of interest and more people are taking a look before the highway work begins. While we were there a family with ancesters who first started Singapore came to pay respects to their ancesters. They prayed with joss sticks and burned paper"money" to help their ancesters in heavenAlthough they are now Christians they carry out some of the Chinese traditions ..Glad I had the background from my docent training course. They were happy to have us there and answered questions.

So the walk around the cemetery was my exercise for the day. It was hot & I was just drenched with perspiration. So far- Breakfast- muesli w/ lfmilk banana, lunch, chicken wrap. Dinner- TBD will go out but haven't decided where. Snacks- planned - pineapple, ricecakes with pb.

last night had too much sushi and then had a yearning for a wine cooler- you know the bottled variety- just wasn't necessary but I only had one. So my calories , now that I'm back to counting, are around 1600-1700 so no wonder I'm staying where I am.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 04/14/2012:
I love walking through old cemeteries, especially graves of historic figures.

I doubt I'll ever stop counting calories (except when travelling) as I'm afraid I can't trust my own judgement. Have a great weekend!

selina on 04/14/2012:
I have to say I wouldn't go out of my way to visit cemeteries but I see the attraction/fascination there - that's where all roads will lead us to, it's humbling. I'm fascinated, however, about the Chinese Culture. I just read the reviews on The Fat Years and I'm enthralled by the story line - so different from the Cultural Revolution accounts that I've read tons of, mostly during my most impressive years. Was it an easy read? I'll try to check it out from our local library.

I love sushi and it's not easy for me to stay within my allowance when I eat it! Today is another day - you can get right back on track! Have a great weekend!

V on 04/14/2012:
There is a small cemetery by my house that dates back pretty far..I too love the history of graveyards.. You know nothing wrong with having a cooler if you were craving one IMO.. I love mimosas and since they are a little on the sugary side, I make my own with white wine instead of champagne club soda and oj, it tastes just as yummy :P Have a good one!!

Umpqua on 04/14/2012:
Fascinating about the cemetery, and I've spent a lot of time in them. I learned how to drive a car in one and spent many hours walking around a local one while in early labor with my younger son. RE the freelance work, I'm definitely looking at the whole process as a lesson about drafting proposals and maybe setting some guidelines earlier in the process next time. It's a learning experience!

Em17 on 04/14/2012:
Have a great day!

moogy on 04/14/2012:
It might sound strange to some but I love roaming through cemeteries, not many really old ones here. We live in one of the first setttled areas in Sydney, hence, Australia and the gravestones have wonderful heartbreaking poems on them, generally tragic deaths. People made such sacrifices in a new country, something else to be grateful for:) Good job on the calories today:)

Hi-

Right, the massage was not painful but I have had painful massages in the past. Had a  Thai massage that  left me with bruises- large ones. I may not be  a good candidate for a massage, I just don't feel anything afterwards- is that normal. But I think  it must do some good for my body.

Well, that was yesterday.

Today went to a great book group discussion. Women from all over the world who currently live in Singapore discussing a book- it was great. Then had lunch with a woman from the US who I haven't seen in ages. It was good to catch up.

No exercise yet today. I'm thinking of going out for a swim very soon. Food- Breakfast was an egg & a half of eng muff with some cream cheese, snack at book group- some sort of Indian bread, more like corn bread but not made with corn meal. Lunch- roasted veg soup with a slice of bread, snack, banana. Dinner will probably be at a Japanese restaurant &will try to keep it on the lower side of calories.

Right now am ooking out on some fluffy clouds in a blue sky so should be clear this afternoon. We've had quite a series of thunderstorms since we've moved. You may have heard about the earthquake in Indonesia. Some people in Singapore felt it as well. A bit too close for comfort.

Take care.

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

Kati on 04/13/2012:
LOL, I have the same opinion about massages... it just doesn't affect me. My man says wonders about his experiences though. Maybe we've been to the wrong places!

Em17 on 04/13/2012:
I love massages! Have a great day!

grannyannie on 04/13/2012:
I love massages! I'd love to have one every day. My hub has no interest in getting a massage which I'll never understand. It's the most relaxing thing I can think of.

