Took advantage of a day off. Slept in this morning, ate breakfast and then took a short nap......Laundry is now swishing & drying, doors are open to let in fresh air (60-65 degrees today)& going to take Ben to a yard work job when he gets home from school. Meg & I will take a walk when she gets home.

Feeling confident with the weather changes & longer daylight hours that things are going to be on the upswing for the healthier living for the whole family again. Renewed the Costco card and financially able to stock up on some great items they have that we all love to eat...Convenient, but healthy & affordable is the name of the game these days....Ben is great at getting supper started. Just as long as I have a tentative plan for which foods to fix when I'm running late... Planning is the best vice I can go back to in order to make this lifestyle change work again... AND I AM COMMITED TO MAKING IT WORK.

Tuesday

Banana

Oatmeal w/10 Whole Dried Cranberries,Walnuts, Splash of FF Milk.......Black Coffee

2 mile walk with Meg.... What a great time this is for us to have 1/1...

Awesome menu! I like to eat my oatmeal with raisins and walnuts....need to try it with cranberries that sounds good! I love Spring weather, I feel like it's so refreshing after a long cold winter and the dreary weather. SOunds like you had a beautiful day! Nip in the air, but the sun is shining very bright..... Spring has sprung with daffodils & crocus opening daily to give a pleasant suprise & smile when discovered.... Clocks have been flung forward and I'm feeling a bit of the not ready to get outa bed yet ramification.... All in all, it was a good weekend...Getting ready to head out the door to work for a few hours, then come home to get some much needed housework caught up on.... The last month & a half has been a whirlwind of change for our family..Hubby working day/night & my going back to work, spending days off helping my parents, etc. Time for some "homework".....The kids ar gunna love me... Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

Oh ya, and I AM going to take a 2 mile walk today.....

Monday

Breakfast~ Banana, Greek Yogurt w/1/4 c. FF Cott. Cheese. Black Coffee

Snack ~FF Iced Chai Tea ~ worked way more than anticipated...Too long between eating

Dinner/Snack~ Veggie Crisps,Hummus,10 Raw Cashews

 2 mile walk~  Gotta get some new walkin' shoes on payday.. Oucheewawa, has been too long since walking as a fitter person.... Walking around a huge store for work & walking on the gravel road IS NOT the same... Meg went with me and we didn't even have to make any stops..Yay!

Supper~ Broccoli Salad, Turkey Breast Burger, Grilled Asparagus, 1 sl. Oat & Honey Toast

Snack ~ Apple

Water ~ 80 oz.

No, I don't have a basket - I carried a small backpack on my back - ha! catfood was all I needed and I got a small bag - will get the rest and a bigger bag & wet food when I go back to the store by car, as always...

Oh, how a roller coaster is the best description of lifestyle change(s) over this last year... Eating healthy, walking every day, feeling great & enjoying every minute of it thinking it was going to last forever for almost a year (08-09).... Ha! Ha ! Ha ! and I say Ha! again....

With the emotional roller coaster of my mom's condition being diagnosed a little over a year ago,closing my daycare business in June after 15 years & a couple other things came the eating roller coaster & weight fluctuations... Losing the necessity of taking care of myself... Have given me no choice but to straighten up as the health issues rear their ugly head to remind me why it was so necessary to begin the healthy living journey on Jan 21,2008... I have wasted too much time & hard work that I said I wasn't going to ever again. Never say never!

I have been working for Hallmark Greetings for a month now... I LOVE it.... I get a lot of walking in each day, as it is all "on feet" hours.The store is HUGE & walking between the back room and card section with a freight cart is a great jaunt 3-4 times a day..... Suppose to have been 6-10 hours a week, but second week I became the main person for the Walmart store I work in..Work 18-24 hours a week spread over 4-5 days. Very flexible schedule & independant job. Allowing me to be available for my parents & kids when needed. What a blessing! Bad thing is I am in habit of working straight through without taking a break,eating dinner (lunch),drinking water, etc... Have to change that...By the time I get home, I am overhungry and most of the time supper has been way too late in the evening.Hubby's hours are 12-15-17 long right now and I wait til he gets home most of the time to eat supper.Snack a bit when I get home late afternoon to hold me over... Have been good about portion size, just not everything lined up as it should be to be successful at being healthy and able to become lighter..

