(Food Log~Walk~Bike~Ball~Gazelle~Positive Thinking)
Weight: 201.0

Wednesday already !?!?!?!?!...... Busy with laundry, dishes, vacuuming & getting one off to pre-school.... Day will end a bit earlier than 5:00 I think.... Dad will be picking the boys up again.... Need to go to the bank, so not sure a walk can be wedged in this evening before church time....

Having the bike and the Gazelle now is helping me not be so disappointed about the potential of not walking. Plus when I do those 2 things of a day & get to walk, I consider it a "bonus" walk..... When I sit watching t.v. or have a block of time, I am more apt to get on for a mile of this & a mile of that too now these things are staring at me constantly...... Reading success stories or seeing people on t.v. that have reached a weight goal, I often thought when they said that they exercised every possible time they could...."I couldn't do that"... Always wanted to be able to feel that gumption though... Now I understand, it is what some may call an obsession, but I see those opportune times again and figure I will be doing better for myself by breaking it up. Changes between the bike & Gazelle speeds. Walking is slow/ fast/slow/fast/slow. The exercise ball is more toning and muscle work... Amazingly I am feeling changes taking place this week....Doing things throughout the day just in little incraments are helping me to not want to eat so much..... I'm not wanting to spoil the work I've accomplished.... Plus going back to the dreaded calorie counting.......  Providing childcare, planning on a time or thinking I can do things usually doesn't pan out, so it was time to face the music and stop ignoring the fact that I CAN do something, even if it is a little bit at a time... I am an "all or nothing" type person, so as Maria once said... "sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone".... It isn't as bad as one may think it to be...... Try it, you might like it! OR not... We will never know unless we try....

Menu & Activities

7:15 ~ Banana, SFSM Coffee (110)

8:30 ~ Healthy Nut Muffin w/ Simply Fruit (200) 310

Carrots, Few Cheesy Crackers, Yogurt, Cheerios (265) 575

SGFB Toast, Albacore, 1/2 Avocado, Tomato, Pickle, Egg Whites...... Grapefruit (430) 1,005

Kid's dinner done, Ryder on the bus, Tayt & baby napping, 3rd load of wash in dryer & my dinner eaten.... Got started on a 45 minute workout of 1 mile of bike~2 miles of Gazelle~1 mile of bike..... Of course into the second mile of Gazelle, the phone rang.. I had put it close to me just in case... Decided heck with it and put it on "speaker"... kept going... My sis-in-law didn't stay on the phone too long... She struggles with weight issues & continues to tell me she is losing weight, but I know that isn't the case....Competition feelings kick in.... She has several health issues, including chronic pancreatitis (BS >600 @ times), but continues to drink diet pop, eat breads, tortillas, loads of cheese, crackers, sweets, etc & just compensate with her insulin.... I didn't feel rude as this 1-3:30 p.m. time frame is "my break time" when the kids are napping usually.... She knows and I told her I would call back later... It is my prayer for her to see the changes in me to help her out... But, can't make her do anything she doesn't want for herself... Just like any of us....

I'm sweaty as a stuck pig and would love to shower, but can't.... Going to wash my face.....Tayt just woke up and Ben is getting home... Snack time for them!

Proposed remainder of the day....

Apple (80) 1,085

Oatmeal,Tiny Box Raisins, Walnuts, Skim Milk (320) 1,325

Skinny Cow Skinny Dipper (80) 1,405

Walk of 3 miles(before church) & 20 minutes of exercise ball with 5# weights (after church).... If I can't walk due to time restraint, then 1 mile each of Gazelle/Bike & 20 minutes of exercise ball w/ weights will be done when I get home from church... Boys were gone by 4:30... Took off on foot @ 4:39 and walked what I think was 3.5 miles... If my memory serves me correctly the path I took is just that or close to it....Will re-check one of these days soon.... Skipped going to the bank and took the opportunity to walk in daylight.... Thick fog came in about 15 minutes after I got home... We almost didn't go to church and now it is "freezing fog".... ICK!!!!!

Ate supper before church for a change, cause it was easy & fast (usually eat about 9:00 on Wed...)... Now we are home and I am wanting a bowl of cereal or something light..... I will fight the urge, work a few minutes with the exercise ball and go to bed to watch Law & Order..... Hubby will take my banking for me tomorrow... AND the brothers are leaving @ noon tomorrow...  Weather permissive, my plan is to daylight walk it again soon as Tayt is gone home....

NightyNight!

H2O ~ 90 oz. by 4:00 p.m.... No less than 120 oz. by 9:00 p.m.

January walking = 46.5 miles

Biking = 12.5 miles

Since 02/01/08 walking = 928 miles

Progress as of today: 36 lbs lost so far, only 46 lbs to go!

Hello there :-) You are doing great!

skinnyjeans on 01/14/2009:
Glad you have workout options when it's so cold outside! Keep up the great work!!

Justine6Robert3 on 01/14/2009:
Great job on the exercise! I'm all or nothing with the exercise also and I definetly get a litte "obsessive" about it but I guess it's better than dreading exercise....I really do enjoy it most days :0)

Doesn't matter how you get it in as long as your doing it! I think exercise in little increments is a good thing because it keeps those calories burning through-out the day! Good job on your water intake so far also!

mcwoo40 on 01/14/2009:
Well done on the lb thinny, your doing brill.Have a great day Julie

selina on 01/14/2009:
you are doing fantastic! Congrats!

I hope you can see my exhibits some day, too! Warm hugs to you, amazing girl!

Maria* on 01/14/2009:
Another entry of yours that I LOVE! (Thanks for what you wrote about me, too!)

You sure are a VERY INSIGHTFUL person...have you ever taught Sunday School Class? Bet you did/would do outstanding! You have the CARING about others as well as you are gifted in being able to 'see into' others' problems and give them encouragement.

There is something you wrote in today's entry that I'm going to think about. It is: Doing things throughout the day just in little incraments are helping me to not want to eat so much.....

I'm going to think about doing what I can along and along that will be helpful in getting to goal... BABY STEPS...one step at a time!

Have a blessed day!!!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/14/2009:
to add to your thoughts, i feel that we must realize we can do this...not just try to push a thought aside that "we can't" when we should really be proving we can.

starfish on 01/14/2009:
Hi there :-) I am doing Atkins. But I'm planning to do it the right way. where you slowly add things back in over the weeks. I've been pretty happy with it so far :-) Thanks for the comment!

Maria* on 01/14/2009:
Fixing to leave for church service...hope you've been having a good day!

