Teetering on the verge of a very exciting change... With that being said. I'm sure when it happens, some people may be able to hear me scream/holler/cheer for a few mile radius. I almost did today, but contained myself until another day. Needless to say, it was increased motivation to keep plugging along and enjoy this journey if that's possible. Just keeping in mind the end result will be worth it all.

Easter was mostly like any other Sunday other than Paul worked (frosty weather made for 3 nights of phone calls all through the night) and we just stayed home for dinner. Yesterday I didn't feel well for the most part. Today feeling much better. Went to the thrift store to find a few like-new pieces of clothing for Spring/early Summer. My near brand-new Levi's purchased @ Macy's beginning of the year are going to be heading to the thrift store to pass along to someone else after having to pull them up all day today while in town.

10 oz. acv drink

2 backyard eggs, 1 sl. Ezekiel toast, grapefruit.. d.coffee

Hanging in there. Officially changed the number today. Wasted yesterday away doing absolutely nothing but necessary. Got in a 4.5 mile walk on Sunday (walked to evening church service and back home). Cherry, pear and apple orchards are getting into full bloom.       

 

                                        

Will be back later to catch up on ya'll. Meg is on Sprink Break. Taking advantage of her willing spirit to help....A lot to get done around the house in case Easter dinner winds up here. Holidays are so hard anymore and my wish is to celebrate the day for what it's meaning is, but not make a HUGE deal for a dinner, etc. My other 3/4 are on board with that. One not under this roof won't have any part of it and pitches a huge hissy fit (turns to guilt trip)... Keeping the peace

Short n sweet.... Thursday was good. Nail spa, shopping, walked to meet Meg @ Zumba late evening. What went downhill for a mile, turned around to be the mile up and over the hill to home. Gluteus MAXIMUS is feeling it tonight after this 3rd time on such an incline this week so far. Miss the countryside, but closer to home and less street lighting did give us a pleasant surprise as the frogs did their croaking in the pond across the road.

Heavy rain came through the night and into this morning. Chilly and a bit dreary. Hope to get a walk in a little bit later. Plan is to start mixing up the exercise between just walking, living room circuit and dance. One day just walk, next- walk/circuit, next- walk/circuit/dance and make that the cycle. Of course weather has an impact upon that workin or not. One day at a time. And after today, odds look pretty good for a while.

Plan for earlier to bed/earlier up 1/2 worked last night/this morning... Last night was a success. This morning was not. I dreampt a lot through the night and the sleep was not restful. First night in several weeks I'd not taken melatonin. Started something new last night. I say that although it's just been one night/morning. Hopefully it will continue as is strogly desired. Prepared for bed @ 9:15 p.m. last night. Turned the lights out @ 10 p.m. and no internet, t.v. or reading no matter who may still be up. Set 4 alarms for this morning between 5 & 9 with each an alarming notification to get across the importance of getting up at each of the times. Go up @ the 6 a.m. one. The 5 a.m. may of been an overachiever for the first day... hehehehehehe.

10 oz, acv drink

Steel cut oats, walnuts, raisins, 1 TBS. blackstrap molasses, 1/4 c. milk. d. coffee

Left-over beans, sprinkle of parmasan, avocado

3 mile walk

Apple, natural peanut butter

10 oz. acv drink

Stir-fry (cabbage, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, edamame, asparagus, turkey bacon sauteed in olive oil.. sprinkled w/ hemp hearts n almonds)

Got knocked off kilter/routine/schedule starting last Friday. Made me grumpy, but I kept that attitude to myself until last night on our way home from getting a few groceries after church service..... Then had to voice a little bit of dislike going on 8:30 p.m. and asked Paul to drop me off a ways from home to walk beings as I hadn't "walked" or done a circuit workout since Thursday afternoon.

