I Know Now How Vampires Feel

I am a major Stephanie Meyer, Laurell K. Hamilton, and Charlene Harris Fan. These are all vampire book series. Today while at work I had a glimpse into Edwards head (I have read the online Midnight Sun). I was walking by the double chocolate fudge cake and someone had taken the lid off. OMG!! I was Edward after the fan blew Bella's scent to him in Twilight. Trying to figure out how many ways I could eat the entire cake without anyone knowing I had done it. I had to hold my breath and try real hard to think about the consequences. I knew if I had one taste the it would be over and the cake would be devoured. I did not have enough self control for a small piece or just one bite. The thought of this whole scenario made me crack up (once I got out of site of the cake). I was strong just like Edward, I made it! I beat the sweet smell of that cake. I became friends with it and was able to walk past it the rest of the day. The urge returned slightly when I cut into it to take my boyfriend a piece home (I was trying to get as much of it out of the office, so I don't have to look at it all week). I wanted to, and almost did, lick the frosting off my fingers, BUT I didn't. I know now how the vampires feel.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 77 lbs to go!

Oh Boy! Don't fall in love with the cake, ok?!!! Hilarious! Double chocolate fudge cake... ok, we'd better change the subject. I love vampire series' too. Have you ever read any of Anne Rice's earlier books? I really enjoyed them, and they're mostly about vamps and witches. Have a great day today!

glycrina on 01/27/2010:
LOL! have an apple instead, Like vampires can live without human blood, we can also live without processed sugar. In the end the world is a better place.

nita51 on 01/27/2010:
Again, I ask,,,,,why was cake even created? " the things we don't let defeat us,,, only makes us stronger" :) Sooooo proud of you for your strength. may the scales be good to you, for that courage you displayed. Thanks for your congrds. Have a wonderful day 2mmrw. Hugs.

Public Diaries

Well I did good I made it through the weekend with all my calorie days being under 1550!

Now I have obstacles this week:

1. Monday is my co-workers birthday so there will be bad food and celebrating with the workers that are there.
2. Tuesday is her big party at work where there will be chocolate cake, homemade enchiladas, rice and beans.
3. Wednesday & Thursday there will be leftover chocolate cake on the counter staring at me.
4. Friday is my boyfriends daughters birthday and we are suppose to take her out to eat with one of her friends.
5. Sunday is her birthday party- again cake, but the good news this day is skating which IS exercise.

Pray that I do not get attacked by cake this week. I am not saying I will not have any cake, but I am going to try to have a very ultra small piece. Not everyday but Tuesday and maybe Sunday. At least Sunday I will have kids and skating to distract me. Hope everyone is going well.

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 79 lbs to go!

bez15 on 01/24/2010:
Oh my goodness, talk about obstacles! You will be my hero if you make it through this week and maintain/loose weight! Cake is so tempting. Maybe you can add an extra half hour of exercise so you can have small slices of cake :) Good luck!

nita51 on 01/25/2010:
Why was Cake even created??????? I'll be praying for you. I feel you'll get through this. Take Care.

panda22 on 01/25/2010:
You can get through this week! Don't let the cake consume your thoughts, you can overcome it! It is a terrible invention lol. Just stay focused on your goal which is to be healthy! I like how you've decided to have a small piece. That is a great plan, as you won't feel deprived, but won't feel guilty afterwards. Have a great week! =)

geevee on 01/25/2010:
You can have your cake and eat it too!!!

I had a similar situation at Christmas when I was confronted with both Key Lime pie and another die for pastry. I allowed myself a sliver of the pie, and I mean a sliver! All the while I kept telling myself that this amount was all I could manage. I ate is slowly - very slowly and felt so satisfied when I finished.