WI3 on 01/14/2009:
My sister is morbidly obese, only has one functioning kidney, high blood pressure that she sometimes controls, and refuses to go on a diet. I think she refuses because she is afraid. She was really feeling it a few years back and started losing weight, and then got pregnant with a baby she thought she'd never be able to have. And then she regained plus some. I know if she ate right, she would feel better, and she would see things differently. But we can't force anyone to do what is best for themselves, we can just be the shining light. I am hoping that because I lost so much weight and regained it and am losing it again, that I can be the example she needs to not be afraid to try again. Have a great night!

WI3 on 01/14/2009:
Yep, I agree with you 100%!

mama_nurse on 01/14/2009:

Hope you have a great evening~

(Food Log~Walk~Bike~Ball~Gazelle~Positive Thinking)
Weight: 202.0

Didn't get the goal achieved before the boys got here this morning.. I got up too late.... I am not a morning person!... I will still get it done today though...

Put on my old walking shirt on this morning... The "Get your daily exercise, walk with me - God" one I bought last March... I must say my my my... It hangs on me!.... Used to get hung up on the "spare tire", now hangs straight down below my fanny (night shirt style) and slop slop slop off the shoulders.... As I approach being here 1 year, exactly 1 week & 1 day from today...It is a good reminder of where I was for sure... We will be going out to eat on Meg's b.d.(20th) and I started DD the day after a birthday dinner in her celebration of turning 8... I was so desperate that day and welcomed by omahagrl(crategrl), biscotti, dearerdiarist, leeumom, kopsman, harleygrl, Workinit2 (WI3), abdab, Maria, McWoo, Phoenixrising, legcramps, crittermom, H_O_P, hollybelle and many other I miss from my beginning days...  Feeling so "fat" and like I wanted to crawl out of my skin, I found that I wasn't the only one with a "struggle" and I found what I had needed for many years in support of wanting to change my life........Then shortly after came Manu (Grumpy), who brought on rlovell (loveray) & a little later came selina, Cybermom, Beth201P, kzirkle, skinnyjeans & others who have stuck with it, despite obstacles...I am not leaving anyone out intentionally, just so many to name..... This new year has brought some people who I believe are in it for the long haul as well....For that I am so excited to see goals accomplished...

My original name reflected EXACTLY how I felt (thinnsidenotout).... I don't feel so much the desperation I did that day that my Heavenly Father lead me to DD, but have learned to love myself for who I am at the time and moment I am in....Seeking God's help first & feeling I am worth spending time on me, even if it means taking time away from something else that I may feel at the moment is more important than me, but usually isn't and is an excuse truthfully to get out of "working" on myself..... I had been robbing myself, therefore robbing my family of the best me I can be... I have learned to prioritize "me" at times I never would of in years past.....  Weeding out the 20's from the closet, unburying the 18's that have been unworn for too many years....  Feeling those 18's getting looser and not having many 16's in my closet  when I get there (soon?!?!?!?!?)... You know that means "shopping".. Yaya!!!!  Been (choke choke), a good 9-10 years since that size has been worn and what I do have is out of style..... Though I wish I would of been more diligent in getting to goal this last 6 months especially, I cannot change it and must move on. Fighting my way through those issues that hung me up in the past... Those are learning tools to utilize in the remainder of my journey and I have no regrets, just thankful that I stuck it out and remain on this journey with a great bunch of wonderful people world-wide....

I wanted to do this today, cause on the 21st, I just want to celebrate my 1 year marker...Not reflect, just celebrate life as it is now and for where it is going in 2009..... I love being an encouragement, friend & cheerleader, cause you ALL should know by now that I want your goal to be met just as bad as I want it for myself, even when I may not be doing so hot at the time...... To have that taste of success is sweeter than any candy & priceless to boot.... To have the "feel good" going on is amazing! We must do this for ourselves, cause nobody else can.... They can encourage, sympathize, empathize, kick-patoot, opinionize, say what seems easier said than done, tell us "been there, done that" etc.... But, in the end it is believing in ourselves to get where we want & need to be in order to be a healthy weight... Do we want to be jealous of somebody else's achievements & met goals or do we want to be the one making someone else jealous?. I have felt jealous at times, but then have to realize I hindered my own progress and cannot feel "wish I woulda", but "I'm gunna"....... I would rather be the inspiration, than to be the "envious"...... I gather so much inspiration from many of you.....

Menu & Activities

1/2 Banana, Cheerios, Yogurt, Coffee (215)

Carrots, 1/2 Apple, 6 Plain Almonds (117) 332

Boys are all here...No pre-school for the one today... 'bout time to fix their dinner.... Naptime will be my time to work-out....

Salad (Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Avocado, Egg Whites & Lite Ranch)..... Orange (366) 698

Naptime fell through... The one boy is so anxious about his dad picking him up that he asks every 5 minutes if its time yet.... This will be the first time I've seen "dad" in a long time, due to the divorce...A bit anxious myself..... I will need a walk by 4:30 p.m.! Holding my "cool" at this point of patience testing.....  I want my mommy!!!!!!!!!!!!.... Which brings me to a phone call I received from my mom a bit ago... They had to put my grandma's dog to sleep.... Recently we discovered she had cancer.... Dad took her over to the vet yesterday....and second part of the conversation was my mom has a Dr. appointment for her memory loss issues on Thursday.... She seems o.k. with all of it and I told her that I was very glad she wasn't ignoring the issues..... Whew!... That could of been very ugly... Answer to prayer that she is o.k. with it for sure..... Off to referee!

Things got much worse this afternoon, so I had the boys seperated for a bit... I pulled out my exercise ball and gave them each "airplane rides" holding their hands and having them centered on my feet.... as I used the ball to balance myself hugged up against the couch and my head/upper back on the couch...Tayt is about 30#'s & Ryder about 50#'s... The height of the couch and ball give me the ability to lay flat with my feet flat on the floor...I do the same when "air bicycling" and lifting weights.... Ab toning!....  UGH.... my thighs are feeling it now too.... Things got better and "dad" came @ 4:15.....Tayt is left and should be gone about 4:30... I was able to alternate each mile between the bike & Gazelle for 6 miles... Hitting the muddy road on foot A.S.A.P.

O.K. last update & tomorrow won't be so long..I promise!.... Walked 3 miles.... Headed for a cup of hot cocoa  & a hot bath....It was 28 degrees......BL later..... Nighty Night!

Hot Cocoa, Sprouted Grain Flax Bread, Simply Fruit (125) 823

Left-Over Soup,  SGFB, Honey (420) 1,243

Mini Bag Popcorn (100) 1,343

Worked out during last 45 minutes of BL...1 mile (G) 1 mile (B)15 minutes weights & EB...

H2O= 120 oz. by 10:00p.m.....

January walk miles = 41

Bike miles = 10.5

Walked since 02/01/08 = 922.5 miles

THANK YOU DD cyberbuddies...... I love you!