Friday, sissly-friend wanted to go to a Spring "open house" @ a local primitive decor business then out to lunch, then , then , then......... The entire time together was like a pi&&ing contest (sorry, but darnit! Exactly how I felt and I don't often voice such..This is the only "neutral" place I can get some things out.) I believe she noticed a change in my looks since being able to go down the pant/shirt size and that set her off on talking about "weight", "diet", "eating habits", "supplements", "lifestyle", "etc." of which none was brought up by me at any time. She always says she's very comfortable in her body and has no issues with letting people know where she stands whether they be a friend or stranger if/when comments may fall upon being overweight. My lifestyle change is not to get an up on anybody, seem better than or make anybody feel bad about their lifestyle. Haven't told anybody what I'm doing, it's all by observation when they're around me. I feel there is no need to make it the topic of a conversation unless it's a partnering endevour or if someone asks what I'm doing. Anyway, I pray as I downsize, it doesn't effect our friendship as she has no interest in getting rid of her way of eating. Non-meat eater by choice @ age of 7, but diet consists of sugar, pasta, bread, sweets, coffee, diet soda, cheese and a few veggies. LOVE HER TO PIECES, just hard and learning that it's ok. for me to continue on because I'm doing this 110% for my health and let the chips fall where they may as to how she reacts. Not on me! We did go out to eat, but I ordered a 1/2 caesar salad and ate a few appertizer artichoke hearts. I needed to go to the health food store nearby for some tea....That began an hour of inquiry, so hopefully as time goes along and prayerfully my blood tests show the positive changes come June/July and more physical changes, it may be some inspiration rather than a threat. She's a beautiful woman and soul. We met when I was teatering on being under the 200# mark in 2009. Since, as the weight has been added to my stature, she has seemed more comfortable shopping (picking out my size/her size for us to both try on, etc.)....Brings me back to high school days of the measuring each other up to make self feel better about where the other may be if they weren't as thin, etc..... Want no part of it, so have been staying away from shopping trips for sure. She is supportive, but there is a hesitation to put a finger on that makes me somewhat sad in the fact of denial in statement of "comfortable in my skin" as it was apparent the other day she is/was having issues with my changes. I've been there myself before and stepping back although I said I wasn't jealous of another's success.. It so was!!!!!!!!  Self is responsible for self actions, reactions, behaviour and choices. End of story. End of the day together was ended late. Paul getting off work, both kids not home for the evening. Paul tosses out "let's go to....." for supper... UGH! Let him know his "support" was weak at the time....... Ordered salad with dressing on the side, had 1/2 baked potato and a few bites of steak...

Saturday brought a spontaneous short road trip. Paul wasn't in a mood to do anything around the house, weather was nice, etc. Took off for a few hours and returned home to take a couple individual slices of cake to brother for his birthday (didn't want to buy a whole cake due to sis-in-law's health and special diet now on dialysis). BUT, not until after we'd had a treat of homemade ice cream at a place I'm so glad is 45 miles from us... Grandma's Birthday Cake Batter (vanilla ice cream, birthday cake, swirled w/ frosting and batter- SINFULLY delicious one scoop cup!!!!!).

Sunday brought more normalcy. Yet, no walk or exercise as I was plain tired... Until opportunity for sanity sake at the stop light 1/2 mile from home Sunday night came a stroll.

Miraculously, this morning the scale remained the same and back to some familiarity.... I've tried my best to stick making wise choices in worst situations. Plus? That is  progress in the fact of normally I would of thrown in the towel and went "all out" in eating anything/everything in feeling a failure for not being able to be a stickler to 100% according to no bread, sugar, oils, etc...... This is "life" and not perfect! Nor am I, nor will ever be.... Best choices is best can do and move on along without beating up at the end of day as the head hits the pillow.

Each day, despite obstacles.... Proper water intake, acv drink 2 x daily and taking supplements is a must or I'll get lackadaisical.

Constantly researching...... I have added blackstrap molasses (sweetner w/ healthy benefits other than raw honey all the time), artichoke tea (have some on order after our manicurist offered me 3 tea bags to try and bought an artichoke to boil in the meantime- lower b.p./cholesterol/full of antioxidants/naturally sweet) and tumeric (anti-inflammatory I had used before, but doc said it may contribute to high b.p.- research all says otherwise...giving it a try again) to the pantry.

