Early Morning light snack, 1.5 hours @ Planet Fitness, 2 hours @ dentist office for a deep cleaning (2/3 done, go back Thursday afternoon), heavy lunch, nap while the numbing agent wore off in my mouth, 2.5 mile late evening walk and finished the day with a high protein smoothie. I cannot say enough how much I love my Ninja blender for these smoothies! I use it every single day.

Scales are teetering on a new lower number. Will wait a few days before weighing again. I bought a new pair of capris for Spring/Summer a month ago in a size 20 (was a 22) and they fit PERFECT. I wore them today and um, they're saggy even after washing them and drying in the dryer. It's a good/bad feeling. Hate spending money on NEW stuff and not getting money's worth out of the wear, but who am I to gripe they're getting too big? That's the whole premis of this journey. Crazy woman!

Meg (daughter) saw me in my underwares/bra a couple days ago and yelled out to hubby "DADDY!!!!!!! Momma's getting built!". He said "I KNOW". A long ways to go still yet. But it's nice to know that they're seeing the changes that I am.  Planet Fitness has been the second best thing I've ever done in the downsizing department. WALKING is my first love as many of you know and I hope to get back up to walking 6 miles a day at some point on top of a workout regime.

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

Yes, dental work can def have a major influence on diet. I know from my own experience of having 2 wisdom teeth out when I was around 25 and the other two out when I think I was 30 or so. Yep, ya don't wanna be chewing veggies lol!

thinnside40 on 04/13/2016:
I found a tomato soup that I could eat every day and did for about 8 days. It's Pacific brand.Creamy Tomato and it's even lower sodium. In a box with the broths at our Kroger/Fred Meyer in the health food section.

puddles on 04/13/2016:
Congrats on the capri pants sizing down and it seems you will be sizing down one more pretty soon. Good job.

It's 5 a.m..... Headed to Planet Fitness for a couple hours. We didn't go yesterday and took a long walk home from church service in the evening. Different exercises made us both very sore and our bodies needed some rest.

Felt good when I put on a pair of jeans that I couldn't even fit into last Summer. Ahead of the game this year looks like.... WHOOPWHOOP! It's just SPRING. Happy Dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will catch up on ya'll when I get home later this morning. Have a great Monday!

Been a VERY BAD girl today. We went to Planet Fitness for a couple hours after I'd had just a few bites of cereal and before eating lunch out of cup of soup (clam chowder) n sandwich (turkey, cranberry sauce, cream cheese, almonds and alfalfa sprouts). The BAD part of the entire day is I've not eaten since 11:30 a.m. and it's going on 9:15 p.m. Got out of the car when we got home and worked outside in the yard with exception of a couple hydrating and potty breaks and didn't come in the house to stay until 8:30 p.m. Now, I'm too tired to eat anything and not really hungry. Stomach is queezy though and I know it's because I need to eat something. When it's just hubby and I when the kids aren't home for one reason or another, I don't take the time to come in and fix meals. It's a fend for self motto. MUST CHANGE THAT!

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

We all have bad habit that we are working at correcting - in time things will change. Have a great day.

hollybelle on 04/09/2016:
Sometimes I do that - wait too late to eat and then feel really bad. I will often eat a little peanut butter rather than nothing and a small glass of milk and begin again the next day. That way blood sugar doesn't drop too low and I don't wake up ready to eat the world! You'll get it done!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 04/10/2016:
To make sure I usually have something on hand, in my fridge I always (usually) keep a decent supply of some cooked veggies. Running a bit low now. Sometimes they are in a lot of sauce, sometimes not. But I have veggies, cooked, on hand so I can just pull them out of the fridge and put them on a plate or even eat them out of the container. If I have chicken in the fridge, i'll put that out too. Or, if really lazy, I'll have some protein Jerky (beef usually and lately bacon). For carbs, I may have popcorn after my meal or even a few chips. But I try to make sure there are vegetables always, ready to be eaten / prepared already, in my fridge.

A lot of my food I eat is takeout. I know it's more money not to cook it myself, but I am busy. And sometimes what I do is buy bagged salads at supermarket or bagged cabbage and heat those up and mix the already cooked food in with the cabbage or other supermarket veggies for a huge portion - and sauce from the food that was prepared is usually enough already.

thinnside40 on 04/12/2016:
I usually have portable stuff on hand, but been having LOTS of dental work done this last 7 weeks. Painful and been in bed lots of days after at least fitting in a workout. Hard to keep stuff that I can eat in the car. About a month left and I can start getting used to eating with some artificial teeth in upper/lower partial plates.

