Weight: 157.0

Hello again all

My exercising has been intermittent and my healthy eating has been random so I'm not surprised that I haven't lost any more weight or even that a pound has crept back on.  Today is the first time I've weighed myself in a while.

Work has been busy - we have the launch of our New Year Stop Smoking campaign in a few days and I've been trying to get people to come along to it.  I face the challenge of trying to work exercise and healthy eating (rather than grabbing something unhealthy but quick) into my busy day also working around us decorating the hall and having a busy social life.  Last week I exercised in front of a room of friends while they carried on chatting (they said they didn't mind) but I generally prefer time and space to do it.

Still, to look at the positive side: I haven't put much weight on.  A one pound difference is more or less staying stable.  I don't want to get into the mindset of being angry with myself for having gained one pound.

I think I should have kept updating here - it does help me focus and your supportive comments have been invaluable.  So I'll try to do that from now on!

Hello ALL! x

Dame Trish of Chub in her elegant bedroom
I will post recent pictures every now and then to inspire me - I live with Mr Trish, who is the vainest person I know, who has an SLR camera and who is very supportive of me learning to like the way I look

Today's Exercise
Wii Fit: 29 mins Aerobic exercise + 5 minutes yoga and muscle workout
Pilates: 15 mins
Stretches: 5 mins

Today's Eating
organic crispy coconut crunch
Lunch: vegetable quorn roast, mashed sweet potato, carrot & parnsip, home-made applesauce (just apples, water and lemon juice), broccoli and peas
Evening: A whole load of alcohol and bad food - darn Christmas parties! The bad food mainly because there weren't non-dairy veggie options.  I need to prepare better and bring my own food to parties.  No excuse for the alcohol, though.

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/14/2008:
wow! that's a really nice photo. :)

enjoy your sunday.

Weight: 156.0

Breakfast: A croissant (Kevin from my workplace had bought himself 4 blueberry muffins and 4 croissants to eat and couldn't manage them all - our team helped)

Lunch: Roasted root veg sandwich from Boots the Chemist vegetarian Christmas range

Evening: Mashed sweet potato and carrot, stir fried veg with some chilli and ginger, satay sauce topping - all home made

Exercise: Half an hour aerobic exercises on the Wii Fit - an hour of stripping wallpaper alongside Mr Trish (we're a great stripping double act)

Things I'd like to do:

  1. Exercise at the start of the day as well as at the end, maybe do Pilates first thing in the morning then aerobics in the evening
  2. Drink more water
  3. Eat more fruit and veg - past few days have been not so healthy

Best wishes and good luck to all people xxx

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

Exercise: Half an hour on Wii Fit - 2 and a bit hours of stripping wallpaper

Evening meal: 2 bean burgers, couscous salad

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

skinnyjeans on 11/26/2008:
Mmm...I love hummus! Hope you are enjoying your week...all of us here in the US are trying to figure out how not to pig out tomorrow on Thanksgiving Day. :)

trishpiglet3 on 11/26/2008:
Ah, that explains where my American friend is disappearing off to I have similar 'not pigging out' difficulties around Christmas and hope you have an enjoyable holiday Remember, the less you eat of rich food, the more you enjoy what you do eat!

Monday update

Lunch: pear and goats cheese sandwich (goat being the only dairy I'm allowed - in small quantities to prevent wheezing)

Evening: oatcakes with soya cheese (to give me energy to do the following)

Exercise: Stripping wallpaper in our hall!

Dinner: Jacket potatoes with soya margarine and cherry tomatoes

Verdict: Not enough veg!

I still haven't lost any more weight, just staying stable - I don't think I'm exercising enough

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 11/25/2008:
Stripping wallpaper IS a job!.... Change things around a bit and maybe the needle will move a bit....

How's the Wii Fit? My friend just got it but I haven't tried it out yet. I hope you had a nice weekend! :)

trishpiglet3 on 11/24/2008:
It's very useful and I entirely recommend it, especially for a gradual start to exercising. The computer game format of unlocking extra things as you play works well for exercise because it means you start off slowly and with easier exercises. I have difficulty keeping up when doing high impact aerobics but with the aerobic exercises on Wii Fit, I can do bite-sized chunks. There are muscle workouts and yoga on there also and balance games, which I'm viewing as a 'just for fun' thing because I can't see how they help that much in getting fit (although I could be wrong, my balance is dreadful).

It counts how many minutes of exercise you do each day, telling you when you reach 30 minutes. It tells you when it thinks you need a break and it has the capacity to weigh you and work out your BMI.

The way I intend using it is as a supplement to other exercise I'm doing but yes, highly recommend it for it's structure and for how it eases you into working out. Hope you and your friend have fun with it!

trishpiglet3 on 11/24/2008:
Oops, just felt the hand of the grammar police. Its structure NOT it's!

Weight: 156.0

Well, that took a while me working out how to post now the site has changed!  I haven't lost any more weight - I've been exercising (that's the easy bit) but not eating anything like healthily (the harder bit).  Going to try to rectify that.

Breakfast: 1 sharon fruit (persimmon) and 1 apple

Exercise: 10 minute aerobic warm up, 20 minutes Pilates, 30 minutes on the Wii Fit: Jogging, Step, Super Hula Hoop, Rhythm Boxing and 1 balance game as a treat at the end

Lunch: Stew: aubergines, mushrooms, garlic, coriander, tomatoes, jar of tomato and basil sauce , dumplings made from vegan stuffing plus nutritional yeast and almonds.  Served with carrots and peas.  Only oil used in whole thing was however much oil was in the jar of tomato sauce.

Evening: Vegan lemon biscuits, thai food (much!), glass of wine

ETA: Have worked out how to hyperlink now (see link to tomato and basil sauce above) but I think Diet Diaries really don't want me to  because it's very difficult to do

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

ddwebmaster on 11/22/2008:
What are you trying to hyperlink? If it's pictures or something that you want to appear in your entry, there are a few ways to have them appear here. The simplest is to just copy and paste them into your entry.

ddwebmaster on 11/22/2008:
The other way is to click the "image button" when you're entering a new diary entry. Then you can input a URL or directly upload a picture from your computer. The easiest way is to just copy and paste though.

This post is in progress and will be updated

Exercise: 10 mins aerobic warm up, 20 minutes Pilates, 5 minutes stretches

Had an extended birthday break from exercising and diligently healthily eating. My weight is no worse, one pound down in fact, but my back is aching and not improving; I need to be doing Pilates exercises, they really do keep it in check.

Hello everyone! Glad to be back. I'll catch up having a read of all your diaries when I've done my workout :)

I knew someone was having a b.d. on the 4th and now I have to wish you a belated b.d...... Happy B.D.!!!!!!!!

trishpiglet3 - Sunday Nov 02, 2008

Weight: 157.0

Sunday 2nd November Breakfast: 1 sharon fruit

Lunch: 1 bumper veggie sausage sandwich (wholegrain bread, vegan sausage, carrot, celery, tomato, organic brown sauce - I have to report that this was amazingly yummy)

Dinner: Home-made Dhal, home-made sweet potato curry, wild rice, brown rice, poppadoms (home cooked and spectacularly mis-shapen), home-made raita (plain soya yogurt, cucumber and fresh mint leaves)

I made a LOT of curry but was sensible enough to eat only one plate of food - anything that I or Mr Trish didn't eat is either in a tub in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch or thrown away. I wonder why I often make too much food? Am from poor family background but surely that should have made me alert to making the right amount and not wasting? Mr Trish's joke is that if I'm cooking for 9 people I should pretend I'm cooking for 2.

Oh and drinks: the usual :)

Love, best wishes and good luck to all of you xx
