Weekend was packed full of activity and ended on a very emotional drain for us as a whole family...... Had a good turn out for the cider pressing party.... Pressed 30 gallons of juice and still had apples left.... Sunday brought a very bitter sweet ending to our attending this church that we were so involved in.... But, it had to be done and we are now in searching for where the Lord would place us, so we may continue to follow in His footsteps...... Changes have came this last 6 months that are not right, according to how God's Word sets His guidelines for Christians and the church body....... We have tried to accept and continue to pray that things would get straightened out (better)...Saturday a couple things were said/done that happened to be the clincher for us... Hubby & I are on the same wave length, so when these things happened all we did was looked at each other and knew what the other was thinking... The kids even mentioned how they wanted to be done.... Planning on trying to go out of town this weekend and get away for the first time in 3 years...... Hubby has to do a little car work, so that will be the deciding factor..... Will look for a church to visit if we do go.

Churches/Christians have a bad rep with some people, but I believe that if one is really a child of God and does what He tells (lays upon their heart) them to, then He will guide in the right direction and show Himself through those people..... There is a difference between saying it and living it.... It is not where one goes to church that makes the Christian or determines their eternity.. It is what that Christian believes & accepts the gift God offers into their heart and lets reflect in their everyday life with all mankind. Which should be God-like in behavior at ALL times, not just Sunday morning....... A little info and maybe a bit better understanding for those of you who remember my past months and instances with my old walking partner... Her hubby (remember he isn't a fan of mine) is the new person in the pulpit and she the church manager..... To be watched every move, every word analyzed & having our intentions mis-conscrewed every time we turn around (totally blown out of context & proportion) either on a personal level or church related is no longer able to be overlooked or ignored..... Always have and always will do things, cause we want to and nothing else behind it.... No ulterior motives are on our agenda... If this were just a family in the church and not holding the positions they do, we would deal better.... To bring a member from within, who is friends with most (Best Friends with the elders of the church) and put them the head of the whole congregation (without their approval or input) is a blueprint for disaster eventually........ Didn't mean to preach, but just needed to get out and off my chest a bit of heavy-heartedness... We are not bitter, just very sad and have some great friends that we will continue to keep in touch with...

Eating was minimal on Saturday in all the activity... Sunday wasn't bad, but wasn't really good either..... Grazed a bit and when we went to church with my parent's in the evening, my stomach let me know hungry (loudly ~ how embarrassing ) for something with substance, not just a bite of whatever..... We went to Subway, but I didn't order the healthiest.... The ramification was waking up with even darker circles under the eyes with bags than I had already from stress and feeling so heavy with yuck all over (finger's, hands, feet & legs ~ UGH).... De-tox today with lots of water, tea, resting a bit and exercising the heck out of the EB & Gazelle this evening.....

All things set aside and looking to a great future.. Here's to new beginnings and looking forward to seeing where we can go from where we are right now....

I'm sorry to hear things have gone wrong for you and that you have to find somewhere else to go to church. What's happened sounds very upsetting and difficult. Although I'm not a church-goer, I do belong to various communities that I'm active in; I would find it heart-wrenching to have to leave a community under such circumstances. Wishing you luck with finding somewhere where there aren't such issues. xx T

hey, i havent been spending much time here, but always thinking of you and was happy to see 198 here today. congrats, dear. i will be back to being more active sometime soon. xoxoxox

omahagrl on 10/27/2008:
I went though the same situation on beliefs within the Catholic religion and walked out many years ago. I have found a Christian church but have not gone for over a year. I am still trying to find my place and cannot go to a church until I accept who I am and be a better person (does that make sense). I know a lot of people who tell me to do the opposite and go to church to find inner peace but for me that has not happened. I am hoping that one day soon I will be ready for that step.

I am also trying to get real serious about losing the weight especially the exercise. This afternoon hubby and i walked about a 1/2 mile and hope to do some more before meeting a friend for dinner. I chose applebees since they have a WW menu.

Have a great day!

skinnyjeans on 10/27/2008:
Yes, cheers to a new beginning! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I enjoy reading your entries! :)

madreof6 on 10/27/2008:
Hang in there, The lord knows what's in your heart.

selina on 10/28/2008:
It's good to know you've taken concrete steps to solve the anguish and heartbreak you and your family were going through. Change is good, I'm sure there will be a new place, a perfect place, for you and your family to worship your beliefs. With you social skills as well as your hard work, you are a wonderful asset for many a community out there. You have you family's support, and that's priceless. Best wishes to you all.