Joined Planet Fitness on February 6th. Hubby joined the 7th and we go together every morning. He goes for an hour before work and I stay another hour at least after he's left. I've been having major dental work done, but only missed 3 days out of the 60 so far. Pain medication and 2 rounds of super strong antibiotics have been a down side, but it is what it is. NECCESSARY! Next Monday is the next painful procedure in the process and hoping the pain is minimal the next day AND I'm not under orders like have been before of only treadmill @ 2.5 and no incline for 3 days. Enjoying weight training tremendously. The pounds are coming off in sweet time and I need to keep measurements. Down by a pant/blouse size since the last week of January. Hoping progress shows more rapid now my thyroid and Vitamin D levels are back to normal ranges after learning last December they were both too low again. I drink one or two super high protein smoothie(s) a day. Balancing with healthy meals and snacks to equal 3 meals and a lo-cal snack in between when I remember. One Matcha Greens drink every morning with 4oz. juice, 1tbs. Matcha greens powder, 1oz. Mother ACV & 1/2oz. pure lemon juice. No soda pops, minimal processed foods, limited refineds and near zero artificial sweeteners. Water, homemade herbal teas and Swiss water process decaf coffee (still keeping close check on b.p.-off meds for almost 2 years) are unlimited. Now weather is nice in evenings, to satisfy the walking urge, I and sometimes we take a 1 mile walk. Nice winding down before settling in for the night.

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

Same to you!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 04/07/2016:
wow....love this entry.

1. Love Planet Fitness. The best. Wish I had one by me that also has good parking. If no parking, it's no good - in queens, NY. That's why I don't go there, otherwise I would. Same with Blink. I got it by me, no good parking. (actually, blink does have good parking, but all my coworkers would go there so - NO GOOD!)

2. great on the gym & time you spend there.

3. DENTAL WORK = Def Necessity! and yes, antiobiotics and painkillers are a MUST. enough said on this one.

4. Weight training = MUST if you care how you look

5. Matcha - I need to read / do more on this myself....I hear it's the BEST

6. good on the drinks / herbals / no artificial stuff

7. enjoy your walks! wow, what an entry!

thinnside40 on 04/07/2016:
Planet Fitness is THE BEST thing I have EVER done in my life! Always feared a "gym" setting, but once I stepped in there to see what it was all about, knew it was a place we could enjoy in this journey. My goal is to be down by 100# by my 50th b.d. and Meg's High School Graduation (b.d. in May/ Graduation in June of 2018. I think 2 years is a reasonable amount of time in the effort(s) of keeping reaching a maintainable goal for maintenance. Matcha Greens I use is brand Sunny Green ~ Supplement Facts Servings (1 teaspoon) per container: 30 1 teaspoon (2.25g) contains: Calories 6 ---Calories from Fat 0 Total Carbohydrates <1g ---Sugars <1g ---Sugar Alcohols 0g Matcha Green Blend 2,050mg ---Organic Matcha powder (leaf), organic wheatgrass juice (leaf), barley grass juice powder, broken cell chlorella (whole), green tea leaf extract. Luo han Guo (Siratia grosvenorii) (fruit extract) 125mg Other Ingredients: natural flavor and maltodextrin. Vegetarian I was drinking green tea in organic gunpowder form (tender young leaves), but it kept shooting my b.p. up for a couple hours afterwards. So, the Matcha is still same I reckon just caffeine releases over several hours.

I am alive.. I am well.... Same number.... Got a treadmill @ a yard sale last Friday and love it. Been working in the yard a lot. Bought a new lawnmower today and got one side mowed this evening. We have a big John Deere rider, but no bags (I'm picky about stray grass after mowing) and actually like using a walk behind better when it's me doing it. I'll get more consistent posting when I'm done doing the last couple big jobs before the weather gets too hot. Will be away from home Monday and Tuesday to stay with sis-in-law while brother is out of town and take her to her dialysis appointments. The weather is suppose to be like it has been in th uppr 70's and it's near killing me I'll not be home. But, thankful at the same time able to help out in a time of need.

Yesterday truned out much better than the previous 4 days. Eating was back on track. Tried quinoa for the first time last night and we all loved it. Paul and Ben thought it was coucous. Meg already knew it wasn't. She was with  me when I bought it and made sure I was pronouncing it correctly ( I wasn't at first).  Will be looking for a good source to buy it from, cause that stuff isn't cheap.

