Sunday was a good day..... Went to church, grocery shopping for a few items to get us to payday & walked 6 miles in the late evening... Walk was not with family, but not alone either.... I will be either walking with family or by myself from here on out.... Nuff said!....

Today I have been having major troubles keeping the computer online.. Something going on with the phone lines, so I will read/comment/update when I can stay online long enough to do so....My new cell phone already arrived this morning (ordered Saturday) and got it on the charger..... I am off to get snack, put in a load of laundry, get to sorting & packing boxes FULL of stuff to sell.... Weather is to be in the upper 90's most of the week. The kids are outside playing while it is still cool..... Made them a little crushed ice in the blender with some raspberry flavored S.F. syrup to chomp on. Made myself a little crushed ice with coffee, skim milk & the same raspberry syrup.....It's o.k....Just makes me want a granita from the espresso stand....

your breakfast sounds delicioussss !! hope you get a chance to stay online long enough! tell your kids to enjoy the outside now because now its soooo hot. i dont think i even want to stand outside.

loveray on 07/21/2008:
whatever that drink is looks amazing! hope you are well and that you do plan a respite with your hubby soon. so restorative. xoxo

grumpy on 07/21/2008:
hey dear, hope your phone lines were cooperating! i noticed you're now counting calories, how is that working for you? i think it's good, but you were doing fine without it too, so we'll see. but kudos for trying something new. i am not happy with my weight just yet, but i am okay with it, to be honest. i just really need to find strength to go an extra mile and start losing again. hopefully soon! xo

grumpy on 07/21/2008:
That's good money! I hope it goes well this year too. and that's so great that your old clothes don't fit you anymore. I got rid of most my pants, but I also had some that were too tight on me before or wouldnt even fit and now i wear those. and i also have 2 skinny jeans that dont fit at all and should fit when i lose another 8 pounds, I think. I think it's cool for you to count calories and learn more about your habits. if it works for you, you keep it and if it doesnt, you let go. xoxo

Hi Thin! That cod dish sounds fabulous! Did you use the dry cod or the fresh one? I love cod!

Thanks for the help and encouragement in my diary. It's really appreciated!

Saturday was a good day..... Besides the happenings I posted yesterday.... I did the custodial job...My family went to help out, so we could get done quicker....All went well, until the last 15 minutes....I was at the last doorway with the mop bucket full of Pinesol water and as I pulled the squeezer handle to go over the threshold, the bucket caught on the edge of the door and wouldn't ya know it.......It dumped, not onto the tile flooring, but onto the carpet area..The WHOLE BUCKET FULL!!!... So, we were there another hour almost with me just sucking it all up with the steam cleaner....The vacuum finally gave up the ghost, so I have to go look for a new one this coming week..Thank goodness I had a purchase for a new one approved already.....So, we didn't go to the grocery store, cause the kids didn't want to miss our late night walk...Planned on homemeade egg rolls for supper, but it was already 7:45 and I needed a couple things from the store to make them......We were all bummbed, cause we had been talking about supper most of the time we were cleaning... Came home to make pork sandwiches instead. The roast was in the oven waiting for us to eat it one way or the other.....I added some ketchup, mustard, honey, garlic, onion powder & a little worsteshire sauce and tore the roast apart, then we put it on an onion bun....... Drank some iced tea and headed out the door...Got some pictures of a couple bullfrogs Ben caught and on the way home, the moon was coming up and bright orange from some smoke in the air...By the time we got home it was white and so BIG.... We walked for a little over 3 miles...

I am sitting here with wet hair, robe & 1/2 my make-up on....Oatmeal is in the microwave and I have a whole 20 minutes to get out the door for church.......With that....I will be back later today to read/comment and hope you ALL have a wonderful Sunday!...AHHHHHHHHH hubby just shut the doors and turned on the air conditioner...It is suppose to be 95 today.....

Just got home from church, eating a Tuna Sandwich on Whole Wheat Toast with a few Buffalo Ranch Doritos & Sliced Pickle...Going to head to the store in a few minutes. I am out of apples, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, Lite Ranch dressing, bean sprouts (egg roll must have), Olive oil, grapes, melons, eggs, milk, bananas, etc.. Not much left other than peanut butter & saltines as a healthy choice....Going on a 6 mile walk about 6:30 or 7:00 with someone I haven't been walking with too much lately....Caught me going out the church house door and asked, so I will go....Hubby & Kids won't mind a rest I guess....