There will be many subways in our path, we'll just have to jump over the hurdles.... and keep going. Do we have any other choice? Happy day to you, thin, you are awesome!

kzirkle on 10/28/2008:
Sorry to hear about the church drama. Hope you have a better Tuesday. Thankfully, each day is a new day.

Very Busy day ahead... I shall be scarce, but will read/comment when I take a break (which I have to)..... Being church hostess, babysitter, church custodian, mother, wife, friend (sometimes enemy ~ haha) and then just participant sometimes all wraps up into one day... This IS that day! I knew all week I had many things to get done, but you know how it is when you just can't do any of it until the last minute. Because things can't be done beforehand..... #1 ~ Getting Ben & Meg off to school, #2 ~ Babysitting, #3 ~ Baking Cakes & Brownies (maybe a cobbler), #4 ~ Baking Bread, #5 ~ Make a Pot of Chili or Taco Soup (haven't decided), #6 ~ Wash apples (unless I hold off til Sat A.M. early) & done as much custodial work as possible before hubby gets home or incorporate his & the kids help in setting up & decorating tables, #7 ~ Get supper on the table @ home, #8 ~ Exercise (may just do EB today), #9 ~ Remember all of the things I forgot in the first place, then scramble to get them done (Me? no never! hu uh! no way! Ha ~ All the time!).... People are helping and bringing foods for a potluck, it is just I always fix extra to make sure that we have enough, in the event there may be visitors.. Plus, have things that just fall under my hostess capacity, which I enjoy doing..

Tomorrow will be a morning of last minute things. Pressing @ 1:00 p.m. followed by a dinner of soups/stews/breads & sweet things.... Mulled hot cider....... And then I can finish my cleaning.... Come home to collapse..... I am looking at resigning this post by the beginning of next year... I have done it for the last 2 years and people are spoiled rotten to the core.... I am one of those independent people, cause I want things to go just right and I am always afraid of relying upon help and then last minute not having it for one reason or another or people forgetting..and make sure to fix the extras...... Want it done??? Do it yourself! Is my motto..... With having a special needs child & baby to babysit now & trying to fit in my custodial job before Saturday's is just too hard... Add the occasional potluck, get-together, etc & I'm wiped out! People are good and understand, but I have hinted at this decision the last couple months to the frown and gasp of disapproval or disappointment..... I just say that it is someone else's turn to volunteer and given a chance to bring their ideas to the table (so to speak), then execute it!

Probably won't make an appearance on Saturday for obvious reasons... I WILL behave with my eating.... So, have a great weekend.. Keep safe & enjoy your healthy lifestyle! I may peak in on Sunday....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *oh no** The boys (baby & 5 yr.old) are here !!!!!!!! 1.5 hours early........ Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : o ( Gotta Run!

MENU & ACTIVITIES

BREAKFAST ~ Scrambled Egg/Egg White, 1 sl. Whole Grain Flax Toast w/ All Fruit & 1 c. Cran-Grape Juice (370) Black Coffee (0)

Bakery is open for buzziness!!!!! 2 pans Fudge Brownies, 2 dozen Pumpkin Muffins (still in the oven), snack ready for the boys and now it's my turn to figure out a snack to keep me going....hmmmmmmm????

SNACK ~ Baby Carrots & Bite of Molasses Cookie & Bite of Pumpkin Muffin (120?) 490

Got 4 dozen Molasses cookies baked at dinner time for the boys..... Mixed up Carrot Cake Batter to put in when the last batch of cookies came out..... Fed the baby & put the boys down for a nap.... Hubby said he should be on time or a bit early this evening.... I forgot, but then remembered that Meg has a Harvest Party (with pizza & nachos) from 6-8 tonight....At least I won't have to fix supper.. YAY!!!!! I may get a chance to go, but won't know til I see when the boys go home......Got Meat on cooking to make Taco Soup & tomorrow a.m. will make a pot of Potato Soup.. Make pan of cornbread & call it good!.... All this cooking just makes me non-hungry....The 3 year old asked me what I was doin'... I told him makin' molasses cookies... Gave him a bite of the dough...I laughed so hard, cause he proceeded to taste and say "MMM MMMM MMMM Jer Jer" and then grabbed my leg, while batting his eyes at me.....As to say I want more! I let the 2 older boys split a pumpkin muffin instead...