Today I sit not much lighter than what I began DD at... It is taking it's toll in many ways... I have began having horrible chest pains, muscle aches,etc.. Conclusion is the hiatal hernia/acid reflux problems that had gotten better with ridding of poundage has returned with much worse haunt and despair. Of course stress on top of it doesn't help...I have began eating very slowly and small amounts at a time.Plus taking a 32oz. container of water to work.. Going to put a Khashi bar/cookie or other healthy grabs to put in my cubby for snack too... Shall see how it works out.

Food/Activity Logging

Breakfast ~ Banana,Yoplait Greek Yogurt,Coffee

Work ~ 9:30-1:30 (Snack ~ Khashi Trail Mix Cookie)

Dinner ~ 1/2 Smart Balance PB & Honey Sandwich (Oat n Honey Bread), ?

Snack ~ Few Whole Wheat Pita Chips &  Sabra S.D. Tomato Hummus... Worked 10:00-4:00 instead..Manager was suppose to come to town tomorrow, but that changed to Friday...Mom has an appointment on Friday, so I worked most hours today...Didn't eat dinner.. Drank Diet Snapple

Supper ~ Haven't decided yet....

Water = At least 80 oz.

Yesterday I went through the interview process for a job and will know by the end of the week if I got it....

Have been working outside since 9:00 a.m.... Tayt came over.. It was good to watch him for a couple hours..Gave him a much needed haircut... He doesn't like clippers, but his dad tried it..Yikes!... He likes my scissors (snicker snicker)...

Feeling energized with having some fresh air, plus cleaning & decoring the porch... Haven't eaten much...Getting hungry now, so best go before I get overhungry...

great entry, thin! I love cutting my daughter's hair (and my own, too). I have no training, whatsoever, except that I have watched other hairdressers doing my daughter's and my own hair in the past... I haven't spent money with a hairdresser in a very long time!

Last night we went out to eat Chinese food after taking Ben to his ride... I had only eaten Oatmeal for breakfast & a banana for snack. I ate the Chinese food with a good feeling.... Didn't eat til I was miserable for sure. Came home after eating & shopping a bit, took a bath, watched Simon Birch and got a lil' lovin'... Fell asleep about 2 a.m. and slept til 9:30 this morning...Have t o get out of the night owl routine!!!!! But, feeling better after I've been out and about after being couped up in the house all week.

Getting ready to go to my parent's house for the afternoon/evening. Stopping by the thrift store..I have been changing my decor over to folk art/primitive dolls and shabby chicish after seeing a friend of mines house look adorable with those types of items in moderation...So fun getting things at a reasonable price and changing things up a bit.... Also,  looking forward to my phone interview tomorrow evening.... Starting to see some light again!

Dad's tests came back as cancer free.... GREAT NEWS!.....

As for me, I am struggling for the time being... I know I am going through depression of sorts, but trying to keep my head above water.... So much has happened this last year and being voluntarily unemployed is beginning to weigh me down. Feeling like I'm doing nothing in the process of just waiting for the day that something does happen. I am robbing myself of hapiness in the good days.... Have applied for a couple part-time jobs to see if that may help me out.... Have been in bed most of the week feeling worthless and a bad mother/wife...Don't care about anything... I don't want to get involved in doing anything for the fear that if/when I do that I won't be able to follow through with what I start... Not a good way of living and I must do something to correct my self-destruction..

Eating has been so off track since last Monday. Dad started my week off with him fixing huge breakfasts when I stayed with them and the days consisted of high fat/sugar @ each meal no matter who fixed them....My horrible habit is fixing what I know dad likes and I eat it too....

Since Tuesday of this week, I have begun elimintating the sugar & unhealthy choices....AGAIN!

I am off to get out of the house for a couple hours... Grab a few groceries, maybe a sfff latte & a walk in the park to clear the brain fog....

Today ~ 2 eggs,2 sl. oat honey toast, b.coffee

Tuna Sandwich

Pancakes w/ Lite Syrup

Been going through an employment screening process with Hallmark greeting cards for the last week and made it through today to having a phone interview on Sunday @ 5:15 p.m. Did not get out of the house today though....