The book discussion sounds interesting. Great way to meet other expats.

selina on 04/13/2012:
I love foot massages, not the whole body types, as much.... When I went to vietnam and thailand, I had a foot massage every evening. Heaven! I used to belong to a book club when I lived in the philippines - good times! I hosted several of the the meetings (any reason for a party!) and I loved the camaraderie in the group - I still stay in touch with a few of the ladies... What book did you read/discuss?

I posted recipes for kibbeh aka kibe, quibe, etc and sweet azuki beans in my entry, take a look and thanks for asking! Have a great day!

V on 04/13/2012:
Do you think because of your previous experience you were so tense that you didn't feel anything?? It is totally acceptable to tell the massuse if he/she is causing you discomfort.. Hi-

I didn't mean to have half of the week go by without checking in. And can't say I was extremely busy- just got out of the routine of using my computer as much & am using my IPad for checking emails so now sitting at my computer for DD.

The week is going okay. I have not been writing down my food which is not good- think I can keep it in my head but - well you know its better to write everything down.

Exercise has been good- I have continued my walk/jogMon & Wed - now for 45min + & then today was golf. Eating has been so,so.Noproblems but again haven't been writing it down. So I guess I need to make that a priority

I have an appt for a massage. I bought one through Groupon & it's about to expire so need to cash in on that. Hopefully they won't hurt me!

Will check in on DD friends later. But first taking out my little green notebook where I will write down everything that i put into my mouth including the chips that I had to reach very far to get off of the top shelf. Husband helps me out by putting certain foods up highshelves but it is amazing how high I can reach when I want to. :)

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

I agree, if I don't write it down when I eat it I will have forgotten by the next day, sometime the same evening!!! Great work with the exercise and the massage sounds wonderful:)

Hello!! You will LOVE the massage, I promise :) Have a good day!

Sites like MyFitnessPal have applications for the iPad for logging foods, FYI. Notebooks work well too ;) I'm debating getting an iPad when funds allow because I've been using my husband's and I really like it. Have a good one!

I'm on my computer often - too often - so keep my foods in an excel spreadsheet. I almost always plan at least a day ahead or more.

Well done on the exercising. I've had my hubby hide chocolate from me so I have to ask when I want some and it's listed on my daily menu.

Hi all-

Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

We are getting settled in, still a few boxes to unpack but they are out of the way so at least there is a somewhat organized look to the place. We found that we could not be comfortble with the living room furniture so bought sofas from someone who is moving & will have the pressent furniture taken away.

Hard to spend Easter without family. Went to church and had dinner with friends. Not one jelly bean or piece of chocolate! I am sure that is a first.

Still holding steady here with weight at last weigh in. Hmm.... Seems like too many interruptions & get started with a good plan & then life gets in the way. Well just have to start again.

Today went out for an hour - probably 45 min of walkingjogging.

Breakfast- cereal,  lunch- planned turkey wrap, dinner- salmon with veg. Have yogurt and grapes for snack.

Hope you all had a nice Easter.

Progress as of today: 17 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

Hello there :) I hear ya on not being around family during the holiday.. I had the opportunity to chat with the entire clan(they were at my parent's house) I was slightly bummed I missed out playing in the "Bunny Bowl" (football) with my brothers..LOL Have a good day my friend!

Umpqua on 04/09/2012:
I'm glad you're settled into the new place. It sounds like you had a very low-key Easter (the number of desserts we had at our family gathering was mind boggling) and your foods for today look great!

selina on 04/09/2012:
Good job on the walkjog, 45 min is great! It's not easy moving houses, but sounds like you are settling in quite nicely. Sorry to hear you missed your family for the holiday. I'm glad you had friends to spend Easter with.

Cool to find sofas so quickly. I would say you are due an IOU on jelly beans or chocolate - cash in very soon!

moogy on 04/09/2012:
Hey! Snap, no Easter eggs for me either! Yay for us! Australian's love public holidays (we get about 12 every year) so we get Friday and Monday off for Easter, although some shops still open, the majority of people get two. Those that work get time and a half for woking on public holidays:) Sounds like you are settling into your new place. I know what you mean and about getting a good run at losing weight, but, we are living a real life and stuff will always get in the way. I am working on eating as just healthy choices rather than losing weight and it is really working for me:) Hope you have a good week thinkpositive;)