MUCH LOVE,HAPPINESS & SUCCESS TO YOU!

Progress as of today: 31 lbs lost so far, only 51 lbs to go!

95! It's really hot here too. I went to the pool with 30 SPF sunblock on. And that's because I am pretty tan. Enjoy the rest of your hot day, xoxo.

peaceelovee on 07/20/2008:
Its soooo hot out! i cants stand it...but inside my house is nice and cool. Sorry your bucket spilled over and you missed your egg rolls! Theres always next time though! Congrats on the three mile walk also =)

(Healthy Eating/Food Logging/Walking since 2/1)
Weight: 206.0

Friday was a good day... Besides what I mentioned getting done yesterday in the entry as the day progressed... The end of the day I think was the best of all... Even though supper was late and we were tired.....we (hubby & I ) had told ourselves we were going to go for a walk....I was suppose to call another person if I was going to walk, but have been enjoying the walks with hubby a bit more and figured it was too late for them anyways.....We decided to take the kids too, so we could show them the 2 ponds we discovered the beginning of this week at the end of our road.......Ben slimed his bike tires, before we left....(remember they went flat last time he went with us)..... It was going on 8:30 and when we got to the ponds it was getting dusk. Low and behold we hear this loud sound coming from the water.... We stopped and finally discovered the source..... It was a huge bullfrog!..... Got to looking and the pond is full of them...... Ben & Meg were so elated!!!!... I haven't seen Ben so excited to discover something like that in a long time..... He got down to the water edge and every step he took right ahead of him was a splash..It was the frogs on the shore jumping in the water.... He did that almost completely around the whole pond... It was funny to watch/hear.... Meg was with daddy on the other side doing the same thing, but she is younger and more easily entertained than her 14 year old brother is these days..... Then, when we started walking again (still had a couple miles to go) Ben found an almost perfectly round rock the size of a softball and wanted to bring it home.... Paul carried it for him... He also had brought the tire pump with him in case this time.. So rock in one hand, tire pump in the other and I had a jug of water in each hand myself, we finished walking the loop to hit the road out of the orchard... Next thing I know, we are kicking that round ball down the dirt (little mixed gravel in it) road all the way home...... Meg is showing us how she can coast all the way home and saying watch mommy & daddy..no hands, with her feet swaying out to the side as well......She had previously that afternoon whacked her head in our hall doorway and given herself a whopper of a bruise above and on her eye.... Wasn't sure she was going to be up for much last night, but she recouped pretty well... Anyways, why I say this was the best part is because as I was watching my teenage son be so excited with such things, it brought to mind how things used to be so much simpler and kids his age were entertained by just the things he was doing, cause there was no bigger/better things than walking the countryside & making your own fun.... Chasing frogs into a pond, kicking a rock down a dirt road... I felt a little Andy Griffith Show style last night and that just joys my heart to see that kids yes, can still be like they used to be in this busy world of PS2 (he has one of those too) T.V, drugs, alcohol, parties........and not feeling there is nothing better than looking for mischief, instead of just being their age (still kids)....Ben has his guitars, video games, skateboard, etc don't get me wrong, he has way more and does more things than I ever did..I still played with Barbie Dolls @ 14.......But, to see some little boy still in him.....Paul mentioned that he felt like he was back in time, cause what we were doing last night was what he did @ Ben's age....AND it was out here where we live... He has come full circle and back in the area where he was raised. He can tell the kids what hills he climbed/traveled (with a B.B.or Shotgun in tow to say the least), what ponds he fished and how walking the countryside used to be the big thing for something to do. The KEEP OUT and "No Tresspassing" signs weren't plastered everywhere.......Some may know how I feel and understand. Unless you have or have had a teenager and able to still see the little kid in them at times, you just can't imagine the thrill that was......BTW...they can still throw fits like a little kid at times too.. No surprises there!

I am off to finish hanging clothes and doing bed linen laundry.... I got up about 8:30 and started right in on the bedroom cleaning/sorting/boxing....That wasn't what I was suppose to be doing...I realized I best get to posting my entry, so I can go finish what I started and head out to do my 4.5 hours of custodial work...Come home for some dinner and probably should go to the store... I am out of lettuce, tomatoes (few on the vine almost ripe), milk, bananas, apples, eggs and who knows what else....I am planning on taking a 6 mile walk late evening. Not sure if it will be alone or with somebody... Shall see when the time comes.....

