Hey everyone it's been a longggg time since I've posted on here, and a lot has happened! In my absence my husband has come home from being overseas and we are now living together at his follow-on assignment in DE =). It is officially our first real "house" and we are very excited about it!

Sadly since he's been home my weight has gone up significantly (not blaming it on him in ANY way!). We've been through a lot emotionally dealing with things. His mother is still battling her cancer, and is being very strong. We thank God every day that she's still able to be with us. The transition into our new home was a little stressful as I was job hunting for a few months and found out I was pregnant shortly after we moved in, but it wasn't meant to be and we lost the pregnancy. That took a toll on my body I think, and my weight has been up and down. However, we have settled in since then. I have an awesome job, our house is beautiful, the holidays are around the corner, and things are coming together nicely =). We make trips down to see our family every other weekend, and we are even going on vacation next week to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary.

So now I've decided to come back to DD and have more accountability for my food and exercise, as I found it helped a lot last year. It was depressing for me to put 150 as my goal weight, as that was my starting weight last year, but I've come a long way since my original weight of 200, and it's time for me to get back on track! Reaching this new goal would be a great accomplishment for me, so here's to a brand new start!

*Breakfast:: 1/2 C. Cereal and Skim Milk; Yogurt --225

I hope everyone is doing well out there! I will try to get back online tonight and post the rest of today's progress, but I work late so we'll see. If not I will just post tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day and God Bless!

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 15 lbs to go!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to everyone out there! Today is going a little better, thank you for all of the support and encouragement. I am at work now so I will try to comment back when I can, if not I will get on later tonight.

Menu so far:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup shredded wheat
1/2 cup Kashi cereal
1 Strawberry Yoplait yogurt

Morning snack: Banana
A small amount of organic cottage cheese.

I'm trying to start eating cottage cheese because it's high in protein and good for you, but I can't seem to stand the taste... does anyone know how to make it taste better???? Any suggestions would be AWESOME!

Progress as of today: 4.5 lbs lost so far, only 5.5 lbs to go!

thinnsidenotout on 02/14/2008:
With C.Cheese, I like S/F Jell-O,pineapple or pears, but my hubby uses a dash of black pepper. HAVE A WONDERFUL VALENTINES DAY!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/16/2008:
add 1 or 2 tablespoons of sugar free preserves/jelly/topping to it. There is this awesome syrup, blueberry topping. I forget who makes it...I think it's sold by the baked goods/cakes aisle in the supermarket. 10 calories per tablespoon. VERY tasty. I'm also a fan of preserves. You can mix it with sugar free pudding or jello. Or, add some fruit to it. You can have it on a baked apple. I have been having less cottage cheese bc it is salty and i already eat a lot of salt. You can also have nonfat plain yogurt and do all these things with it.

So I've had a small relapse for the past few weeks, which is why I haven't been on here. I can't seem to get back on track =(. There's just so much crap going on and I'm under so much stress I dont know what to do. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I think I'm depressed. Not because of the day, because I think it's just a Hallmark holiday and every day should be "valentine's day" where you show your significant other you love them, not just the 14th of February, but whatever. I think I'm depressed because I just feel stuck. Stuck here without my husband, stuck in the "not-knowing" whether he's coming home or not, stuck in a drama-filled work environment where my boss is being horrible toward me and my co-worker....just stuck in general. I cant wait for spring, I hate the winter. Tomorrow I will honestly try to get back on track. I will try to forget all the crap that's going on and just focus on myself, but so far that's been really hard to do. I just wish I knew what was going on. I wish we knew if we will be moving next month or not...I wish I knew anything.

Sorry for the rant and what not...hopefully my next visit here will be better. Stay strong and on track ladies and gentlemen. I really do believe that anything is possible, and I am usually not this negative. SORRY!!!

Progress as of today: 4.5 lbs lost so far, only 5.5 lbs to go!

thinnsidenotout on 02/13/2008:
Well, it shows that you have lost a pound since the 7th....... with ONLY 5.5 lbs to go..... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!

Aw, I am sorry, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Make yourself cups of herb tea all the time. It's really good for you and nice in the winter, also will keep you from snacking if you're feeling anxious! Hope things will be more clear for you soon!

HAPPY VALENTINES! I know I know.... bad on the Valentines thing BUTTTT I thought I would send valentines poems to everyone in a little need of cheering up and you SIR ARE ONE OF THEM So here is a little motivation poem just for you chicky pooh.... feel better

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be!

There is inside you all of the potential to be whatever you want to be, all of the energy to do whatever you want to do.