This is not easy to do but it is possible, esp. when you have so many opportunities to try this during the week! Enjoy that mouthful or two. That's all you need.

chidogs on 01/25/2010:
O.o. Cake is ebil! Yeah, my downfall too. Cakes, pies and pastries. We're coming up to February which has 2 birthdays. Since I've retired, I no longer face the dreaded "office pot luck" which is doom to diets. Homemade enchiladas? OhMy! Wear a blindfold or something. Best of luck, and hand tough!! You can do it. Take your own stuff and don't go look at the food table.

legcramps on 01/25/2010:
Wow, that IS a week full of obstacles! Drink lots of water and maybe you won't feel quite as tempted to snack away on all that cake. Good luck!

hollybelle on 01/25/2010:
Landmines everywhere - but you can "jump" over them Yo! Let us hear how WELL you did end of the week. As far as birthday cakes go - I love the cake and NOT the icing. So I scrape off all the icing and just have the cake, but .......Can you appear at the party, wish the coworker a Happy Birthday and gracefully bow out to "run an urgent errand"? I love all the ideas and support here above. Also - regarding leftover cake - I tell myself it isn't "fresh" it's stale and I'll hold out for a better offer. ???? You can do it! Congratulations on a good weekend!

legcramps on 01/22/2010:
Getting enough sleep is a great goal to have. Have a "Catch Up On Sleep" kind of weekend!

KathyBlue on 01/22/2010:
yeah, sleeping 8 hrs is essential. I need even more, some 10 hours...

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/23/2010:

I have went back and looked at everyones entries that have commented on mine because I am trying to find the person that mentioned sparkpeople.com to THANK THEM! It is an awesome site I have been playing with it the last two days. It has a place to track calories, exercise, weight and water intake. It has blogs and support groups and reciepes. Also you can earn points for meeting goals. I am not going to give this site up b/c well I LOVE it too. I have been here for sooo long and a lot of the same people are here that have been here so it is nice to see the same people, but I am going to add that site to my diet as well.

Did awesome on calories again today. Stayed in the 1200's again and did kickboxing tonight. Hope everyone is well.

Did extremly well yesterday for the first time in a long time. Calorie count was in the 1200's and went to kickboxing. A co-worker went with me last night to try it out, so that was fun having someone new there with me. Hope everyone is doing well. Maybe I can do just as good today as I did yesterday.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 81 lbs to go!

Had an okay day yesterday. Eating could have been better, but could have been A LOT worse too. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical at the gym. That kicked my butt. My heart rate usually runs about 129 and on the same level it was 145-155 the entire workout, which actually would be good if I was meaning for it to. Tonight is KICKBOXING 1st time back. Skipped the last two nights, my tounge has been drying out do to all the antihistimines (however you spell it) Have been drinking well over 100 oz of water the past 3 days trying to get rid of that feeling.

Today I had a yogert and banana for breakfast 170 cal, coffee w. lite creamer- 30 and a cheese stick for a snack 70 cal, that is it so far. Will update later after kickboxing and read some entry's. Hope everyone has a good day!!

Luch: 3chicken snacks-150, 1/2 sandwich 165, chips 140, hm lite guacamole 160, 1 piece of chocolate 75

Not so hot lunch total, will try to keep it lite for dinner So Far TOTAL 960

Went to kickboxing, and it soooo did kick my butt. OMG!! It was soooo hard.

Snack: Apple 100

Dinner fold over sandwich 130, chips 140, 1 screaming O chocolate treat(downfall of the day) 300

TOTAL Calories for the day 1630

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 81 lbs to go!

panda22 on 01/14/2010:
mmm Homemade guac is the best! Great job so far today! I had a high calorie lunch as well and will be having a light dinner lol. Have a great evening at kickboxing!

glycrina on 01/14/2010:
A Z-bar is a clif bar (all natural energy bar) for kids -- it is made with mostly organic ingredients (things like whole wheat, pear juice, nuts). Why don't I get the ones for grown ups? The ones for kids are smaller (less calories) and taste WAY better. I like the chocolate brownie and the graham cracker bars!

selina on 01/15/2010:
Kickboxing is SO COOL! I left a recipe for you in my entry..... have a great day!

hollybelle on 01/15/2010:
Love kickboxing! Don't worry about not so good calories. Sometimes we do the best we can and start again tomorrow. Make it a good weekend. Those weekends are what puts us over the top.......on success. You can do it. Hope you feel better. I have been having good muck with mucinex instead of the antihistimines, lately - but this is NOT medical advice. :o)

legcramps on 01/15/2010:
I think you did great today... hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

willbe100lbs on 01/15/2010:
Well done for today, sounds like you've been very busy and very healthy. what you had to eat sounds lovely and well done for going to kickboxing! My friend does that on a regular basis and she has toned up and lost so much. I'm quite tempted to try it. Take care and enjoy your weekend, xx