Getting ready to head to do the custodial job...Wound up on the phone/computer for a looooooooooong time trying to square away getting a new cell phone... I dropped mine in the toilet (clean water) a couple months ago and it dried out in a week to work like new....3 weeks ago, I dropped it in a glass of Diet W.C. Pepsi (had the phone straddled over the top of the glass, trying to carry too much at one time I guess, cause the other hand was full too)...dried out in a day and worked perfectly fine.....THEN, last Sunday it fell out of the holder clipped onto my purse onto a concrete floor @ the Cash-n-Carry store and it pretty much was pronounced DEAD at that point.....I am not due for an upgrade til September, so I just spent my grocery/gas money ($60)...Got the kind of phone they give you when they offer you a "free phone" with a new contract... Been scrambling around to combine funds from a little here and a little there so I can head out for a few staple groceries til payday next Thursday... A little anxiety attack going on, but keeping it fairly a calm one this time...Chest is a little tight and heart beat a little rapid, but not panicking........ Made my list and have to "STICK WITH IT",cause I don't want to have to "DIG" into our reserves for more important things if they arise...I would not of spent the money on the phone, except for I need it for when I am walking and when any of us is online, my cell phone is the back-up contact.....I have been a week without it already and this will be here in 2 days... My parent's/g'ma/Aunt/brother/Tayt's mom/Hubby have ALL tried calling and I have heard the disspointment in voices when I didn't realize thay had been trying to get ahold of me. Plus be my luck out walking, I would need "help" for some reason...What did we ever do without this great technology??????

Wow...sounds like you are doing so great. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

maria777 on 07/19/2008:
What a wonderful family you and your family are. Sounds like y'all had a real good time together last nite...yes, I can remember times similar to that when families took time to connect, neighbors 'took the time' to visit each other, sometimes from front porch to front porch...cause lots of times families would be sitting outside on their porches, laughing and talking together...Folks made their own entertainment instead of relying on the technologies of today to keep them entertained (yes, includes computers, hehehe!!!)... I am just so happy to hear that you and your family had one of those very memorable, special, happy times together on your walk/outing last nite! I am also very happy and thankful to the Lord for His many, many blessings on us, including the conveniences and good technologies we have available today. Big smile to you!

Hi Thin! Sounds like you have a wonderful family and your days are filled with busy and fun activities. I hope you are having a great weekend!

Thanks for the tip on the sodium in the food - that might be part of the cause I'm not going anywhere on this diet. Will look into it.

Thursday was a good day.... Got lots accomplished, but the walk just didn't get fit in.... That's o.k., cause I hardly sat down all day......

I am getting ready to fix my hair & tidy up the living room before kids arrive... I have read/commented on the diaries that were here as of my posting and will be back later (don't know when) to read/comment on the rest... Have a terrific day!

Afternoon is going good...Able to get some more cleaning, sorting & pricing done while baby sleeps...Hubby is helping by doing dishes & whatever I may need him to help moving around....My house may be ALL priced by the time the Yard Sale is here (8th & 9th of Aug.)I have been able to box up things that have just collected dust and have real no prupose, but to collect that dust... I am boxing up things that I don't want to sell and know are collectable items (depression glass, quilts (cedar chested), stuff like that) to maybe bring out years from now and have a room to showcase them. Kid's room transformation time- uh....Ya, about 15 years at the most from now if the Good Lord doesn't come back before then I'll do that...Ben said just a bit ago..." Mom, it actually is really starting to look nice around here"...It shall be more enjoyable when it is ALL DONE and to clean house won't take 2-3 days..Hopefully just about 4-6 hours of a day (I hope with a chore list)...I have had a house of "posessions" just because they were antiques or I knew they were worth something just for the sake of saying I had "one of those" and "got it for a steal" . I have decided to turn loose of some to pass onto those who may enjoy/appreciate them more.....I won't sell those things which I really do like and do collect for their value as a bonus.....