Imagine yourself as you would like to be, doing what you want to do, and each day, take one step towards your dream.

And though at times it may seem too difficult to continue, hold on to your dream.

One morning you will awake to find that you are the person you dreamed of, doing what you wanted to do, simply because you had the courage to believe in your potential and to hold on to your dream.

Seems I've gone off track the past week so it's time to get back on here and post my food and stuff so I can look at it at the end of the day and stay motivated. Too much is going on to really give an update at the moment, since I have to leave for work in 5 minutes. But I should be back later to post the rest of my menu and update.

So far...

Breakfast: Strawberry yoplait yogurt
1/2 cup Quaker oatmeal w/ 2 tsp brown sugar and a little bit of skim milk

That's it for right now...see you all later! =)

Progress as of today: 3.5 lbs lost so far, only 6.5 lbs to go!

You're SO close to your goal so that should be some sort of motivation. On the other hand, those last five pounds are usually the hardest to lose. Maybe posting your menu will help. Have a super day!

This weekend hasn't been a very good one at all. My husband flew out on Friday and it's been hitting me over and over that he is gone again after he was just here for 2 weeks. It just is really hard to accept that he's not in the next room or downstairs..he's back overseas. I just can't wait until he is back home with me again.

To make things a bit more "blah" I've been sick to my stomach with some kind of flu bug since Friday night. My husband had gotten really sick on Wednesday, and had problems with his stomach the rest of the time he was here...so I think I got what he had. My fever is gone tho, and today was a lot better than yesterday.

Tomorrow is back to work, and hopefully it will be a good week. Once I get back into the swing of things, things will be better.

I got a chance to read a few diaries and leave a few comments. I hope everyone out there has a good week, and I will definetly be back sometime soon when I feel a little better.

Tomorrow is a new start after a long 2 weeks, back on track with my food and maybe exercize once I feel better.

Goodnight =)

Wow it seems it's been FOREVER since I've been on here! Things were crazy (in good ways and bad) when my husband was here. Right now he's on a plane back to Korea =(. Well the "good crazy" was that things went awesome with being able to see and spend time with him. We did family things and we were able to squeeze in a few date nights which was nice. The "bad crazy" happened when my mother in law was hospitalized from Wednesday 1/16 to the Sunday that just passed. That was an emotional rollercoaster. She went in because she had a high fever after her chemo and severe shortness of breath and they ended up draining fluid off of her lungs. We went and saw her every day she was there and we were so happy that things got better and they let her come home. It was a scary time. The reality is that is how things will be with the chemo treatments. There will be many ups and downs, but hopefully not any more hospitalizations. My husband and I are going to fight for him to get a Humanitarian re-assignment so he can come home and we can be stationed close to home. That way we can visit the family and also be close by in case something were to happen. I know he is very upset that he's on his way back to Korea right now. All we can do is hope for the best. If we do get reassigned they will probably send us to Delaware because we are supposed to go there in September anyway. We are hoping to just go there in April because if he finishes 180 days in Korea it will count as his remote tour, and he most likely won't be shipped out on another one for the remainder of his time in the service.

Blah. I hate uncertainty and not knowing what will happen, but I know things will work out the way they are meant to and for the better. Either way hopefully we will end up in Dover by the end of this year, and will be there for a while. It would be nice to be able to plant our feet somewhere and start a family and being on our own, since we've been apart for basically our first year of marriage because of the Air Force.

Anywayyyyyy....sooooo I am disappointed/proud of myself at the same time for my weight. On one hand I gained 2 pounds back...but on the other hand that's pretty good considering I went from working out an hour a day and eating very sensibly...to not working out at all and eating whatever junk food I wanted. Hahaha...so it's back on the wagon for me since the hubby is gone and I'm no longer "on vacation".

It's funny...it's like I don't know what to do with myself since he left again. I just got back into the routine of being with him every day and now I have to get back to the routine of work and missing him 24/7. Hopefully he will be home in April...but who knows what will happen.

All I know is everything will be ok...

Well I hope everyone out there has been doing good. I'm sick of staring at the computer because it's giving me a headache. I haven't been online in awhile and have to get used to it again. I will get on tomorrow and read up on everyone. God Bless!

Progress as of today: 2.5 lbs lost so far, only 7.5 lbs to go!

shadetree on 01/25/2008:
I'm so glad that you got to spend some time with the hubby. Hopefully he will get the reassignment. If you're at 147 you're still down from your start point, so don't worry about it.