Progress as of today: 35 lbs lost so far, only 47 lbs to go!

grumpy on 01/13/2009:
You are so good on keeping track of all of us. I know exactly what you mean, I also could be lower now if not for my slips and the challenges on the way, but I also don't feel nearly as desperate as I felt when we first started and it's been so great to go through this process with people like you and all the other DDers. :) Congrats on noticing and enjoying your progress after a year of hard work. What do you say? let's lose another 30 lbs in 2009? Love ya!

skinnyjeans on 01/13/2009:

omahagrl on 01/13/2009:
How fast the year has gone by...you have become such a dear friend and every day you motivate me and keep me positive. I always refer to you as my friend in Washington and I know that we will succeed this year in our goal. Big (((((HUG)))))

happymommy2girl on 01/13/2009:
Being new on here, it was nice to learn a little about some of what you have gone thru and to know that people are here for the haul! Sorry you had so many distractions into your workout, but it sounds like you compensated and made use what you did have time to do with the kids! That is a great idea and fun for the kids and gave you different muscles to use. Sounds like you had a great day!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/13/2009:
i gather inspiration from you too. i honestly believe this is the best website out there in terms of free, honest, and caring support. among other things! even friends.

we all go through not so great times....ugh...i just have to mention in because my night is going horribly!...

but the main point is we all have it in us to succeed and we sometimes just need a little outside support!

mama_nurse on 01/13/2009:
You had a great day~ :)) YAY!! Thanks again for all of your inspiration!

mama_nurse on 01/13/2009:
I ended up not having time to watch BL tonight~so recording it and will watch it sometime over the weekend.

WI3 on 01/13/2009:
Inspirational! Thank you for that!

And, for that, you can have ALL my fish! LOL

Have a wonderful evening!

happymommy2girl on 01/13/2009:
Yes mama_nurse is a wonderful person and we have known each other for several yrs now. She told me about DD, so I can give her credit for me being her.

selina on 01/13/2009:
I love the way you incorporate exercising while caring for the children! I can picture you doing the airplane rides, hehe. You had a very successful day today, indeed! Hugs to you!

loveray on 01/14/2009:
this entry is amazing- have you considered being a life coach by any chance? i am dead serious...i want you to know that when i started on here (although maybe at a "lower weight") i was as broken as they come: in a relationship with a man who never intended to be with me, a sick mother, work drama and losing a dog and friends...you helped me see that i deserve the best both outwardly and inwardly- thank you and congrats on all of your hard work!! xoxo

Maria* on 01/14/2009:
Hey, Friend! Hope you're having a lovely day!

thinnside40 - Monday Jan 12, 2009
(Healthy Foods/Walking/Exercise Ball/Food Journal)
Weight: 202.0

Survived the busy weekend and ready to have a great week...

Time restraint prevented walking yesterday.. It was perfect weather too... Went a whopping 8/10th mile on the bike .

I am headed to go get on it right now, as the brothers came in tired and fell asleep... They get up @ 5:30 a.m.... and Tayt isn't here yet... I told hubby that I think I will really utilize this bike, cause I can get on it whenever I have the time. The Gazelle is a bit more of a challenge in unfolding/folding. It's not able to be set up all the time.... I will still use it when kids aren't here & toys aren't strung all over....

Banana (7:30)...... (85)

Oatmeal, WWF English Muffin (8:45)..... (320) 405

Collectively today =3.2 miles logged on the bike.... Decided to fix a big pot of cabbage soup... Cabbage has been begging to be fixed all last week.... Put chunked cabbage in a bit of water, then added garlic & onion powders, LS V-8, NS diced tomatoes, dash of worstershire and will add some beans in a bit.... Will give it a value of 100 calories per cup I guess....

1/2 sm. Apple & 12 Plain Almonds (120)  525

Grapefruit & HOS Triscuits (210) 735

I added carrots to the soup & by the time supper comes around I probably will put some chicken breast in it.... Will bump the calories to 180 per cup to be on the safe side.... As I looked at it cooking and wanted some for dinner, came to me that hubby & the kids would probably eat it too... Supper is done!.... Yes..........  Ate my weird dinner combo and then went 2 miles on the Gazelle.... Tayt was enjoying his quiet afternoon playing cars & the baby was asleep..... Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! It will end in 2 minutes with Ben being home... Meg will be home @ 3:45 and Ryder @ 4:05 p.m..... 5:00 will be a time to decide to walk or not.... I want to at least go 2 miles for the fresh air... Sun is shining so bright that I want to go NOW.... I'll suffice with moonlight I guess....

Mini Bag Popcorn, 5 Plain Roasted Peanuts, (135) 870

Took off on foot @ 5:15 and got home @ 5:44.... Went 2 miles... Readying to get my jammies on and wait for hubby to get home to taste that soup.... It smells so good....... Dumplings would be delightfully tasteful to top it all off, but we won't do that....

Quaker Rice Mini Rice Cakes (same calorie count as the toast would of been @ suppertime)

2 C.Soup, Sprout Grain Flax Toast, Honey (460) 1,330

S.F. Jell-O (20) 1,350

1 Mile Gazelle, 1 Mile Bike....... Tired & ready for bed.... This will be the earliest I have went to bed in a very long time... I usually have to be sick or fall asleep on the couch if it is before 10:30-11:00 p.m..... I will read a bit..... I ate a piece of bread w/ honey after all  & a few more mini rice cakes (their hid now).... So total for the day will be around 1,500 -1,600... Give or take a few, cause I wasn't exactly sure on the soup... AND boy it sure was good.... Everybody liked it!...... First goal of tomorrow morning will be to work-out on the exercise ball with 5# weights before showering & the boys get here.... NighNight...... : o)

H2O = 125 Oz. by 9:30 p.m.

Jan. Walk = 34 miles

 Biking = 6.5 miles

02/01/08 - Now = 915.5

Much Love,Happiness & Success wished for you!

Progress as of today: 35 lbs lost so far, only 47 lbs to go!

Maria* on 01/12/2009:
Cute picture above!

I guess you are on your bike right now.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Will check later for your update.

Maria* on 01/12/2009:
Well...in response to your comment about the Adam and Eve foods...Theirs was readily accessible...since they lived in the Garden of Eden, they only needed to 'pick' what they wanted and eat it...and like you say...eat it raw, I guess...which would be good...

What if we lived in a place nowadays where there were no stores? And if we didn't have a farm or garden? I guess we'd be looking for small animals...hopefully we'd know how to 'make fire' like the man on survivor man on tv has shown... We'd probably be looking for trees bearing nuts, like pecans, walnuts, etc...also trees bearing fruits like pears, etc... We'd probably spend so much time looking for and chasing after food that by the time we got it, we'd be used up LOTS of calories!

grumpy on 01/12/2009:
That's so great that you're using the bike now. Plus change your exercise routine around is always great. xo

skinnyjeans on 01/12/2009:
Great job making low-cal soup! And you got on the bike, too...you are doing great!!

mama_nurse on 01/12/2009:
soup sounds delicious~i love soup on cold days!! yummo! also, i am so happy that the bike is working out so well for you!!! hope you have a fantastic day xo

mama_nurse on 01/12/2009:
thanks for your inspirational words and also, thank you SOOO much for the prayers!!! I really really really appreciate them soooo much :)) xo!