Snack : )

Few Almonds and Big Flaked Coconut

Boy's left at supper time and I was hungry while fixing supper... So......I had a piece of whole wheat bread with Apricot All-Fruit Spread

Snack/Dessert : )

NOTHIN'

Walked a little over 3 miles with the whole family....Story to follow tomorrow's posting... I may sleep in Saturday ( a little).... I got lots done today (still more to do + custodial job of 4.5 hours Saturday)...Was actually easier to do things today I think with the extra little bodies, cause the more kids, the less entertaining I have to do.. Ha Ha..Me entertain!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! All I have to do is sneeze and quickly cross my legs to make kids laugh sometimes..... I must look funny!

Oh Jerri, I am having a hard time. ewww. i did go out with the girls for a little bit, they were having beer but i just had a soda water with lime (my fake zero cal drink hahaha). so i behaved. but today was already maintenence levels for me. boo. i really need to get my behind in gear... ahhhhhh. dont eat! go to bed. :)

grumpy on 07/18/2008:
Just saw your looong comment. Thanks Jerri. Actually I don't feel bad and I ate more before going out and not after. It's okay for me to go out with my friends and just have soda water. I don't mind at all. I get my water in and to me it feels i am having a drink as i never drink club soda elsewhere but in bars. ahaha. And I don't even think I was consciously eating because i feel unworthy or anything like that. its just that i am so used to do it when I am bored, that i just did it before i could think or realize what i was doing. It's a long process and I am happy to be learning from it. I have to be strong and put a little more effort now, so i start losing some of the weight that is 'left' or start seeing progress in my new diary. :) love ya, hope you feel better about the whole thing with your friend. and it's great that you have your family around to walk and support you. love again. xoxo

grumpy on 07/18/2008:
no, i ate them at home, alone. not because i would be embarassed of doing it in front of people (i have before, but not anymore as i take better care of myself health-wise than most my friends), but it's just because i was home alone and bored. was i out with people, i wouldn't have felt the urge or impulse of eating. i am in bed already and already wrote and posted tomorrow's entries. i will just add the menu later. xoxo

wi3 on 07/19/2008:
That is really cool that you are getting so organized. There is nothing I love more than coming home to a clean, ordered house. I like to purge my closets and put the pretty smelling paper on the shelves..organize my dresser drawers, all that good stuff. You will be able to take a nice, deep breath and feel the clean! Good for you! Plus it is great exercise lol. Have a wonderful day!

O.K. here we go...PARTEEEEEEEE TIME! Jen40 MADE IT TO the 100's....YEA!!!!!

Wednesday was a good day... I got things accomplished outside that I really didn't plan on doing, but at least now they are done....As the day went along and I was doing laundry, etc....I remembered we were ALMOST out of T.P (hows that happen?)...After Tayt woke up from e very lengthy nap, I took him home & the kids & I went to town to get the T.P. and decided to go visit my sis-in law a bit & get my playpen (they borrowed it a year ago~ time flies!)..... I will have a baby to watch tomorrow (4 months old) and am preparing..... So, that tells you that most things I wanted to get done yesterday will have to get done today.... One is to steam clean the carpet... It shall be a late night tonight! Didn't eat supper until 9:30 p.m last night.... Got an e-mail about 4:00 (right before going to town) asking about a walk @ 7 p.m....Got home @ 6:45 p.m...Just time enough to get clothes & shoes changed and head out.... Went for 6 miles... Hubby did not go.. He has a big blister on the back of his heel from wearing the wrong shoes Tuesday night... Felt strange without him.... Walk was o.k. Just trying to work through some things/feelings right now... Will make it one way or the other..... I did pop a tootsie pop in my mouth on the way out the door.. hehehe!!!!!

I received an e-mail from someone yesterday that I usually don't hear from and thought maybe some might get a chuckle out of this little story... It is actually pretty cute and did make me laugh til I had a tear in my eye and slapped my knee a few times.. No, I didn't have the tear in my eye from slapping myself too hard.. It is funny and when you have little kids......it could REALLY happen!..I know there have been ones of us down for one reason or another lately and though it may bring your spirits up a bit or at least make ya laugh a little....Here it is:

"The Washcloth"

(A woman anticipating a 3:00 p.m. appointment to the Dr. for a physical)

Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me I had been re-scheduled for a 9:30 am appointment.

I had packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash as thorough as could be to make sure I was at least presentable and somewhat fresh.

I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in.

Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.

I was a little surprised when the doctor said, 'My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?'

I didn't respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home.