DINNER ~ Pumpkin Oatmeal w/ Honey & Skim Moo Juice (245) 735

SNACK ~ Nothin'

Made Artichoke Parmesan Dip for veggies & chips. Ran out of sour cream to make the buffalo wing flavor dip(shopping list)...Got the carrot cake frosted

Boys left way late and I had to get to the pharmacy before they closed... They had mis-filled my thyroid medication earlier this week with the same as another med I take, so got 2 of the same thing, but the bottle said differently.......Did what grocery shopping I needed to get done finished so I can make a veggie tray for "me"...... Headed to the church to wash apples, vacuum, set-up tables and clean what I could...

SUPPER ~ 9:00 p.m. @ church was 2 sl. Pizza with couple pieces Canadian Bacon.... Hubby brought me this, cause I hadn't eaten since 2:00 p.m. and been on the go go go

Got the things finished I had set to accomplish and getting home @ midnight.... Have decided to give my resignation for "hostess" @ the next meeting on November 2nd.... Just can't do it all anymore.... To be home a bit more is what I want and need to feel like I am not "giving" my all to everyone else and leaving my own family on the back burner all the time or dragging them where I go to do these things, just to be able to spend time with them... Just not fair! I am "mom" to other peoples kids 5 days a week. Leaving the other 2 days to fit the whole weeks worth to my own 2....I give my energy to everything else, but my own things that need tended 90% of the time and it is starting to show way too much....Missed Meg's Harvest Party @ school too.... Saturday shall be another busy day, but we will be together as a family.... Is it Monday yet? I sure wish!

DESSERT ~ Nothin'

poohs autumn day Pictures, Images and Photos

Look at that Pooh Bear!!!! Won't let go of the honey and look where it gets him... STUCK!!!! Then his friends are always trying to help him out...... Like it is here on DD..... We are all at one time or another hanging onto something that is hindering us from moving forward. Whether it be physically hanging onto food when upset, angry, depressed, bored, when out with friends or just cause it tastes good. Basically not REALLY hungry...Wanting to cure what ails us with something (food) that is just going to make us feel worse in the end when we settle down. Then we find ourself upset that we didn't grab the strength we have within ourself and resist.....What a vicious cycle... OR whether it be mentally hanging onto things that we simply just cannot change or maybe we can and choose not to.... Either way hindrance usually lies within ourselves... BUT, then we get that pull, push, nudge or swift kick to try and keep us going.... Other's can't do this for us, but they sure can be great motivation to get us to thinking about what it is we are or aren't doing..... DD is that Tigger & Piglet to THIS Pooh (me) .... Not calling anybody a tiger or pig, just that is what Pooh's friends happen to be... hehehehehe...

A whoppin' 25 degrees here in my part of Washington State this morning..... Sun is starting to shine though.... It's Thursday already... Trying to figure where this week has gone... Not feeling good 2 days of the week sure can mess things up... Feeling much better now and ready to tackle a day of housework, babysitting kids and then washing several boxes of apples @ church for the cider pressing on Saturday..... Custodial job still awaits too, but can't do all of it until after Saturday's activities.....

Had an event happen after weigh-in & coffee here yesterday morning that gave me cause to step on those scales this morning and see where I come in at..... Let's just say....... SHAZAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That IS what came out of my mouth too...... Now, lets just hope that I can continue and not go through this again....

"Treat your body as your temple. Your body is the only vehicle you have been given for this ride called LIFE. The better you care for your body by eating a healthy, balanced diet and by implementing a regular exercise routine. By giving your body the rest it requires, the more you will experience increased energy, vitality, joy, and freedom. Honor, love, appreciate and take extra good care of your body... You will be raising your energy and your consciousness."

This saying accompanied the picture and was sure a bonus for me to read today..... Haven't faired too well stepping on the scales... It read 200 this morning.... But, to know that I would be worse off if I weren't making these efforts to make myself healthier and thinner in the process.... I feel not so good now mentally in the fact that it seems regression in #'s has set in, but how much worse would I REALLY feel physically if I gave up?....... Which I WON'T do!!!!! I KNOW how badly I felt before.... Lethargic, bloated, worthlessness, self-concious, depressed, constantly tired & just overall not healthy..... This last 8 months has changed that drastically to the flip side of that coin....... Have to look at it as possibilities in medication / supplement changes or could it be possibly building more muscle???? I am hoping for the latter of those 2 thoughts..... That would mean that I will see a drop in what I would like to be the super near future....... Just bare with me, as I surely am having to bare with myself during this hump day disappointment...... Not angry or mad, just disappointed a bit......