Maria* on 01/12/2009:
Please pass the soup!!!! YUM!!!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/12/2009:
nice job on cooking that yummy meal, good calories, and exercise.

mama_nurse on 01/12/2009:
I eat skinny cow too (the ice cream products)....laughing cow are cheeses~they make a light laughing cow wedge (that's a soft, spreadable cheese) and a laughing cow light baybel (that's semisoft you can cut it and put on crackers, etc) the spreadable ones are 35 cals and 2.5 grams protein and the baybels are 50 cal and 5 g protein....go to laughingcow.com and you can browse their products, i only buy the light ones but they are SOOOOOOO good. you can find them by the specialty cheeses in your store...

mama_nurse on 01/12/2009:
sounds like you had a great day~yay!!! :)

selina on 01/12/2009:
Hi Thin! I bet you enjoyed the moonlight walk, the moon is really beautiful nowadays! One thing that I noticed in the NW was that the days are really much shorter than they are here in Switzerland, at least by one hour in the am and another hour in the pm.... I guess it could be worse, like in Iceland where my friend lives. She says that there are only a few hours of daylight in the winter. I don't know if I would like that too much..

That soup sounds really good. I think I will make one, too! Have a great day, my friend!

selina on 01/12/2009:
those kitties are so cute in the picture! i remember doing that growing up, hehe

Today will be busy..... In a moment I will be fixing french toast for the family (not usual for me on Sunday)....Plan is to get on the bike between toast flips, then shower in time to allow us to be "on time"... We were last Sunday!... Yay!... I will come home to fix meatballs & peach cobbler for a potluck/business meeting @ 6:00 p.m.... Hoping to sneak at least a lil' nap in somewhere..

Oatmeal, Grapefruit, Coffee (240)(160)

Went 3/10 mile on the bike....Made it to church a few minutes early and I wound up playing the piano for main service...... Stopped by the mini mart on the way home and I got a diet soda (filled the cup to the brim with ice) .... Mixed up enough hamburger, cracker crumbs, eggs, worstershire, garlic, onion, Italian dressing & ketchup to make 5#'s worth of meatballs... Ben is forming them.. He loves to use the cookie dough scoop to make them uniform... Now I must get with making pie crust..... Going to eat some dinner and make sure to eat lightly @ suppertime...

Banana (85) 245

Light n Fit Yogurt w/ MultiGrain Cheerios (170) 415

Potluck Foods.... Look for salads!!!!!..... Will be conservative in my choices, but have no idea how many calories I will eat.....

H2O = 64 oz by 2:00 p.m.

Progress as of today: 35 lbs lost so far, only 47 lbs to go!

grumpy on 01/11/2009:

WI3 on 01/11/2009:
yummmmmmm meatballs...congrats on getting your exercise done! I'm fixin to take a nap myself LOL have a great evening!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/11/2009:
have a good time tonight...you certainly watched your cals which was a great move! :) i like the idea of just oatmeal and a large tea or something for breakfast. :) that i actually used to do a lot. i just try to make sure i'm not adding any other sugars...and usually the oatmeal would be plain otherwise...well, binge central here i come!

your picture up there is really cool. one of my favorites. the colors pop!

selina on 01/12/2009:
Afternoon naps, meatballs and peach coblers are my favorites! Sounds like Ben is a great kid, helping you out like that - good for you for training him! My MIL keeps telling me that I must teach my daughter to do chores, for her own good. She will be proud when she hears that Daughter helped me with the vacum cleaning over the weekend!

MIL came with us to the East Coast, so we don't know how the house is doing. I'm assuming that the flood did not affect her house because it is located in a very high area, on a hill, and because she doesn't have a basement. Because she is on a hill, she does get more snow than in the main part of town and her main concern was the roof that was getting very heavy with snow. Because so many roofs collapsed in the region (mainly flat roofs,) she decided to have it cleaned twice, the second time just before we left to the east coast. Her neighbors are watching the house for her and no news is good news..... She used to spend most winters in California when her husband was still alive and well, so again, I'm assuming she doesn't have a problem with flooding...

You made me very happy for welcoming me back so enthusiastically, I really appreciate it! Have a great day, Thin!

Maria* on 01/12/2009:
Hope you are having a real nice day today and enjoying that new bike! Love, Maria

(Healthy Foods/Walking/Exercise Ball/Food Journal)
Weight: 202.0

Up early for a Saturday...... Woke and couldn't go back to sleep...  I'm headed shopping in a few minutes... We didn't make it to WalMart last night.... I spent too much time @ Goodwill.. Ben's practice wasn't long enough either... That's o.k...... This will allow me some "me" time out of the house....

Oatmeal, Banana, Coffee (250)

Shopped WalMart, Oroweat Oultet, Ye Ole' Lighthouse (a thrift store that proceeds go to our local Gospel Mission), Grocery Outlet & the supermarket... Good thing the family stayed home!. I didn't have room for them by the time I got home.... Ha Ha!!!!!!... Filled the trunk @ WalMart with a air resistance bike.... YAY!!!!!!! Used my Christmas $$$$ to put in towards it....

Bought a nice pair of dress pants for $1 @ the thrift store and a couple things to sell on Ebay (I hope)..... I don't buy meat or produce @ WalMart except for my salmon chunks, lettuce & tomatoes..., so had to stop by the supermarket to get chicken & veggies, etc...... Been gone most of the day and have enjoyed it... Bought a bottle of Light n Fit Smoothie (70) to drink @ 3:45 and that was the only thing I had to eat (drink, I guess) while running around...Before shopping I did buy a S.F.F.F. Latte (80?) and sipped on it most of the morning... I'm @ 400 calories @ this point...

Got home, ate an orange (80) and asked hubby to take a walk with me... We went 3 miles.... I was hungry!..... Fixed supper of Whole Wheat Flax English Muffin, Simply Fruit, Scrambled 1 Egg/2 Egg Whites, Grate of Mozarella Cheese, Tomato & 1/2 Avocado (606)....I'm @ 1,086 calories @ this point....

FINALLY got hubby to retrieve the bike from the tunk.. He is putting it together & Meg is helping... In the microwave is an apple drizzled with fireweed honey & 10 almonds (200).... I'm @ 1,286 calories @ this point and I'm done!..... I will eat my apple as I watch MONK & wait for the first ride when the assemblers are done...