The rest of the day was normal ... Some shopping, cleaning, and cooking.

After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, 'Mommy, where's my washcloth?'

I told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, 'No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it.'

I'm not ever going back to THAT Dr. again!

I laughed out loud LOL when I read that...hehehehe!!! That is the FUNNIEST thing I have heard (read) in a long, long time!!! Thanks for sharing it with us. We all need a good laugh EVERY DAY!!!

So happy for you about your size 12's...would've been nice had I kept some of my clothes from when Hubby and I first got married (9's and 10's) but as I gained weight, I got rid of them :-(...except I have a couple of things but not jeans...:-( Happy for you, though!!! Have a wonderful day, Jerri!

Hi Thin! You are so good with those walks. Keep it up! No walk/biking for me today, I'm too tired.

I am still laughing after having read that email story again...hehehehehe!!!

omahagrl on 07/17/2008:
TOOOOO Funny. I passed this along to some of my girl friends. Great job once again on the walking. BTW thought of you yesterday at the store as the guy in front of me had 3 lbs or rainer cherries and it only cost him $15. LOL

looks like it was a good day for me and you!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/17/2008:
you're right...it's like a roller coaster with sugar. you just keep picking up more and more momentum to have more until it's literally too much and you fall!

Congrats on the walk, even though it was late! YAY!

maria777 on 07/17/2008:
Yes, I have something that is very comfy that I usually wear when cleaning, too! It is an old comfy capri set that I no longer wear in public but it is still good to wear around the house when cleaning. Hope y'all have a good nite over there!!! Enjoy the baby tomorrow!!!

Jen40 on 07/17/2008:
Hahaahha! I love the washcloth story! Hey, thanks for thinking of me and celebrating with me. Did you make changes to your comments to me on my diary? You know, if so, you really didn't need to. I know you are right about what you said, so there was no need to censor yourself. Not with me, honestly!!! I'd much prefer friends who tell me right out what's on their minds than having to feel stifled in what they want to say, most especially when it is because they care. I am losing weight too fast, I do know it. I also know at some point I am going to hit a wall, or a plateau, and this is all going to be like trudging through quicksand. I'm going to need a lot of encouragement then. At this time, I know that much of my success is fueled by resentment and anger, which is never a good thing. It's little flashes of old behaviors, where I am trying to gain control over the one thing, the only thing, I really DO have control over~ my own body and what I eat. Once it was bulimic and anorexic behaviors, once it was abusing laxatives, and right now it's being angry and controlling my self like I am my own warden. I am not lenient with myself at all. So there are two sides to every coin. You weren't wrong hun. ((Thank you)))

eeyore

Tuesday was a good day with eating healthy.... I was able to walk a little over 3 miles with hubby in the late evening....

Up early this morning...Actually not really early, just a couple hours earlier than I have been getting up all summer.... I am getting ready to go do some of my custodial job and be back home before Tayt gets here.... I finally got some more Yard Sale Tags yesterday, so today I wll be busy pricing and boxing things up....The weather is suppose to be hot hot hot and there is a lot of smoke hanging in the air....A fire far away, but the smoke has wandered our direction with the winds we have been having.....Will try to walk a bit earlier with Hubby this evening...We haven't been going until 9:00 and getting home around 10:00......Hope you have a wonderful day!

Didn't make it to do any custodial work before Tayt got here....I got caught on IM for a bit and then went outside to water flowers...Wound up watering, pulling weeds, rototilling & setting sprinklers for 3 hours....Hadn't been out to the garden in over a month..Huby has it so pretty with old wood ladders and thin metal rusted bedsteds set out for melons & cucumber trellis', old wooden chairs with seats punched out for tomato cages...Just simply rustic and fits perfect in our country surroundings... Corn is about waist high, tomatoes blooming, cucumbers vining/blooming, squash just starting to form....Kids have been picking peas.... It just caught me off guard...Dissapointed in myself that it has been in my own back yard and I have been missing the joys of it, but also happy to be caught off guard to bring a smile to my face.....It is something he has been wanting to do for several years and I am happy that he finally has some time to devote to it...