MENU & ACTIVITIES

BREAKFAST ~ Banana & Whole Grain Flax English Muffin w/ 1 tsp. All Fruit... Coffee w/ c. Skim Moo Juice..(285)

SNACK ~ Apple & Baby Carrots (120) 405

Have been doing some calculating and according to my math I should be consuming 2170 calories to maintain this weight... So, if I come in at about 1600-1670 (reducing by 500) per day, I should see a reduction in numbers right? As long as I continue to workout and walk like I have been.... When I count, I usually come in at about 1400-1500 per day.... Now, if I up the calories and this backfires, someone will tell me that I need to cut back.... What to do??? What to do??? What to do??? I HATE NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!! Even though I am a OCD counter with everything from slicing, to taking stairs, to how many apples I pick and put in each box, etc....... I guess calories to count is not pleasurable, cause I can't count EACH calorie out loud starting with 1-whatever.... Who knows! Experimenting is a must I guess..

Cran-Grape Juice with Peach Sparkling Water (0 everything) drank between breakfast & snack (150) 555

DINNER ~ Oatmeal, c. Pumpkin, Ground Flax, Honey & Splash of Skim Moo Juice....(360) 915

Did some laundry, tidying of the kitchen and living room, fixed the boys dinner and got them down for naps..... Set-up the Gazelle and went 2 miles.... Did the EB regime.... About 2/3 way done, one of the boys had woke up and I happened to be doing the head/hand stand thingy.... He looked at me and said "WHAT are you doing Jer Jer?" and "why is you's face so red?".... I told him I was o.k. and it was called exercise.... He got on the gazelle and waited til I was done... By that time the other boy was up.... I had them give me a "five" each time I did a back bend... They tried to look at me as I was upside down to them... It was fun to have them get so tickled....

SNACK ~ Mini Bag Popcorn (100) 1015

Boys all went home, I started supper and folded clothing for a bit... Got back on the Gazelle for the last 2 miles... Had Ben finish up fixing their supper.. Getting pretty good at the cooking thing.. He is taking a great class in teen survival (to me home-ech) and making straight A's....Now, off to clean up and eat, then head to church for studies....

SUPPER ~ Chicken Breast, Brown Rice, Peas & Corn with sprinkle of Parmesan (450) 1465

DESSERT ~ 3/4 c. Khashi Cinna*Raisin Crunch & 3/4 c. Skim Moo Juice (195) 1660

H2O consumption = No less than 120 oz...

Walked since 02/01/08 = 847.0 miles

Bless you in every way possible. I also saw a higher weight - and it kills me but let's keep fighting the fat war!! We're on the team that's gonna score! I hope your day gets better!

WI3 on 10/22/2008:
Go online and research your meds, some of them could be causing water retention.

WI3 on 10/22/2008:
I must have missed where you started taking the Wellbutrin XL. You may have read in my diary that I take Wellbutrin as well. But it is the SR not the XL. And it is always about a month or month and a half into my wellbutrin process that I start feeling weepy, exhausted, and generally confused and yet wired at the same time. And then I know everything is starting to regulate in my body and it is getting ready to even out. And sure enough, a couple weeks later I am fine and then I really start to feel good. Not just from the initial rush of seretonin that the wellbutrin unlocks within the first few weeks, but overall feeling good. Even, steady..calm and able to be logical. I also have to take the calcium tabs but I take the kind with the D in them already..and I take magnesium to prevent constipation. However, I still have issues with that from time to time. And I still have issues with water retention from my wellbutrin. Especially if I take advil, motrin or some other ibuprofen type drug with it. I know you list your foods but don't know if you count the calories to make sure you are getting enough or too much? As our weight drops, we also have to drop the cals. So what may have worked for you up until this point may just need to be adjusted down a little while adjusting up the exercise. Anyway, hang in there!

skinnyjeans on 10/22/2008:
Thanks for the comments! I'm eating plenty of lean proteins and fresh fruits and veggies, too...trying to eat "normal" food, but in small quantities. Have a wonderful day!!! :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/22/2008:
change up your calories and i would include two higher calories days each week just to shake things up and keep your metabolism and body busy!