Whoops... Forgot I drank some grape juice w/flavored sparkling H2O.... (120)... Total for Saturday is..1,406

Gave the bike a whirl for 1.5 miles.... Shall be a good work-out and the adjustable tension is awesome!.... Can move or leave stationary the handle bars too.... Yipee!!!

Nighty Night!

H2O = 110 oz.....

February Walk Mileage = 27

Bike Miles (seperate from walking) = 1.5

Mileage walked since 02/01/08 = 910.5

MUCH LOVE, HAPPINESS & SUCCESS WISHED FOR YOU !

mama_nurse on 01/10/2009:
yay on the bike!!! :) and good finds at the thrift store. :)) why don't you buy most meat at walmart? is there a specific reason? i do think that supermarket produce is MUCH better though than walmarts and usually buy it there~however, i do buy all natural chicken and lunch meats at walmart. just nosey and curious! lol so a warmed apple huh? i've never even thought of that....what does warming it in the microwave do? how long do you put it in for? sooooo glad you enjoyed your long day:))

mama_nurse on 01/11/2009:

(Healthy Foods/Walking/Exercise Ball/Food Journal)
Weight: 202.0

Morning is cold outside, but warm, quiet & peaceful inside.... Tossed a couple logs on the fire and sipping coffee.....

No Gazelle & no ball last night.... I planned on doing it after supper, but fell asleep on the couch afterwards until the phone rang letting us know that there had been a drive by shooting next door to my brother..... GANGS!!!!!  6 shots fired through a window, but no one injured.... Our town is saturated with gang activity... Everywhere, no matter how nice a neighborhood...We live 11 miles from center of town, but always fear as houses erect over night (seems like anyway) that crime rate will increase inevitabely.... We have our theory or actually true facts as to why crime rate has increased, but that is something to be not "aired"....

Tossed the package of Khashi Trail Mix Cookies last night... Ate 2 before supper....Went back for another with the 2nd in mouth.. Spit out the remainder unchewed and tossed the rest.... It was the last of ones I bought on sale and had in the freezer... Their good warmed in the microwave...   Hubby had stopped by the store for me (13 hour produce sale) before coming home, so supper was a bit late again....

Today will be busy with babysitting & housecleaning. Hoping to fit in Gazelle when the one boy heads to pre-school and the other 2 nap... I need to go WalMart shopping tonight, so my weekend is free of errand running.... My weekends are always full of "have-to's" and are gone before they get here usually....

Menu & Activities

Banana, Healthy Way Toast w/ Honey.... Coffee...Grape Juice (410)

S.F.S.M. Coffee (25) 435

Ryder just left for school...Baby is sleeping...Tayt is about ready to go down for a nap...Laundry still sits waiting to be sorted for folding... Salmon just got popped in the toaster oven...... Will eat about 1:00 p.m., then attempt the Gazelle (time depends upon the boys).... Going to avoid snacks today and stick with 3 meals.... So far so good.... No H/A or nausea..... AND attempting tallying #'s again....

I figure that Alli will start flying off the shelves now...At least those who are "WY" fans will attempt it... ... Saw the commercial featuring Wynona Judd this morning..... Oprah, Wynona, Kirsty (?), Marie, Valerie, Etc, Etc, Etc.... Maybe I will throw myself out there when I reach goal.... Ha Ha.... Don't have anything to sell  or have a BIG name unfortunately... I will never be a millionaire!... Darn!

Salmon, Salad (Lett., 1/2 Avocado, Cuc., Lt. Ranch), Orange (364) 799

Yogurt (50) 849

Boys left @ 5:00.. Took off on foot @ 5:07..... Went 3 miles....WOuld of went 4.5, but Ben had music practice @ 6:30..... Hubby,Meg & I are going to WalMart during Ben's time... Haven't eaten supper and don't have anything fixed (been one of those afternoons)...... Not sure when or what supper will be, but will make sure to choose wisely.....

 H20 = 120 oz. by 6:00 p.m.

Since 02/01/08 Mileage = 907.5

January 2009 = 24 miles

Progress as of today: 35 lbs lost so far, only 47 lbs to go!

mama_nurse on 01/09/2009:
thank you!!

we have a 3 bed apartment~i know we'll be moving soon (probably this summer or early fall) and therefore we didn't want to buy~especially with the market in our area...it'd be hard to sell~ so i totally hear ya on limited space...that's why i would need to be able to put it in my entry way closet or something when i wasn't using it...otherwise it'd totally be in the way of everything and people would be tripping over it etc...

grumpy on 01/09/2009:
Yea, im not overthinking the weight this morning, it's unrealistic that I am losing weight every day this week, so maybe i was lighter yesterday and heavier today for whatever reasons, i am probably in between those two. I know he is not suffering and that he doesnt care if he bumps into me or not, but I am and I am only thinking about myself. It would hurt me more to see him with another girl so early on, so i rather stay in for now. I will go to the movies tonight, but thats about it. One day I will feel better and not worry about that. Xo.

boy, you are busy! for some reason, i am NOT a fan of ALLI. i think it's weird what it does inside your body and how the fat simply comes straight out with your stool. i've tried it - and returned it. in generally, i don't like any kind of dieting pill.

i hope you have a good dinner and get everything accomplished that you want to!

I think that is soooooo awesome that your kids haven't stayed places! I feel that way too. I am super over-protective but gosh the world is scary these days! We are pretty conservative as well and it's so important to me! :) our kids are precious gifts from the lord and when we are helping them blossom it's our job to follow our instincts and protect them and do what's best for them AT ALL TIMES! Her sleep over went great~the mom of her friend is a nurse practitioner where I work so she completely understood me calling non stop and didn't mind at all~my little girl had a great time and that's all she has talked about all day~so things went well~But she probably won't be allowed to stay anywhere again for a loooonnng time :) Thanks for the apple tip~that sounds good~I'll have to try it! I just got home from walmart myself~decided I'd rather forego going tomorrow and go tonight since kiddies were sound asleep and daddy was doing some research....late night though (sigh). talk to you tomorrow :) be blessed!

Didn't choose the greatest day to weigh I'm sure, but I did and it is what it is... Between eating supper late last night and this morning wanting to crawl back into bed with a bottle of Advil, heating pad & watch movies all day....I'm not really in that great of mood & feel "zapped"..

ALL that snow from 2 days ago pictures is almost gone... Washington State is not in very good shape right now... Evacuations are taking place.. Yesterday 30,000 in Snoqaulmie area.. Ellensburg has a lot under water.. Selah (where I was raised) is going through evacuation by boat this morning in low areas.. Etc, Etc, Etc....My parent's are fine where they are in Selah.... Airplane is only choice for getting over any mountain... We are fine, but neighbors may not be... Creek that runs through their pasture is pretty high and the river above about 15 miles away is 6" over flood stage this morning......