How frusterating about the need for a name/diary change. :( Good luck with the new journal! :)

grumpy on 07/16/2008:
Hey dear, i have been going on my walks and thinking of you. Yesterday I did 45 minutes, which i suppose it was 3 miles and i was thinking you'd be putting my walk to shame. :) All in a good way of course. I really admire you for all the changes you make for you and your family's health. love ya.

uncgrad2001 on 07/16/2008:
According to Mapquest, I will be moving 828 miles away. I've done it before, which is the crazy part.

And I didn't know about the google thing...I might sound like my grandmother when I say this, but nothing is private anymore!!! I like that it connects people, but then sometimes your business gets out there without even knowing it!

Oh, and the Starbucks sandwich is great!! I think it's around 300 calories (it's with a whole wheat english muffin)...the only thing I'm concerned about is the sodium in it. But it's the only thing that I can pick up on the way to work that I know will keep me full until my morning snack, which is relatively light anyway.

grumpy on 07/16/2008:
I think 4 is already great, just keep at it. if one day or another you can add an extra 2 or 3 in the morning, even better, i love it that your husband is walking because of you. do you realize the positive impact you're having on his health too because of this? I don't know if he needs to lose weight, but with the walks and the single meal portions, I am sure he will! anyway, as for me, my plan now is that it doesn't matter what i do as long as i do something most days. so if i dont go to dance class, i walk or something else. i went to yoga a couple times recently and it was good. i intend to go to dance classes later in the week as well, but walking seems easier for me right now and my neighborhood is great for that. so as long as i move, it's fine. :)

grumpy on 07/16/2008:
Oh no, i didn't take your "just" in a bad way at all. I understood you meant walking and not doing other things, and not to imply walking wasnt enough. dont worry! and yea, we do need to enjoy the weather. soon here it will be way too hot to walk, so for now, i will enjoy it.

that's fantastic about your husband! and that's great that you can walk together, it's such quality time to have with him! xoxo

grumpy on 07/16/2008:
by the way, i tried the naked superfood juice today and didnt like it. i would recommend getting the odwalla. note that it's not a juice, its really more of a smoothie. good for you but very feeling and higher cal, not to be drank during meals, but good snack or breakfast. :)

legcramps on 07/16/2008:
The computer does that to me all the time. I start it up and the next thing I know it's three hours later and nothing has been done!! So, do you put honey on top of your yogurt?? I can't imagine how that tastes, though it must be good... plain yogurt?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/16/2008:
your dinner sounds intriguing! :) i think it's great you have a healthy garden in your backyard! it saves a lot of money in grocery bills and the produce must taste great!

lafemme_loca on 07/16/2008:
Thanks for just being you ! and being here ! and being available... Over the last five years I have come and gone and it has always been nice to find you... :-) even with the name changes ;-) I really liked your dinner... it sounds good. Have a very blessed evening ! ~Lisa

WOW - a 3 mile walk and 3 hours in the garden - you really had a good day :) Your garden sounds very sweet! Don't you love harvest time.

lean on me

Lean On Me has been playing in my head since I was in the shower this morning. I want to say THANK YOU DDers for letting me lean on you...

&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~CLARIFICATION~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&

My name change this morning was not prompted by a "GOOGLE" scare of my name being "googled" and someone finding my user name or real name for that matter.... I registered with the proper e-mail and couple other things. But using an alias, full set of initials, maiden names, etc... or user name other than one you use on other websites is always the best practice when you are dealing with online "chats", "diaries", "etc.".....Because you CAN be found out by real name/partial name. etc by "googling","yahooing", etc......The reason for my change was due to a person I am having difficulties with knowing that I use DD...It was easier and best to just make the other diary "private", so I can still go back and read all of my journey and not "delete" certain days..That would of taken all day!.... My fear was the person figuring out my user name and going through my diaries past entries causing any more troubles or whatever may happen by them using my feelings/thoughts/comments against me at any given time.....Just thought I would clear up any confusion I may have caused when I changed the name... It is similar on purpose and I have chosen to copy/paste the last weeks entries under my new name, so I don't have an indentity crisis and feel like I am not a newbie...HAHAHAHA!!!!!....I love ya ALL and didn't want you to think that I was "scared" of anybody hunting me down or hunting you down by user name..Just do know though, if you do use your real name in any part of a user name it isn't hard to figure things out or in registering partial name or similarities "ANYWHERE" online will get you "out there" for "ANYBODY" to see.... Like some of the name changes I have seen today and wish you all the best!