Everything will be okay.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/25/2008:
I hate uncertainty, too. However, I am learning to accept the fact that some things cannot be solved in a split second and the only thing a person can do it wait.

its good you didn't gain more than 2 lbs! :)

MY HUSBAND WILL BE HOME IN LESS THAN 11 HOURS!!! yay!!! Well there was a major delay and they had to put him up in a hotel for the night, but he's on a plane right now and I'm so excited! I hope everything goes good with his mom when he's here so he has a pleasant visit. We are all praying for the best!

So i realize I haven't been dedicated to getting on here and posting my menus, but I have been doing good with my exercise and food. Today was 1/2 hour Tae Bo and 1/2 hour elliptical (past week has been 1 hour of elliptical every morning.)

I'm not going to post all the menus I've missed since that'd take forever and I forgot half of them...sooo Menu for today was as follows::

Breakfast: 1 cup Kashi mixed w/ Strawberry Yogurt (I like to put the Kashi in my yogurt because I eat the crunchy kind that's kinda like granola)

Snack: Banana

Lunch: 1 can plain Chunk Light Tuna in water on 1 slice whole grain bread (yes I ate the entire can, but I was starving after my workout and it was only 120 calories andddd had 26 grams protein)
Orange sliced into Smiles =)
Reduced Sodium V8
Chocolate Calcium Chew

Afternoon Snack: McDonald's Vanilla Twisty Cone (Yummm only 150 cals)

Dinner: Healthy Choice Sesame Chicken Dinner
1 Slice Wheat Bread (only 50 cals) w/ 3 small slices Turkey and Tomato

Technically I skipped dessert, but then again I kinda had it for my afternoon snack. Picked up my best friend and we got the ice cream and boy did it hit the spot!! After that just hung out and watched Chuck and Larry and gave ourselves manicures haha. Then I went to my in-laws and hung out there a little bit and watched tv with my mother-in-law. It was nice. She is feeling a little better. She has had awful pain in her ribs and back and the pain medicine is finally starting to alleviate some of it so that's good. I'm glad she's feeling better and will be able to enjoy her son coming home tomorrow!

Ok well I'm going to try to get some sleep. I'm sooo excited for tomorrow morning! I'm gonna wake up and do my workout then go get him at the airport. It will be so nice to have him home for 2 weeks =).

Hope everyone had a nice Friday and has an awesome weekend! Not sure when I will get a chance to post again, but keep up the good work and stay motivated! Goodnight and God Bless =).

Progress as of today: 4.5 lbs lost so far, only 5.5 lbs to go!

Right now I'm REALLY frustrated. My husband should have been on a plane over an hour ago and he's still stuck in Korea because of snow! Grrrrr.

So the military wouldn't approve him to take 30 days of emergency leave...because his mom isn't on Hospice and the doctors couldnt tell the Red Cross for sure that she is going to pass in a few months!? It's just crap because the doctors cant say that anyway because she's supposed to have chemo and it all depends on her response to the drugs. Air Force morons! Blah. Sooooo his commander approved him to take 2 weeks of regular leave...and $3,000 later we got a plane ticket for him to come home...and now the flight is DELAYED?? Ahhhhh this whole thing sucks!

I should really be in bed but I cant sleep when I dont know what's going on with him. What better time to post? haha.

Food has been good lately. A few late night binges, but just small ones related to stress. I just hate uncertainty with anything and that's ALL I have right now with EVERYTHING. Uncertainty about the chemo, uncertainty about what's going to happen with my husband and his tour in Korea, uncertainty about EVERYTHING. Ahhh. Ok I think I just need to go lie down. I've been reading a few diaries but haven't had time to really log in and devote my hour like I used to and that sucks. Sorry! I hope everyone out there is doing awesome! Can't believe the first month of 2008 is almost over!! Time flies! Well goodnight and God Bless!

So as soon as I make a comment about getting back to posting regularly, things have to start going wrong.

Looks like the husband will be coming home (hopefully). It's a good thing and a horrible thing because we are currently trying to get him home on emergency leave because his mom is not doing too well with her cancer. A recent scan has shown it to have spread badly and she is to start another regime of chemo on Monday. She has been battling this damn thing for 5 years. It's metastatic breast cancer now to her lungs and bones (spine & ribs). Please everyone say a prayer that she overcomes this obstacle.