I best get moving... Meg is almost ready for school, baby is asleep and laundry is staring me in the face.... I don't feel like the munchies are going to attack again today... I just don't get why hormones have to do that?!?!?!?!? At least it is just usually 1 day a month... Whew!

Menu & Activities

WW Flax English Muffin w/Honey, Egg/Egg White, Grape Juice & Black Coffee... My hens are still giving me 5-6 BIG brown beautiful eggs a day. Their happy!

Khashi Chewy Trail Mix Cookie & Mixed Berry Green Tea (w/o sweetner)... 40oz. H2o by 11:00 a.m.

Oatmeal, 5 Almonds, Tiny Box Rasins, Sprouted Grain & Flax Toast.... Diet W.C. Pepsi (last one from New Year's celebration)....90oz. H2o by 2:30 p.m. & another Green Tea (w/o sweetner)

Shredded my Chicken up and put it in the pot with navy beans, chili, onion & garlic powders....Added LS V-8, cause I forgot I didn't have anymore Diced Tomatoes... On the grocery list!

Mini Bag Popcorn..... 118 oz. H2o by 5:30 p.m.

No walk this evening... The winds are too fierce to tackle..Just not safe in the darkness.... I will get on the Gazelle and work with weights on the Exercise Ball..Which isn't all that bad of a thing to do.... Mix it up I guess....

Chicken Chili w/ dab of FF Sour Cream & 1/2 Avocado

S.F. Jell-O Pudding Cup .....

I've been watching the weather channel over the past few days and thinking about you and your family, hoping y'all stay safe. I know Washington State has really been having a lot of rain/snow/wind/flooding, especially on the western side towards the middle.

As for brown eggs, I still buy them occassionally at the grocery store...I love seeing that beautiful color! But they are higher priced than white eggs.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful day!

grumpy on 01/08/2009:
I am glad you gave a shout out to the girls who have been missing! I miss them too. And I have been through the exact same thing you're going through now and it's normal. Just hang in there. It can be that you ate later, or was retaining water, etc etc. But also when you've been dieting for a while and have lost a good amount, two things happen.. one, your body gets used to the new diet and the pounds dont go away as quickly as they once went. so it needs some adjusting at times. that can be doable or not. another thing is that we get used to knowing how to diet, because we have been doing it successfully for so long, that we relax a little. You're much better than I am, haha, but what happened to me is that I would start doing more often things that were an exception in the beginning. Just another thing to pay attention to. In any case, hang in there, do it extra hard this week (the weight in is definitely a motivation) and then you'll get back to losing. Love ya!

biscottibody59 on 01/08/2009:
Oh well--we have our work cut out for us! To your credit, you're still here--unfortunately too many of us simply give up when the going gets tough or it seems like the hill is too steep.

Not you--I know you're in it for the long haul!

BTW, you may want to seek out the book Ultrametabolism by Mark Hyman to read the chapter on thyroid. It's a little involved to explain it all here. Suffice to say there are some other tests your doctor needs to think about doing. Short story: the usual tests can measure in a normal range, yet your thyroid isn't functioning properly. News to me!

mama_nurse on 01/08/2009:
Your dinner sounds good~ I'm still not too sure what I'm going to make~I should get planning though! I don't like to plan too far in advance for meals because they also end up changing but I'm usually not deciding this late! LOL My oldest daughter has dance for 2 hrs this afternoon so between her getting out of school and taking her to dance I'll go to the grocery store and then have dinner ready when she is done at 530 pm.....hmmmm....maybe that chicken taco salad you were talking about would be good?!?!

thinnside40 - Wednesday Jan 07, 2009
(Healthy Living)
Weight: 198.0

Slept on the couch again last night... Forecast was for winds to reach  65-70 mph over night in areas.... Meg's room has a huge evergreen at the corner... Had her move to our bed just in case... We escaped the fierce winds like that, but this morning there are several outlaying areas with damage, downed trees, collapsed roofs, etc... Most mountain passes & roads are closed for avalanches or mud slides, plus flooding.... Looking for a temp of 54 today.. With winds.... I HATE strong wind!

Church tonight, so a walk probably won't happen unless the kids are all gone before 4:30 p.m (and the weather is cooperative)..... The brother's dad is suppose to pick them up today .. I haven't seen him since all the divorce mess, so I am kinda nervous to see him.. (he's a cheater!)... Pray I can get a walk in, cause I am already worked up about this (clinching my teeth, goosebumps, tight chest, clammy palms,  etc)  and I'll need something like my walking to relieve the tension at the end of the day......It was only inevitable that this day would come that he needs to be the one to pick the boys up..  Onto better thoughts!

One DDer said to me that they knew how I felt about being able to get back outside to walk... That it is a "love" for something that just changes one's whole perspective... It has rejuvenated me & makes me feel on top of my game again.... I came to the realization that my "drive", "determination" ,"tenacity", "sheer I WANT IT" & all those other things had went to the wayside, cause I was dwelling upon the negative of things as far as weather, daylight savings, etc..Instead of feeling I couldn't take a 6 mile walk, I should of been saying "what CAN I do? At least a little is better than none..."... After walking last night in what elements I did... I felt my self-worth and kept thinking that no matter what people may be thinking of me as they passed by... Who cares.... I would rather have someone thinking I was "nuts", instead of REALLY going nuts cooped up in the house and feeling totally crippled in my journey.... I CAN & I WILL shall be my motto. The walking and staying on track with my eating definitely go together, but I cannot crumble when there is no possible way to walk... I am not dwelling on what I haven't done, but what I CAN do from each day forward again... Again, Again, Again & Again....This IS the year to reach 155#'s!

Menu & Activities

Breakfast ~ Scrambled Egg Whites, 1/2 Avocado, Roma Tomato & A few Roasted Pine Nuts...25 cal. Coffee..... Sipping on a glass of Concord Grape Juice with Flavored Water between breakfast & snack...

grumpy on 01/07/2009:
I am sure no one thought you were nuts, it was more like "i wish i was as good as she is". That's how I would feel! You're doing great and I love how thoughtful you are and how you really use our comments and things you see and experience in life as a fuel to your plan. Loves ya.

I know, and I totally agree, I was just being dramatic.

grumpy on 01/07/2009:
Ive seen it. Awesome movie. Have you seen Billie Elliot? Rent it! hehehe Have a great afternoon. xo

InnerPeace on 01/07/2009:
Wow the snow is beautiful. I know about the wind, we have strong wind in OK all the time. That is true about walking I wanted to walk the other day when it was 22 out with strong wind making a 6 degree wind chill, my son tells me there's a treadmill in the garage, yeah but...i'm not outside.

crittermom on 01/07/2009:
Have you tried any of Leslie Sansone's exercise DVD's? They are all walking, with other exercises thrown in. Great for those days when the weather is crappy outside.