selina on 10/22/2008:
Hi Thin! Sounds like you've got great suggestions up there from the other DDers... I agree with you that counting calories is not easy, but it seems like it's essential to knowing exactly how much you can eat to lose weight. In my case, I seem to be counting and overeating... that doesn't work, either, huh. Well, I think you'll do just fine and I shall be watching you dropping those pounds in the weeks to come. Hang in there, you are doing great!

kzirkle on 10/23/2008:

Beautiful sunny morning... About 28 degrees, but still beautiful from sitting inside my toasty warm living room..... Back to a somewhat normal schedule for today.... All boys are to be here and I have plenty to keep me busy..... I'm not feeling too perky and haven't since last night.... Have a nagging H/A and nausea to accompany it..... Haven't taken any of the new meds yet, so it isn't that... Didn't do any formal exercise either.... BooHoo!.... Plan is to get to do as much as I can this morning housewise, then rest about 15-20 minutes when the boys take their nap and that will free me up to do some EB or Gazelle for 30-45 minutes... I won't do both.... I'll save some to do while watching BL tonight... I feel guilty when I do watch that show and I am sitting, while they are up and at 'em.....

When I talked with the Dr. yesterday. Explained my decision on not taking the Crestor for now and what I was doing to combat the problem... Told her I would get tested again in February to see where I stand after more weight has come off and the food changes/supplement additions.... She told me that she understood and that she wished that most of her patients would get serious and not rely on Rx drugs to correct things that they could on their own most likely & make the lifestyle changes. Not just try to convince her that they were. Which I have been guilty of doing myself this past 10-11 years, certainly not fooling anybody else but myself of course ~ DUH!..... She told me that she believed me, cause I was looking much better than last year and that I had a glow about me that just told her healthy..Supposedly, once the Vitamin D kicks in I will even feel better..... Lab tests again in February and hopefully I won't have to go back for any other reasons before then.. I DO NOT like Dr. offices!

I was excited to see hubby coming with the treadmill last night... He got it in and set-up.... Guess what???? Realized we needed a key/card to make it turn on.... Called the neighbor and she isn't sure where the thing is, so now the unit is tucked behind a recliner in my living room...... May have to go help her look for it one of these days soon.... My living room is beginning to look like a gym... Gazelle folded and slid between my piano and a cabinet.... Exercise Ball rolling free (good thing for the little ones to play with too), weights laying on the piano bench and now the treadmill behind my recliner.... Oh, and yesterday while @ goodwill I found one of those wonder body exerciser contraptions from the 70's/80's..It is the attach to the doornob, 4 looped grips (2 for hands & 2 for feet) & rope with pully's to raise the legs when ya pull.... I remember my mom having one and us kids having a blast. Thought it would be worth the $1 (still in the box) to try for Meg & Ben... They are getting into challenging me & each other as to what we all can do on these "toys"...

You are so wonderful, Thin! The glow that says healthy! I am very happy for you! I read somewhere that "we are what we eat" - So true! Keep it up and thank you so much for the very supportive comments in my diary. When you are done with this weightloss journey, you could write a motivational book... Have a great day!

trishpiglet3 on 10/21/2008:
Your diary is inspirational both in content and appearance :)

glycrina on 10/21/2008:
re: thanks for noticing. I definitely think talking to someone and some therapy is helping. We haven't even talked about weight yet. But overall, I am feeling better -- exercise does make a difference.

Maria7 on 10/21/2008:
28 degrees sounds real cold! Thanks for your comment yesterday! Big smile to you!

WI3 on 10/21/2008:
Go to TreadmillDoctor.com and you can order any and all accessories for your treadmill. That's where I got my belt and end cap thing from. It was well worth it. I agree with your doctor, too many of us rely on pills when we just need to dedicate more time to ourselves and getting healthy. Take care!

Maria7 on 10/21/2008:
Your baked apple cooked in micro with honey drizzled and almonds sounds outstanding!

kzirkle on 10/22/2008:
Yeah it figures that I say "I should work out more" and then I end up having a really active day, lol. Raking and sweeping is not typically labeled "exercise" but MAN it kicked my butt! haha Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

omahagrl on 10/22/2008:
OK 28 is darn tootin cold! I have been reading your entries and love the fact that your doctor noticed the changes. The whole Rx thing I agree with you. In fact with my asthma I have started drinking honey with hot water and without having to use my puffer I can feel a difference in my lung power. Also I hope you know how much you motivate all of us as my exercise is starting again and I read your entries daily to see what can be done if I just commit to it. Have a wonderful day!