&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~END OF CLARIFICATION~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&~&

Yes, this is thinnsidenotout..I had to make my other diary private, cause I believe that is was no longer mine. Entries and/or comments (from a few weeks back) have been or have the potential of being viewed and my thoughts/feelings are being or could be used against me.... I am still me and won't leave DD because of potential spyware.......

Monday was a good day.... I have had a lot of stuff on my mind this last few weeks.... After we ate supper & I just felt icky from mental stress. Basically things that were out of my hands I have concluded.... I asked hubby to go for a walk with me.... We walked 4 miles...2 miles was in/around an orchard at the end of our road...We never knew there were 2 ponds out there!.....We saw herron & ducks swimming.... Talked about issues and got home @ dark.... Our house isn't very big. To have this 4 miles time allowed for us to discuss some things (not between us) without the kids hearing and keeping gossip from happening....GOt home & came in the house to get the shoes off. Whala! The opportunity to get the issue addressed happened..... Got to bed about 11:30 and laid there talking with hubby even more til one of us started snoring ..I am sure it was him & not me! Haha!!!!!

This summer school break, I have had a realization about generations and how things are passed down to each..... I began with allowing the kids a free for all in the kitchen when it came to snack & meals (breakfast & lunch), cause it meant less for me to do.... Then it dawned on me that I was going to have children with the same eating habits I was taught to have.Right then and there that day, I decided to refuse to continue this cycle for the next generation.... I began fixing balanced lunches & snacks.. The very first day I noticed the LACK of ringing in my ear that perpetual tune I'M HUNGRY!.... This was part of discussion hubby and I had while walking too (we covered a lot on that 4 miles).... He told me that he has noticed a difference in himself since I have only been fixing enough for 1 meal at a time.. Meaning not enough for 2nds or 3rds like I used to.... The only thing I fix extra of is salad or veggies... He said that he has realized that he was eating, just cause it tasted good or just cause it was there.... I used to always fix enough for next day lunches or something, but it never made it to the next day.... I would like to think by me changing that I have learned how to ease my family into making changes that will benefit their health and be a basis for their adulthood (the kids, not hubby).. Stopping the cycle of the overweight generations....

Off to fix my hair & go to the bank.... Need to get a to do list going so I can mark things off through the day... I am planning on going to bed tonight knowing I have accomplished everything I have set out to do for this day...

Hey Jerri. That's a great idea about fixing one meal and just extra salads and veggies. But I like the 'free for all' idea. how about you teach them how to make a balanced meal and then they can do their own thing? You could each do it all together, but with good choices that are both yummy and healthy. would be fun. xoxo

tweety love

Sunday was a good day..... Went to church, then came home and took a nap after dinner..... Didn't do a whole lot the rest of the day... Did go on a late evening walk of 4 miles with the whole family after we ate supper... Waited a bit to see if Mickey wanted to go, but they weren't home I guess... Finally about 8:15 p.m. I asked hubby if we could all go for at least 4.... It took just as long to get in those 4 miles as it would of if I would of normally walked 6 miles.. The kids rode their bikes.... About 2 miles from home, Ben's front tire went flat (puncture thorn), then Meg's brakes froze up on her bike a few minutes later..... We made it home @ 10:00 p.m.... Ben carried his bike (didn't want to ruin the tube by pushing it) and Meg had to baby her bike home..... It was fun and the weather was perfect.... Hubby said it didn't kill me to go 4 miles....YEA!

Today is a day to get in and clean house... I look to have a couple extra kids one day this week... One is a baby... It is the boys I was suppose to have beginning in June... I am excited to see them again, but need to do a bit of getting things in order before their mom calls...... Weather is suppose to be in the upper 80's/lower 90's all week.. A couple days with 20-30 mile winds..... Walking should be pleasant for most days.......

I had mentioned yesterday that hubby had started joining the efforts I am making and has went down by 11 pounds (surprised himself)...I also mentioned that I didn't want this to become a competitive feeling between us..... I know competition is good, but when he doesn't have near as much to downsize by and can get it done without even knowing it up to this point.. That does make it hard for me.... Men do get it done quicker it seems.... Women are just as capable, but have the hormones, emotions & just all the women stuff to deal with makes a big difference you know..... I love the fact that he sees he can do this and I WANT him to be healthier & slimmer.... I do look for him to weigh more often AND let me know when he is down another pound... I haven't told him anytime I have weighed.... He hasn't asked either... I'm glad... It is up to me in this journey to share what I want and keep to myself those things I am not ready to share... I'm not hiding anything from him, just have chosen for once that this is my time and my thing..He may be around when someone (like my MOM) asks how much weight I have lost and he hears it then, but I also tell the person asking (mostly my MOM) that I have not lost it... I AM NOT in the lost & found phase of any diet world anymore..... THESE POUNDS ARE FOREVER GONE!.....

