Hi- I love some of the expressions that the British use. One of the them "Rubbish " very nicely describes my day yesterday. Just plain rubbish! And I won't bore you with the details. Just think about cake and then calculate how many calories in 3 pieces of cake & there you have it !

Today I am focusing on no sugar. I need to get the sugar cravings out of my system. So far, so good.

Various meetings today so no exercise but that's ok.

I think about cake, I think about ice cream.... Staying away until daughter's 15th on the 20th :) Been 4 days now w/o "added" sugar... Sure is a difference!

Bloody hell! ;) Yeah, I made cupcakes over the break "for the boys" and indulged in a few myself. They are safely frozen now, to be brought out only for desserts for my kids. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. I hope today is better for you!

Ok, back to reality! And Monday is a good day to get honest with what I've been eating.

My exercise contnues to be pretty good. Going to the gym about twice a week, some walking , doing my 15 min. floor exercises about 4 times a week

Now to get serious about my eating. need to cut back with carbs, stop snacking on nuts and junk food & cut back on the wine.

Today- B- oatmeal, L- eating out at a potluck party-hoping there will be salads & fruit D- tilapia & a veg.

great, hoping you do post then :) I am happy for the holidays now....the time off....I am going to use it to my advantage. this is a major time I can use in order to lose the weight...and I bought some salt soup cubes..you know, the boillion cubes?? not sure I spelled it right. should help me thru the fasting. planning to fast all the way till dinner with my friends on Saturday night.

What is it about Mondays? The day of new beginnings, of making promises to myself , the day of great resolve. "Starting today I will not have any sweets. Starting today, I won't eat as many snacks. I will lose a pound this week - or if I'm feeling particularly strong, I'll lose two pounds this week . Ugh- I get sick of this , of making promises to myself & then having it all dissolve by about Wednesday. And then disappointed with myself for not following through. I know I'm not alone on this , that it is difficult to change bad habits. But I also know that it is doable. So , here it is Wednesday. No , not a complete wipeout but I am doing some soul searching & trying to figure out how I am going to stick with what I think is a decent plan. I don't want to give up, and I don't want to give in to excessive snacking and eating sweets that are bad for me.

Today- B- fruit smoothie, Lunch- at a restaurant-a Mediterranean salad, D- planned- salmon, green beans, , Snacks- nuts, orange

Exercise- 40 min walk

Its a little bit like new years resolutions dont do it. If you can get off the sugar kick it will help a lot. It takes at least two weeks before you start feeling it but your craving will be fewer and fewer. Have a great evening.

I've wiped out everyday this week! But I believe in my reset button! Everyday you have the ability to "win the day".

Go out and win Thursday and if you blow it (like I may), push the reset button and win Friday!!

I've been absent but for no particular reason, just got out ofthe habit of posting.

The good news- exercise has been ok. I've been getting to the gym 2- times a week & using my treadmill once a week.

Nutrition /eating- Definitely could be better. Holiday events, eating out has not helped. I just can't have sweets in the house.

Basically I've been maintaining . No progress.

How to turn things around? I'm going to to re-start using the LoseIt ! app.It's easy to use and keeps me honest about calories. And I'll be better about posting here.

I was going to get more serious after Christmas, but what's the point of waiting!

Kind of a crazy eating day. B- oatmeal, L- cookie, salad D- turkey, acorn squash w/ butter & br sugar more salad Snacks- gluten free pretzels- a few handfuls, about 6 crackers- some fancy Whole Foods healthy type,

Exercie- 3 hours of yard work

I worked around the yard doing various jobs- some raking, wrapping up hoses , trimming along the walkway in preparation of snow tomorrow. Then for some reason I wasn't at all hungry so went out stopping at Whole Foods. Well, you know what they say about shopping on an empty stomach. Well I bought a bunch of snack foods- mostly crackers, cheese and a big salad.

I have had a decent week but not seeing any huge results on the scale. I have to keep reminding myself that eating healthy & exercising is important & if I can stick with it I will see results.

I won't go back over the week. Thursday was the day that I lost it a bit. It started with a piece of zucchini bread & later 1 1/2 cookies along with some snack food & a couple glasses of wine. Just a reminder that I have to stay away from baked goods & processed foods.

Today- B- fruit smoothie, L- turkey & cheese Dinner- chicken, rice & broccoli Snacks- almonds, carrots, apple , cheese, glass of wine

Exercise- one hour walk, tibetan exercises

Cold here but I guess it's cold in many parts of the country.

Today- B- oatmeal, L- edamame, almonds D- tilapia , asparagus Other- 2 servings of apple crisp ,wine, more almonds

I think it's good to write down my food because there it is in writing- strange selection of food & looked pretty good until the apple crisp started calling out to me.

Exercise- 1/2 hr walk + my tibetan exercies

Too many meals out ! It makes it more difficult to plan, stay on track .

The weekend was a mix of eating - so the scale stays put. Well better than gaining but not where I would like to be.

Exercise over the weekend- Saturday was outsde work, gardening & stacking firwood- about 2 hours

Today's exercise - my hour abs & weights class.

Meals & food so far b-fruit smoothis, lunch salad with turkey, cheese & grapes , snacks- a couple of handfuls of chocolate chips, atkins bar, piece of cheese; dinner- at a friend's house

Raining & gloomy here. Hoping for a good week.

Yes going out can be difficult that is why I have put those on the back burner until I get healthier. I still do an outing once in while but do not make a habit of it because it is too easy to fall off track. Have a great day.

I agree. We had many meals out this weekend, and it is harder.I did manage to stay mostly on track by just eating waaaay less at restaurants, but we enjoy going out so much its hard to avoid :)

A nice day out with a friend including lunch. Somehow I don't seem to be making exercise a priority. If I don't go to the gym or exercise in the morning it just doesn't seem to happen. Today- B- fruit smoothie , L- salad with chicken, greens, eggplant, chick peas, D- leftover salad Snacks- 2 60 cal dove bars, 4 crackers, 2 w/ peanut butter, glass of wine

only exercise was 10 reps of Tibetan exercises. Better than nothing, I guess.

Have to make up for exercise this weekend.

Found the exercises in a weight loss book, there are 5 exercises- one includes spinning around (!) one other is a downward dog to upward dog, just giving them a try .