Keep your head up. I know it is easy to feel like you are about to go under ( just look at my week) I always try to pick just one thing I know I can control and make it right, even if it is just cleaning out my closet and everything thing else is falling down around me... we all need that sense of control and completion... you can do it..

Glad to read the good news about your Dad!

You've been under extreme stress, worrying about your Mom and Dad, dropping everything to ne there for them and help them, taking care of them and doing your best to make them happy. I know. My Mom also had a cancer operation and good news is she is cancer free, too. Thank the Lord!!! It's so easy to reach for food for comfort when stressed out/depressed. My weight is up 3 in 4 days. Was down 4.5 for January, now 1.5, which is still progress, I know. Gotta get with it, I tell myself. I've been allowing stuff I don't usually eat...I won't go into details...I've been a crybaby today. It's hard sometimes. I just pray and recite the serenity prayer and think about God's Word saying '...ALL (not some) things work for GOOD to those who love the Lord, to the called according to His PURPOSE...'

Been getting the family all set up for the next 2-3 days while I'm gone.... I'm packed and about ready to leave til Wednesday....

I have had a good weekend of staying on track....

Dad's surgery tomorrow is suppose to be more in depth and harder to stitch up than the one before Christmas. I dread it for him. He is highly allergic to a couple pain medications and refuses to try any others most of the time. His heart stops and I can't blame him for being fearful.

I need as much sleep as possible, so I am staying with them tonight and saving myself from having to get up @ 4:00 a.m, so off I am and wishing you all a very good next few days....

Your in my thoughts as we each travel our own path to healthy living. Even when I'm not able to read/comment..... Ta Ta for now!

Got everything almost all dried out from the water heater trouble.... Received the blessing of a free one that someone had taken out for a remodel that is in fine shape to use..Total cost was $4 and some change for pipe seal & gaskets.... Craigslist has been such a great place for our family to find things this last year.

This morning Ben has youth group meeting and then we are on our way to my parent's house for the remainder of the day.... Keeping on track on the weekends is the hardest with being away from home so much. Being prepared with healthy foods to take or prepare is a habit to get back into.

My body is beginning to feel way less bloated & just plain ole icky now that 5 whole days have passed since getting back to the plan....Ahhhh!!!

Wow what a deal on the water heater!!! Way to go! So sorry that happened. I hear you about the less bloated and plain ole icky feeling man it just sneaks up before you know it, doesn't it. Then when we get back to healthy eating - we say "gee, how come......I feel so good now" At least I know that's what I say......We all love honey - what is firewood honey? We have sourwood and wildflower and clover (which I don't particularly like) all locally grown here,but never heard of the firewood kind. Also do you know anyway for honey not to turn to sugar ? We purchase big jars from the bulk containers at a local store and sometimes it turns to sugar and sometimes not......can't figure what is difference.

Friday has come quickly this week. Got the hot water heater to stop leaking and posted a want ad on craigslist before bedtime. Hubby was able to leave work this morning for enough time to go get one that someone offered for free for the getting out of their way from a remodel project.... It is a bit small, but we can use it til overtime paychecks kick in in a couple months..We will get a new energy efficient one. Possibly have another that someone is checking on the size and that would give us a back-up.... God is good!

Friday plan is to go unhook the old heater and suprise hubby when he gets home by having it done (I have all the power off at the braker box -promise!)....  Laundry,dishwashing,bed stripping, etc...

Saturdays anymore consist of whatever comes our way in the morning, then we go to dad/mom's for the afternoon til about 9:00 p.m... I fix supper for us all, pick out & press mom's church clothes, tidy the house and then we watch a movie...

Sundays are still a day of attending church. Ben & I stepped down from the worship team a few weeks ago. The 8-10 hours of practice a week were too much with the kids activities & helping with my mom....

This coming week I will be gone from home a couple/few days... Dad has surgery on Monday morning.

So I best be getting to working, as time just doesn't stand still like when I was younger (ha!).

FRIDAY

Breakfast ~ Honey Sunshine Cereal, Banana, Black Coffee

Snack ~ Orange

Dinner ~ PBH Sandwich (45 cal bread)

Snack ~ Apple/Few Tortilla Chips

Supper ~ Left-Over Scratch Soup

Snack/Dessert ~ Sm. Bowl Cereal

H20 = Not enough