I knew as soon as she told me everything, that my husband would be on a plane home...and the first thing he said when he heard the news was that he was definetly going to. I think it is important for him to come be with her during her treatments because he needs to spend time with his mother and be there for her through this...and of course that's the only thing he wants to do. He was away at tech school through her last chemotherapy and that killed him inside. If he comes home he will get 30 days emergency leave. Since the cancer is so aggressive and advanced, things can either go really well with the new chemo or really bad. If they are bad he can apply for a Humanitarian Assignment and we will be assigned to a base closest to home. This assignment will allow him to be close to his mother through everything. It will also mean we lose our 3 year assignment to Delaware that was supposed to come after his year in Korea. I told him that no assignment is worth not being able to spend time with his mom and that him coming home is the only choice. It's a possibility that they will send us to Delaware if he gets Humanitarian anyway, because they already have a spot for him in a year, and it's one of the bases close to home. God only knows what will happen, but it will all work out the way He's planned it.

So basically that's what's been going on here and why I wasn't on last night. Surprisingly I've managed to hold myself together ok and keep making healthy decisions. It's important for me to keep up with my eating healthy because otherwise I tend to resort back to bulimia during times of high emotional stress such as this, so I will probably be popping in just to post my meals at least and keep myself motivated to stay on track and stay healthy.

All I can do now is wait for all of the paperwork to go through and for him to come home. I really pray that the chemo goes well and he's able to stay his 30 days and has no need for Humanitarian because the cancer will shrink and his mom will get better. Please God watch over my mother-in-law and guide her through this difficult time as you have before.

Everyone have a good week and stay strong in whatever goal you are pursuing. God Bless

Wow I haven't been on here since Thursday...seems like eternity! Well I've read diaries, but haven't posted until now.

I can't believe the weekend is almost over...but I guess that's a good thing because it's one step closer to seeing my husband!

I've done very well this weekend with food. Since I have 3 days of menus to post I'll do that now..

Friday::
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal
Orange Juice
Multivitamin
Strawberry Yogurt

Snack: Banana

Lunch: Turkey sandwich w/lettuce on 2 slices whole grain bread
Reduced Sodium V8
Chocolate Calcium Chew
1/2 cup Shredded Wheat
1 Ghirardelli 60% Cocao Dark Chocolate Square

Snack: Apple

Dinner: 1 Cup Low Sodium Minestrone Soup
Salad w/ Tomatoes and Broccoli
2 Tbsp Low Fat Ranch Dressing
3 Slices Turkey lunch meat

Dessert: 2 Caramel Vanilla Sugar Free JellO Puddings

Saturday::
Breakfast: 1/2 Cup Oatmeal
Strawberry Yogurt
Orange Juice
Multivitamin

Lunch: Turkey sandwich w/ lettuce on 2 slices Whole Grain Bread
Orange Smileys (Large orange cut into many small slices =) )
Reduced Sodium V8
Chocolate Calcium Chew

Snack: Banana

Dinner: 1 small piece Kielbasa Sausage w/ dipping Ketchup for flavor

Peach Yougurt

Chocolate Calcium Chew

Snack: 3/4 C. Shredded Wheat
1/2 Apple

That's it for now....I'm going to have Snow Crab for dinner...my favorite!! My dad picked some up at the store so I'm happy =). I think I will have some broccoli, carrots, tomato w/ Ranch with it. If I have any carbs I'll have a mini wheat bagel (only 120 calories), but I doubt it. I know I'm going to have a pudding. I think someone asked me about the pudding I eat in a comment and it's JellO...Sugar Free...and the official name is Dulce de Leche...but it says caramel vanilla underneath, which is what it is. I just call it caramel vanilla in case people don't know what Dulce de Leche means. Anyway, it's really good. It's vanilla on the bottom with caramel sauce on top. Yum!

So yeah, food has gone well this weekend, and so has exercise. Friday I did my hour on elliptical, yesterday I did 1/2 hour elliptical and 1/2 hour Tae Bo. Today I did 1 hour elliptical. I've been eating a lot of oatmeal for breakfast lately because my throat has been hurting a little and the oatmeal is warm and soothing for it. The dinner last night was a little rich for me, but it was good. I only ate small portions. I guess that's because I helped my mother-in-law make the potatoes, and saw what went into them. She doctors them up with her own ingredients, which made them rich (aka the cheese and cream). I'm not really a sausage person at all, but I did have a small piece because that was dinner and I didn't want to eat anything later on. It was pretty good, tasted like a hot dog. I skipped dessert.

Ok well I think it's time to go eat dinner. I've been lounging all weekend. Yesterday I went to my in-laws for the Redskins game..which we lost, but oh well. Today I've done nothing but work out and lounge haha. Tomorrow it's back to work! Hope everyone's weekend was nice! I will start getting back into updating, I just haven't felt like it the past few days since I've been under the weather...which by the way it's FREEZING here! God Bless!

Progress as of today: 4.5 lbs lost so far, only 5.5 lbs to go!