Got in a 30 minute row~recumbent~gazelle~dance~Body by Jake circuit. The weather has warmed up, so had the guys take the equipment out to the covered patio (3/4 of the outside is either covered porch or patio). I hung curtains on the glass door and the windows where we enclosed the end a couple years ago to keep from neighbors and passing cars from being able to see me. Wished it was still open so we can look out to the garden. But the neighbors to the North are partiers soon as the weather is warmed up enough you can't see your breath near every weekend with very loud music we can hear with windows/doors closed, obnoxious when drunk (beer pong til 4 a.m.) and usually end with a brawl of sorts. We're so used to being 17 miles out in the country with only one neighbor that it's been a great adjustment to have an acre still, but lots of neighbors closeby & a 4 lane rd, instead of a narrow gravel potholed lane with little traffic. Had touble getting in the groove for the circuit cause it's been a while. The walking was only purposeful exercise activity I'd been doing lately. Felt like starting all over again. ACK! Although; been getting lots of work done around outside and those activities include some muscle work

Will get breakfast eaten before 9 a.m. today (just now 7:49)

10 oz. acv drink

Steel cut oats w/ banana, walnuts, hemp hearts, splash of milk

To be continued as day goes along..............................

Quinoa is good stuff but it can definitely be pricey. That's too bad about the obnoxious neighbors, I don't suppose talking to them would get them to quiet it down? Hope you have a good one!

thinnside40 on 04/22/2015:
When my mom was in her last days. I'd had enough one night and just called the police. There had been a fight and a guy knocked out. They took him to the car and just dropped him off at the fire station down the road and came back home. I know because we listen to a police/fire scanner and the timing just right. They kept partying until the police showed up. Turned the lights off and hid. Police left (unfounded). I called dispatch and told them THEY ARE HIDING!!!! He came back with his bright flashlight and found them hunkered on the patio. They are loud day & night no matter what they do. ALL the people around can hear them. Even across the street a couple houses down. Talked w/the elderly lady and she asked how we could stand it right off our bedroom window. MELATONIN! A talk would make it worse :(

I love quinoa too. It was very surprising. Rowdy neighbors mess with sleep, I would hate that too! Good luck with your exercise.

Umpqua on 04/22/2015:
Geez, they sound like a lovely crew :P I wonder if the neighbors all got together and made some sort of formal complaint to the city/town if that have an effect? Maybe the town could fine them for violating a noise ordinance or something like that. Then again, they're probably the type of people you don't getting angry with you. Melatonin and ear plugs work wonders :)

(Yesterday......... "cLaRk CrAzY aCrE" is us!)                                  (Getting 2-3 "frizzle" chicks on May 21st)

Hit a bump in the road that lasted about 4 days.................

There WILL NOT be a 5th day!

Been working out in the yard. Went to a couple yard sales with Paul on Friday and we packed our car full of plants (I asked before leaving home if we should take the truck- NOPE!). I only wanted to go to one yard sale and keep to my word (usually I get us running all over the countryside before it's all said/done)... He wanted to get some cabbage, onions, peas, etc.... We had a great day! Never found the lone key, but Thursday late afternoon, did find a set that has one on it that works. We thought it was long gone and long time ago..... Ben had "the set" in a work jacket he'd last wore a few weeks back. I felt good vibes as I spotted it in the corner with a few other coats piled on top. Did a hollering and dancing fit when my hand felt them in the pocket. Meg thought I'd found a mouse or spider.

10 oz. acv drink

2 scrambled backyard eggs (our leghorn lays the most beautiful green eggs and bought 3 Welsummer breed chicks almost 2 weeks ago. They'll lay chocolate colored ones towards the Fall ), 2 sl. nutty toast, 6 dried prunes

Keeping busy around the house today. Still working on sorting and organizing as I go along searching for the lone lost key. Finding some stuff I forgot I had. When your used to a 2 bedroom single story home and move to a 2 story old farm house in a chaotic rush, things just get stuffed, here, there and everywhere while you deal with "life".... All that time consuming care giving and grief after the loved ones are gone also takes time to adjust from...... Feeling on the upper end of beginning our life as a family of 4 in new ways and adventures. Making the home where I was raised "our home" now. Still dad and mom's, just as grandparent's home is still called that despite it being sold not long ago.. Just feeling more "at home" and making it fit to our needs/likes. Breathing easier these days sure helps get through doing what needs  being done to "just live" and be happy as we are amidst feeling alone so many times anymore.

Yesterday was on track...... Spring is really beginning to bring out the flowers and blooms throughout the yard. Been working in and out of the house. Looking for a key our son lost on Friday. Thinking it fell out of his pocket between the car and every room he went into Friday night. Greatest fear is the Golden Retriever got ahold of it if it dropped on the porch as Ben was playing with her before coming into the house. At least I've been able to get some procrstination projects and tasks done in the looking. About time!

Need to get back to posting daily.....Not off track per say, just don't make the logging priority like it should be. The exercise/walking has been hit/miss. When I do walk, it's for long distances. Going to make sure to put in a good living room circuit workout before this day is over. The wind is fierce this afternoon/evening making the chill of air misreable. Warmer towards end of the week they say.