Have a Dr. appointment @ 10 this morning. Then have to go take care of the traffic violation from the 6th @ municipal courthouse... I took the day off from watching the 2 brothers, but Tayt will be with me..... He is easy to take places.... Won't be eating breakfast, cause I think I am suppose to have lab work done... That was if I was taking the cholesterol medication though.... I am planning on requesting not being tested again til January. With going off the diuretic, taking a couple supplements and changing a few foods, it may take a bit more than a month to see a difference.... She may want to today just to see where I may be.. Who knows???? Appointment was mainly to check how I am doing on the new meds for the mood swings, etc.... The other is secondary.....

Scales aren't budging.... I know almost 100% for sure (I think) the reason and will discuss my options with the doc for making my system work more regular than it has this last 2-3 weeks since starting the calcium supplements...Added magnesium (like recommended), more water & exercise, which are suppose to help, but they aren't... Not fun!

Weather here is dreary and looks like rain may fall.... Good day to make soup, but I'm not going to be here to tend to it if I made any..... Going to WalMart & a couple other places, so may find something to fix a quick soup after I get home.... Full day and the clock is ticking fast already..... Have a wonderful healthy day!

MENU & ACTIVITIES

BREAKFAST ~ Nothin'

SNACK ~ Khashi Honey Flax Bar

Finally ate @ 11:15, after I was told I wasn't going to have blood tests after all, because they didn't even have a technician for today.... BROTHERS!!!!!!!! So, why did they tell me to fast???? My head was pounding from blood sugar whacked out and thus my B.P. was 140/100.....Ate the bar and then sat for a bit before the doc came in the room... She took my B.P. and it was coming down... She couldn't figure it out, but I told her that I DO get horrible H/A, flushed, nauseated & high b.p. when I haven't eaten for that many hours... I proved my point by eating that bar & letting her see that I would feel better.... BTW, the H/A left before I even left the office too....After we left the office, went to WalMart... FINALLY found some already shelled edamame.... Starting to stock up on dry beans, rice & other non-perishable foods a little at a time in case the economy gets much worse... Things I bought today were so much higher than they were just 3 weeks ago already... I have a feeling this is going to be a long winter...

DINNER ~ 1/4 Cheeseburger, Fries & Soda.... Cut the burger in 1/4's to share at least 1/2 with my kids when they got home from school.. Planned on eating 1/2, but couldn't eat any more than that 1/4...

SNACK ~ Folklore SF Coffee Soda

After Tayt went home, I realized I had forgotten to go one place that I NEEDED to today.. I was running late and totally forgot.... Headed back to town and got 5 gallon ice cream tubs for cider pressing this Saturday.....Dropped Rx's off to be filled & stopped by the Goodwill to pass time.....Bought a BIG beautiful Bible from 1951, a book & CD for Ben...... As I was shopping....guess what????? The hamburger/fries hit me.... Calcium trouble nixed for today at least.... My system is totally hating me right now......I made it home at least... Whew! Doc said that the trouble appears to be that my Vitamin D deficiency is hindering the calcium absorption... She prescribed a high potency Vit. D for me to take twice weekly in between the OTC strength...She will test me again in 3 months.... Keeping my fingers crossed this all works and my system can get evened out to NORMAL (whatever that is, I've actually NEVER been normal~ DUHHHHHH!!).....Off to fix something for supper and get jammies on... Oh, hubby just got home....He went and got the treadmill...YAY!!!!!

Yesterday was a good day... Wasn't home til 10:00 p.m., but thats o.k..... When we visit my parent's it always gets to be late... Their house is like second home... We did set out to come home about 6 p.m., then they said we were going to order pizza..... The kid's eyes lit up and then went puppy dog begging. Called it in to the take & bake....... I ordered a DeLite... Very little garlic sauce, skiff of chicken, tomatoes & just enough cheese to taste on cracker thin crust..... It was good and the guilt was almost @ 0%.... Had eaten the oatmeal for breakfast & carrots with hummus for snack/dinner.... Didn't fair out to well with whatever I did though while visiting... Got on mom's treadmill for about 15 minutes and ready to go some more. POOF.... ZZZZZ.... SPARK...SHEWEE! The thing blew at the cord... Here came the pizza... 3 pizzas wouldn't fit whole in the oven... I cut the De Lite in 1/2's and made them all fit.. About 5 minutes later the kitchen filled with smoke and the alarms were sounding.... UGH!! The pizza's toppings were sliding off as they cooked.... Never do that again!