Also, my father-in-law goes to a local shopping mall to walk inside. It's a big deal in his area...with blood-pressure check points, etc set up. The mall opens a couple of hours before the stores are actually open, to allow the "Mall Walkers" to come in. Might be a good idea if your area is prone to extremes in temperatures and weather conditions.

Maria* on 01/07/2009:
It has also been very windy here today...when I was driving back home from visiting Mom and I stopped at the red lights, the wind had my vehicle just a rockin'! Came home and small limbs down from trees in our yards and on roof!

Glad y'all are safe!

Fixing to get ready for our church service tonite, too! Have a wonderful evening, Thin!

hopinforachange on 01/07/2009:

(Healthy Living)
Weight: 198.0

Top photo is the beginning end & bottom photo out in the distance foothills is the turn-around point of my walking path..... The suns is slightly shining and it is beautiful this morning.... Figured I would share some white stuff with those of you who don't have any.... Spokane (300 miles from us) got hit with another dump of it and schools, etc are closed down again... 78" of snow already this winter.... One DDer was visiting there @ Christmas and another lives there!... Ugh....... I feel fortunate! Had my share in 1996.... Anybody ever try cross-country skiing for exercise?..  Like in place of walking... I'm thinking!

Fell asleep on the couch last night and stayed there like a dummy... Was headed to bed @ 10:00 ish and started "surfing"... Found that Diet Tribe was premiering and stayed awake to watch it.... Hubby didn't think it was on Monday, but I did... Afraid he was right, cause I couldn't find it on the guide.. I missed it apparently, cause it WAS on (maybe early & late)... 5 friends fighting the battle and some not so eagar to exercise... Should be a fun one to follow.... Then TODAY had another 2 ladies on this morning that downsized by 1/2 without surgery, etc...... PEOPLE magazine stars you could say.... I never did buy the magazine like I said I was going to...Scanned through it while in the check-out line... Thanks H_O_P!

I was thinking last night that this last week there have been a lot of new members to DD... I expected that to happen @ the New Year time.... My thoughts led to wanting to advise anyone who does not see their physician yearly to do so and seek their advice & approval before beginning any "diet" or lifestyle change.... If you take Rx drugs especially, make sure to ask your pharmacist or doctor before taking over the counter  medications / vitamins / supplements  or loading up on supposed "good/healthy alternative foods, etc". It came to light to me recently that even soy products may not be a thing for me to eat with having hypothyroidism... Thanks to a fellow DDer, now I have done research and have followed recommendations... I will discuss a couple other things with my Dr. in March as well...  DD advice or opinion is just that and should not be used to diagnose or be considered the best choice for one given person... Intentions are well-meant by us all here, but confer with your Dr.  & do your research is the bottom line....

Going to finish putting away the Christmas things today... Try to find my Valentines pretties in the process.... Have 3 boys to babysit today... First day of pre-school for the one boy yesterday was great... Whew! He will go M-W-F..

MENU & ACTIVITIES

Breakfast ~ Oatmeal w/ Banana & Walnuts.... Black Coffee

Snack ~ 1/2 Wh.Wheat Pita with a drizzle of Honey & 4 oz. BB Lite Yogurt

Dinner ~ 1/2 Baked Sweet Potato, 1 c. left-over Stir Fry veggies & 2 sl. Deli Turkey Breast ...Didn't eat all of it...

Snack ~ Orange & 10 Plain Almonds

Oh My Stars!!!!!.... I walked what I think was 4 miles... I will clock it and correct it if I'm wrong......Didn't get an ealry enough start to get in 6 miles today... BUT, my body has muscles I didn't even know exsisted I swear!.....The county came through to grate today, a Chinook wind came in & melt began..... Terrain tonight was mud, ice, slush, mud, ice, slush, etc, etc, etc..... I walked fast in the mud, stomped through the slush & tiny stepped on the ice...Kept my lil' LED flashlight at my side so people would see me.... My glutes, calves, & inner thigh muscles are screaming..... It took 1.5 hours....Slipped a couple times, cause it was black ice, not mud...Whoops! That is when my stomach muscles would tighten...They aren't hollering so much though..... Scarcastically I will say that I think I burned as many calories in those 4 miles as I would of straight walking the 6....Knowing now how it was further up the road, I can honestly say that I would probably not do it again for sheer safety sake of not falling..... Plan is to work on the exercise ball with weights while watching B.L. to make up for the 2 miles not taken. Oh no.... I just added my numbers and I'm at .5 from 900... I will go .5 on the Gazelle...... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... Looks like I made it home just in time..... The wind has become very gusty & we have had a couple power surges... Tis the season for fickel weather......

Post-walk/While waiting for supper to finish cooking Snack ~ I was hungry after the walk.... 1/2 WW Pita w/Honey

Supper ~ Chicken Breast (no dumplings biscotti.... ; o )   Brown Rice, Few Peas  & L.O. Black Beans with a dash of LS Soy Sauce.... Cooked the Chicken in the crock-pot sitting on top of the rest of the families short ribs.... I may have 1 bite of the beef.. It's ours, not store bought... Yum! Didn't eat all of what I dished up.....

Dessert/Snack ~ 2 Skinny Cow Mini Treat (serving is 2)

Ahahaha.... During a commercial, hubby & I went to check the mileage.... It was 4.5 miles!.....Whew!... Been listening to the police/fire scanner and a little town about 5 miles from us is having winds so bad that transformers are blowing and trees are falling/uprooting, roofs coming off garages, etc.......... Not suprised with the sudden warmer weather & melted snow making the ground so soft that mother nature is going to reak havoc....... We need it to freeze again!

Water = No Less than 120 oz. by 10:00 p.m.

x country skiing is the best!!! it's a lot of fun! i grew up doing it and haven't recently (due to my weight of course:(() but my hubby still goes a few times a week (he's very very active:)) and loves it!!! it's a great work out too! ask around and see if you have any x country trails near your home (they can be a GREAT work out, especially when you have to climb hills w/ the skiis on). :) Let me know if you end up trying! I know you can rent skis~so....you could give it a try before buying them, also this years ski models will be going on sale for very cheap soon! (I'm near Spokane too, where did you say you live??) Diet tribe was great!!!! :)) I'm sure they'll have a re run! Hope to hear back from you soon! PS great that you added in how people should see their docs before doing anything 'out of the ordinary'....I'm a nurse and that is something extremely important to keep in mind always!!! good thinkin';)

skinnyjeans on 01/06/2009:
Wow...thanks for the nice, happy thoughts!! I like your winter wonderland photos! :)

greengirl on 01/06/2009:
WOW what a fabulous panorama you must be able to see. Your snow puts our inch or so to shame. It never lasts long here in England, either - usually melts within a couple of days :(

legcramps on 01/06/2009:
You know what's really good exercise in the snow? Snow-shoeing. It's very hard, but extremely enjoyable, almost as good as a walk! You should try it! Have a great day today!

