silence - Saturday Apr 17, 2004 Weight:179.0  (Calorie counting)

Don't even ask what happened to the rest of the ice cream from the other day ;) All I'll say is there is 1 serving left (4 per pint).

I am on target so far today... did pretty bad the last two days too but at least I've kept it under maintainance levels! I did step on the scale this morning before my shower and it read 177.5 but first thing this morning it was 179 so that's what I'm counting for today. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I can log that 177.5 at Monday's 'official' weekly weighin!

I think I'm going to implement a rule of no eating after 8pm because lately I've been screwing up a good day of eating by pigging out at night!! That only gives me 40 more minutes for eating tonight. I have a little over 150 calories left... enough for a small snack and then thats it!! I promise myself! (And you are witness! lol)

On the job topic, my husband is looking for a job in the computer field. I am a SAHM and would prefer to stay as such. He has more earning potential than I do anyway.

Good morning all! The stupid scale says up a pound today (yes, its ALL the scale's fault! LOL) Perhaps this will help motivate me to be good today ;)

The Arizona weather hasn't been bad so far. I just moved here in November so this is the warmest its been so far. I am NOT looking forward to the middle of the summer and 110+ weather! I've been here in the middle of the summer before and its pretty bad! lol

DietPower is a computer program that helps you keep track of your weight loss progress. It seems to be most 'friendly' to calorie counters but I'd guess you could use it reguardless of what program you're on. You can input your foods for the day and it will calculate total calories and a breakdown of nutrients. It will tell you where you're lacking and how you should improve your diet to make it more well balanced (you can change what its looking for too if you're aiming for more high protein or low fat or whatever). You can also input your exercise and it will calculate calories burned. It gives you a calorie aim for the day and that will change according to your progress. It charts your progress and your projected weight loss according to how you're doing so far. The website gives a 15 day free trial if you're curious to try it out. You can either download it or order a CD. I've only been using it for a little over a day so far but I really like it.

Yesterday we got $40 in free Burger King gift certs... talk about a diet killer. Actually, we went last night and I only had double cheeseburger and shared a small fries with my husband and daughter so I could've been worse. The free food is actually handy since we're without a job ever since we moved to Arizona!

So, today I plan to eat at home all day because that gives me better control. I think I'm going to have to put a once a week limit on eating at restaurants so I can keep my calories in control the rest of the week! I'm addicted to going out to eat though. Every time we go somewhere to run an errand I feel like eating somewhere. Ahhh! A habit I must break myself of!

Anyway, I'm off to TRY to be good today ;)

Thanks for the comments =) I will try to make some time to read here tomorrow. I am definitely inspired by others!

I went a little overboard today. I got DietPower to try today and I'm loving it. Its a very good program. However, I still managed to overeat. Hmmmm. Can nothing stop me!?

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!

Glad you are back to Diet Diaries. Just keep posting as much as you want. How are you liking this Arizona weather? I hope it's as nice as the news people are saying it will be. I live in the Verde Valley.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about this place! But, here I am, back again. This is a new username because I couldn't get into my old account plus I really wasn't fond of my old name(and I hadn't posted in over a year) so why not start fresh.

So, a little about my weight history... I dieted a couple years ago and lost about 45 pounds before I went and got pregnant! I gained 38 pounds during my pregnancy but easily lost over half of it afterwards. Unfortunately, I never really got back into the 'living healthy' mindset and the weight started creeping back on. When my weight got up above 180, I decided it was time to get serious again. I started my current 'diet' at 181 pounds. This was over a month ago and I've only managed to lose 2 pounds so far. This is disappointing to me but its not going to make me stop trying! I thought perhaps writing in a diary here again might help me with my motivation and self discipline!

My first goal on this diet was to get under 180 by my birthday... that was a few weeks ago and I made it. My second goal was to try and hit 175 by Easter. I obviously missed that one! My current goal is to try to hit 175 by the end of April but unless I get real serious here, that's not going to happen and it may not even happen if I DO get serious but it won't hurt to try! My long term goal is to be in the 140s by the time I turn 30... a little less than a year away! My ultimate goal is to be 130lbs or less.

So, here I am, trying to be accountable! Hopefully I can keep up with this diary and keep myself moving to a healthier, thinner me!