O.K. So I see that there are some having struggles and down-n-outs..... I want you to go get one of your VERY FAVORITE sweaters and cut a piece of the thread/yarn, then grab it and pull... WHAT?????? Yep!...Actually finish reading this first, before you decide to do it...But, I have thought about this a lot this last couple weeks and had to start thinking about all the hard work this takes to make something that will be more beautiful than ever and something that I would never want to unravel, cause of all the long hours, effort and diligence it took to make this happen.... I am making me how I am suppose to REALLY be and look like under all of these layers of fat (or Jell-O, I call it)..Really can't wait to see a new person... A little side bar here.. I was looking in the mirror last night and noticed that my butte dimples are gone and I actually have buns! Sorry bout that, but it has been well over 10 years since I actually had a "shape" there...It excited me to see this change for sure.... O.K., now back to where I was going with this... Just as you would NEVER intentionally unravel that sweater, don't unravel what you have done thus far in your journey.... Stand still or take a rest, but always know that you ARE worth the time, effort, gumption and whatever else have you to make this work and be a success...... Make it a speed bump, not a DEAD END... I WANT YOU to succeed just as bad if not worse than I want to myself.... Believe that, it's true!

MENU & ACTIVITIES

BREAKFAST ~ Scrambled Egg/Egg White, Whole Wheat Flax LS English Muffin & Coffee

SNACK ~ Nothin'

DINNER ~ Apple & Banana

Went to church, came home for a bite to eat. Then kid's and I headed up to the church house with a load of apples. Was backing into the doorway and hit the water pipe (couldn't see for the boxes of apples in my rearview).... Uh Oh!!!!!!! Between yesterday's mishaps, this had to happen??????... Went into the building and shut off the breaker, unloaded the apples and then dug until I reached the breaking point in the pipe... The maintenance guy told me he would fix it tomorrow or Tuesday...Figured I could at least do the digging.... Back home now and want to take a nap so badly..I am shaky, due to the adrenaline rush and relief at the same time that it wasn't bad enough to cause any flooding..... Hubby got called to work before church time..... Let's just hope and pray that the bad luck only comes in 3's for me this time..... Shall see!

SNACK ~ Apple (straight from the tree while walking) Carrots & Hummus (post walk)

Went on a 6 mile walk.... Got home and hubby was here getting ready to build us a fire.... Suppose to get pretty chilly tonight... Had a great compliment made to me as I was walking...About my 1.5 mile marker, there was a lady sitting on her porch who I never had seen before... She hollered at me "So, how many miles ya goin' today?"... I told her 6... She said that she had been watching me all these months and when her husband would ask her to look at something else, she would tell him he had to wait til I was out of her sight.... She then said "good for you & keep it up"....She also told me to watch out for winter months.. I insured her that I had back-up calorie burners..... Off to fix supper and get some more comfy clothing on....

SUPPER ~ Turkey Breast Burger, 2 sl. Whole Wheat Bread, Mustard, Ketchup, Pickles, Lettuce & Thin slice Mozarella.....

DESSERT ~ Pumpkin, lil Brown Sugar & Ground Flax (microwaved) with a splash of Skim Milk.....

2 miles on the Gazelle...EB 30 push-ups, touching nose to the floor....100 sitting jumping jacks, 30 sit-ups, 30 sit-ups holding 5# weights, 30 (10 X 3 with 20 squats between) head/hand stands trying to make my legs go straight towards the ceiling and then 30 knee push-ups (10 X 3)......Taking a shower, then Night Night!

No exercise upon waking this morning... Slept in a bit, with anticipation of doing my custodial job this morning.... Boys seem to be in much better moods than yesterday too, so that makes me happy!.....

With the last 3-4 days of weight training(if I can call it that) and utilizing the exercise ball.. I actually think I can already tell a difference in the stomach muscles... Feeling a bit tighter... Is that possible??? Or is it just the fact that I know I have been doing these things and am wishful thinking??? .. A bit sore, but each day that gets better...... Got the kids to try a few of the things that I have been doing... Let me tell you that seeing my 6 foot 1, 15 year old son balance on his head and stick his legs straight up in the air as the hands are under the ball (using it as leverage basically) was hilarious! He couldn't do it..... I do it 3 sets of 10, with squats between the 10's..... Meg isn't long enough to head stand, but she sure has been giving the ball a bounce too.... The sitting jumping jacks is both our's favorite.... May have to get another ball to keep on hand.. Bought the one I have at Goodwill (still in the box) for $3.... I see they now have a small version in commercials.. Of course I was just thinking yesterday that it would be great to have a kid's line in smaller size.... The one I saw was too small though... Don't think I would like it as well.....