Long post I know, but had to get some stuff "out" of my system to get back on track and flush the negatives felt. Journaling for me to come back to someday is a great tool for the most part.

5 prunes, banana

Popcorn (popped plain then added 1 serving of 60% cocoa chips & almonds put in the micro unitl chips melted... Covered container and shook til popcorn was coated w/ chocolate...let cool)

10 oz. acv drink

Salmon, baked yam (like better than sweet potato-drier), mixed beans (cooked a pot of no salts)

It's tough when friends aren't on board with our lifestyle changes. You are so right though, we are doing this for ourselves and we can't be out to please anyone else with our choices! You have some interesting new additions to your diet. I knew about the turmeric since I have arthritis and it does help (plus I love the taste and I put it in curry probably once a week). I hope you have a good one!

The artiso/artichoke tea tastes like mild artichoke, but has a sweetness to it. Especially when hot. I like it for a change. Very prevalent with the Vietnamese for great reasons when I researched it. Learning from different cultures is kinda fun I think.... I plan to have a good one.... Thanks so much for your support!!!!!

Beautiful day! Got some household chores done and out the door for a walk the last couple days before Meg got home from school @ 2:30 p.m. She's due for her nails to be tended to so we're headed to town. Bought a couple real cute Gloria Vanderbilt lightweight sweatshirts that fit perfect, but debating on taking them back, cause they were more than I normally like to pay, but at the same time it's hard for me to find things I like 100% and don't have to compromise. Such a thrift that $34/ea. (was 40% off- geeze) was still steeply priced. Then again, have saved a lot of money on not eating out over the last 2 months and just bought 3 pair of Skechers ($280 value for $128).....Then again summer is coming and by the time I'd wear them again hopefully they'll be too big and could only be worn for lounging.. Yadayadayadayada...Normally, the thrift store is where my clothes come from. Picky, but thrifty.... Fickle is the word of the afternoon. Have them in a bag and will decide when we're in town to keep or return.

Has been a cloudy week so far....... Threats of rain, but just a few sprinkles. We never really had a Winter per say. The least amout of snow I can remember all my life. Official calling of Spring in a couple days. Been blessed to walk for 34 days out of the last 38 since beginning. Now, 74 days into this journey and haven't had a feeling of failure nor wanting to quit. Progress!

Tonight will be the 3rd reduction by 1/4 of the b.p. med. Down to 1/4 tab and 100% off on April 1. Going good :)

Cupcake (at this point was a girls friend and saved someone from getting their head bit off somewhere along the way today I'm sure...LOL)

1/2 sesame/honey bar, orange

Nachos (Beanitos pinto chips, skimp of lf mozarrella, avocado, tomato)

Chicken breast sandwich ( 2 sl. HealthFull bread, 1 tsp. mayo (meat was dry), 1 sl. cheese ) , apple..... Fixed potato soup for supper and wanted to eat it so bad, but that is one soup I can't stop eating until overstuffed- loads of crackers!

St. Patty Dayed it up for the family with corned beef n cabbage, Jones green apple/Juaritos lime soda, green sprinkled cupcakes. The corned beef wasn't done enough at suppertime, but the thought is what counted I reckon. Was "one of those days" after I got home from town, so wasn't surprised. One of my grocery bags broke open and my mixed fresh fruit container popped open along with a glass bottle breaking to bleed green down the driveway. Shard of glass covered the scattered fruit (picked most of it up, rinsed it real good and made sure no glass was in the pieces I ate- it's not cheap-had to savor some!).... Scrambled together some stuff from the fridge instead of defaulting to drive-thru. Mine was easy n done no matter. I love the applegate turkey bacon, but it's not a fave of the others or they'd had the same.

I was so upset not to have the typical st paddy's day cabbage this year...maybe next year i'll be able to buy it to from a place that makes it really well! I love the taste of really good marinated and cooked cabbage...

your stir fry cabbage dish sounds awesome! and I also love eggs for breakfast.