mama_nurse on 01/06/2009:
Very true, thanks for the reminder and encouraging words! I think it's a great and fabulous idea that you use your christmas bonus money on yourself!!!!! you deserve it and i think something that will improve your health is so fantastic!!! :) Beautiful terrain around your home! I love it! We have a lot of snow here too right now, but not sure it's quite that much! WA has just been getting hit with it this winter:) I'm in MT by the way:)

Maria* on 01/06/2009:
Hello to you! Beautiful photos!!!

see_maw on 01/06/2009:
Ok, now I have seen real life snow, LOL - not really but thanks for the pics and encouragement!

loveray on 01/06/2009:
beautiful fotos!! i wish, someday, we could take a walk together. i love you and hope that you had a beautiful day. thanks so much for the encouragement. i needed it!! xoxo

Panda22 on 01/06/2009:
Those pictures are beautiful! Thanks for sharing =). Here we are getting just a light rain and wintry mix....boring stuff, but ok with me as long as ice is not involved o_O. That show does look good but I can't stay up late enough to watch it! lol. I will settle for The Biggest Loser that starts tonight @ 8PM. I like that show even though it's totally unrealistic unless you can "quit your life" and exercise 24/7....but still inspirational and full of good tips. Anyway, your menu looks good! (I had oatmeal this morning too lol) Hope you are having another great day!!

mama_nurse on 01/06/2009:
YES!!! Montana, 2.5 hrs south of Spokane:)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/06/2009:
okay...today's menu is making me jealous. i like what you had although i'd probably binge after having a breakfast as delicious as your's. i still have to stay clear of sweet things at times because they trigger me to binge. for instance, i wanted to have a banana with some yogurt after dinner but knew that i would probably end up eating even more...

those diet/weightloss shows are great. but why do they have to be on so late???

biscottibody59 on 01/06/2009:
Well said up there! I always have to remind myself that I only know one person who used Atkins personally who seems to have embraced it for years. All the examples of people here who lost a ton when it was HOT are gone--no longer posting. A couple came back who lost a ton and gained back 2 tons. Having said that, the diet I was on originally was lower carb--I'd have to go back and figure the carbs to see if it actually would qualify for the latter stages of Atkins or S Beach.

Will you be "havin' chicken and dumplins when she comes?" haha

I'd love to try CC skiing. Also how about sledding? Climbing up the hill, etc.

ps check out www.akers-ski.com for CC stuff--clothes, etc--I get the catalog, though I've never been on CC skis--except the fake NT ones!

grumpy on 01/06/2009:
Good advice. And these pics are so nice. i wish we'd get a little snow too. Xoxo

mama_nurse on 01/06/2009:
your dinner sounds great!!! :)

Jen40 on 01/07/2009:
I love the photos! Yes, I'm still around, lol~ just didn't post for a couple days. Thanks again, for being wonderful you!

(Zero "diet"...Lifestyle change/walking/food log)
Weight: 198.0

This morning is a very ugly one outside18 degrees with a real feel of 8... Last night when we got to church it was snowing hard & it dumped a couple more inches overnight. Of course all the school districts other than ours has a 2 hour bus delay....With hubby on the roads and Ben on a 40 minute bus commute, I will be "edgy" this morning.... It is still dark @ 7:15, so I can't see out there very well... I will feel better when I can see...

Not holding my breath to fit in a walk outside today, as I am back to routine schedule with babysitting and truly not sure I would want to brave the elements today with 2 little boys in the baby jogger.... Suppose to turn to snow/rain and get warmer (38). Making a mess of things ..... I am promising myself to get on the Gazelle and work on the exercise ball with weights at any rate....

It will feel good to be back to a schedule this week... The holidays were a toughy to  have the feeling of consistency, especially with hubby taking vacation this year....  Now, it will be more like a New Year has begun with routine setting in....

Menu & Activities

Breakfast ~ Oatmeal with 1/2 Banana & Walnuts Coffee

Snack ~ 6 Oz. Blue Bunny Lite Yogurt

Took the Christmas tree down & put most holiday decor away, still a bit to tote up......

Dinner ~ Scrambled Egg/Egg White, Tomato, Whole Wheat Flax English Muffin w/ Honey

The baby's mom picked him up early today and Tayt was gone by 4:00.... Waited for Meg to get home... The new bus driver passed our house, so she was 30 minutes late..... Temps were tolerable with a sweatshirt, coat, long-sleeve shirt, scarf & double layer gloves as I hit the 2.5 mile marker in my walk... I looked ahead and could see the turn around point of 3 miles... I could see, taste, smell & feel a 6'er today.... I kept going and made it my first 6 miler in a while.... I am tired as I'll get out & was so close to a "should of worn a Depends" moment by the time I got to our driveway.. Hungry too.... But, I got all the garb off and made it to the bathroom without incident.... Supper is getting done & hubby just walking in the door here @ 6:35 p.m.... I got home a little after 6:00... The moon is shining so bright that the snow made a great glow for me to see... I will sleep good tonight!

Snack ~ (Post-walk) Few LS Wheat Thins

Supper ~ Salmon & Stir-Fry Veggies (Carrots, Cauliflower, Brocolli, Waterchestnuts & Few Plain Almonds tossed in)...Sprouted Grains Toast

Snack/Dessert ~ S.F. F.F. Jell-O Pudding Cup...Diet W.C. Pepsi

Water = No less than 120 oz. by 10:00 p.m.

Mileage since 02/01/08

wiccan on 01/05/2009:
Thank you; I think it's swell that you confirmed that I must not dwell on the numbers on the scale. it's very heartening to hear it from others. I do FEEL a little better and my plan today is to sort out some books that I had stacked in a corner ( I'm a book fanatic ) and then to bravely go into a room that has falen into a storage room and turn it into my exercise room!! I can't hook a T.V. up in there like I thought I HAD TO HAVE but my plan is to get a cd player to play my books on tape and use this area when it's just too yucky to get outside. Have you used any exercise program or heard one recommended? I Ride so I would like to work on getting fit for that but I'm awfully fond of structure and lists and such and need to make a plan (grin)

omahagrl on 01/05/2009:
WOW more snow. I feel for you as I like the first few inches and then I have had enough. This is our week to shine...I say 2 lbs. What say you?

skinnyjeans on 01/05/2009:
Gosh it's cold where you live! You menu, once again, looks very healthy! :)

mama_nurse on 01/05/2009:
Thanks for your tip on the taco salad! I am definitely going to try that SOON!!!! I will let you know how it turns out:)) You have very inspiring words and they mean a lot to me (even though I'm so new to this site, you have been extremely helpful and welcoming--so thanks!)