Creativity this week in regime has been so much fun... I had almost forgotten HOW much fun it could be. In making the changes this week...It was just a realization that the walking was not going to be a possibility near as much as it had been in recent months.... Finding that I don't have to be perfect at what it is I do or have a name for the manouvers... Just that no matter what it is, it does burn calories, strengthen muscles I probably never knew I had, give the old pumper a good raise in beating rate & cause a bit of sweat to fall...... Now, to figure out how to get the calcium the doc put me on to stop reaking havoc on my system.... Always something to figure out isn't there?!?!?!

MENU & ACTIVITIES

BREAKFAST ~ Nature's Path Cereal, Skim Milk, Glass of Concord Juice & Coffee

Boys and I went to clean the church.... Did 3 hours...Came home to fix their dinner, laid them down to watch a short movie and hopefully they fall asleep for a bit...... Im'hungry (2 p.m.) and need to fix my dinner now

SNACK ~ 1/2 Can Diet Pepsi (Yuck!... needed Wild Cherry!)... Was at church and thirsty for something other than water...Backfired!

DINNER ~ Hard Boiled Egg White, Baby Carrots, Cucumber (baby english) & Hummus..... Apple

SNACK ~ Nothin'

2 boys' went home... I took one home... Plans were to go errand running and visiting in order to allow me to stay home Saturday.... Didn't work!.... Dad & mom weren't going to be home tonight, then mom (me) had a minor melt-down about unthankfulness and not being happy with what we are blessed with.... UGH!!!! I hate that!... Wanting what is the next best thing or suppose to be... Trying to teach the kids (mainly Ben right now) that money DOES NOT grow on trees.... Especially these days..... "but gas IS coming down in price" was the defense.... Ha Ha! He relented and agreed that TODAY isn't the greatest time to buy a XBOX360... Especially when HE had not long ago spent his hard earned money on a PS2......I was a kid once and understand, but also know that if my parent's said "no" that was the last of asking.... I'm ALMOST like that, but am a bit softer... I had books & 1 barbie when I was a kid....

SUPPER ~ Few Tortilla Chips w/ WW Grated Cheese (doesn't melt very well ~ **boo*hiss**) & 1/4 c. Black Beans.. Little Salsa

DESSERT ~ 1 Flour Tortilla heated and rolled with 1 tsp. jam...

Put in Rocky & Bullwinkle movie for us to watch as a family....I did stay in the room, but really wasn't all that interested.. Couldn't stand to watch it on Saturday mornings as a kid even...So, I pulled out the exercise ball (EB) and did 30 head/hand stands using the ball as leverage, 30 sit-ups holding 5 # weights, 30 push-ups touching nose to the floor, 60 squats & 100 sitting jumping jacks.... Set-up the Gazelle and went 4 miles in 67 minutes... Alternated a jogging style with arms bent and not holding onto the bars, holding the bars going slower, then faster, then back to fast jogging, then light jogging... Feet don't come off the machine like walking... It is more like cross-country skiing....Knees don't get bent, unless you want to risk falling (or at least for me).... Now, off to beddy bye and I'm sleepin' in tomorrow if my body will let me...

Walked since 02/01/08 = 831.0 miles

I think it is so great the amount of exercise you do. That is one thing I really need to work on!

anewhb on 10/18/2008:
Hey there. Long time I've been gone, I know. Regarding the exercise ball - YES it is possible to feel tighter after only ONE use. I love that thing. It works so well because of the instability when you sit on it and your muscles have to work just a little harder to keep you stable WHILE you do the reps. I love it. Now, if I would only actually get on mine!! LOL!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/18/2008:
it was a gallon sized jug of juice and it was advertised as no sugar added, made with splenda. i'm nervous that this might mean that there is a lot of calories from the natural juices. the ingredients listed some kind of artificial sugar and the first ingredient i think. i emailed the company! hopefully they'll get back to me.

have a great day!

You're awesome! Working out with all your aches, active in the yard with the boys and decorating (those apples look yummy!) Having the photos is like having a 'cyber neighbor' I can enjoy your festivities! Thanks for checking in - I am pondering your suggestion to go walking with hubby - I was against it at first, but now, well, you've got me 'thinking' :)