Did awesome with drinking water today. Ate okay could have done better. Had Braums chicken strips for dinner. That was the big downfall. Feel very worn out from work today. Not moving hardly any since Wednesday then going to work today....ugh! Nose is still very stuffy. Seems to have progressed throughout the day instead of get better. Was going to go to the gym tonight and try to tredmill for 20 minutes or so, but all my co-workers encouraged against it. They said I need to try that tomorrow instead of kickboxing cause I am still so stuffy. I dunno what to do. What do y'all think?

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 82 lbs to go!

bez15 on 01/11/2010:
Kickboxing is always a great workout. I say, as long as your nose isn't pouring like a foundtain you are capable of either the treadmill or kickboxing. (And if your body feels strong enough--I know sometimes colds make you achy)

nita51 on 01/12/2010:
Hot tea, & lots of liquids,,thats what I'm doing. think I'll take a Theraflu tonight. Thanks for the breakfast tips. Seriously,,,your suggestions REALLY sounded great. Think maybe you should take a little break?,,,,at least until you feel better. OK,,, talk with you later.

legcramps on 01/12/2010:
I also think you're capable of doing either workout, with some certain restrictions based on whether or not you're feeling dizzy or faint while working out. A cold can certainly get in the way of workouts; hope you managed to move a little bit even though you're sick! Feel better soon!

Back to life tomorrow. Nose is still pretty stuffed up, but I will just have to deal with it. Can not afford any more days off work. Need to get back into the healthy eatting groove as well. I would also like to go to the gym for a bit. I don't know how kickboxing  will go on Tuesday without any exercise over the last few days.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 80 lbs to go!

willbe100lbs on 01/11/2010:
Good luck with everything, make sure your totally warmed up and dont push yourself too harda= at kickboxing, theres nothing worse than feeling under the weather and aching everytime you move! Hope you feel better soon, goon luck, xx

Maria7 on 01/11/2010:
Glad you're feeling better. Just take things slow and easy!

nita51 on 01/11/2010:
YOU GAVE ME YOUR COLD! THROUGH CYBER SPACE! LOL ha ha just teasing,,, I'm getting better,, just can't shake this scratchy throat. Bundle up real good, when you go out. take care!

Still sick :( Missed 3 days of work this week. I think I am starting to beat it now though. Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow and feel as good as new. The house is a total mess. I have been LAZY! Well sick. I have slept ALOT! Hopefully I will have a ton of energy tomorrow and feel good enough to buzz like a bee. There is a ton that needs to be done.

Didn't go into work today, feel like crap. No kickboxing or anything last two days. Spent last night with fever woke up almost every hour with hot and cold chills. On antibiotics today with nasal spray and decongestant. Feel better right now. Ate lots of chicken noodle soup and drank Ginger ale. That is the most soft drink substance that I have had since 2001 all in one day. I don't do soft drinks, coffee, green tea, earl gray tea and water. Mostly water don't do a lot of teas and coffees. Hope everyone is doing good. I don't understand why anytime I start a weight lifting program I aways end up with a cold. Makes no since. Maybe it is just a series of coinsidents. Sorry can't spell. This thing should have a spell checker.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 80 lbs to go!

nenak on 01/08/2010:
could be the dry heat from the conditioning in the gym?

legcramps on 01/08/2010:
Hope you're feeling better soon. I used to do kickboxing too, found it was SO much fun and what a stress reliever! Have a good day.

geevee on 01/08/2010:
Maybe the person before you on the weights didn't clean them off well and you picked up the germs. You could always test out this idea by wiping off the equipment w/an anti bacterial wipe.

panda22 on 01/08/2010:
Sorry to hear you are under the weather! Hope you feel better. Another factor that may contribute to your getting sick each time you diet might be some minor stress of the new diet. Any kind of stress tends to open us up to getting sick easier because it affects our immune system and weakens it. Get some rest and get well soon!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/09/2010:
awwww! feel better! you know, they also have diet ginger ale if you are interested! i hope you are feeling better soon.
