Hi-

I have a goal of losing 1 1/2 lbs this week & think that is perfectly reasonable. Today- Vitamuffin for breakfast, apple w/pb for snack, soup for lunch, protein bar for snack, planning fish w/ veg for dinner & glass of wine, 100 cal popcorn for later. No real exercise today- yesterday was hour of weights &abs at the gym.

Watching light snow right now with more to come. Pretty from inside. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Umpqua on 01/22/2014:
That definitely sounds like a reasonable plan. We only got about 2 inches last night although I guess the southern part of the state got much more. On Saturday we got about 6 inches of heavy snow that brought branches down - meanwhile the forecasters were calling for a light snow mist!

biscottibody59 on 01/26/2014:
Hope you're doing well--have a good week!

Hi-

Small loss this week and could have watched calories better, The vegetable soup was helpful and will continue to make it or something similar as it was filling and kept calories down for the day. Would like to find a soup that's not tomato based so guess I could make the same soup & eave out the tomatoes. I was away for two days this week so exercise was not as good- just short walks on those days. Yesterday was beautiful and went out for a long walk which included hills so good exercise.. Thanks for your supportive comments!

biscottibody59 on 01/18/2014:
Good job on the loss and getting out to walk!

Soup suggestion: a chowder-type with corn or leeks and potatoes--leave out the fat and use either chicken or veg stock.

thinkpositive on 01/18/2014:
Thank you. Sounds filling and easy enough to make.

Umpqua on 01/18/2014:
Good work on the loss! I recently made a turkey soup with veggies and brown/black rice that's super filling. There's also a great Cooking Light carrot soup recipe posted here (I think it's on the recipe forum anyway) that's yummy.

thinkpositive on 01/18/2014:
Thanks ! I'll look up the carrot soup.

Maria7 on 01/18/2014:
Congrats to you. The vegetable soup must have helped a lot. Making the same soup and leaving out the tomatoes sounds good if you don't want tomato-based. Good on that walk in the hills yesterday...sounds like it was beautiful out.

Hi-

I can actually say that I'm having a couple of good days. Calories yesterday around 1300-1400. Today hoping to be closer to 1000.I made the WW vegetable soup & that will be lunch & dinner with a few low cal snacks thrown including fruit and pretzels. Exercise yesterday was an hour of weights and abs; today an hour of zumba. A foggy, rainy day but that's okay.

Maria7 on 01/14/2014:
The vegetable soup sounds good and good on the exercise, too. It was rainy here this morning but the sun shined later.

dana_johnson426 on 01/14/2014:
I want to try Zumba but I am way too heavy right now. Maybe once I get in the 280 range...

Umpqua on 01/15/2014:
You're doing great and killing it with the exercise!

OhioRaven on 01/15/2014:
Sounds like you are having some good days. Have another good one.

Good Morning,

yesterday went fairly well. Breakfast- oatmeal, Lunch- salad, Dinner, beef, rice, veg, snacks, apple, nuts, wine, - on the minus side- three cookies. exercise- 30 min on the treadmill

So- one day at a time, right? Today's activity looks like some shoveling!

skinnygrlwithin on 01/03/2014:
Yesterday looks really good... I think you're doing great! Keep it up and stay positive... like you said, one day at a time.

Umpqua on 01/03/2014:
Hey, good to see you back on here! Sounds like you are doing really well and shoveling is a major workout. Don't stay out too long in these frigid temperatures!

biscottibody59 on 01/04/2014:
I hope you're hanging in there with the weather. I love snow--enjoy some for me! Though the Winter is young, we usually get just enough other stuff so that it's just messy or dangerous.

Keep up the good work--stay warm:-)

Maria7 on 01/05/2014:
Good on that treadmill! Keep up the good work! :-)

Hi- Happy New Year to everyone. Funny thing about being in a new year, as if there is some miracle happening - that I'll be a new person and that all old habits will disappear and I will now be able to lose the weight that I've been carrying for years. Oh, do I sound cynical? Maybe..,

However,I have to remain positive. No reason to wonder why I ate all of that chocolate and heavy carb food for the last couple of weeks and undid all that I had lost. I have to focus on today and begin again.

So today I will start counting calories while focusing on eating healthy and trying to eat lower carbs. Exercise - I'll continue to go to my exercise classes- Zumba and weights and add 1-2 treadmill sessions each week, so 4-5 days of exercise.

I'll try to log food here most days.

My goal- lose 15 lbs in four months.

Question- to continue with WW ? Not sure about that piece.

Thinking that having a weight loss buddy who has a similar amount to lose might help. Not sure where to go with that.

Hi-

My husband perfected his ginger cookie recipe. I have had four and they were all excellent. Oh, and 2 candy kisses to top it off. other than that I've followed my plan. :(

I'll do the best I can but let me just say that I will get back on track after Christmas. Until then a few sweets.

Is it possible that the tilapia that I'll have for dinner will cancel out the calories from the cookies? I'll let you know.

I did go to the gym for my hour weights & abs class. It's a work out! ( Was that the equivalent of a couple of cookies?)

Raining here all day but it doesn't seem to have effected the number of shoppers. It must have been a good retail season as the only tape I could buy was a store brand.

Listening to Christmas music and having a cup of tea.

Peace on Earth!

grannyannie on 12/23/2013:
I had leftover chocolate shuffle and ice cream! We are all guilty. Have a lovely Christmas.

biscottibody59 on 12/30/2013:

Hi all-

A lovely day here. Breakfast- 2 scrambled eggs with a sprinkling of cheese, lunch was a Christmas party buffet so included ham, a T of 3 potato /pasta items, salad, and 3-4 bites of dessert, plus one glass of wine.Dinner will be veg burger and salad.

Exercise- 20 min on treadmill

another 1/2 lb loss

OhioRaven on 12/20/2013:
Good job on the loss. I'm not sure how much a "T" is..teaspoon, tablespoon, ton...Have a Great Day !

thinkpositive on 12/20/2013:
Ha! Right sometimes could be a ton, but in this case was a tablespoon each of those carb items.