We are currently under a severe wind advisory. The report advises to use extreme caution while driving, due to blowing dust/debris.....YUCK!.... I guess I better go get the Gazelle out to use when Tayt goes home...No walking outside for me today.....May grab the weights and try something different too..... I'll let ya know later...

cherries

Saturday was a good day... Slept in a bit, then headed out to my parent's for hubby a hair cut.. Then we went shopping for some groceries at the Cash-n-Carry... Bought a 5# bag of diced cabbage with grated carrots & a 5# bag of bean sprouts... Does that tell you what we will be eating this week?..... I can hardly resist buying them by the 5# bag when I go there.... They are only $3.79 a bag... Washed and ready to go..... I will make homemade egg rolls one night, but only eat 1 when I do... I usually just eat the filling then.... Also bought a bottle of S.F. Pumpkin Pie Syrup for an occasional homemade iced flavored coffee.... Yum!.... Really wanted the Big Train S.F. Powdered vanilla mix, but it was way too expensive... Oh well!.... I had the chance to eat some of the cherries off of my dad's tree and some fresh peas out of his garden... Then I came home to pick & eat about 6 cherry tomatoes of my own.... Tastes so wonderful when it is home grown goodness....

Did go on a 6 mile walk late evening... The temps got to the upper 90's and are suppose to today as well.... We are getting ready for church and head out within the hour....

Just a little update on my dad... He is still walking.. The Dr. had told him he is doing fine. To keep up the walking & eating right so the diabetes scare will stay away... He won't tell me exactly what he has went down by, but I am guessing between 25-30 pounds.... Then, hubby informed me this morning that he has went down by 11 pounds since the last time he stepped on the scale (couple months)....Even though he is not really trying to, maybe my menu's and harping on the kids and him to take it easy on the grocery bill is working.... YEA!!!!! He looks so handsome with the haircut my dad gave him yesterday.... MMM MMM!!!!! I think that him stepping on the scale this morning has given him a little pep to keep going.. He is happy...ME TOO! I will have to be careful to not get carried away with it though, cause when he does get to downsizing it doesn't take him near as much effort as it does for me and I don't want to feel like I am in a competition with him and on the losing end of the battle...

Hello

Friday was a bit better than Wed/Thur...I did get to walk late evening for 6 miles...Mickey went with me... YEA!!!!! Hubby & I went to a couple Yard Sales this morning, but they weren't very good ones....The weather is suppose to be almost 100 degrees today & tomorrow... I look to take a 6 mile walk again late this evening....

Still in a "funk"..Not necessarily about weight issues, but just in general. I guess to go through "blues" (for whatever reason) occasionally probably is not unusual for a "40" year old woman....Thanks everybody for the comments and encouragement...

I know this is going to sound contrary to the post that I made this week about feeling down about not being <200 yet, but those numbers do weigh heavily upon me..I want to be able to say that I am at least 199 for the first time in over 10 years. That is what is hard about being patient, even though my body is changing is I want the numbers to cooincide...That is why I decided to give the scale a break til Aug 1st........BUT, I have caught myself taking double takes in the reflections of windows & mirrors here this last few weeks and I begin to smile when I see "me" looking thinner..... If you have been "downsizing" and haven't taken a GOOD look at yourself in the reflection of a window or mirror while shopping, etc..I encourage you to do so... To look in a mirror at home is one thing, but when you are out & about to get a "full" body shot in different surroundings...You may be suprised at how good you look and catch yourself smiling at "you" in sheer proudness that you are making the changes & for it to finally start showing. Just gives you that much more "umph" to keep at it.....I don't look to be vain or "stuck on me", just like seeing the changes and feel the proudness of my success so far.......Bought a Woman's World yesterday that has the "Biggest Loser" winner on the front cover and am looking forward to reading the article on her one of these days soon...She looks great!....
